Not at the shrine, past it. If you follow the trail and up the steps westward. There's always a daedra there.

I have four. One which makes skooma illegal (guards confiscate it), a skooma pipe mod (I saw an NPC smoking in Silverhome-on-the-Water the other day...) . A skooma lab which we've never been to, and finally my own content, which adds all the dialog interactions, etc. 🍼

Oh, cool.

Think she does, but I'm talking about playing, and then describing what's going on here at Chorrol. Dozens of us participated at Bethsoft, but now we're the only ones left. Which is fine, I was just making an observation. I still play Morrowind and Skyrim too, but it's hard to maintain discussion in a thread when you're the only one adding comments into it.. kvleft.gif

My Dunmer is in Dzonot Cave, on the west side of the City. He makes one sale to a Black Bow Bandit. A pretty Bosmer lady's not interested ("Come back later", she says). And ... uh oh.

"Pay up, OR ELSE!" Khajiit bandit males sometimes pick up on Highwayman dialog. Time to summon a zombie! panic.gif

Does it happen that Snaat gets reported by a denying customer?

Lothran is enjoying a slow day within the walls of Bruma. Having cleared out the mine and the cave, as well as the road out west, he felt like it was time to do nothing for awhile biggrin.gif

What month is it in his game? Is it actually winter, ya know? If it's not winter, let's say it's High Sun, do you consider this somehow?

QUOTE

Oh yes. Through random dialog, it is possible for someone to "cawl the gawds!" which adds 40 to my dealer's bounty. indifferent.gif That is something upper-class citizens occasionally do, bandits and lower class (like the Waterfront) won't do this.

Shopkeepers can also tempban my Dunmer if he tries to sell to them. "SetTrespassAlarm" is the script for that. This causes them to say "You're not supposed to be in here!" and "Get OUT of here!" laugh.gif Exactly the same as if we get caught trespassing in someone's house, a guard will show up if Snaaty doesn't vacate quick. panic.gif

Anyway, it's Middas, Last Seed 7, and my elf just won at the Arena again. Two hundred gold, from the blue team. He's got the best intuition for which team to pick. smile.gif I wouldn't call it luck. His actual Luck is 51.

No. I have Lothran's schedule follow our seasons, as I have done for many years now. Even if I tried I just couldn't follow in-game seasons as they change too fast which would mess with my head; we have winter but Lothran's in Anvil?? Unthinkable! panic.gif panic.gif

Cool!
Renee
Ha ha I understand. I've considered different seasons by changing settings on my TV for years. Red tint gets used more often during warmer months, blue during cooler months. I also have a couple snow mods for Bruma, which I recently removed for my elf's game because it's currently Last Seed (equivalent to July).

BOT: gamed with my skooma dealer yesterday, who is now in Chorrol. Sold a few vials to the bandits of Crumbling Mine (or is it Cursed Mine? always get those two confused). He was headed into town for some R&R when his game CTD'd.

Sometimes after a CTD I take that as a sign that I've had enough Oblivion for one day. biggrin.gif I had lunch and then switched to Baldu's Gate. Huzzah!!

Renee
Tirdas, Sun's Dusk 19, 4th Era, Year : I return to Lady's Saga's game today. She is in the town of Sutch, eating some pumpkin.

Saga lives an even more random life than my skooma dealer does. She pretty much just explores. However, lately she has picked up a quest. ohmy.gif She's found a Dwarven Cylinder, and somehow now knows about The Orrery. So she's headed to the Imperial City next.

This is what I like; coming up with solutions like this when you have no ability to add mods! Gr8 thinking! goodjob.gif

Nice to see that Saga is still going strong. And in the town of Sutch, no less. Would you say it's gameworld lore friendly or is it obvious that it's a mod (different font for writings on signs etc)?`

---------------------------------------
Lothran is now outside Rielle. He went there expecting maybe an ogre and some wildlife, but instead he found himself facing no less than three (3) ogres! ohmy.gif Well, at least he did after shooting one with an arrow and another with a spell to get their attention.... biggrin.gif

rollinglaugh.gif Yeah, there's an entire thread of "pretend mods" somewhere in the archived forums! I seem to recall Acadian and Wyrd and glargg (etc.) also pretended quite a lot, even though y'all had access to the full catalog of Nexus and PES back in those days.

QUOTE
This is what I like; coming up with solutions like this when you have no ability to add mods! Gr8 thinking!

Even with mods, I still do this one: when entering a cave, a fort, or some ruins, I push some buttons on my TV remote which makes interiors darker. emot-ninja1.gif Bc mods like Darker Dungeons don't go far enough for me.

However... if I'm with an elf, such as Lady Saga, I won't darken lairs. Elves are supposed to have slightly superior vision in the table games, see.

Hmm, where is Rielle? Okay, well somewhere near Bruma. Saga is nowhere near. Last I saw, she's about to enter the second zone of Linchal. Necromancers in there *shudders* emot-ninja1.gif

mirocu
If Saga is a summoner, she can sneak around and summon something and then just sit back and enjoy the show biggrin.gif
Renee
That's her method, crow. Sneak up on an enemy. Loose an arrow. If the enemy survives, summon a bear (Witchcraft) or summon five rats. 🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀 She can go invisible, use a poison, or simply run if all else fails. panic.gif I've got a couple videos showing how she does it, somewhere.

"How do you do?"

Right now she's in Arpenia, in the province of Valenwood. The mod author for Valenwood Improved really did a top-notch job with Arpenia, which is the immediate town south of Skingrad. I mean, Arpenia is really pretty. Lots of NPCs, an imaginative landscape (town is built on the side of mountain). wub.gif The road through Arpenia criss-crosses up the mountain.

Unfortunately, he abandoned the project. kvleft.gif Rest of Valenwood is buggy and half-finished. kvleft.gif Anyway, she's got a house in Arpenia where she stores all her riches. She doesn't trust banks!

Today I'm in the middle of taking a couple Field Hippies on a private tour of the shivering Isles.
Renee
Yikes, sorry!
mirocu
That's great, macole! Don't give your hippies to much Isles grass, though.... wink.gif biggrin.gif

------------------------
Today while once again clearing out Plundered Mine, Lothran's Basic Protection spell proved its worth. At one point at the start of the mine, Lothran got knocked down by one of the goblins and before the effect was over, he was hit by another one! All while the ferocious goblins kept striking down on him! ohmy.gif panic.gif
The weak protection of the fur armor was quickly beaten but thanks to the shield enchantment Lothran still had a 45 protection and thanks to the spell his health kept going up and by the time the knockdown effect was over, he was back up at full health! biggrin.gif

The rest of the mine was done as per usual and Lothran left it with a good portion of gold and some lockpicks. Next up; Capstone Cave.
Acadian
Yeah, macole, if the hippies get too much grass they turn from field hippies into high elves IPB Image
macole
So that's where high elves come from. I'll be sure to monitor their consumption.

I like that gif, btw.

Middas, Sun's Dusk 27, mid-day - Lady Saga is headed to the Imperial City, but as usual is taking a non-direct way to get there. As usual, she's got a generic Forest Legionnaire traveling with her. These guys are great because not only are the adept at living outdoors, there's little worry (on my end) if they survive or not.

Whoa, Silorn! She's been here before, but doesn't remember what's inside. She calls her horse and tells the guard to watch over the hooved beast. Time to do a little exploring... Whoops, nope, place is locked. Can't go inside. But Bloodcrust Cavern is also somewhere nearby. evillol.gif Anyone up for some vampire hunting?

mirocu
QUOTE(Renee @ Feb 9 2025, 11:56 PM) *

Of course! But not until Easter, I'm afraid. Lothran is stationed in Bruma for yet another month and then it's time for Chorrol. As in the town, not the forums tongue.gif
Renee
Well Lady Saga vanquished Bloodcrust Cavern a little too easily, it seems. Yes she was using a crossbow with silver bolts, making stealth killz and summoning creatures if her archery didn't instapwn the vampires. evillol.gif

But still.... vampires are way harder if Joan or RG3 takes them on. Most vampires need to be lured into sunlight in their games. blink.gif My elf/stealth archer did some buying/selling in Skingrad and now has the desire to go straight east. There's some Ayleid ruins that way and so on. She's always enjoying the hunt & exploration.

Today is my daughter's birthday. cake.gif But also a snow day. We've been getting a lot of snow in Maryland this winter.

mirocu
Lothran has just completed yet another patrol westward and like last time there was a Xivilai waiting at the turnback point (past the Hermaeus Mora's shrine). Now he's back in his cozy house in Bruma, it's evening, and the inns are waiting for him happy.gif
Acadian
Have Lothran say hi to Olav!

Not for long though; I didn't realize this but this Sunday is actually the day when Lothran will be leaving Bruma and the Jeralls! ohmy.gif

Lothran has now left Bruma for the season and was last seen, by a patrolling legionnaire, just connecting to the Orange Road going to Chorrol. The perpetual snowing of the last three months has suddenly stopped and been replaced by clear skies and sunshine.

Spring has arrived to Cyrodiil! happy.gif
Acadian
Happy travels as we mark our seasons by them. smile.gif
mirocu
IF you don't know what time of year it is, just come to this thread laugh.gif

--------------------------------------
Lothran has just arrived in Chorrol and is currently resting under The Great Oak. This year he will have much more time in Chorrol county than last year on account Easter comes later in 2025 than in 2024 when he barely even set foot in town before he had to leave for Skingrad.
Renee
Morndas, Evening Star 16, mid-morning, 4th Era Year 1: I return to Joan of Arkay, who is headed to Barren Cave to rid the vampires there. evillol.gif

And congrats on getting out of Bruma alive once again. cake.gif One of these days all the goblins and Pale Pass ogres are going to band together, and find the platinum-haired elf who keeps decimating their populations. panic.gif That'll be a crazy story to tell. Huzzah!

mirocu
Thankfully he has a crowd control spell that doesn't care how many there are, only that they are within range... biggrin.gif

---------------------------
Edit:

Lothran is currently roaming the beautiful countryside of county Chorrol. He just revisited Black Rock Caverns and fought some spectral pirates. Funnily enough, as their ghostly presence was dispatched, Lothran found he could take their equipment which instantly turned solid from their ethereal form! laugh.gif He also found a regular female Khajiit bandit who behaved and talked like a Highwayman. He paid her the 100 gold and then proceeded to smoothtalk her up to 98 in disposition, so now he has a new best friend! biggrin.gif

Edit 2:

So yeah, Lothran has been here before but for some reason he spared them then. But now, just like the ghosts deep down fort Pale Pass, they have been put to rest.

Edit 3:

Camp Ales. This is as far south Lothran will go for now. Next up: Valley View Camp.
Renee
I'd imagine 100 gold is nothing to Lothran, right? That female kitty should've hit him up for more!

Shortie update today. It's Evening Star 22 and Joan of Arkay is in Cheydinhal. And it's SNOWING! blink.gif

Lothran's making the rounds I see.

He's not as rich as he used to be but yeah, 100 gold is peanuts. And since she was a bandit and not a Highwayman proper, Lothran could sweet talk up her disposition instead of bribing her smile.gif

Same here yesterday. Lothran's in Chorrol and -8 Celsius and snow indifferent.gif
mirocu
Yesterday was funny, a fight broke out between the woman and the man who have dogs in Chorrol. Lothran had gone inside their house where she stood right at the door. Then her husband came down whereupon she immediately attacked him and he fought back. Then he tried to escape but the door was locked so he couldn't. Lothran was kind enough to let him out via his spell so he ran outside and she followed.
Outside the guards interfered and killed him and she walked away. Lothran used his ultra-special powers and resurrected him, only for him to be killed yet again! tongue.gif

This time Lothran waited until the wife had gone inside the house before bringing him back to life, and he just casually walked back to the house as well. No idea what happened after that.

Only in Oblivion! laugh.gif
Acadian
This could be quite fun to put a crown over both their heads. Then if they get into another fight, it could be a very, very, very long one?
mirocu
I'm afraid that could result in the biggest mass fight ever, involving the whole of Cyrodiil! rollinglaugh.gif
Renee
That's hilarious. Probably you don't want to head inside their house, that's true. It's what the police call 'domestic disturbance' in my country. whistling.gif

Loredas, Evening Star 28, weather is cool but fair, and Joan of Arkay is headed to Chorrol, Battlehorn Castle, Hackdirt and finally Fort Carmala. Being a mistress of Arkay, we all know why she's going to Carmala. evillol.gif But it'll be nice to go home to her castle, as well.

UPDATE: Tirdas, Evening Star 31, wow, what a crazy gaming session. Joan got to Carmala the day before (Morndas) and decided to rent a room at Moslin Inn. She does so, then immediately afterward the innkeeper begins attacking her! panic.gif She didn't want to fight the guy, so she rushes out the inn. But then outside the Brethren (all those creepy shirtless guys) began showing up!

She fought these idiots initially, but had to flee. Because by then it was like 10 to 1, including Moslin. Her guard was nowhere to be seen, not that he could've done much to help. She got on her horse and galloped all the way to Chorrol!

But today, Tirdas, things improved. She's killed all the vampires of Fort Carmala. Just as she's ready to do a final sweep through the fort, collecting loot, etc. her Chorrol Archer guard comes running up. "Can I assist you, ma'am?" laugh.gif
mirocu
I'd suggest Ms Joan to invest in a heavy crowd control spell. That way it doesn't matter how many there are against her biggrin.gif

---------------------------
Lothran has now returned to his shack at the Imperial City Waterfront. It was a nice few weeks in Chorrol and the county but now it's time for a change of attire and to conduct some business in the Big City before once again heading out to Skingrad.
mirocu
Funny thing; when Lothran entered the Tiber Septim hotel yesterday, he was met by a doe. Yes; a doe. A deer. A female deer blink.gif

Lothran still uses the shack? What's inside it after 17-18 years?

Joan of Arkay rests in Battlehorn Castle, and whoa, she's gained a level. She is now Level 18. She gains the following.

Strength: +2 (50 overall)
Willpower: +2 (90 overall, she's a crusader after all)
Speed: +2 (44 overall)

Joan's a very slow character, this is true in MW too. It's because she's Heavy Armored tank, who is more about being deliberate and methodical than quick on her feet.

Pretty much the same as maybe 15 years ago. Nothing much has changed since then honestly. He's got some nick-nacks laying around and the drawers full of stuff; the only thing that changes sometimes btw when he adds something to the collection.

Renee
I probably do have some pictures of Battlehorn Castle. Mainly her bedroom is decorated: keys on a desk, a treasure trove next to her fireplace, carefully-placed items here and there. Yeah let me check.

She is now in Chorrol and since it's Sundas, this means she's sitting in chapel. 💒 And sitting in chapel. I'm serious. That's what she's doing today, sitting in chapel because it's Sundas. That'll be my entire roleplay with her for the day.

Thankfully Chorrol's chapel attracts a lot of people so there's plenty of silly conversations to listen to!

EDIT: A-bomb struck Joan's game! Pretty sure it's the first time too. 336 hours is when it struck.
Renee

Tirdas, Morning Star 7: Joan of Arkay returns to Roland Jenseric and gets paid for smiting the vampires of Fort Carmala.

Her next assignment is try to put a dent in the vampire populations near Skingrad, and this is a 3-fold task. One set of vamps is in an Ayleid ruins, the other set in a fort, the third in the cave just east of Skingrad. evillol.gif evillol.gif evillol.gif I can't remember their names but Joan knows and has been to each of the three locations in the past. This'll probably be the last Joan update until the summer. In April I switch to RG3.

Today Lothran went outside the Big City and had some fun with the marauders at Fort Alessia. Don't know how it turned out; Lothran left the two bozos and went back to the fort tongue.gif
