So Niamh is heading slowly back to the IC
And so is Lothran. He takes his time though (as I want to feel that it really is a long way to go from Anvil) and this time he actually stopped by Kvatch. To his surprise, the fires were still raging and nothing had been cleaned up after all these years

In our version of Cyrodiil, Savlian is very much alive and stands inside the everburning castle, talking about how Kvatch has been rebuilt from ashes before and it can be done again.
Well, by the Nine Divines

Whilst I don't have my notes with me to do a full commentary on Niamh's comings and goings from Bravil onwards until "now", I figured it would make an interesting change to look at things from Luciana's point of view, so here goes:
QUOTE
And so she's gone again, to who knows where and for who knows how long; not even she herself, perhaps. She leaves in her wake a scatter of jewels and trinkets, precious gems and one small bouquet of dead, rather sad looking flowers.
Luciana laughs, but not mockingly.
"They were awroight when ah found 'em!" Niamh had exclaimed the previous evening, when she had got back to Luciana's home. She had held them out awkwardly, a big grin on her pale face.
The other woman had smiled. "It's very sweet, Niamhy." She had said, taking the little bunch from the other. One or two faded petals broke off and drifted feather-like to the wooden floor of the shack. She refrained from asking where they had come from, she had made that mistake once before with a jewelled amulet, never again!
"Sweet? Sweet b'damned, Looch!" The Bosmer winked at her mischeviously. "A jes' wanna get into ye keks!"
Luciana had rolled her eyes at this, but again, not in a bad way. She was too glad to see the Wood Elf, however briefly - (and she knew it would be brief).
Besides, she had grown used to her paramour's lack of savoir-faire and almost wilfull ignorance of what constituted romance - (Luciana had her doubts that Niamh even knew how to spell the word) - she had, in fact, come to regard Niamh's straightforwardness, her bluntness, and enhusiastic approach to, well, everything, as really quite refreshing and actually very endearing rather than anything else.
Add to that the fact that, after an admittedly somewhat rocky start to their relationship, the Bosmer seemed to have become as genuinely fond of Luciana as she herself - (yes, actually) - was of her; certainly the former was fiercely protective of Luciana, and more than one unfortunate and overly-attentive customer in The Lonely Suitor had the scars to prove it.
In all, even if Luciana was not yet "Completely Happy", she would have been the first to admit that she was undoubtedly "Very Happily Content".
Niamh's bringing back of gifts from her travels and her increasingly frequent, but still cutely awkward displays of affection; the flowers, the appallingly spelt letters from hither and yon, not to mention her constant use of the nickname "Looch", only served to reinforce Luciana's sense that the Elf really was serious in her commitment to their burgeoning relationship.
Mind you, the Bosmer's physicality and obvious enjoyment with respect to "other" aspects of their time together were most certainly not unwelcome or ill-received, even if Luciana had suffered the odd bruise and, on one occasion, a sprained ankle.
Standing outside her home, on the balcony above Niamh's front door, she looks out over the town of Bravil.
It is early morning, very early, and the town is lit by the lambent glow of the rising sun; its rays chasing still-long shadows down into the waterways and alleys.
She shivers a little in the chilly air and draws her shawl more tightly around her shoulders. She directs her gaze to the Chapel and the over to the right, to where she knows the main gate is, though she cannot see it from her position.
She smiles ruefully, draws a breath.
And so she's gone again, somewhere east maybe, but who knows? Not even Niamh, Luciana suspects.
She went almost before it was light - (such a brief stay, this time!) - Luciana was still muzzy from sleep. An embrace, a kiss, some soft words; an assurance of return, and then away.
She takes a sip of her coffee, wincing a little at its strength and heat.
She wishes Niamh would stay, wishes she would tarry for longer than a night, a day, a week. Does she miss her?
Yes.
Increasingly the days seem longer, stretching away to some unseen terminus, each blurring dully into the other whilst she goes about her chores or serves customers in the Suitor, all with an air of stoic perseverance; dreading the night, but longing for the morning - another day closer to some notional return, The Return, of her new-found partner.
Then for a brief time her life restarts and she is whole again.
And yet...
...A bundle of nervous energy, Niamh, a bowstring pulled taut. To snap that string, to stop up the spring of life and passion for movement and experience that flows so deep and fast from the Bosmer, would be to take away part of what makes Niamh, Niamh.
It's a part of what Luciana found so fascinating about the Elf in the first place, and she could no more stop that than she could think the sun from the sky, besides, She knows that Niamh herself will never change - she's too headstrong and wild, and despite her obvious affection, Luciana knows Niamh would hate her if she tried.
None of it matters though, Luciana knows that beneath all of the brashness and the uncouth ways lies a sometimes hinted at darkness - a wound too deep and ragged to fully heal - and a softness too that, on occasion, escapes from the shield built around it and runs free, for a while.
She knows this and she knows also that Niamh is trying, and trying hard, to be at least in part more of what she thinks Luciana would like her to be.
Luciana just wants her to be herself, but to make some room for her as well - (that said, she's quite glad that Niamh has started bathing more often, only once or twice, but it's a start).
A woman of secrets and mysteries then but, thinks Luciana as she gazes out over the slowly waking town, they've come a long way already, and she just knows that they'll have all the time they need to go further still.
Still smiling, she brushes a wayward strand of hair from her face, and with a last look to the gates she turns back to her home, for the time being a quieter and somehow larger place...
...and even though Niamh has only been gone an hour or two, she can't help wondering when that first letter will arrive.
Humming a tune, she puts down her mug and prepares to tidy the bed.

Abiene has finally moved into the Chapel of Stendarr thanks to two handy open grain sacks for storage and officially joining the Nine Divines faction (console command). Her rank is Layman.
Lildereth moved out of Shetcombe Farm (she was using two slaughterfish for storage) and into her room at the Wobbly Goblet. She’s taken over the upstairs alcove. A lot of her stuff is actually Jerric’s. Shields, swords, daggers, lots of flax seeds. She just loaded it up without a word and dragged it all to County Chorrol. I was shaking my head over it.
I still can’t remember where Darnand left his stuff. It’s possible that he doesn’t actually have any. Anyway he’s not concerned about whatever he may have left somewhere. That tells me that he hasn’t had a chance to collect many books. He’s moved his alchemy gear into the Goblet. He likes to work in the upper suite, but he sleeps in the room on the second floor. It’s hard to get him to go on adventures, but now he has some incentive. His own desk and some empty shelves.

Jerric’s version of moving to a new place is to just start living there. He tends to accumulate things by not getting rid of stuff but doesn’t trouble himself about keeping them. He strode up the stairs at the Goblet, kicked off his boots, and tried out the bed.
What about moving in? I asked him. Puzzled brow from Jerric. “I just did.”

Grits - Nice to see Jerric's gang all converging around Chorrol. What a beautiful area of forests! I'm sure Lil agrees.
Buffy ended up selling her Bravil home to Aradroth quite some time ago. When in towns, she stays at her guild hall. She also has a beautiful apartment at the University that dear KC made for her - that is the 'permanent' address she uses for her considerable correspondence.
If asked where home is though, she'll happily sigh, reach one hand around behind her and fondly tap the saddlebags that adorn her precious mare.

Niamh's gone off to Caldera.
Two reasons really, the first is that Kendral and her father were from Morrowind and she kind of feels she owes it to the both of them to find, and terminate - (with extreme prejudice) - the vampire covens that she knows, despite what the locals say, are about the environs of caldera.
She arrived very early in the morning and following a brief rest began asking around. Previous adventures in Morrowind involving the garnering of information on vampires had always left her with the curious feeling that the inhabitants really rather enjoyed "talking about not talking about them".
Things have not changed, and various nods and winks later she found herself outside the settlement, and inside a cave...
...and guess what...?
----
The second reason, one that she did not want to admit, but needed to face was the laying to rest finally of a ghost from her past, and hence the visit is not only a release from earthly shackles - (albeit unwillingly on their part) - of the "Wamphyri" - but an exorcism for her, as well.

I'll be finally starting Jack soon!
Just to recap to those who missed it!
I'm going to only post here from now on with my new charcter.
Beth admins have annoyed me(not allowing NPC Convo threads all of a sudden, not allowing What are you listening to threads, etc)
Name:Jack Dennius
Age:18
Height:5''11
Weight:180lbs
Bio:Jack was apart of a rich noble family back in Skyrim, and well,he wasn't the nicest of kids,he was basically a rich snobish bully, yet he still had many friends, because of his money, but all of his other friends were also rich snobs. His mother and father couldn't be any more diffrent, they were kind, loving, generous souls,Jack took them for granted,he didn't know how good he had it until that faithful Sundas in Sun's Dawn, the farm just outside of Whiterun, the farm where jack lived was raided and destroyed. But that wasn't all Jack's parents were killed and Jack was almost kidnapped but he ran away, the invaders were there to kidnap Jack, kill no one and put him up for ransom, but thanks to a bumbling bandit who knocked over a candle setting the place on fire,an angry bandit who attempted to kill the bumbling bandit accidently shot Jack's mother and had to kill his father who ran at him.Now this isn't a revenge story, this isn't a story of a knight or wizard, this is the story a young man with a small amount of skill when it comes to blades,no skill in armour or magic or anything else really, trying to make it in an unfamiler world with little to no money.
Jack knows he'll never find the bandits who killed his parents,Jack knows they've died in vain,Jack knows he shouldn't of acted in the ways he did,Jack wants to change, well a little atleast.
Jack wants another thing to,his fourtune,he wants to be a noble,he couldn't stay in Skyrim,so he sneaked onto a boat to Cyrodiil,he has the mentallilty of fiddy, coz Jack is going to get rich or die trying.
Hopefully the former.
Yes I made a 50 Cent refrence in an Oblivion charcter bio.

Today has been, well let's see shall we?
LEYAWIIN:
She never really thieved anymore, but still she liked to keep her hand in - that Thieves' Guild thing was still hanging about since ages ago and you never knew when it might come in handy. So occasionally she would break into somewhere just to prove to herself that she still could.
And so it was that she found herself in the Count of Leyawiin's private residence, the way in had been no trouble; the power of her will flowed through her, focusing at her finger tips, she had both heard and felt the lock click, and the door softly open.
Now, she stood outside the Count's personal sanctum, against the wall, behind the guard the standing, bored, on duty there.
She could smell the metallic tang of his armour, the musty scent of leather, and the sweaty smell of his skin beneath. He had a large boil on his neck and he smelt vaguely of onions and cabbage.
She'd been standing behind him for some time now, utterly silent, the sneak suit muffling any movements she made and rendering her all-but invisible to the any but the most keen-eyed observer.
The guard suspected nothing, merely shifted occasionally from foot-to-foot, and quietly clearing his throat.
Occasionally another guard would unlock the door and pass out, or enter through it, and her heart would, even through her confidence, thrill with the idea that she could still be found out.
All was quiet now, and Niamh, close enough to have stolen his undershorts had she a mind too, instead raised her hand and...
...with the tip of one long, gloved finger oh-so-gently lifted up the back of the guard's helmet, causing the front of it to slip down over his eyes.
The man's breath caught in his chest and he spun around, fumbling with his helmet and half drawing his sword out of it's scabbard.
Niamh was already down the corridor and out of the door onto the balcony overlooking the main space of the castle entrance area.
"Still got it..." She grinned to herself. She'd not even stolen anything either.
Her slender frame slid catlike down the stairs and out of the main door, an apple disappearing from a table as she passed it.
Well, almost nothing.
THE NEXT DAY:
The morning did not start well, a bout of Vampire's Disease during the night had kept her awake, despite the spells that she had woven about herself and when the light, milky where it filtered through the city's fogs, found it's way through her window, she lay sweating and exhausted upon the damp sheets.
Things did not improve, following a hurried breakfast of ale and a vial of skooma, she located her horse at the stables just outside the gate and purposed to make her way north to Bravil, and Luciana; for whom she had increasingly felt a desire to be with for longer than just a night or a few meagre hours snatched between "business".
She encountered dreugh on her way, but galloped through the first group, coming upon the second though she stopped on a whim to help out a young forester who was beset by them.
This was a mistake as, whilst helping - (for no concrete reason) - another of the creatures attacked her horse, wounding it before she could get there.
The dreugh lay dead, it's chitinous exoskeleton clicking and grinding as it rolled away down the hill towards the water. She looked at the horse, which returned her gaze with dewy, mournful eyes. Blood was flowing freely from a nasty looking gash on it's haunch.
Niamh sighed, "Stupid animal." She said, though she didn't really mean it. She remembered her last horse, years ago, felled by a wolf.
She stroked it's nose and turning, looked down at the road, empty now but for the shrimp-like carcasses of the dreugh.
"This is why ah should nevva help people." She shook her head. "It jes leads ta trubble, so it does."
Still Bravil, and Looch, was not far off; there was that.
Having staunched the flow of blood and cleaned the wound as best as she could she mounted the now less-than enthusiastic horse and carried on along the road. Wanting to get home, her head still thumping from the previous night's illness; judgement clouded by even less sleep than was normal for her, not to mention the skooma pumping through her body, she could be forgiven for pushing her wounded mount beyond it's capacities.
Push she did, and upon arriving at 2 Troll bridge, not far south of Bravil, the inevitable happened.
In attempting to leap the creatures blocking the entrance to bridge she exposed the horse's flanks and underside to attack. Already weak from injury and bloodloss, her mount simply could not cope with her demands and, as the first of many slashing claws ruptured it's flesh it fell to the bridge, neighing in it's pain.
Instinct took over and Niamh rolled lithely forward over the horse's neck as it went down, using her momentum to carry her up onto her feet as she hit the rough wooden planks of the bridge.
She took off at a run then, there was no way she could have dealt with the trolls at that point, and though she regretted leaving the horse to it's fate with the stinking, whooping creatures, in the end it was her, or it...

Lildereth explored a fort today for the purpose of trying out some new voices. We both find her howling like a banshee when hit to be a little disruptive. The running commentary was different, but not better. Her solution (directed at me) was to not get hit so much.
Anyway on the way back home she kept a fear spell handy for wolves. When she arrived at the Goblet she found one of the horses out. So she cast a command spell to bring him back where he belongs. Only she still had the fear spell loaded.
Oops.
Lildereth does not move very fast up hills. A black horse is certainly faster, especially a frightened one. Also this was one of the resident Nord ladies’ horses, so she couldn’t just hop on and ride it back. That seemed rude.
Also it was raining. Funnily enough she decided to sleep outside instead of in her room.

Heh, I see mirocu banished the rain from Bravil by sending it to Chorrol!
Grits, Buffy uses a custom spell to get horses to trail along behind her. Command creature magnitude 2 x 120 seconds on target. Then she puts a tiny (3) feather on self component in the spell so she has a little arc timer to see how long the spell has left and knows when to recast it. Since normal horses are level 1, the very low magnitude of the command aspect of the spell ensures that it costs very little to cast. Of course, since Buffy's specialization is illusion it costs even less. She's had legion horses that have had their riders killed follow her and Superian from the middle of nowhere all the way to the nearest town that way. Same with Black Horse Courier horses.

Let's just say that narratively, we are entering a fairly harrowing period of revelation between the two, Niamh and Looch; much of which will not appear on here or the other forum in it's original format at least.

Lady Saga is in Chorrol, still dragging Erthor around. The two spent several days getting from Bleak Flats Cave to Chorrol, and managed to plunder an Ayleid ruin full of rats & imps, a bandit cave called Broken Promises (which had what looked to be an interrupted party at its front door--beer & ale bottles everywhere), and a goblin cave whose name escapes me. This cave is just west of Chorrol, though.
Erthor complains that he'd rather be back in Skingrad, but seems to be enjoying his adventuring, Saga thinks. She can see the battle lust in his eyes whenever he gets to summon another scamp, and attack another set of enemies.
EDIT, hours later: Saga made Level 2 in Crumbling Mine just outside of Chorrol. She got a genuine +5 +5 +5, too, which I dumped into Strength, Intelligence, and Endurance.

Erthor is actually pretty good on the battlefield, mostly because he often summons a scamp. There have been several times she'll get a sneak shot with her bow, but doesn't see the two or three
other enemies in the next room. She's not very good yet with multiple enemies, so she usually has to run back to where she's left Erthor. He takes over from there, and Saga can start using her bow again.

Niamh is heading west to Crowhaven, searching for vampires and engaging in some quid-pro-quo with an arena orc with ideas of nobility. She could not care less about that, but if pandering to his his delusions is what it takes, then...
Having passed through Fort Dirich, she finds herself in the depths of Talwinque, to the north and east of Kvatch.
She was not planning on coming here, but the most recent attack of the Vampire's Disease is slow to go this time, even with the spells she has woven. Fatigued and nauseous she figures she needs sleep and perhaps a touch of Skooma, just to take the edge off.
First though, before she can rest in the ruins, she needs to be done with their current inhabitants.

Oh crap! Lil just left a vampire lair. I don't think she got hit in there, but that's a good reminder.

This is one of the reasons I wish they made it a little more obvious when you have a disease. I do not often think to look in the active effects tab. It would be nice if a little icon appeared on the screen when you have a disease, like they do when you use spell buffs.

I like the way Skyrim does it ... the
wave of red which occasionally sweeps across the player's vision. I like it because the game informs the player that he/she's infected, but the player stiill might miss the moment when this bit of hand-holding shows up. A bit more challenge this way. But it would be cool the way you're suggesting, too. A character whose got a disease should be able to
feel something is wrong, and this feeling would then translate into an icon of communication.
Lady Saga is now in .... um... Shadow's Rest Cavern I think the place is called. Mostly imps in the first section, but dogs and rats in the second. Even though this seems only a nuisance lair, Saga is obsessed with exploring the entire damn place. Never know where an early magical item or a Spell Tome might be found.

Niamh's vision goes blurry when she has a disease, it comes in waves...

Fredas, 7:40 pm, Forst Fall 5, 3E438Lady Saga is leaving Chorrol, after several days of R&R, buying & selling, mixing up new potions & poisons, and also spell-shopping. She's taken a path none of my others have ever taken: Bound Armor. She noticed (with her poor Conjuration skills) that she can only cast Bound Gauntlets and Bound Boots. Since she wears cheap fur boots, the Bound Boots spell has come in handy here and there.
Eventually she'll start summoning creatures again. That'll be nice.
She and Erthor just cleared Crumbling Mine for the second time. Those bandits never seem to learn their lesson. The pair of wood elves are on their way to the Imperial City next, where Saga plans to fatten her spell book once again.
She decided to pay Erthor for tagging along with her. Despite the fact that she's already got 1856 gold, he only wanted 36 for now.

Well, you think that you know someone...
...So I learned that when Niamh shops, she does it like she does everything else and SHOPS. Following on from dealing with further vampires for Jenseric and sending an awkward letter to Kendral - (Niamh, now happily monogamous is genuinely uncomfortable with the young dunmer's attentions - albeit only hero worship) - she stopped off at the Bottleship Shop, just by Anvil harbour.
A few thousand septims later and she's bought half the shop and amassed a not inconsiderable amount of new clothes, and gone back for more, and exchanged some; and why? Looch, that's why.
It's nice to see her happy and actually just interested in herself and how she looks, Looch's influence is clearly good for her - (particularly since she understands that Niamh is ALWAYS going to be fundamentally Niamh) - personally I hope it lasts, because a crash from this, if it fails, could be catastrophic...
...but I think this is for keeps, and it's not like she can't afford to spend the septims!!

Rich Niamh

As it happens, Lothran is resting in the rain on the road between Bravil and Leyawiin. It´s early morning and he´s looking forward to a day or two in the southernmost cyrodiilic town

Renee, so glad that Lady Saga still has her puppy Erthor tagging along. As I've said before, not only is he adorable, but pretty effective too.
Phon, I'm glad to see Niamh developing an interest in fashion! I she she's been bitten by the shopping bug!
mirocu, the secret is not learning how to avoid the rain, but how to dance among its raindrops. I love the whole area from Bravil on south. The soft ferns, willows that gently lean over to kiss your shoulders, the warm life provided by Kyne's tears. . . .
*happy sigh*

I´m so with you here

That whole area is soothing, and the gentle rain just makes it perfect. (In all honesty, I had to use some console magic again to keep it from drying up...

)
Lothran only came to the Stallion Lodge before darkness fell, so he decided to spend the night there and reach Leyawiin the following morning instead. He might have gotten there sooner as he left Bravil in the early morning, but as the beauty of Cyrodiil kept poking him for attention, he could do nothing else but acknowledge it

He even went for a swim just north of Water´s Edge!

Arriving at the Imperial City, she stabled the horse - (another one) - and visited briefly the arena to give the brash Orc in the Bloodworks the "good news" about his family.
Then she stopped at Divine Elegance.
Following that she went to the waterside shack where she had once lived, inside she dug through the detritus of her former life and packed such things as she deemed worth keeping, some clothes and a couple of knives, a few skulls. Once done she stood in the middle of the floor, drove the shadows away by weaving ebs of light through the shack, and looking around came to the realisation that this time she really would not be back to this place.
Ever.
So resolved, she - unusually for her - freshened up in lake and swam until her arms ached and her lungs felt like bursting; then dressing, she left the waterfront with her things, and stopping only to pick up further information from Jenseric, she booked into the Tiber Septim.
It's not like she couldn't afford it...

A few days later Luciana received a letter, putting down the mug she was cleaning she opened it, read the by-now familiar scrawl, and smiled.

So Niamh won´t live in her well-ordered schack anymore? Pity. It´s a good place, me think

Lothran has enjoyed a fine day in Leyawiin. The weather cleared up nicely after a day with pouring rain and he took the opportunity to visit some shops and some friends

Heh, well she will be using the place in Bravil, which given that it will have most of the junk and things from the other place in it is liable to be even messier than it is now!
Don't panic, neither she nor I her narrator have lost the plot...!
Sounds like L had a nice day.

He did, and this day too. He was south-east of Leyawiin where he admired some Nirnies and fought off a couple of Azhklans. He also took off his clothes and weapons to go for a swim

(Despite my ignorance in the early years, I did leave surprisingly many Nirnroots around that area!)

A lot has happened in
Lady Saga's little world. She visited the Imperial City, finally buying Minor Detect Life and a Candlelight spell. In my original playthrough with her on PS3, she had these two particular spells right after her first visit to the I.C., which means the original Saga never had to worry about who's around the corner or using a torch. For the Xbox Saga, adventuring has been more of a struggle
She headed north to Bruma, and left after doing the recommendation there. Next place to go? Cheydinhal. But she did not make it this far.
She decided to take the long way to Cheydinal, dragging Erthor and her new paint horse roughly east and southeast through the Jerall mountains.

They raided a small bandit camp, and then climbed a hill to the top of a mountain. While doing some cell phone pictures, I noticed what looked to be a stone wall on the top of the hill behind my elf. It did not look like Imperial stone, it did not look like a fort.

Getting a closer look, I realized Saga must have discovered the wizard's tower!

Frostcrag Spire.

Neat stuff! The place is unfurnished, and after teleporting down the the I.C., Saga was dismayed to find that the things she'll need to get the spell altars working cost a LOT of money, and she has nowhere near this kind of money. But it'll be interesting to see if she will get her custom-made spells & enchantments from the Mage's Guild or Frostcrag. Hmmm....

Phon, sounds like Niamh's gonna need a bigger house!
mirocu, so glad Lothie's enjoying the Leyawiin area but sorry we missed his swimming. Those Ashcan trolls are great for stuffing grand soul gems. I figure Buffy's one of the guild's best supplier of filled gsg's - not a job for the faint of heart.
Renee, so glad that dear Erthor is still tagging along with Saga! Ah yes. I honestly think it takes more time and effort to get the Sprire up and running than to get into the AU. Close enough anyway that for me it always boiled down to an RP choice. For my little gregarious elf, the choice was easy, since Frostcrag can be a cold and lonely place - great place to visit though!
