Where is Hecate?

This place does not have a name, just give me the nearest named location, and what direction this is from it.

Ugh, I was just there not all that long ago. It's an elevated gunner camp and the part of the overpass it is on that still exists is pretty tiny, if I remember correctly. I think it's near to a settlement, but I can't think of which one (and if it is, then I probably shouldn't be giving that hint, but whatever). Although the settlement may not be the closest thing, so maybe I should go with something different.

I'm sure it's wrong, but I'm going to guess...near to Walden Pond? And from there, it would be roughly southwest?

cake.gif That is good enough. I can see you clearly know the place I mean. It is north of the Federal Ration Stockpile, and south of Sunshine Tidings. If you are playing a sniper type character, it is a great place to take on the raiders in the exterior of Ration Stockpile.
RaderOfTheLostArk
So it WAS Sunshine Tidings Co-op! I second-guessed myself on that. And coincidentally, I ended my play session last night there. Had to defend it from raiders.

This picture I literally took within the past 20-30 minutes. Where is Mariah (and Piper, but she is out of this shot)?
SubRosa
Given the headless person, I am going to say Sleepy Hollow. Now where are the pumpkins? wink.gif

Then the entirety of Boston (at least wherever raiders, gunners, super mutants, etc. pop up) must be Sleepy Hollow, because Mariah and Piper have popped countless heads all across it. tongue.gif

Related note: Whenever I have a really annoying time in a battle, I take my Bloodied Disciples Blade (renamed to RIP AND TEAR!) and whack at all the dead enemies' bodies until they explode thanks to the Bloody Mess perk. Just yesterday, I had to defend the Nuka World Red Rocket from Super Mutant Warlords. It also didn't help that I had a settler RUN IN FRONT OF MY BULLETS SEVERAL TIMES forcing me to reload and go back to it. But then the Warlords ganged up on me and I had to run around blasting them away while carefully not shooting in the direction of settlers. And I think Warlords have variable health, and they all happened to have a ton of it, and the conglomeration of all of these things were infuriating. I'm glad that Fallout 4 has so much room for gibbing, because it allows for some release of frustration. You don't get to just explode heads, but torsos too.

Any other stabs at where my screenshot was taken?
Lopov
I remember seeing the yellow "tower" or whatever it is, that is seen behind Mariah, in Logan's game, but I can't recall where it is.

I'd say that is the biggest clue, but that alone won't definitively tell you where it is. Here is a bit of another clue, but not too much of one: There are a few other things in the picture that will help you figure out the location if you can discern what they are.

Far Harbor?

Far Harbor?

Nope, still in Bahston Boston.
Lopov
That yellow "thing" (lacking the proper English word) can be found on some quarries, IIRC. I could be totally wrong, of course. But someone has to start guessing to force Rader to give more hints, so I'm going to say that it's somewhere close to Quincy Quarry. biggrin.gif
SubRosa
Oh Oh Oh Mr. Kotter! Mr. Kotter! I know where that yellow thing is! It's the farm machinery, that means Mariah is in Sunshine Tidings Co-Op! Groovy Man!

Well, just for that, I won't give any more hints! tongue.gif

It is not Quincy Quarry, but you are quite warm.

I feel a bit bad since you got so excited, but it is not Sunshine Tidings Co-op. But there is something that is right about your answer, as I will list below.

Against my better judgment (and I don't want to be a stickler either, that would be frustrating and not fun for those guessing), I will give two hints based on both of your answers.

@Lopov is correct as to the general vicinity of the map that this location is in. @SubRosa has the right idea that this is a settlement. That yellow thing is actually a water purifier that I hand-placed, the type that provides 10 units of water. And since I have noted it is a water purifier, I will say what the other clues are that I was referring to before (they won't really make it more clear what the place is than what I have already said).

-That machine in the ruined house is a windmill that I created, further evidence of this being a settlement.
-There is a mutfruit plant on the left side, also hand-placed.
-This one might actually be a helpful hint, now that I think about it. There is something about the background in the top-left of the picture that may clue you in as to the general area this place is.

Taking all these clues together, the location would then be...?

The Mojave Outpost.
Lopov
Nope and nope.
RaderOfTheLostArk
It's definitely New Vegas because that is an NCR uniform, but so many buildings look like that inside. tongue.gif

How about Camp Golf?
Lopov
Nope.

It's the NCR-occupied building, that's true, the soldier is a big enough hint. I assume that many players, me included, don't visit this building. The biggest hint, I'd say, is the object behind the soldier...there aren't so many of them in the Mojave. If it still won't be answered until tomorrow, I'll give out another hint.
mALX

Is it that building that you start out in to do that DLC where you are in that one building and can't get out = have to go through the traps to get to the Sierra Madre?

Lopov
No, it's not that one. The location is in the Mojave.
mALX

Camp McCarran?
Lopov
Nope.

mALX

Is it that NCR Station on the strip?

RaderOfTheLostArk
I thought it had to be something to do with that machine, but I couldn't tell what it is. I can tell what it says on the side now, though, but I think mALX already got the answer.

Yeah, I recognized it as one of those Courier drop things; but was having trouble remembering where any were indoors. I know there was one right outside of where you get Ed-E; but that one was outdoors. I couldn't remember if there was one in Fort McCarran or not; but it was worth a guess because of all the NCR and it being a regular building set (rather than bunker-style set like Hoover Dam). I'd actually gone through that NCR station once in my very first game; but couldn't for the life of me remember anything about it (other than all the NCR there, lol).

Thanks Lopov! That was a really good one! Okay: Where is Misa?

It's quite rare that I recognize a place so quickly. Usually takes at least a couple of guesses from other people and maybe an extra hint before I figure it out--well, IF I figure it out.

I had a couple of good ideas for tough ones that I could use, but I'll save them for next time. Since my last one was tough without hints, I'll go with something easier this time. Where were Mariah and Piper (not shown) in this picture?

The Children of Atom's lair - Crater House?

Well, I guess no hint is needed then. The answer is indeed Crater House! The hint would've been to figure out who that guy is that is hanging--the answer being that he is an unnamed Children of Atom cultist. Kind of amusing that he stayed in that position, so I thought it would make for a good screenshot.

To SubRosa goes the spoils. cake.gif

It was the COA guy's outfit that got me wondering. I could not remember that it was the Children of Atom, just that it was odd. Then the chem lab in the wooden shack framework. Putting both together was what clinched it.

Where is Victoria standing (not what she is looking at)

I want to say it's right next to that hoarder's apartment, though that's probably wrong. But I'll guess that anyway. I didn't resolve the USS Constitution's quest on the side of the robots yet, so I haven't had the ship do this yet.

I suppose that isn't the answer, then, but here is what I am talking about: https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Hoarder%27s_apartment

Looking at the picture, I can see that it definitely isn't it. But it is this small room on some rooftop in downtown Boston where some Pre-War lady just stuffed a whole bunch of random things (at least, I believe it was Pre-War). There's really nothing interesting about it though, even the holotape that is there. They could've had more to it than they did. A bit of a shame since environmental storytelling is one of Bethesda's strong suits, but then again there are plenty of instances where it is good.

I'd say that she's standing on the opposite side of the secret entrance to the Railroad HQ, but I don't remember anything "marked" on the other side of the river.
