Oda Hidetaka finally made it to Vegas yesterday. She went straight to The Tops, and told Victor to bug off before she killed him when he tried to get her to see Mr. House first. She does not give a rat snake's ass for House. She was there to kill Benny, his henchmen, his family, his friends, everyone connected to him.
She walked into The Tops, and immediately went on a killing spree. She started with the doormen, and then went through the entire casino killing everyone who worked there. She only spared the civilians there to gamble. Benny turned up about half way through, and she turned him into sushi. I think this is the first time a character of mine has ever gone through every part of the casino. I had no idea there was a cell with a pool!
She is also my first character to ever be so bloodthirsty. Not even Loviatar killed every Chairman. She and the others simply went in and killed Benny. Hecate did it with a sniper shot from across the casino. Persephone and Loviatar did it ambushing him alone in his suite. Hidetaka did it in a tidal wave of slaughter. Samurai know how to take vengeance.
She got some some serious Infamy in The Strip for it. I forget exactly what the level was. I am not sure how that will play out in the future. No one attacked her on the way out though, which was good. Otherwise she might have had to kill everyone in New Vegas. Which she would have done. Vulpes Inculata from the Legion talked to her after exiting of course. She took his head off, and no one blinked. That's the kind of town New Vegas is...

Aw man! This reminds Khajiit of the scene in
Kill Bill vol.1 where the bride shows up at O-Ren Ishii's hq and destroys
The Crazy 88!

Looks like Japanese are very vengeful because Lee Cyeng dealt with Benny in almost the same way.

He didn't kill Victor but proceeded straight to the Tops as well and refused to surrender his weapons which resulted in Chairmen turning hostile. He might spare them if they let him through but they didn't, so too bad.
Like Oda, he didn't kill any gamblers though if some would run right past him as he would be slicing the Chairmen and he happened to kill them - too bad, but fortunately it didn't happen. Benny died in a rather unspectacular way, Lee was hoping at least for his head to be chopped off but looks like he got hit with a blunt part of Lee's axe. That's why he threw his corpse on the gambling table, hacked it to pieces and tossed his head to some gamblers.
He spared the Chairmen in other areas, though, and I disabled Vulpes with the console because it gets annoying seeing him every time as we step out of the casino.
One thing, though - he didn't get any infamy on the Strip, his rep stayed neutral.

So I wonder why Oda did, was it because of Victor? Or did she kill some gambler by accident?

It is possible Lovi only kills until she is sated, right? The lion can't go after every wildebeest on the prarie. For Hidetaka, it's not about winning, it's probably also about making
sure the enemy knows it has lost.

Hidetaka did not actually kill Victor. But she was ready to. There was a line telling him something like get lost that she used.
I just double-checked, and she is Shunned on The Strip. I am not exactly sure what that means, but it cannot be good.
I am pretty sure she did not kill any gamblers by accident. I was really careful not to swing the sword when any of them them were near, to the point of being a bullet sponge at some points. I could see the faction status updates as the fight went on. Maybe killing certain members of Benny's gang incur the bad reputation and some do not? I noticed that there were different tittles to them - Chairmen, Benny's Bodyguards, and a few others.

No, whether you visit him or not, doesn't affect your reputation.
Did Oda talk to the Chairman Greeter but managed to sneak in her weapons due to high sneak and attacked the Chairmen afterwards or did she make him hostile because she refused to surrender her weapons?
Lee did the latter and now I'm thinking if Oda did the former and attacked the Chairmen as they were friendly, maybe that cause the fall of reputation.

Hidetaka talked to the greeter, and refused to give up her weapons. He said something like "Too bad, we have to kill you now." and then the fight was on. So I think technically they began the combat. Unless I was too quick after the dialogue box closed and attacked before the game set to them to hostile? That is possible.
Lopov
Oct 17 2017, 08:38 PM
I checked back what happened in Alan Webb's game, he surrendered his weapons, then took some from the Chairmen on the 13th floor, and then went back to the lounge and attacked other Chairmen. By the time he was done with them and Benny, his reputation on the Strip was shunned.
So it could be that Oda attacked the Chairmen before they even got hostile or fired at her (she must be really fast

) so the game detected as she was the first who attacked.
TheCheshireKhajiit
Oct 17 2017, 08:45 PM
Well wouldn't refusing to surrender your weapons at the casino entrance be enough to get the shunned status? Khajiit believes it must be a law for The Strip in general because every casino requires this. Don't follow the law=negative reputation?

I tried a little test and went back to my save before going in the Tops, and this time she killed everyone in the first two rooms without getting Shunned. So I think that either I did hit a civilian by accident (which I doubt), or I attacked before the game decided the fight is on, or it is just a glitch. I might go back and just start playing from that save. I have not done a lot since then.

Sorry to butt into your New Vegas conversation.

Just wanted to be clear that "Renee Country" does not include Point Lookout. I have never been to Point Lookout, had no idea that it is the southernmost point of Maryland, you silly crow. Renee Country would be closer to D.C.'s mall itself. We go there usually once per year to see museums and stuff, though I have yet to see any super mutants roaming around. I have also been through Bethesda, Tenleytown, Silver Spring, several other places in that area.

You can still call it Renee Country though, Crowboy. I like it. I just ain't never been there.

Raided Point Lookout today. Not the whole place but I got through the NE part as well as the detention camp which, for the first time evah, was completely empty. I
swear I left the bots up and running when I left the place last year! There usually are at least a couple ghouls there if anything.
I also for the first time took Pilk's safari offer. Not what I had expected and a little bit underwhelming, but I suppose it could be a fun thing to do once every fall

They probably "forgot to spawn" when the cell loaded. If you saved the game in the middle of the camp and reloaded, you'd probably end up swarmed by bots. It happened in Ally's game when she entered the completely empty camp then had a CTD so I had to reload, and all ghouls and bots were back.

Who the hell is that?

I had to use the Fallout wiki to check on this guy. If any of my characters ever met him, I obviously forgot all about it.
EDIT: He even has a quest linked to him? Interesting, now I'm even more sure I've never ran into him or at least I've never talked to him. I wondered, though, why the guy in one of Novac motel rooms has an option during dialogue, asking you if you know anyone in search of singers. He's related to Torini's quest.

I even looked at Torini in the Geck, and I do not see anything about him that is different from Benny's other henchmen. He is in the same factions as the Rad Pack, whom I did not get Shunned for killing. His alignment is Neutral (same the Rad Pack and the Chairmen). And he shot first, same as all the others. But Cho is about to head southwest to Rockland Car Tunnel to meet up with some Paladin. Broken Steel stuff. Since his game is now on PC, I already made a follower for him to travel with. Some other guy who I imagine lived in Vault 101. I'm thinking of adding some music to his game too, but it'll be old country tunes, and jazz and stuff which fits the game a little more. No heavy metal like Janet's got in her game.

Pipboy Recording App ON, Date: 03.03.78 7:33 AM
Cho here. Hey alls. Well it's ... so much has happened, Pipboy App, I don't know where to start. Well let's start by going back to where it all started. Which was me waking up a couple of weeks ago. Like, I don't remember much of what happened, but alls I know is when I came to, there was some older guy, telling me all sorts of thigns. I had basically fell over inside of the Jefferson Memorial, trying to activate some computer for Project Purity. Couldn't make it work though. The radiation was too strong. I don't know. None of this I remember at all. Last thing I remember was running along with some giant robot. And I mean, really big. As big as a building! Break.
I need to keep this short. Making these recordings really puts a drain on my Pip Boy. Anyway, apparently the Enclave is defeated, and Project Purity has been implemented. They say the water is fresh, back in the Citadel they say this. But I don't know. Something is still wrong with it. I'd rather drink dirty water, to be honest. Break.
I met up with a guy in Megaton. His name was Phil.... *unidentified word*. I think his last name was *unidentified word*. [censored]. I don't think my Pip Boy App knows that word. It's because his last name is not really a word. Heck, what does it matter now? The guy already got killed. ... Turns out, Phil was yet another defector from Vault 101. Yup. He escaped from there. I didn't know him very well. But we began traveling together toward Tenpenny Tower. He was pretty good. Got cut down yesterday though, unfortunately. Dammit. He was good. But no match for a [censored] deathclaw, face to face. Break.
Tenpenny Tower was great to visit again. Matter of fact, I've got a place in there now. I've got my own apartment, rented for the next month or so. Really swanky! I can't wait to make it mine, you know? Damn. I wonder what Marge is up to. Break.
And now I am here. At Rockland Car Tunnel. About to meet this lady.
*unidentified sounds, Pipboy App cannot decipher .... 10 seconds ... 20 seconds....
Okay, I see someone ahead. Not a lady though. Looks like one of the Citadel paladin guys. I'm walking up to him now. ...HEY! ... Hey you! My name's Cho. Cho Zenwahn.
unidentified male voice Hey, it's good to see you awake! Paladin Tristan is just inside. He's waiting for you.
Oh, Paladin Tristan is a man? Okay, my bad. Well hey. Can you tell me what all this is about?
unidentified male voice: Head on in. Tristan is waiting for you.
Cool. Got it, my brother. Guess I'll head on in. Break.
Well, it's good to make another recording again. Not much more to say.

Cho here. Woo! Just got done tearing apart the Enclave Satellite Facility, heavens to mercy that was a lot of fun! ... They basically sent me in there with a few reinforcements, but they were all wearing power armor. Not condusive to sneaking around in. My gosh. Wonder if I'm getting paid for all of this? Break.
Basically though, we stormed the place, about 30 0f us, plus that giant robot guy. His name is Liberty Prime, Pipboy App, or at least that was his name. Poor guy fell. Yup. They got him somehow. Ever seen a robot as big as a house blow to pieces? Well you're about to. Break.
Because once I got in there, you know, once I was in the facility, I began luring those Enclave out, one by one. You know.... if *unidentified sound* too tough, I'd have to lure them out. But half of them, I managed by myself with bombs, my assault rifle, and, of course, lots of luck. And if I couldn't take 'em, it was then time to sweeten the honey, so to speak. Lure 'em out. Once the Enclave were outside, maybe one or two at a time, they'd now have to deal with an entire platoon of Brotherhood! Yeah, that was bad ass! Break.
And the cool thing was, as I was downloading all their satellite data, which we're gonna use somehow to learn some of their secrets, I happened to get into another section of their mainframe. Which housed all sorts of pictures. Apparently, they got that whole place rigged up. The whole time we were attacking them, their security cameras captured the whole ordeal. Here, have a look. Hey what's up you people out there in the Wasteland? One of these days I'm going to do something with all these recordings I think. Maybe I will put them into some sort of open storage. Like a resource of some sort, for others to listen to. Yeah. That seems to be the idea. Break.
Well today I have a new partner with me. His name, Pipboy App is Colin *unidentified word*. That last name is spelled A L L K A R Z, Pipboy App. Here he is.Colin Allkarz: Ahh, hello there.Colin will be traveling with me to Olney Paperworks. Met him down in the Citadel, so he's Brotherhood, just like I am. He is originally from Boston, too. He's got one of those funny accents. Look at its craftsmanship.
Damn right. And it's a Miroku.Colin Allkarz: It's a mirror what? It's a Miroku. Which is a Japanese gun. Prewar, no doubt. It is genuine. Colin Allkarz: Err ahh get out of here. You're [censored] ing me! Dude, look at the template on its barrel. It's got a serial number, when's the last time you saw one of those which actually matched the number on the gun's butt? ... I researched it. One of the scribes has a prewar book about guns, this thing is genuine. Colin Allkarz: Well how in hell did you get your hands on it? Must be worth a fortune.I did some ... uh ... unofficial work for Scribe L. Scrabble. Don't tell anybody. The Brotherhood wants me to stick to their main causes out there, you know. But Scribe L. Scrabble pulled me aside one day. Asked me if I'd like to make some extra caps, and of course I said yeah. The Brotherhood isn't paying me dick to do all this running around, you know? Anyway, he wanted me to return to Super Duper Mart. Apparently some asshole raiders returned there, and if I took care of this problem, Scribe L. Scrabble would pay me like 500 extra caps. The Citadel can handle it, believe me. They're not paying me enough, you know?Colin Allkarz: 500 caps, and this gun, eh? Don't tell anyone. Seriously. I don't know what could happen, but I think the Brotherhood would find it *unidentified word*, or something. Not very noble. Colin Allkarz: Well does the thing work? Sure it does. There's something up ahead. I'll see if I can use my new pet bloatfly to take pictures of them while I blow their brains out! Colin Allkarz: You have a pet bloatfly? What the [censored]? Where is it?Oh it's around here somewhere. I strapped a camera to it. It's been trained to fly around during combat, hopefully I can get some cool shots from it. The Kid and the Ghoul
In only a few hours everyone Bryan Wilks knew and loved, was dead, and his hometown of Grayditch was besieged by ferocious fire ants that were engulfing in flames anyone that crossed their path. Desperate, little Bryan barely escaped from deadly ants and as he was about to give up all the hope, he saw Him – the police officer.
Until now Bryan Wilks saw police officers only in pre-war books, most notably Guns and Bullets and La Fantoma and he had no idea what one of them was doing in the Capital Wasteland because they were supposedly long gone but as soon as he saw Him, his child’s sixth sense told him that his problems might come to an end.
And he was very much right! Police officer PP Barlow immediately recognized the kid in need and as little Bryan told him of fire ants gone mad in his hometown, PP Barlow needed no more information to act against the invading ants.
Two hundred years ago ants weren’t a problem and none of them breathed fire and if you stomped on them, they died just fine, but PP Barlow already learned that after the bombs fell, some ants mutated and were now much more deadly than some other wasteland creatures.
He wouldn’t mind a team of firemen backing him up but he assumed that searching for firemen might take too much time and in this situation immediate action was necessary. As soon as he led little Bryan to safety, PP Barlow began dealing with fire ants – he weakened them from a safe distance with his modified police pistol, then finished them off with his police baton, eponymously named Barlow’s peacemaker.
He was caught on fire many times but compared to what radiation did to his skin many years ago, being on flames felt like tickling. Still, he had to be careful not to damage his uniform too much, after all it was widely known that as soon as people see his blue outfit, they recognize him as their shining beacon, an oasis in the middle of a desert, a lighthouse in rough seas.
After the ants and their queen were dealt with, PP Barlow brought the scientist who caused havoc in Grayditch to Bryan Wilks and together they sentenced him – though at first PP Barlow wanted to execute him on the spot, he and Bryan together decided that the scientist should learn to survive on his own in the wasteland, except that without clothes, without weapons and without any supplies. For a change he should rely on himself only, not on his experimental ants, servant robots and mutagens.
As the naked scientist was running from Grayditch, PP and Bryan paid respects to Bryan’s father who died defending their house from the ants. Since the kid’s only living relative was now in Rivet City, PP Barlow decided to take him there, and so the kid and the ghoul together left Grayditch.

All right, PP makes his grand return for 2018! I like the part when he thinks about calling the fire department.

Nice touch. There is no such thing as 911 anymore, unfortunately.
(when you call 911 in America, the fire department, police, and EMTs can possibly show up all at once).
I can't believe he'd go against fire ants with just a pistol and a baton!
