Khajiit is surprised at how ill fitting the New Life hood is with most outfits. This one thought for sure it would have gone well with the Glenmoril robe but nope, you can see the characters lower neck between it and the robe. It seems to go better with armor.

Eolan's wearing the towel for the Snow Bear event in Eastmarch, at least.

Buffy, Eolan, and Misa (? I couldn’t tell by her armor and swords, just guessing) look outstandingly festive whether bare, bundled up, or in between. I love Eolan’s expression at the drunken Nord’s comment!

After the first round of quests Jerric put some clothes back on. His festival uniform changed a little this year. Since there are three iterations of Jerric, he has three New Life outfits. He wears either a blue stevedore’s jerkin with the plain fur hood, a brown stevedore’s jerkin with the non-pinecone cowboy broadbrim hat, or just his towel and the hat. He’s sporting some dragon body paint at the moment, so the towel look is surprising when he pops up on the login screen.

He was very happy when Mikken scored the knife juggling rune box in his only gift box. Mikken is not doing the quests, but the whole crew each went out to meet Breda and get a present in the hope of finding some toys for Jerric.

Mira got juggling, and swordswallowing runeboxes earlier today and also completed the New Life achievements for the “Magnanimous” title.

Now that you mention those swords, I think you might be right that it is Misa. She is the one that had the Soul Shriven swords; and that DOES look like Soul Shriven hilts!

I am loving all these screenshots!!! That is probably the second most fun of the festival; seeing everyone else's screens of their runs!

Oddly enough, the one achievement she was lacking from last year was the one where you have to drink the Betnik Twice Spiced Ale after eating and drinking (and burping) at the fortress. Had to get Brenna to earn and learn the recipe (didn’t have one in the bank), and then she made a sample and put it in the bank so Mira would have it.

Two of my girls missed that one, it seems that the keg they have there in that fortress doesn't contain the right drink to give you the achievement. So I went and made some, stuck it in the bank so my girls can just pull some out and drink it.

Yeah the keg at the fortress contains Betnik Spiced Ale. The thing you are supposed to drink is Betnik Twice Spiced Ale, which is why Khajiit missed this (because of the name similarity). Couldn’t recall if you can get a sample in the gift boxes, and Mira knows the recipe but lacked the skill to brew it so Brenna had to do it.

Same here; discovered it on Britta; who has no skills whatsoever for crafting (although she actually did know the recipe).

Break out the burn ointment, Jerric got the fire-spitting rune box. Woo!

“Find the Dancing Nord” is a favorite game of Jerric’s. He posts up in the fortress with a supply of the Achievement ale and offers it for free in zone chat. Good times.

Yep. A lot of people still didn't understand how to belch or that you need that specific ale for the achievement. (If we had a dancing banana emoticon, I would use it here. )

Khajiit wants to say he saw some jerk trying to sell them in zone chat Friday, but this one wasn’t paying the best attention.

Well, (even if a person was trying to sell it) unless they were asking a ridiculously huge amount; wouldn't really say they were wrong to charge at least the cost of their ingredients; there is nothing wrong with getting reimbursed. Grits is just being Awesome to hang out there and give it away! That is really Awesome and generous, and I hope Jerric got some really nice thanks for that! He def has the Saturalia spirit!

Game Director Newsletter is out for your reading pleasure. Didn’t read the past stuff but in 2018 we can look forward to 3 DLC’s (starting with a Nord themed dungeon one called Dragon Bones early in the year that will also have an update with it), and a full chapter (like Morrowind). With the first DLC will be an update with “quality of life” improvements. It didn’t give a lot of detail, but it mentioned something people who care about their appearance will like and, what Khajiit is excited for, homestead storage items!

I hope at some point that they will give us more inventory slots for our houses; even if we have to buy them from the Crown Store, grrrrrr.

I most def have to make a log of my playing character's champion point expenditures so I can redo them correctly when they do that update they are talking about, urk.

Huh, I guess I was wrong about the Horns of the Reach DLC being the "Nord DLC" datamined about a year ago. (I mean, it's better described as the Reachman DLC I guess)

Still, I'm guessing the cosmetic update will be the also datamined "transmog", which seems to be a build-your-own costume system based on the data.

Still, excited! Not for the dungeon DLC since I don't really get those, but for the QoL (and the continuation of the story in the Clockwork City)

I wonder if this means trunks to stash items that are cluttering up our banks; a place to stick miscellaneous furnishings so we don't have to buy ANOTHER house just to store stuff; or even weapon/armor racks/mannequins/display cases so we can stow our quest rewards, extra armor, and half-collected armor sets a la Skyrim and yes, even Oblivion (with mods).

And I DO hope, like Monkey, that the character related cosmetic QOL improvement means real

of excellent armor sets ruined by crappy styles. Fingers and toes crossed!

Khajiit wonders how they will do storage items. Obviously it will be slots, but how many? This one doesn’t think it will be many per item unless they are ridiculously expensive. Like say a trunk will have one slot, or a chest of drawers perhaps has as many slots as drawers.

That is exactly what I'm afraid they mean by that vague reference to storage; instead of giving what thousands of in game home buyers have been griping about since day one = some way to get more inventory slots to place items in homes. If I didn't have ESO Plus, Hunding House only offers 300 slots to place items; which is ridiculously low for a place that size. I would even be willing to buy additional slots with Crowns if they would offer it.

I mean, giving us the dresser would be fine as long as they offered the slots too. But if we can only have one, it should be the slots first; since I can't shove those tables into dressers,

Seriously though, the inability to actually store your crap at your home has been one of Khajiit’s major gripes about homes. This is a step in a good direction.

I would love furnishings that have their own inventory slots. For example a buildable end table that could be used to store say 20 items, but not linked to your bank or overall storage limit for that house. Then each character could keep their extra armor and random junk in their own home. I am always in favor of character-based improvements.

We still need an increase in slots for the houses as well as a Guild Hall designation, though. A house tagged as the Guild Hall could have extra slots for furnishings and players, and be reachable through the main guild page rather than just through the player-owner’s spot in the roster. It is a real pain in big guilds to locate the guild hall by way of the massive roster.


In other news, this week’s luxury items are alchemy related and on display at Jerric’s primary residence, if anyone wants to take a look before buying. First floor by the alchemy station.

You see armor stands and weapon racks all over Tamriel; it would be cool if we could get functioning versions of those in our houses.

So- if the name isn't gone (because I used it during the PS4 trial)- Trey of High Rock will be landing in Cold Harbour and then Bleakrock Isle. He will need a lot of handholding- because he's a vestige and all...

ETA- PC version- which is taking a while to install. So more Christmas music on Pandora for me. I did have to choose a different email, since the PS4 trial ate the existing one. I doubt the accounts are transferable, even with the same email and login info... But I may just test it in a minute or 2. Because nothing fights boredom like making an error with your new game....

I got back from my visit to the UK yesterday, so Unna has arrived in Davon's Watch!

Unna is wearing mostly things she made for herself. She got an Orc Motif (full) and made the cuirass that style. Her boots may be set ones, but the gauntlets and pauldrons are Nord style. Looking for rounder pauldrons to complement the boob-plate style of the Orcish.

No white bears or eyepatches in the store, either. I've seen both in the game, as hostile creatures and on NPC's, so I know what they look like.

Take a look at Breton pauldrons, the Breton style often has rounded shoulder pieces.

Yeah you can get an eyepatch in one of the style parlor packs (cosmetics, if Khajiit is not mistaken). Honestly, you probably should invest in the crowns for hairstyles, cosmetics, and body markings. There is also a cave bear (brown bear) mount in the store that could serve until you happen upon a Snow Bear for sale in the Crown Store.

ghastley, I sent you a guild invitation. I think the drill is that once you connect with hazmick or Acadian (to verify that I didn’t invite the wrong ghastley ), they will set your permissions so that you can withdraw stuff from the guild bank. Lots of goodies in there to get you started, including the motif books that will let Unna craft more of the racial styles. Heh, we probably have all of them in there by now. Welcome!!

And if we don’t, Khajiit is sure he has a bunch of excess motifs being held onto by one of his bank mules. Actually, this one may go ahead and deposit the basic racial motifs into the GB later tonight. Also, please feel free to take some of the Skinchanger and Hollowjack motif chapters. Khajiit will even shoot you some style materials so you can craft something in those styles if you find something you like.

On the Eye Patches = I have seen them for sale in the Crown Store; but they may be in there as "Gem" items = items you can buy using the Gems you get from turning in stuff you don't want out of those Crown Crates. I'll look it up in game today. I know they have them, though.

The White Bears would be a limited purchase from the Crown Store; so keep your eyes open for one throughout the year; and you can write in either on the ESO Official Forums or in game via the "/bug" feature in the chat box = (choose "Suggestions" or "kudos" type thing; then tell them how much you love the bear mounts but wish they had one in white. Both of those methods do seem to get stuff into the game if they get enough requests; though it usually takes a while for them to work it into their schedule and actually implement it .
