Fort Homestead's a fun fort to clear, especially that final room. We have the option of stealth-attacking from up high, or perhaps going for a ranged attack followed by melee if we attack from below. I'm sure Buffy's up to the task.

Welcome back Buffy! No more sunny deserts for a while, eh? tongue.gif

Bad news for me... My Oblivion game is going through some kind of tantrum and has suddenly started refusing to play! I'm no computer whiz so I don't know how long it will take to sort out the problem.... gutted sad.gif
Acadian
Renee, mirocu and Rihanae - thanks! Buffy's done at the University for now and is currently working the IC - Bruma - Chorrol triangle. happy.gif

Rihanae, I'm very sorry to hear about your game. I hope you can get it sorted out for Lissa soon.
TrisRed
Problem solved! Just some conflicting mods I failed to recognise! Haha
Grits
What a relief! I'm so glad you figured it out quickly. smile.gif
Acadian
Rihanae, that's great news indeed!

Buffy's still in that 'IC-Bruma-Chorrol' triangle. She stopped for an overnight at Bruma. While there, she sold some scrolls and gems while stocking up on supplies for the road. She also slipped into Lothran's empty cabin to place a pumpkin on the table - hoping Mooch will get blamed (private joke).

Early the next morning, she cleared the bandits from Capstone Cave, popped by Applewatch to say hi to 'Mother' Draconis, then turned south to join the beautiful road going west toward Chorrol. Fabulous views of the IC from that road of course. happy.gif
TrisRed
I've never had that problem before so I immediately went into panic mode! Haha.

Today Lissa went to the Shivering Isles for the first time! She'd always avoided it, not wanting to take any unnecessary risks... but today she took the plunge. She made it as far as Crucible, after defeating the Gatekeeper... which was a challenge!

However, she decided the isles, for now, was not for her, so she quickly retreated back to Cyrodiil. She is now spending some time with Anyanka in Bravil.
Grits
Jerric and Darnand must have just missed Buffy when they passed Applewatch. They took an unmarked road past Sancre Tor and Ninedava and entered Bruma through the North Gate. Darnand is footsore and frozen. They both miss the horses. Jerric doesn’t have much of a plan other than conduct his business quickly and get Darnand out of the snow. They’re headed to Cheydinhal next.

Ooh I've always meant to ask how you incorporated Darnand into your game? Did you use the CS?

Poor them with their frozen feet, though. Lissa HATES the snow. She has a phobia you see. During her travels she got caught in an avalanche in Skyrim, which left her traumatized. To this day she has NEVER been to Bruma. Ever.
Grits
Yep, I made him as a basic NPC in the CS (there are some links here) and Jerric recruited him with Companion Share and Recruit. Now if I could only get them both on horses! panic.gif I also gave Darnand a different voice using Companion Sound Sets. So now Darnand sounds a lot like he does in Skyrim (which is more how I imagined him than Oblivion’s Breton voice) but says some not entirely in-character stuff about nature. Lol.

OK, breaking news. Jerric leveled up in Bruma, which is a rare event but that’s not the story. On the way down the Silver Road he stepped up to thrash a bandit to the familiar sound of NPC Darnand summoning behind him. Darnand has a leveled set of spells and has been summoning a scamp. Today Jerric heard whoosh KYN AND VALKYN and got shouldered aside by a charging dremora. He and Darnand are going to have a talk.
Acadian
Rihanae – I’m glad Lissa got to visit the SI! What a shame about her fear of the cold. Bruma is a beautiful city.

Grits – Buffy stays toastie enough up in the Jerrals due, in part, to the beautiful butterfly toe ring enchanted with resist frost that dear Jerric gave her for her birthday. Maybe he should give one to poor Darnand? Oh, wait. . . maybe not. That would probably just fuel the rumors that Lil spreads about Jerric and Darnand to keep the ladies away from the big Nord. wink.gif

And Darnand has learned to summon the Big Kidz now! Wonder how that dremora will get on with Jerric's Frostie?

Haha! Lissa often has this trouble with Jessie! Scares the life out of her. Lissa will be fighting, with Jessie at a safe distant then suddenly a daedroth will appear out of nowhere, charging full force! It's makes both Lissa and I jump out of our skin! Haha

So glad that Lothran is getting to enjoy the warm salt air and golden grasses of the Abecean coastal area.

Buffy's working north of Chorrol. She cleared some bandits from Hrotanda Vale, then camped the night inside, with Superian and her cat. happy.gif

With a sip of anti-cramping potion and a light dusting of vampire dust over herself (ugh), she killed the vampires in Lipsand Tarn. After a painful reminder, she issued stern instructions to Acadian to remind her upon entering a vamp lair that the blood suckers are immune to paralysis. kvright.gif

She's heading for Fort Rayles now; she knows that's a fave lair for conjurers. I imagine, she'll then take care of the bandits in Black Rock Cavern and have a well-deserved play/clean-up in the waterfalls there. Hopefully some silk sheets in Chorrol for a night after that.

Buffy continues to do everyone favors by clearing out Cyrodiil´s riffraff! Such determination and energy in that small body of hers biggrin.gif

Well, born out of sheer jealousy at both Mirocu and Acadian's ability to long-term their characters...I've started Oblivion again... biggrin.gif ...

Having discussed with the family, Mirocu's spending a thousand hours not really doing a hell of a lot, I wondered out-loud about the possibility of being a Monk...To which the family all laughed heartily and said, "You?...Not fight?!"...

Pffft...Yeah, well...Even if they do have a point...Pffft...

Aaaanyways...

Currently, the recently be-Level 5-ed Battle-Priest, Brother Tharryn...And that's from level one in about three hours...*Shrug*...I can't help myself...Um...

Oh yeah, he's just finishing up clearing out Vilverin...

The plan is...Currently...Yeah, I know...Don't say it... biggrin.gif ...The plan is to eventually do the KOTN and pretend that the Priory is a small, out of the way hamlet called Prion or something...And have Brother Tharryn do some sort of Cadfeal-esque religious ministering to the good people and then the administering of swift sword-y justice to the bad where required...

Oh hush you...I'm trying!...I WANNA THOUSAND-HOUR CHARACTER!!!... panic.gif ... biggrin.gif ...

Oh, the coolest was that when I was doing the dungeon-trawl at the start, I gets to the end and Baurus asks you what you are, and you get all the options, the one that the game decided I was, was Pilgrim!...Not far off what I was going to do anyways...When I did the choices and selected the skills etc, the picture I got was the same as the Pilgrim anyways...

And for the first time ever, the birthsign isn't The Warrior...It's The Ritual...It's a change, people!!...
Acadian
mirocu - Aww, thanks! happy.gif

McB - I'll wager mirocu joins me in feeling plenty honored that our long-running elves have had a bit of a role in coaxing you back to Oblivion! Tharyyn sounds like he might be fun. A Monk of the Nine! Let's take it as prophetic that Baurus guessed close to your intent. I so hope Tharyyn grabs you by the. . . heart (Hee! Thought I was gonna say something naughty there, didn'tcha?) and keeps you in Cyrodiil. goodjob.gif

Anyways, we'll see...I'm happy with him, he does his job well... laugh.gif ...

EDIT!!!...Btw...Cheers guys... smile.gif ... wink.gif ...Ah owe ya!...

...And in a very strange coincidence, he looks not unlike Jared Padeleki... blink.gif ...I didn't set out to do that,

Jared looks like an elf. Besides the stubble, his face would be easy to create in OB I think.

Lady Saga just left Gottlesfont Priory. I am happy to finally see shadows in her game, this way she can always tell which way she's going.

Saga left Gottlesfont Priory and saw a giant in the distance. She was able to avoid it by sneaking. She managed to find a road, and took this to Skingrad, but I'm not ready to see Skingrad / BC. I think I'll save that one for last. Saga likes Anvil better, anyways. One of her favorite places to stay is Lord Drad's Manor. She gives Lord or Lady Drad some coin, and I RP that she's able to rent one of the slave houses this way. This is a great, scenic place to live.

She went into Cursed Mine and took care of several bandits in there while doing her best to keep their dogs alive. She did this by using Control spells, making the dog follow her behind a door. She'd then close this door so when the spell wears off, the dog can't attack her. Anyways, she managed to find a large, mostly Argonian adventuring party. These were fighting the enemies found in Cursed Mine, so Saga had very little to do here. Somehow, all the Adventurers wound up dead except for one: an Argonian Novice Spellsword. Saga hired this lizard for almost a day, but after leaving Cursed Mine, he got pwned when he was dual-attacked by a bandit and a timber wolf at the same time.

Still though, she's getting better at keeping these Adventurers alive. smile.gif
Grits
Yay for Brother Tharryn! Jared does have an elfin look.

It sounds like Lady Saga is finding her way in a more dangerous Cyrodiil. It must be neat to find other adventurers inside caves and ruins.

In Cheydinhal Jerric got a piece of news that made him drag Darnand back to Anvil immediately. Lildereth wrote to ask if he would take a long walk with her. The borders were open again (Iliana’s Elsweyr Anequina mod) and she wanted to go to Elsweyr.

Darnand was more than happy to be left out of this adventure. He has things to do. Indoor things with no dirt or sand. So Lildereth and NPC Jerric (we’re in Lil’s game now) threw some supplies into a bag and headed up the Gold Road. Here they’re still in the West Weald about to walk across the northern tip of Valenwood. Crossing that bridge started the journey for Lil. She took a moment to let the Nord know what this meant to her. Thankfully this is Jerric and he doesn’t need an explanation. She couldn’t have spoken right then if she tried.

There was another emotional moment on the way over the mountain when both Kvatch and Arenthia (where Lil lived for a time after the Five Year War) lay below. They couldn’t actually see Arenthia but she knew it was there. Jerric shed his very heavy and slightly silly looking armor at the top. Despite the lack of trees Lil feels pretty peaceful. It has occurred to her that they may be underprepared for the weather. Jerric already looks a little sunburned. She’s going to get some practice with her new healing spell.
McBadgere
The raggedly armoured man slumped over, his eyes glassy. The blood pooled under him from the deep wound in his side suggested he’d been sat there for some time before I’d found him. At that time he’d been barely conscious, eyes wild, rambling on about horrors beyond the white marbled door down some nearby steps.

The undead, it seemed, had taken Fanacasecul.

I had been nearby – an overnight stop at the Wawnet Inn resulting in the task of assisting a fisherman with his slaughterfish scales problem – and my journey along the westward road passed the Ayleid ruin.

A faint noise, not so much a yell for help as wordless cry of desperation had stopped me.

I’d walked cautiously towards the towering white walls, knowing them to be a haven for ne’er-do-wells. Not that, you understand, they could do me much harm – there’s plenty that’s tried, and failed – but still, it only takes one lucky shot.

A second wail turned me towards the eastern wall.

I’d found the man, I want to say bandit here, but he could just have been some hapless treasure hunter. Anyway, he’d gripped my arm with both his hands and words like, “Please help me.” were disjointedly followed by “Ghost”, “Zombie” and “Sorry.”

Had I been able to help him, I would have. I’ve a decent skill at healing but…

And so, he died.

Whoever he was.

I drew my silver sword, retrieved some potions from my pack, and before heading inside, I knelt and offered up some prayers to the Nine. One for the recently departed, and one for the hope that I wouldn’t be following him in the very very near future; or worse, be trapped down there; become the latest undead resident to haunt the once mighty Ayleid fortress…

------------------------------------------------------

So, today we've been to Stinkhole Cavern...I think it's called anyways...Then round to Weye and the Slaughterfish quest thing...I think there was something else, but I forget what...Oh, probably just the selling and waiting around...

Oh!...No, I spammed my Alteration up, because I couldn't find the lowest level feather spell...*Sighs happily*...Ahhh, the ease burden spells...How I have missed thee... biggrin.gif ...But anyways, I could find the next level up one...So I repeatedly tried to open an easy lock with an open very easy spell so that Tharryn could actually start to be able to carry a decent amount...

Oh, and, of course, the Ayleid ruin in the thingy above...Trying to work out if I should work on a story or not...Hmmmm...Hey-ho...

Levelling up has been all about balance, so far...We're trying to get everything above 50...Once there, we'll worry about his strength, intelligence and personality more...

Still, we'll worry about keeping playing first... biggrin.gif ...
mirocu
What I get from McB´s post is Stinkhole Caverns and feather spells.. biggrin.gif

Glad to see you back in the game, pun definitely intended! laugh.gif

Renee – Loves G. Priory. happy.gif Very clever use of spells by Saga.

Grits – So glad to see Elsweyr now within Lil’s range. Yes, there is a peace in the desert and I know Lil will soon agree. For those who know where to look, there is plenty of water. And plenty of life – most of it fast, unpredictable and hostile. And some wonderful shopping. tongue.gif Buffy tends to travel at night – it is cooler and pink glows show up in the pale desert ever so much better. And watch out for sand storms – they can last for two or three days.

McB – Nice to hear of Tharryn’s adventures. Stinking slaughterfish. laugh.gif

*

After leaving the Chorrol area, Buffy headed south – clearing dungeons and camping as needed as she went. Gottlesfont was a welcome night with some real sheets, and clearing marauders from the nearby fort was but small repayment to the kind Sisters of Charity. She’s back briefly (probably one night) at the University.

McB: I loved that little bit you wrote. Short and sweet, but still well done.

It's the well-crafted pieces that capture moments in the game that capture my attention (and imagination). They don't have to go anywhere, but be whole and complete in themselves. And my friend, you have accomplished just that right here!

Acadian: It looks like I'm going to miss out on Elseweyr, as I can't find the Anequina mod. I can find dozens of mods for Anequina, but not the original. I am looking at a couple of Hammerfell mods and one for Valenwood (Julian would like to go back there sometime). Unfortunately the Valenwood one seems to need the Anequina one to make the experience the best it can be. indifferent.gif

Kvatch Rebuilt 3 2.1.3 is on my load order. So far I'm enjoying it, only thing is, Savlian still doesn't become the Count! I wish that were an option in this mod! Otherwise it is an awesome mod. I am using TK's Toggle LOD mod to fix the flickering in the Kvatch city as seen from the Gold Road. I also have Reclaiming Sancre Tor, but haven't started that quest yet.

So now I can start exploring beyond the borders of Cyrod! Thanks for the linky! I can go and play there! I will have to see how it works alongside Valenwood Improved. Maybe that's where I'll learn how to make a game patch (SubRosa's Witchcraft mod doesn't do well with the UL Cheydinhal Falls - another reason I dumped the UL mods - I'd rather keep Morcant!)

Tarvyn Dralor has joined the Mages Guild at Chorrol. As a result he now has some actual clothes, left by those moved on by Traven's reshuffle. Not that he's complaining, they're clean, and it's more than he'd have gotten from House Telvanni. He's also discovered that the Chapels are effectively off-limits to him. He doesn't know why, but just being in one makes his skin crawl...

He spent the morning catching up on lost sleep, and the afternoon practising alchemy, before turning in early. In the morning he intends to see about obtaining his recommendation.

Tarvyn Dralor has successfully completed his first recommendation quest. While he was harvesting alchemy ingredients on the way back he was attacked by a conjurer. Unfortunately the spell tome he carried was minor respite, completely useless to Tarvvyn. I'd been hoping for something like Blink, now that would have been convenient. Now he's having a chat with Teekeeus about where to go next.

I have prepared a few updates recently, having them more in-depth. This is from Monday's game with Lissa...

_____

Lissa, still in Bravil with Anyanka, decided to take Anyanka out to check out an Aliyed ruin nearby. This was quite exciting for both Lissa and I. Lissa rarel get's some one-on-one adventure time with Anyanka since their main mission was completed a year ago. Anyanka is now in charge of the Bravil Mages guild chapter since Kud-Ei's unfortunate death.*

Walking through Bravil to the city gate, Lissa can't help but think about the state that the city was in. Surely despite the fact it was arguably one of the poorest cities in Tamriel... did it have to be so disgusting. Blood and rotting corpses were everywhere, hookers on every street. She wondered why Anyanka would want to stay in Bravil... but they probably didn't have a choice.**

Once out of Bravil it was only a short walk to the ruin in question. Outside the ruin the girls managed to save an adventurer from a rather feisty ogre. "Thank you!" The Khajiiti adventurer, who introduced her self as Dra'Kesch, elated. "Maybe I will see you again and return the favour!". After Dra'Kesh departed, the girls entered the ruin.***

Lissa decided to scout ahead, thinking that with her stealth abilities she would be able to scan the area to see if it's safe without being spotted. She found herself on a balcony overlooking the ground floor. "Hmph... no way down..." She thought. However, before she could even spot the creature, Lissa almost found herself overwhelmed by a Will-o-The-Wisp upon entry, causing her to fall off a banister into the ruins lower sanctums. She quickly shot up and fired her bow, killing the dangerous orb with no less than three arrows.

"Are you okay?" Anyanka asks, panicked, now on the balcony after rushing to aid the screaming Redguard.

"Yeah. Think I've bruised a rib, but I'm fine." Lissa assures her, brushing herself off. "Can you get down here?"

Anyanka notes the height of the fall, "No. I refuse to risk my life. I am not as spry as you." Anyanka then looked about, spotting only a single door, which was locked, "The door to the lower levels is locked. It seems it can be unlocked from the other side."

This meant Lissa had to traverse through the ruin alone. "Great. Wish me luck!" She moaned.

However, despite her dangerous first encounter, she barely had any trouble after this, fighting off a few minotoars, will-o-the-wisps and ogres; not too much trouble for her now she was aware of them; stealth attacks did the trick. However, when she reached the door Anyanka spoke of, she was attacked by a land draugh.

"Oh dear..." She muttered. The land draugh was too quick to fight with her bow, Artemis, so her warhammer, Shatterheart had to do. It was an epic and dangerous fight, but Lissa was victorious.

She was eventually reunited with Anyanka, unlocking a door near the entrance to the ruin with a switch, and they travelled deeper into the ruin. Unfortunately for Lissa, who was excited for a complex ruin, found the deeper part of the ruin led to only a couple rooms and a pile of treasure guarded by a Minotaur Lord. Amongst the treasure, however, she found an Elemental ring, which provides her with 20% resistance to fire, ice and lightning. She is happy with this reward for all the trouble she endured.

Upon leaving the ruin, Lissa felt the desire to relax, perching herself on a rock outside the ruin for a brief moment, needing to unwind. She returned Anyanka to the guild hall and then left some flowers by Kud-Ei's gravestone. She will spend the night at the guild hall, then decide her next move. She will either go home, or visit Mazoga in Leyawiin.

-----

* - a long time ago Lissa escorted Kud-Ei to the IC, but on the way back Kud-Ei was overwhwelmed by an Ogre. Traven decided to let Anyanka, with the agreement of the other Bravil Guild members, take over.

** - I am using Better Cities, which drastically changed how Bravil looked. Personally, I do not like it. However, for the sake of the fact that I cannot change it it will have to do. A bonus to the new Bravil, however, is the new harbour it adds.

*** I have a Roaming NPC mod which adds a variety of Merchants, adventurers, battlemages etc to the game world, wondering about. When I find one I set them essential and name them.
Acadian
CT - Good luck as your Valenwood mage begins the long trek to enter the University!

Rihanae - Adventures in Anutwyll! Poor Kud-Ei. . . but I bet Anyanka will do a great job there.

@Everyone...Now that I'm back on Cyrodiil, I'm thoroughly enjoying everyone else's stories too...

@Renee...Ta very much...I'm slowly getting Tharryn's voice...One of these days I'll get the time to do something worthwhile with the writing... laugh.gif ...

Aaaaamywho...

So far so good for Brother Tharryn...We're still on the ring road around Lake Rumare, and have been into everything from Weye 'round to Pell's Gate...Including an encounter with Umbra which I'm dying to write up, 'cause ma noggin did a right number on that little moment... laugh.gif ...

But anyways, as we're still pretty low on strength and Alteration level, it's taking ages to clear out Fort Homestead...Although, I think we're on our last return visit...

However, I can't stop levelling up...Having got a huge amount of monies from this selling lark, I went and bought a load of ingredients, so as to Alchemize them...As you do...Somehow, whilst standing there mixing, I managed to level up, not once...But twice... blink.gif ...

Fair dues, level 13 without trying...I've barely been in anywhere so far...Literally, the dungeons around the Imp City island, and the previously mentioned ones from Weye, south and eastwards...I think that's the way (or weye!)...

Sadly, I can't get out of the sneak/shoot/shoulder down and charge thing...Even though he's supposed to be light-armour...*Shrug*...Still, I've got me a Dwarven shield now...I love them...I may keep it until I'm a high enough level to get the full-on Escutcheon of Chorrol...

So, that's me then... happy.gif ...

Well, Do'Shakir II never really took off for me. So I did a bit of a Callidus laugh.gif and decided to end his game. I've currently got a few ideas for characters in my head. Another quick update... found a mod (thanks to Grits!) I've been desperate to play ever since Acadian introduced me to another world... a beautiful world... a very, very, VERY sandy world...

Ready to go to Elswyer?

(She's definitely dressed for the climate! tongue.gif)

Wow this thread's been busy!

CT: No jinxing here. So long as you leave that difficulty slider where it should be, everything will be swell. Now go ... hurt something. viking.gif

How do you like Anvil in Better Cities??

It is subtle. Not as over-the-top as I thought it would be. I'm talking about the inside of Anvil, now. At first I didn't notice the changes, but then I noticed a couple new buildings, along with a lot of little things (like extra foliage) to pretty the town up a little bit. smile.gif Did you notice there's a gallows pole now, near the inn?

Loved your story, by the way. smile.gif Whenever Anyanka speaks, I hear this low, purring sort of voice, but still quite feminine. Lissa's got a higher voice. What level is Lissa?

- I am using Better Cities, which drastically changed how Bravil looked. Personally, I do not like it.

I don't entirely like it either, but I do like the way it was done. I like the fact that it's slummy and cramped. I personally would not choose to live there, but one of my characters (my outlaw) loves the place.

I LOVE the Avil Better City. Easily my favourite... it's just a shame it doesn't have a public bathing house! And yeah, I noticed the Gallows Pole... Pretty oddly placed IMO.

Thank you smile.gif To me, Lissa has always had a very Rochelle Aytes voice (Which is why she is my avatar). I've always just imagined Anyanka to have the normal Dunmer voice haha.

Lissa is capped at 21. It's perfect for her. The enemies are just right, as is the loot.

Managed to squeeze another game-day in for Tarvyn.

Teekeeus suggested he go to Bruma then Cheydinhal, so Tarvyn dressed warm. His black and burgundy outfit was fur-lined, so he wore that. He'd left early in the morning, and met up with a Legionnaire on patrol, who accompanied him for about a sixth of the journey before turning back. This meant he didn't need to worry about being attacked, so he went alchemically nuts, harvesting everything he could. There was some slight bandit activity, the first cut down by the Legionnaire, the second they both took down. The bandit charged past the Legionnaire, catching an arrow as she did, then was slashed across the back and turned, only to catch a second arrow in the back that killed her.

But the biggest threat Tarvyn faced was night. He spent so long harvesting ingredients, particularly steel blue entoloma caps, that before he was halfway to Bruma night began to fall!

And here's a pic of him just before he set out: Tarvyn Dralor

Sorry about the ghost in the pic sad.gif

Unfortunately Lothran is not in Bruma to welcome his fellow Dunmer brother, but hopefully he´ll have a good time there anyway smile.gif

CT - Nice to see a picture of Tarvyn. Best of luck to him in Bruma. Teekeus' suggestion to go to Bruma next is a good one. Not only is the trip more efficient because it is close to Chorrol, but it shouldn't be too hard to impress Jeanne. Heck, some say she can't even cast her way out of a paper sack.

But apparently she can cast her way between the sheets! winkgrin.gif hubbahubba.gif

Callidus, it’s great to see Tarvyn. I’m used to Destruction for range and a blade for melee, so a bow with touch Destruction spells would be an interesting switch. Good luck in Bruma!

Rihanae, I can just see Lissa chatting with every NPC she passes. She is adorable. And deadly! She looks ready for the desert! Maybe she’ll see Lildereth and Jerric in her travels. smile.gif

McB, whatever you write for Brother Tharryn or anyone else I will be avidly reading. It’s great to have you adventuring in Cyrodiil!

Vital, I have a non-combatant healer who is fun to play. She makes me look at quests very differently.

Here’s an update from Lil.

8 of Rain’s Hand

I do not like to keep a journal.

Time away from the city and all of its demands is time best uncounted. The days slide over us and we simply live, as free of care as stones in the river. But Darnand has asked for a reckoning of coins, and this land devours the unwary. Distances are greater than they appear. Storms may send us under cover with little warning. We must pay close attention to our provisions. And so I will count the days.

We reached Dune before nightfall. Jerric spoke at length to folk at an encampment by the crossroads, fellow travelers entering the city, a Pahmar and two Alfiq who did not acknowledge him, and every guard that we passed. There’s talk of trouble at the palace. I’m sure he’ll want to get in the middle of it, but first we rest.

Of course the vendors had mostly closed their stalls by the time we reached the market. We ate our meal sitting outside on a bench as the sun set. How quickly the air cools in the desert. After dinner we walked beyond the walls to watch the stars come out. Our rented hut will provide welcome shade tomorrow afternoon, but tonight we sleep on the roof. It is safe as the guards watch the gates and Jerric has surely killed all of the nearby imps and spiders.

He rests easily now. I watched him dream once while I waited for enough moonlight to write. He didn’t wake.
