Aw poop, dyes are individual character achievements? Time to use all those old crafting mats lol
I agree, though, this update opened a lot of possibilities. I can decorate a house without worrying about inventory space because of furnishings and because I'm carrying around crafting stations.
It will work great for sorting stuff that I have stored in bank mules; keep me from having to dig around if we can name the chests so I know which to dig in! Anyone know if we can name them?
Too bad I can't use them to give me more slots at the Hunding Place; urgh.
Did anyone catch all the new furnishings? WOO HOO!!!

MY BOXES
Hey, I'd be careful deleting mules that stored stuff in the new containers any time soon unless the current maintenance addresses the bug where deleting them deletes the items they stored, too.
Urgh, you mean if they put the stuff into the chests that it deletes the items in the chests that they placed there? GAAAAAAAAAAH !!!!! That is NOT good! I guess you could have them put it all into the bank and only assign a highly prized character to place them in the boxes? But that is pretty scary that they would have the stuff in the boxes tied to any character; I mean ... wasn't all these storage chests kind of the point = to get rid of the bank mules and have more playable characters?

Unna is miffed that "hide pants" didn't make it before it went live. She can get an outfit of the lower-level gear with the shorter tassets to hide higher-level ones, but she still can't wear invisible greaves. We'll make her an outfit when I get home tonight, and then we'll create Taminwe and go get some level-up rewards. That free coffer may be the first piece of furnishing in some of the houses! The free horse might get some use, too. I didn't level her far enough on PTS to get either, especially as she was re-created more than once to tweak appearance.
ZOS isn't showing the full list of level-up stuff, just the major milestones (every five levels) - the full list as discovered on PTS is
here, and I have no reason to believe it got changed since. Laurie is happy that the bed at level 18 is not one that she knows. It will probably get put in an Inn room.

It looks like that bear is part of the regular season crates, not a limited-time special. With several characters getting crates through level-up rewards, I should get more chances at it. I'd still prefer the plain one.

Thanks for the news, Khajiit!
March Showcase! Those barefoot Khajiiti costumes look promising. As much as Abiene would like to see Jerric in his suit and one of those bowler hats, it’s not going to happen. The creepy monkey is tempting, as is the return of the Jester! Elke was once saved at a dolmen by a Saxhleel hero who graciously accepted her thanks, returned a compliment in kind, and then pranced off high-knees to her astonished amusement. She had not noticed his Jesterish approach while deep in the fight.
More free crates! Mikken is going after the crew’s last free leveling crate as soon as we can get logged on. One more chance at the wee fox and then it’s purchase time. Nice to see the return of the Great Elk mount, but I doubt I’ll get the gazillion gems required to buy one. I’ll enjoy seeing more people riding them, though! What caught my eye is the Tan Morthal Mastiff. You can never have too many nice dogs, cats, and horses.

This one suspects that they are going to be a lot like the Witchknight Charger they released a while ago. Some of the trappings are upgrades, but it’s base appearance also has items you can’t remove.

My housing guild is doing a group entry for the Daedric Outfit contest, and Alise is participating! We will be depicting the Coldharbour Pact put together by Sotha Sil, and Alise is dressing up as Azura. This will be the first time she has worn a skirt since she married Argis back in 4th Era Skyrim, so she is unused to it. And I think THAT was the first time she has worn a skirt ever in her 147 years! Hah! Anyway, our guildie made the comment that she is an improved Almalexia in the outfit. Now, Mikey has seen her in our first choice, the Cyrodiil Formal Gown, but we changed that out since the contest is supposed to highlight the outfitter system. So Alise went with a Bosmer Level 1 top and a Daedric skirt, and it is looking GOOOOOD!
Pictures are next week, and we already have Sheo (our GM is the zombie cat so he’s perfect for the Mad God), Boethiah, Hermiemora’s Servant, and a few others lined up. I’m excited and looking forward to what everyone will come up with. Our GM has the new DB cavern, and is deco-in up a smaller room for our photo shoot. It’s been fun working with a few of the guildies and I am looking forward to the final product!

That sounds neat! They said they weren’t expecting exact copies of the Princes’ styles, which is good because the game doesn’t allow for it in the outfit system alone. Khajiit wonders if you could use an item from the appearance collection as long as it is minimal? Brenna owns a deer skull mask that is too perfect for a Hircine homage (Brenna really loves Hircine). Might be a bit too “on the nose” though.

I'm betting on Chapter, but things have been shaken up this year by having the dungeon DLC given to us right away. With that in mind, datamining suggested that the whole Summerset plot would be spread out in both a Chapter AND a DLC, so I'm excited to see what we get regardless.

ALL ABOARD THE DISAPPOINTMENT TRAIN (Russian datamine several hours ahead of the official reveal)
So, uh,
how about that High Rock DLC, huh? Seriously, though, the aesthetic is extremely disappointing and I hope to Auriel that large fortress/castle isn't meant to be Alinor. I'm not exaggerating when I say that it's enough to deter me from buying it, at least immediately.
Ah well, at least there's a new skill line and Jewelry crafting.
Of course, this is just the datamine, and we still have the stream's information to see, so maybe there will be more. Still, not really happy with what we have here. At the very least, it seems Crystal Tower will be involved, which means that maybe the original plot will be back?
monkeyemoness
Mar 21 2018, 09:57 PM
(Aside from some cinematics and the contents of the Chapter editions, there wasn't much in the stream that wasn't already covered by the datamine. Jewelry's getting new traits, I guess? Crafted set jewelry confirmed, too.)
Post-stream thoughts: things look better in motion, but Summerset looks a lot less magical than I anticipated. True, it's my fault for setting my expectations so high, but on the other hand ZOS has been full of cowards lately. :v
That said, it looks like some of the old concepts from when Alinor was going to be in the game made it in. There are some very visible constellations in the sky even during the daytime (almost like smaller suns) and Crystal Tower looks pretty rad. Artaeum also seems to fulfil that weird, techno-magic aesthetic thing, so at least there's that. Hopefully we get some plot about the varlines, too.
idk, at the very least it does seem to be a direct continuation of the storyline, unlike Morrowind, so I have less reservations about getting the chapter.
There's also this.

The basic digital upgrade is only 29.99 USD, so I guess the Warden and Battlegrounds really were the reason for the extra 10 dollars in Morrowind. And maybe nostalgia

I suddenly started thinking about this and wondered whether the crafting monkey had enough Skill Points, which led me to whether this crafting line will have daily writs associated with it. What about Master Writs? It's technically equipment and has its own tiers of materials and tannins, but it isn't as complex as the other three. Will there be special crafting stations for these, too? Attuneables? Will they just be a branch of Blacksmithing for those that don't have monster fingers and idiot hands? I can't wait for more news on this.

Yeah enchant station would be Khajiit’s guess as well. Wait, no probably blacksmithing station. This one says this because you need the station that’s going to be creating the actual jewelry and this would be best covered at the blacksmith station (you wouldn’t make jewelry at a clothing or woodworking station). That is, unless they plan on making a new station for jewelry.

Summerset and Update 18 PreviewI skimmed over the Chapter stuff cause there doesn't seem to be anything new aside from one thing: Summerset is exactly like any other zone in that it has six Delves, six World Bosses, and two Public Dungeons, making this new "Abyssal Geyser" something unique to Summerset. Directly from the article: "...these new group activities spawn waves of fierce monsters and must be shut down before they overrun the surface." Sounds a lot like the portals that spawn all over Craglorn, but the "overrun the surface" sounds different. Does that mean they affect spawns?
It turns out that Jewelry Crafting IS locked to the Chapter. New crafting stations are placed all over Tamriel, but like the Thieves Troves you can't use them until you buy Summerset. I was getting it anyways, but still, gross. There's confirmation that it's just like all the other Crafting Skills, writs included, so there's that. It's a good idea to start hoarding jewelry to deconstruct and research now, even if you can only save three of the six traits.
We're also (finally) getting log-in rewards, which is also great, but makes me wonder. "These gifts could include consumables, currencies, special collectibles, and even Crown Crates! With daily login rewards, you'll have even more reasons to visit Tamriel each and every day." Finally, more reasons to log in besides writs. Free things are always nice. I wonder if we'll ever get a loyalty program.

Thanks for posting this, monkey!
Disappointing that jewelry crafting is a Chapter thing, mostly because the forums will be clogged with complaint threads from here until the next Chapter. I wish they would have made it a base game addition.
Update 18 brings Crown Store gifting. Hard to believe that’s not ZOS getting a piece of the gold selling game. I’m not much for doom and gloom, but this looks bad to me.
On the other hand, new zone!
