Tarvyn is still at the Wawnet Inn. He's gotten what he came to the Imperial City for, and done some shopping, but has been prevented from returning to Bravil by another of the thunderstorms that seem to blight Cyrodiil so badly.

It's getting ridiculous frankly. If this keeps up I'll be changing the title of his thread to "Caught in the Rain"

I've not noticed the rain so much at all...I mean, yeah...Now and again, but when I stop to do some sightseeing, it's all glorious and awesome... huh.gif ...

I guess this will be Tarvyn's theme tune from now on... tongue.gif ...

Aaaaamywho...Found out what was in the Cavern of the Titans™...Not hall, as I first thought...Trolls, Ogres and a Savage Minatour!!!...

Sold the swag...Now thinking of continuing towards the Ayelid ruin that appeared on the compass as I exited the cave...No idea what it is though...

Now, I have a couple days worth of updates in my computer as Jessie and Lissa continue their annual Dungeon Blitz, but I have some sad news from Lissa's world which I must share immediately.
After the Blitz was over Lissa and Jessie headed back to Anvil. Jessie wanted to spend the weekend with Lissa.

On the way to Anvil Lissa decided to pop up to the camp outside Kvatch to visit her mother and see how reconstruction of the city was going. but it seems Lissa got their too late.

What awaited Lissa when she arrived at the camp was the news that her mother, Oleta along with two others had perished during the night. Nobody knows exactly what happened, but they can only assume bandits were involved. Ironic, how they survived the Kvatch disaster only to be bested by mere, pathetic bandits.

Lissa returned to Maelona shortly after. They are currently planning a send off for their mother, which I expect will be beautiful. They feel that the send off should be in Anvil, where Oleta spent most of her life in Cyrodiil. They are certain that plenty of people will come to show their respects. It truly is a sad day for the Cristenn kin.

Obviously Lissa is taking this news hard, but as we all know she is incredibly strong and she has found a silver lining in such a tragic event. She had been meaning to increase her knowledge of magicka but didn't have the confidence to try out for the Arcane University. She has now decided that, in her mothers honour, she will at least attempt to get into the university. Although she is good with basic magicks, she hopes that with enough practice and training she will gain the skills needed to use the more powerful spells**. She wants to focus on learning about defensive magick rather than offensive (Although Ironically for her, she is quite taken with frost spells), such as normal and elemental shield spells, summoning protective creatures and some illusive spells for sneaking. She is aware that she has been quite reckless with her adventuring recently, diving headfirst into battle with little protection being one example, so she hopes that knowing some defensive magick will prove very useful. She knows she will never become a powerful or even a high ranking mage (Although she does want to reach a high restoration rank for certain), but she at least hopes the university can teach her to be the best she can be; just what her mother would want for her.

(I will return to telling of the Blitz as there truly are some fun adventures I want to share, but for now I think I should focus on the passing.)

*This is a genuine mystery. Lissa and Jessie arrived to find Oleta dead, which was quite odd as there was no indication whatsoever as to how or why. I concluded it was a small bug, somehow, maybe one that spawned a bad guy I'm not sure. However, I feel that Oleta's death was necessary, somehow, like it was meant to happen in order for Lissa to move onto the next stage of her life. This is the second year of Lissa's game (although I had to cheat with the time span when I moved onto PC). I don't think I will ever be 'done' with Lissa, but I am certain that, although I don't know what, there is something big waiting for her, whether it happen tonight or a couple of years from now. Only time will tell.

*My personal rules for magic are simple. Each time Lissa gains goes up a rank in a field I give her 50 more Magicka via the console. Currently she is an apprentice in Restoration, conjuration and illusion and had 322 MP (Some of which is added by a fortify intelligence ring she wears). As she increases ranks she will gradually earn MP, intelligence and willpower; although that doesn't mean she will have enough to cast the higher level spells, which I think is great because my rules cap how powerful a mage she can be. We only want to learn apprentice/journeyman level spells.

McB – Ah, the joys of home decorating! I agree that the Cheydinhal house is really nice – love the Tudor style.

CT – Tar-Caught in the Rain-vyn is certainly having bad luck with the weather! Sounds like a trip to the Gold Coast for some (hopefully) sunshine?

Rihanae – Aww, so sorry to hear about Oleta. kvright.gif Because there’s no ‘immigration’ into Cyrodiil, I often resurrect and ‘essentialize’ most named NPCs just to prevent population attrition. That’s a real concern given how long Buffy’s game is. Yet sometimes you just gotta go with a death when it feels as if it were meant to be. I recall we let City Swimmer’s death stand. I know Lissa will emerge stronger for this and you and she are right to listen to her inner voice.

*

Buffy's just west of Skingrad, generally dungeon clearing her way along the road to Kvatch and on to Anvil. Why? Because she can. And she wants to see the sun set into the Abecean.
TrisRed
I too set more NPC's essential than I probably should Haha. I think not essential-ing Oleta was an oversight. It's such a shame, too.

Haha I can't blame her! She might bump into Lissa... she spends most evenings adoring the sunset. When she is in Anvil, that is tongue.gif

Tarvyn is back again at the Wawnet Inn, having just gone for a wander into Fort Nikel. That place is just funny, but this time was weirder than I've seen it. The bandits and marauders were all jumbled around, and the fight was triggered by the stealthy assassination of the marauder who wasn't locked down with the others huh.gif

And there wasn't even anything there worth fighting over laugh.gif
mirocu
Sounds like a riot laugh.gif

Btw, can you refresh my memories of what Tarvyn looks like?

Rihanae - Sad tale that... sad.gif ...It's weird how the coding seems to throw up these things... kvleft.gif ...

Acadian - Dungeon trawling is pretty cool!...I had forgotten how cool some of the Oblivion dungeons were...Looking forward to that Bandit cave just outside Skingrad...When I eventually get back around to the western end of things anyways... biggrin.gif ...

Thorny-Boy - Fort Nikel is excellent!!...Much thwacking in a marauder stylee!!...

Crow-Boy!! - Your advice is excellent also, given what happened the other day... smile.gif ...I did - kinda - have fun with it...But some of the books just kept falling off...AAARGH!!...But we got there...

Nothing to report for Tharryn though...Been too busy...Bloody work... dry.gif ...Gets far too much in the way of gaming, you know?... biggrin.gif ...

Tarvyn Dralor is now in Chorrol again. He's been getting some private tuition from Teekeeus, and is now able to cast apprentice level conjuration spells. So now he can summon a skeleton. He didn't much like the thought of a ghost or zombie, and the skeleton has a longer duration than the scamp, so should be more useful as a distraction.

He also got some potion brewing done: 26 restore magicka, 17 restore health, and a dozen poisons. ANd he's still got plenty of ingredients to spare. Seems Tarvyn's quite the fan of alchemy.

Oh, and he's thinking about buying a horse.

CT - Lissa loves the Wawnett Inn. Have Tarvyn picked up any of Nerussa's precious Shadowbanish wine on his travels? Also congrats on Tarvyn's new summon! I agree, skeletons are great distractions, although I find the lower level ones to be less... stable than other summons. Does Tarvyn (great pic BTW!) Plan on getting more adept with conjuration?

Not yet, he's still pretty new to Cyrodiil (level 2!) and has only just gotten the spells to let him snipe in the dark.

Yeah, the standard skeleton's a bit flimsy, but Tarvyn really didn't like the options at apprentice level. He might experiment with hitting it with a shield spell, I'll have to wait and see. As for how good at summoning he'll get, I have no idea yet. I'm hoping he'll become more adept in both illusion and conjuration, just because I've never had a character use the higher level spells, but it'll depend on how he fights.
Acadian

Glad everyone's having fun and our DiD'ers are still alive. Speaking of which, nice to hear that Teekeus is helping Tarvyn muster some help in the form of Slim the Magical Bag o' Bones.

Buffy's stay at Anvil was not long, for the weather did not cooperate. But the Gold Coast needs rain too I guess. She and Superian departed to the north for Beldaburo, and are now working their way via selected dungeons overland and generally east. I expect her next retrofit/town stop will be Skingrad.

Then maybe she´ll run into Lothran again! Said dunmer has just finished up a dive deep into Heynote Cave where he found various things of interest. He also made use of his complete arsenal of attacks even though not that much was killed, circumstances however required different tactics.

He has of now officially also started to collect even regular and flawed gems smile.gif

Good luck with the shelves, McB! How fondly I recall balancing things on paintbrushes so they looked like they were hung on the wall. panic.gif My books were always a disaster!

Rihanae, I’m so sorry to hear about Oleta! I completely understand not resurrecting her. Now that I can I don’t hesitate to do that, but sometimes it just doesn’t seem right, especially when it involves a character’s personal growth.

Acadian, I have a vivid memory of Buffy and Superian’s picture where they’re chasing the setting sun! happy.gif

Jerric lived in the camp outside Fort Nikel for a long time in one of his console games. If memory serves there’s a torn or open sack of grain there. That makes it home! biggrin.gif

Here’s an update from Lildereth and Jerric. As usual the facts are there but have to be inferred. tongue.gif

25 Rain’s Hand

Riverhold

Breton—

It’s me again. The elf is back in the waterfalls and I’m supposed to keep this leg dry until the skin closes, so I told her I’d make some notes for her while I’m waiting. She’s not big but she can sure set a compound fracture before you have much time to scream. Oh, and that potion you marked ‘For Long Bones’ works a treat. Anyway here’s a fact about our trip: Riverhold rocks are slippery.

We plan to stay at the Mages Guild hall while we’re in town so there won’t be many coins spent on beds. Lil gets along pretty well with the cat-folk even though she’s a Bosmer. I’m surprised they don’t notice all the Charm spells she casts at em, but I guess that’s how they work. Even on the mages.

The one in the red robe has us doing something shady for her. I guess that’s something wood elves and the locals have in common. They both cut their eyes at me while they were talking, you know the way that means when I find out I’m not going to like it.

Now look in the box. I put some fig brandy for you and Khajiiti sweets for Abiene in there with the spider venom and silk. One of the brandy bottles is not brandy. It’s venom. Don’t get them mixed up.

Also now that we’re back in the tall grass, rat is on the menu again. You should have seen the elf when we got over the hill into the edge of the forest. She was up to her tits pits in those blue flowers and grinning like a Nord on Loredas before I could blink. Rat meat is free so I spent some extra on mead. Never mind how much.

Well my leg looks like it might hold me again so I’m gonna go give it another try. I’m sure I’ll get all the way to the pool this time. If not you can have my minotaur horn collection.

Ha ha.

Jerric

Here are some screens from today:

Watching her back. Jerric spontaneously took this position on the rock while Lil was frolicking. His subsequent spill is referenced above.

Watching the sunset. We are all completely in love with Riverhold.

Busted. I went to make a save and caught Lil eyeing up the queen’s shirtless Cathay guards. Jerric was apparently still watching Lil’s back.

Yes!! Today it happened! biggrin.gif Lothran passed the magic marker at 6:25PM on the first of Second Seed, year 437 in the third era! It happened while he was by the vintners in Skingrad, the sky was overcast and heavy fog lingered all around.

To celebrate the occasion he fired off a few lighting blasts into the sky and coronated Shameer and Tamika herself. He also made sure to get rid of a few bandits and a stray goblin so that the sheep would be safe for the night.

Great to see Tharryn still dungeon diving! Buffy's found all of those statues. The final one is on display in her apartment, keeping that quest on 'pause'.

Buffy and I are spending a couple quiet days away from Tamriel. Puter has had a little burp and needs to go to the shop. Meet Edina, a new friend for Lissa.

Lissa met Edina during her journey for recommendations in Leyawiin. Edina, too, is collecting recommendations for the AU and bumped into Lissa at the Leyawiin guild.

Both were tasked with the mission, so they decided to do it together. Once completed, they are now Heading to Bravil so Edina can collect her final recommendation before they go to the AU

Personality wise, Edina is very nervous, but a gentle soul. There is something about her past that she is keeping close to her chest, so we probably wont find out about that until later on. She excels is frost spells and usually conjures a frost atronach. To go with her love of frost she seems to love the colour blue, having blue clothes, nails, jewellery and even a blue staff.

I'm excited for Lissa to travel with her as they go through the AU studies, and I can't wait to see what Edina brings to the table.
SubRosa
Edina is cute! I like the frost motif to go with her pale skin, and blue is the perfect color for her.
Acadian
I agree with SubRosa. A Frost Maiden!
mirocu
She´s a Valkyrie! laugh.gif

Cheerz guyz! tongue.gif

Lissa has been travelling with Edina for (in game) about two days and she has come to learn that Edina is very capable when it comes to handling herself.

Lissa, herself, whilst she is in mage-mode she is trying her best to only use magic or staffs. She has a lightning staff ATM, but she is still struggling to use it. Luckily with Edina with her, she realised she would be okay in case of combat.

During a stroll through the woods we came across a group of bandits. Edina immediately charged into battle, summoning Frosty (her frost atronach) and quickly blasting and overpowering the bandits with a mixture of frost spells from her own hands and her staff. It was quite a sight to behold.

Lissa has a feeling that Edina's powerful rage against bandits has something o do with her being s hesitant to reveal anything from her background... but, again, only time will tell.

Once in Bravil Lissa was immediately given a recommendation (with Anyanka being the guild head, an'all). Anyanka tasked Edina with collecting minotaur horns by any means. Looks like a re-visit to the (hopefully) re-populated Anutwyll. At least this time Lissa will be more prepared than last time.

(Lildereth and Jerric are still adventuring in the Elsweyr Anequina mod.)

Lil and Jerric are about to camp near the Red River Gorge falls. At least I think that’s what it’s called. They need to heal and rest up after the beating they just took. Lil’s Command spells don’t work on most of the animals and many of them can knock Jerric down with terrifying speed.

On the plus side Lil has nearly reached Apprentice in Destruction and Restoration thanks to recent events. Jerric is a pretty good teacher of those who are not naturally gifted in those schools. He put her up on a rock and told her to cast flares at everything to distract them while he ran around and got his head kicked in. Well, that’s not exactly what he said, but that’s pretty much what happened. ohmy.gif Soon Lil should be able to help heal Jerric and cast her very important Weakness to Poison spell.

There’s an Imperial looking building nearby and adorable baby elephants in the water. I’m sure they will investigate both probably starting with the elephants. Tonight they will feast on fresh boar meat and fruit. First I think they are both going to take a nap.
Acadian
CT - Congrats on Dusk! I think the chestnuts are the prettiest horses in Cyrodiil.
