About to fire up Borderlands 2 GOTY, got it for my birthday, want to see what it's like, even though I've not finished my current run at Borderlands. But I did complete it before, so it's all good.

I thought the second game was pretty good personally. The weapons are really creative in some cases.

It's like a Wild West FPS with RPG elements, a great sense of humour, colourful characters, fun classes, great gunplay and 27 BAJILLION GUNS!!

I've only played Borderlands, but it is phenomenal fun. Though it must be said that the world is a little empty of NPCs, though considering just how much of it is trying to kill you it's no real surprise. the only problem I had with Borderlands was that playing as the Hunter I got a little tired of watching heads explode.

A while back a friend and I were actually throwing about ideas for a Pen and Paper Borderlands RPG; we tried working out a loot system like they have in the game (completely randomised weapons stats, with the exception of a few unique weapons) and it got so obscenely complicated it wasn't even funny. I suspect that we should have stopped as soon as one of us suggested 'Roll a D1000' but we didn't. WHY DIDN'T WE STOP AT THE D1000!!!!

Yeah someone invested some major time into the loot system in Borderlands.

I can imagine that the loot algorithms were fairly complex. Still, if you have random number generators coming into play then it gets way, way quicker than dice...

I've always thought that their huge claimed number of guns was a little misleading. Really you've got 40 guns with reskins, different parts, different stats, and different effects. The randomization does keep things interesting but saying there are 80 bajillion guns is like GTA saying that there are 40k cars in their game because of minor variations in color or speed on the same make of car.

As long as you don't mind computerized dice...

I loved Borderlands 2. I agree that the number of guns advertised is misleading, but all those randomized effects were a lot of fun. The thing that kind of broke the game was the inclusion of that chest in the sanctuary where you were given golden keys to open. Nearly everything that you got out of that chest was better than the loot you found lying around.

Just fired up Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on the Xbox. I downloaded it about a year and a 1/2 ago but never really got into it, but I've booted it up once more and I'm really having fun. The graphics are basic but it's got a great aesthetic, the combat is fun, there's a lot of enemy variety, exploring the environment is an absolute blast and the soundtrack is pretty good too. Pity that the writing and voice acting is hilariously bad, but this is still a really fun game; it makes me think of of a much more forgiving 2D version of Dark Souls, where you're dropped into a large nonlinear environment and encouraged to explore without much direction whilst stopping off at checkpoints. All in all, a very fun experience.

Minecraft. Stareted up a new world, gonna build a fort an' shiz. I'm too lazy to make fences, so for now I just have a...sheep-pit...

Just fired up Fallout 3 on the Xbox for the first time in aeons, but really not feeling it; just too damn easy. Admittedly it probably didn't help that I min/maxed my characters stats massively in favour of a melee build, but after I blazed through Vault 101 and two gangs of raiders armed with just a baseball bat and barely broke a sweat I'm just not feeling it. If I want first person post-apocalyptic kicks I'll probably stick to the Metro Games in future.

Borderlands 2. Scrapped my assassin run. Much more fun playing as a Siren, a sniping Siren. And she's pretty cute.

But not as cute as the Mechromancer

LOTR: War in the North. Really great and visceral combat, and nice visuals. They even made good use of the universe, which is awesome to see. (Although is it really always dark and raining in Bree?)


Between this and The Hobbit film, my favorite fantasy race has gone from elves to dwarves. So cool the way the armor looks on whatsisface...starts with like a k or an f....ehhhh, great game nonetheless!

Heh, playing Borderlands 2 this morning, and I thought I'd reached the upper limits of it's crazy train. went through a sidequest that involved killing a quartet of escaped mutant test subjects, after infiltrating their base using a pizza. After killing Mitch, Ralph, Leo, Dan, and a fifth hidden member called Flinter, I felt a massive pain in my childhood.

I'd just symbolically killed the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

So I wrote it off as them being the Michael Bay reboot wher ethey're aliens, and immediately felt better.

Then the game got crazier, when I met the character Tiny Tina...

She's thirteen, b*tshit crazy, and obsessed with explosives, stuffed toys, and girls apparently.

This game keeps getting stranger and stranger.

She's also racist according to some idiot.

Well she does have a rather unique manner of speech, one that does feature in certain stereotypes, but yeah, still a ridiculous claim.

What she is is utterly hilarious.

The guy she's racist because she's white and talks that way,I use the word dope daily to describe things!

Now if only I cared enough about Borderlands 2 to suffer Xbox FPS controlls to play it.

I just took it as them taking the piss out of the stereotype, in the 30 seconds I spent considering it.

Personally I've always found it more comfortable playing first person games on console rather than PC, but then I started with a console and haven't played many on PC.

It's awkward using a analog stick to aim.

Funny, I've always found aiming with a mouse to be awkward.

Both, as it happens. I´m just now bidding on two Zappers. One grey, the first edition, and one orange that came later. I may get the MAX and Advantage controllers too, but that´s not top priority. I also want to get an American or region free NES to play my PAL-A games on. Amongst those are the NWC and a few other games.

I´m also into the Game Boy and I´m currently looking for a regular clear console (not the pocket one) and I just won a complete Tetris game in very good condition

You should get the gameboy camera and choose the run option.

An amazing game. It's hard, takes long to load, and I keep dying, but it's amazing. I miss this game, lol

I still plug it in and play once in a while. Everything is still anazing about it besides the graphics.

Finished the story on AC4, and along the way, earned myself a load of rewards to be able to use in the Multiplayer thingy...Awesome!!...

So I fires up the Multiplayer...So, somehow, despite my bazillion (*approx.) Mbs internet connection, it decides to kick me offline...Which then caused the PS3 to freeze...

"Stuff it" thinks I, "I'm paying £40 a year to be able to play online on the PS4."...So I'm now playing the AC4 Multiplayer on the PS4...Ooooh...Niiiiice... ...
