QUOTE
Since Lopov forced me, I rolled a new FONV toon to beat the game with, Cyhiraeth, the Irish Adventurer
Cyhiraeth has an interesting backstory, it also gives her an excuse for losing her memory regarding the Divide, that is, if she'll ever do the DLC content.
QUOTE
Except of course for Lucky. But it is locked up, and takes a Lockpick of 75 to get into. Cyhiraeth has been forced to put every point into her Guns skill to stay alive, so that hasn't happened.
There's a mod called NVR - Lock kicking & Lock Bombing, which allows you to bypass locks by using either force or explosives though you have to meet some skill requirements to succeed or use very powerful explosives, like C4 which are hard to find at low levels. Now that I read the entire post, I see that she already has Lucky. Goodman, a dead gentleman, used Lucky and I loved it, not only because of stats but also because of its
design.
Anyway, nice to see another girl roaming the Mojave, what is her 3rd tagged skill? (besides Guns and Lockpick, I assume)
She started out with Guns, Repair, and Survival tagged. She's 9th level now, with Guns at 100, Lockpick at 55, and not much in anything else except those other two initially tagged skills. I'll probably leave the lockicking where it is, since now she can get into a Hard lock with a magazine to boost her skill. I expect to work on Repair next, to get more of the bullet making abilities.

Well, Cyhiraeth went and did it. As much as I tried to put it off, she got the Legion's dander up, and now they are sending assassins after her. I even purposely avoided going into Nipton with her, since there is no way a character of mine can go in there without walking out over a bunch of Legion corpses. But when she heard gunfire, went to check it out, and found a Legion patrol shooting it out with not only an NCR patrol, but two traveling merchants as well, Cy just could not stay out of it. She had to jump in guns blazing, blowing off a Legionary's head with her first shot from Lucky. A few hours later, the first 5 man Legion assassin team came after Cy. The first of many. *sigh*, that get so annoying after a while. Thankfully I just found a mod that reduces their frequency.

It is the same idea, but the Legion is a lot tougher, especially if you are a lower level character.

Sep 28 2014, 09:03 AM
I also use this mod that reduces the frequency of attacks, I have them set to occur once per three weeks. I'm expecting them to appear in Blondie's game soon, she's currently Shunned with the Legion so they'll probably start appearing. She's been neutral for long with them, but just as Cyhiareth she couldn't just stand and watch Legion killing merchants and NCR soldiers.

I came across some interesting mods today.
Pipboy Readius gets rid of the pipboy on your wrist. Instead it replaces it with a tablet pc. This lets you see your left arm for the first time ever.
I went looking for it because
The Nyx Suit has a problem with the pipboy. It makes your left arm invisible when you put the suit on. But the suit looked so neat, that I was inspired to find some way to get rid of the pipboy without breaking the game. It has inspired me to create a cyborg character.
Daughters of Ares is a full bore cyborg mod I found today that adds a new cyborg race. But I didn't like how any of the classes for it worked, and don't feel like reworking them myself. It also seems to require NMM to install, which I won't use. I have heard too many horror stories from people whose games it has completely trashed.
Renee

I can see ditching the Pipboy especially if the character's not supposed to be from 101 (or any other vault) RP-wise. It would also be funny if somebody made a mod which ditched the Pipboy from somebody who's always worn one, and then replaces it with bleachy, untanned skin underneatth!
Lopov
Sep 29 2014, 05:56 PM
In NV you are given a PipBoy from a former vault citizen in the tutorial. I used this mod in the past but now I prefer to have PipBoy visible, it makes my character more special. I also use a mod that adds more PipBoys to people that should wear them, like former vault citizens etc...

Blondie is in Sierra Madre.
Just as many other unfortunate adventurers, she was curious what's behind a beautiful woman's voice on a radio, and her curiosity led her to a well-placed trap. Now she's forced to cooperate with other adventurers trapped in a city of dead, wearing an explosive collar on her neck and following orders of a deranged old man. Blondie is obedient for now but when the time comes...
...she'll enjoy decapitating the Old man.
Beware, Elijah, beware, 'cos Blondie will be your nightmare!

Blondie is now inside the "fabulous" Sierra Madre Casino. Now she has to deal with her companions, one way or another. The only one she cares about, is Christine, and Blondie will try to resolve with her peacefully. She doesn't care about a mutant with a split personality too much but if possible, she'll try and keep him alive. Regarding Dean...it was hate at first sight. They were forced to cooperate but if it were possible, they'd kill each other immediately. So Blondie will have no mercy for Dean - chances are that he'll try and kill her first but even if he doesn't initiate the attack, Blondie will make it sure that Dean doesn't come alive from the Sierra Madre.
Then she will hopefully meet her mysterious captor Elijah and settle accounts with him.

I have a confession to make.
As with every character, Blondie is dead-is-dead as well. Or actually was. Because today she died.
Technically.
But I decided to reload. I don't want to lose a fully-fleshed 22-level character with a mind of her own to whom I invested more than 100 enjoyable hours and taken more than 500 screenshots. I RP-ed it in such a way that she had a vision about her death. This doesn't mean that I'll play without being careful from now on, but she isn't DiD anymore. I'm not sure whether what I did, is right or wrong, I still have mixed feelings about it, but for now I'll continue playing with her.

Thanks for the support.
So as it happens, Blondie survived the deadly Sierra Madre and is now back in the Mojave. She was immediately attacked by some fire geckos but she was actually glad to see them. Glad because she knows that she's finally back to where she belongs, instead of being locked up in a city of dead, filled with a toxic cloud and ravenous ghost people.
Now she'll probably take an extended vacation, doing absolutely nothing.

Four men were waiting, hidden behind rocks along Highway 95. All of them were armed to the teeth. All of them were wearing sturdy reddish ornate armor, given only to the most capable members. All of them were prominent members of the Caesar's Legion, picked by mighty Caesar himself. All of them had one purpose to accomplish on this highway - to kill a girl called Blondie, whom Caesar publicly declared as an enemy of the Legion.
As soon as their leader spotted a figure approaching in the distance, he commanded his subordinates to take their positions. With binoculars he made sure that the person approaching, was the right one. And she was. Slowly walking down the Highway, smoking as usual. She didn't seem so dangerous to the Legion commander yet he was warned not to underestimate her. Not only did she kill several Legion members by herself, she was also an accomplished bounty hunter and was said to even kill some important people on the Strip. She could have been a valuable asset to the Legion, if she hadn't provoked them.
The commander hid behind a rock, waiting for Blondie to come closer. He was convinced that he'll hear her footsteps yet this hasn't happened. Did she stop? The commander carefully looked from behind the rock but he saw no one. Where is she? But at the same time he heard a voice behind:
"Surprise, mother[censored]!"
The last thing which the commander saw was a flashing red light hitting his head. The pain was unbearable, it felt like his head is getting separated from the rest of his body. Which is exactly what happened yet the commander of course didn't know this.
...
Many hours later, when a legion frumentarius, disguised as a traveler, assigned to check if Blondie was successfully executed, arrived to the place of the attack, he couldn't believe his eyes. All assassins were dead, some turned to ash, some shot through and through, and one of them was in pieces. The frumentarius hurried back to the Fort and a few hours later Caesar doubled a prize on Blondie's head.

Once again I have to praise Someguy2000 from Nexus, who made IMO some of the best mods for New Vegas, like New Vegas Bounties, Russell, The Inheritance,...if it weren't for him and his creations, I probably wouldn't be playing New Vegas. Just today I launched The Inheritance, which I've never played before, and I'm totally hooked after playing it only for an hour. This man should be an honorary story developer at Bethesda because his content surprasses the vanilla one by far IMO. It might not be for everybody because there's a lot of profanity involved but to those that haven't tried his mods yet, I heartly recommend them.

Welcome to the Chorrol Wasteland! I have been playing the Fallout games since Fallout Tactics, and I even went back to play Fallout 1. I still haven't gotten to FO2 yet, though I do have it on disc with FO1 (part of a bundle disc that was out years ago). The FO games are tons of fun. I love the tongue in cheek sense of humor they have.
I never used to always hate coming up with names for characters as well. So I tended to reuse the same ones over and over again. Then I saw someone on a forum say they always used the names of gods and goddesses. So now I do the same, along with figures from legend, myth, and even history, and naming new characters is fun!
In the Fallout games alone I have had Oda Hidetaka, Tomoe Gozen, Boudica, Kitsune, Medusa, Nyx, Pele, and Bastet, among others. So far my favorite FONV character has been Lonesome Dove, though I also have Aurora, Cyhiraeth, and Bellona as well.

Welcome, Shailene, looking forward to your stories.
The more I think about naming my characters, the worse ideas I get. But as an avid collector of comic books, I often give them names based on comic book characters though I usually choose some minor, less-known characters that don't play any important role and appear in just one episode. I also name some characters with names from other computer games. For the rest I just stick to spontaneous ideas - my current character Blondie got her name while I was driving, and heard song Maria performed by Blondie.
My former characters in NV were named: Dyvanche (my first character, named after a character from an Italian comic book), Nathaniel (named after a character from an Italian comic book as well), Sylvia Kinsky (the surname is inspired by Klaus Kinsky), Jim Larrabee (from a comic book as well), Gregory Baxter (not sure) Goodman (named after the main antagonist of Desperados II). I think that covers all characters in New Vegas for now.

It's awesome to know the creative ways your character names are inspired

I used to just take a name from whatever book/t.v. show i was into at the time. Haha.
Well in FO3 Shailene is sort of following the main quest, but in my head i put off asking Moriarty about dad. I just pretend that he is lying about not knowing anything and Shailene isn't suspicious about him.
I might go through with the MQ, but not right now. When she arrived in Megaton she befriended Lucy West and she completed her quest. I have a mod added that adds Lucy as a companion when her quest is completed, so now they are travelling together, or ratherthey will be when I return to FO3.
In FNV Shailene and Willow are headed to New Vegas, and on the way met Veronica, who kindly offered to teach Willow something in unarmed combat. Veronica also asked politley to join them in their journey, now my party consists of us three. I turned the diffuculty up to hardonce Veronica joined.
