So Buffy previewed the new Telvanni Wizard costume today. Though it is a nice concept (knee length robes, no hip/shoulder flappers), she reluctantly rejected it for several reasons:

1000 C is kind of pricey and happens to be about 100 more than is currently in her crown bank.

Buffy does not have a bust or hips to write home about; her figure is defined primarily by a tiny waist. This outfit masks that, making her look rather shapeless (the Glenmoril witch robes are guilty of this as well).

It has no mage pouch!

It makes her feet look as large as Jerric's!

The warden costume is very stiff competition and, for Buffy's purpose, remains her top choice.

So the blocky, unflattering mages robes return, eh? That's true Morrowind style right there! Lol

Eep! laugh.gif One thing that made the Warden costume great for Darnand and not for Jerric is the “lady feet,” as Jerric put it. tongue.gif

Sadly the Telvanni robe did not work for Lildereth either, though it looked very nice. It’s gorgeous on the Nords, but they have no use for it. Also Jerric pointed at the boots and laughed, “Elf toes.” At 1000 Crowns it’s a bit too pricey to keep in the closet just in case. Too bad, it’s a great looking robe with as Acadian mentioned a lot of things to like. I’m very happy with the detail and sleek hips and shoulders.

I think the black kagoutis look very cool, but as with most things I’m happy to just see other players using them. Jerric’s crew could use a guar or kagouti mount, but they’ll wait for something a little less flashy and a lot less bank-breaky.

The Dwemer machine mount is very tempting, however. It is ridiculous and obnoxious, and I love it. Too bad it doesn’t randomly explode and fling the character through the air. Then I would have to buy it for Darnand.

The crown store showcase for June is up:

COSTUMES

Telvanni Wizard-Lord Robe - June 5th

“Holiday in Balmora" Outfit - June 29th

Grazelands Gentlemer Farmer - June 29th

HOUSING

Telvanni Tower home - limited time from June 15th to June 19th

Morrowind: Lord Vivec furniture Set - limited time from June 15th to June 19th

Dwarven Pipes (literally just a collection of Dwemer pipes, wtf) - June 22nd

MOUNTS

Dwarven Spider - limited time from June 5th to June 12th

PETS

Hearthfire Hatchling (kagouti) - limited time from June 1st to June 12th

Bitter Coast Cliff Strider - June 5th

Very disappointed to see that the telvanni tower home is limited time, and only in the crown store. No mushroom tower for me. Dwemer Spider mount sounds very interesting though.

Wow, really like the look of that Vivec package!

** Yeah, I got the feeling that Telvanni house was going to be used like the Topal Bay one; and knew it would be "Crowns only" - really wondering if they will be offering a furnished version of it though, and how many slots it will allow (since they screwed the Topal Bay buyers by it being 100 slots short of what they advertised it to be) = not that I want that tower, though.

I am really wishing they would make a small home in one of those small villages on the sides of hills along that coast on the mainland, they were gorgeous!

Thanks for posting this, Hazmick!

Agree with the thoughts on Telvanni robes - look good but the price is a little uncomfortable. I also can't dye stuff, so it's a no from me for now.

Someone scuttled by on the Dwemer spider mount as Haa-Rei was hunting today. Man, that thing looks ridiculous. The Dwemer mounts in the crown crates, on the other hand, look gorgeous.

I've heard about that mechanical Dwemer horse from the Crown crates, one has been spotted in game already in advance of the release of those Dwemer crates (probably from Japan, they get to preview stuff before we do somehow = I WANT A JAPANESE ACCOUNT!!!!!) = the person who saw it said it looked spectacular, with steam coming out of it and everything! I see those crates selling like hotcakes!!!

I got the Dwemer puzzle orb memento in my free crate. It did not instantly addict me to buying the crates, so I'll have to keep an eye out for those mounts in the game. laugh.gif

Fortunately I can't afford to buy crown crates, otherwise the desire for a Dwemer mount might prove too strong to resist. tongue.gif

I got the memento too, along with some poisons that I ground down into gems. tbh, I really want the hairs (assuming they're coming with these crates). I missed out on the Argonian Head Frills and Wrestler's Buzz Cut and I still regret it. 'Specially the former since I wanted them for Hates even before I learned they were on the first Crown Crate season. Hm...

Anyways, a little late but I took a look at the Bugshell robes and found that they make really good Argonian Mage clothes. Might get it for Jo' for when Murkmire finally comes out, but Hates won't have any use for them. (I like to have Jo' wear clothes from the DLC's region, a tradition I broke with the Gold Coast but I want to revive it, so I might spring to get the Telvanni robes, too)

Not sure yet which one is the dungeon pack and which will be the content-based DLC.

Man story could be either one. Many stories could be told in the Reach, but Clockwork could be interesting, especially if Sotha Sil is involved. Brenna is excited at the prospect of going home to the Reach!

Actually, it looks like Clockwork is the story DLC while Reach is the dungeon DLC, if this article is any indication (which seems definite).

I've been waiting 2 years for ESO to continue its damn storyline. I hope the wait is worth it. I'm sleep deprived and full of liquids don't mind me.

Looks like we're getting the dungeons on Q3 and we FINALLY get the Clockwork City Q4

Also lol, the Horns of the Reach DLC was datamined a long time ago as "Nord Dungeons" or something similar. I thought it'd be somewhere farther north but I was wrong.

So reading it now after some sleep, it doesn't sound to Khajiit like they are actually adding in the Reach as a zone! It just says Horns of the Reach adds two dungeons. Unless, maybe it comes with the "big update" that releases at the same time?

It'll be like the Shadows of the Hist dungeon pack - just two new group dungeons. The Reach zone will be added eventually, just not soon.
monkeyemoness
I wonder if they'll plop them in the space surrounded by Wrothgar, Bangkorai and Craglorn or if the entrance to the dungeons will be in said zones. Allegedly there's already a gate in Bangkorai covered by thorny vines.

Transmog on the way frick yes. Hopefully SoonTM is actually soon given that it already sorta exists. If it ends up being tied to Crafting, even better. :V
hazmick
That 'soon' could be next year, or even the year after that. I'd love it as soon as possible of course - very exciting system to implement. No more recrafting a full set of CP160 gear every time a cool new motif is released.
TheCheshireKhajiit
Would this "transmog" be the same as like when you have the Imperial upgrade and you can change any item to Imperial style, except this would be with all styles that you know?
hazmick
Yep, pretty much. Pick up a cool set item that looks gross? Change it into a style that you like!

At least, that's how I imagine it'll work if it's called transmogrification. Other games have different methods of doing similar things.

Do you think this would work for keeping the looks of the lower tiered racial gear for use on high tiered gear? Like how iron weapons look more battle worn than, say, Ebon?
hazmick
Now that is something I hadn't considered. I'd love that to be the case, and (depending on how transmog will work) I suppose it could be done, but I'd be surprised if Zenimax went that far with the system.

Yeah it would be a bit more involved. You'd have to give people two choices for each piece of gear in each Motif:

Imperial Rubedite Cuirass of Awesomeness--- Argonian Rubedite Cuirass of Awesomeness Style 1 or Argo Cuirass of Awesomeness Style 2

And this is not even taking into account that pretty much everything below the 4th tier material gear has its own unique look. Iron looks slightly different than Steel, Orichalcic looks closer to Dwarven but still different.

And Sets have their own unique looks too. I think they carried that a bit too far. I mean, I think Bosmer armor should not have changed drastically in looks every 10 levels. Same with Argonian armor, although at least the Argonian armor still looked appealing in the higher levels.

On the Argonian armor, Khajiit really likes the minimalist nature of the low level medium Argo armor (same for Bosmer really). Why they changed it so drastically for the higher levels is beyond this one's comprehension.

Being able to use the old styles was one of the reasons I really wanted this. Then again, only the classic armor designs of the ten races has different variants based on level so I don't think we're going to get it. Here's hoping, though! I agree that some of them go from great to ugly by the time they reach Dwarven/Spidersilk/Full Leather. I'd like to have a set of Rubedite Breton armor in the Steel Style for the body and an Orcish style helmet, for example. (Maybe, I gotta see how that looks) Also unlock the Lion Shield design for Hickory/Yew Breton Shields. Why isn't it available in-game? Why does it reuse the Beech style?

Anyways, looks like I'm saving my crowns again. Nothing in this season of Crown Crates looks appealing enough to buy them. I did notice they're throwing motifs into the pot now. Interesting. Call me back when the Chef/Blacksmith outfits I missed out on come back. :V (And the argonian fins and the buzz cut)

Got my eye on a couple of crown crate things this time around (Dwemer Guar, Pale Velothi Guar, Elf Hero costume) but idk if I want to spend the money. I'm really waiting for the Treasure Hunter costume to come back one day.

Do you think this would work for keeping the looks of the lower tiered racial gear for use on high tiered gear? Like how iron weapons look more battle worn than, say, Ebon?

This is my fondest hope for the transmog system. Transfer the appearance of any item to another item in the same slot. Best case we could even use the appearance of clothing items. Hopefully it will not require some Crown-only or Crown Gem-only token.

Thank you, hazmick! You are always the first place I get this kind of news and I appreciate it. Nothing overly exciting regarding costumes but only the previews on Buffy will tell. The ESO+ events sound great - try to boost enrollment while rewarding existing members. Nice. smile.gif
