Thanks! Yeah, Kvatch Rising is an interesting mod. It's very thorough, and feels complete. Before the bandits show up, there is a "No Fires" phase, which is the town in ruins, but no fires. That one is really spooky because nobody is there. There are 3 stages after the one Saga is at too: a 'back to nature' phase (no bandits), a rebuilding phase, and the complete phase. I use the complete one for RG3's game.

Yay, what a great Lothran story!

I real enjoyed the tale of Lady Saga and company ousting the bandits. Erthor made it! I’m sure he’s really ready to get back to Skingrad now.

1:07 AM Sundas, Evening Star 9, 3rd Era 433:
Snaat Rayag is in Ceyatatar selling some skooma to the conjurers that lurk inside. He's making some profits: he bought 10 skooma bottles from Shady Sam earlier in the night for 500 gold. But he's selling each bottle for 60 to 80 gp each, so he'll wind up with about 200 gold profit after these are sold.
I usually get with Snaaty whenever I'm play-testing something new. Trying Maskar's tonight for the first time. MOO has tons of features, but thankfully they aren't supposed to interfere with other mods. Something to do with OBSE, I dunno. Anyway, it's got lots of features that I don't use, but a few things I can't find anywhere else, so Snaaty it is tonight.
He has a girlfriend in Skingrad, but I forget which NPC this is. Some other dark elf. He met her and went back to her house last time he was there.

And he stayed with her several days. So he's looking forward to going back to Skingrad, the silly guy.
EDIT: Undena Orethi, the 'tomato lady'. That's who he met. Snaaty went to her house but she is nowhere to be found. Of course, those who know Undena know that she spends long hours standing next to a rock outside of town, glitched-out or something. But Snaaty doesn't know this, so he's patiently waiting for her to show up.

The most infamous Redguard thief in ALL of Tamriel is now searching for a beggar in Bravil, so he can figure out what to do next. Kahreem currently has 973 gold, and wears chainmail boots & gauntlets, along with some ordinary middle-class clothing. Well, he found Cosmus the Cheat, who had nothing to say about Kahreem's latest quest, so I
myself went ahead and cheated. Anvil! He's off to Anvil. Pretty excited about this; I don't think I've been to Anvil with him.
EDIT: he found his new disguise.

You're gonna love it, methinks. And after getting this disguise situated, he got inspired to do some goblin hunting, because he was just outside of Derelict Mine when he suited his new disguise up. He realized goblins often carry lockpicks, so he did a bit of impromptu dungeon-diving. He sucks at this though. He's a decent warrior, but every time he gets attacked, he can't use his torch anymore, especially in the gear he's now suited into.
So he's on his way to Skingrad. Almost there.

Wow, Kahreem is quite the rich fellow now, isn´t he? No need to get that Cheap Wine anymore, go for Tamika´s or Surilies!!

And last night Lothran went for a stroll in the mountains. Two bandits bit the
dust snow outside the North Gate, one Minotaur where Honmund usually picks mushrooms and also, as he´s expected to do, Lothran killed off three goblins outside Plundered Mine; one Warlord, one Shaman and one regular.

Sounds fun, crow. What level is Lothie frozen at? I forget. One of the things I noticed was it took Kahreem awhile to take down the goblins he encountered, even though he's only Level 6. But I think it could be because he's more proficient with blunt weapons, and lately he's been carrying a cutlass around.

Tonight Lothran decided to clear out the entire Plundered Mine.
Many times he merely wanders in with full Light and just works through their numbers. But this time he wanted to be a bit more stealthy and let his Spriggan friend and her bear take care of it all, with him in the shadows finishing off the odd survivor.
One thing was a bit strange, though. He first cleared out the ground level and then proceeded deeper into the mine to clear that area. Said and done, but when he came back up he could hear the sounds of
more goblins! Now where the heck did they come frome??

Apparently the Three Feather goblin tribe is smart enough to set up ambushes. But they were not clever enough for Lothran...

"You. YOU. It is you who made attacking of me. And what of you now, eh? Sitting here, drinking your measly mead."
"An unfortunate encounter for both uf us. But, as I said, it was only business. No hard feelings, I hope."
"'No hard feelings...' I was not of expectation that you would bring attemptment of one such scheme."
Still, Lady Saga gets an idea, as she speaks to Claude Maric, the man who had tried to deceive her several months ago.
"Well now we are here. At Roxey Inn. These things have made passing. And you are not seeming to be on the bads now. Tell me a few things about you, if you have interest."
"Well I don't like to boast but..."
Claude Maric explains that he prefers a blend of magic and sword. He carries a silver shortsword (a good thing, Saga notes, for a serious adventurer to have), and that he's bored, now that all the furor has died down. How much would it take to hire this man? ... Aerin from Valenwood has an hour-long chat with Claude, and finds he could be useful to have around. 77 gold is all it takes to hire him, though he was already willing to do anything to get back onto the road again, instead lf sipping mead for the rest of his life.
And so it was that on Fredas, Sun's Height 19, Lady Saga hired Claude Maric, the man who once tried to ambush and kill her.

And thus yesterday in the early morning, Lothran set out for Pale Pass! He bought some food from Hafid and some mead from Olav and collected his gear and without further ado, he passed through the East gate.
He reached Serpent´s Trail with only a Will-o to guard it which was just a nuisance, really. He had hoped for a little better practice before going in. Anyway, after switching to his Ghost rings and amulet and getting his weapons poisoned, he slowly opened up the door making sure to keep its squeeky noise to a minimum, and entered the narrow passage..
For a Warlock rank in the Mages Guild, even the Pale Pass Ogre Cave Bosses don´t really put up much trouble. One arrow from the Shocker followed by a Weakness spell and two hits from Snowflake, and down they go. Granted, they were all attacked from the shadows and poisoned arrows were used, but still. Lothran was quite amazed how easy he travelled through the monster-infested cave system. Along the way he found not one but two Flawless Topaz the Ogres had hidden in well-locked chests. What they were gonna buy with them was beyond the Dunmer.
When he finally reached the door at the other end he had already used up most of his Shock poisons. He wasn´t worried, though. He usually don´t use poisons this much so he can manage without, plus he still had his best poison left. Removing his Ghost trinkets and dipping yet another arrow in Shock poison, he opened up the heavy door and...
The legendary Pale Pass!
It was still dark when he went out from the cold cave system. He was quite excited to be back. Not only because of the great hunting grounds, but for the memories. When he first got here he didn´t know what to expect or where to go. Now, he knew this place like the back of his hand. He readied his bow and slowly began the journey down into the snowy valley to begin the hunt..

Aww, thanks. She feels better now. And Renee, ya know I'm just teasin' ya! Anyway, it seems Pale Pass is about the only physical means to pass from Cyrodiil to Skyrim. Buffy's never been able to find the way though. She thinks maybe Jerric knows how but it might just be a Nord thing. Nor has she had much luck investigating ships brave enough to weather the storms between Anvil and the northern ports. Happily though, Buffy has figured out how to magically bypass all that and travel between the provinces. It is pretty complicated and preparation intensive though. In fact, she expects to spend New Life Festival in Bruma with her dark elven friend!
Renee
Dec 23 2014, 11:28 PM
Pale Pass BLEW me away the first time I did that quest. Because (to me) Cyrodiil already seemed very massive, and to think there is MORE??
I remember assuming it would be a very short area, you know; maybe 5 minutes into Skyrim and that's it. But it took quite awhile to make it to the end of the quest. It's a fort, right?

A nice story about Lothran returning to Pale Pass, it seems that he'll spend his Christmas there.

And since there are many trees around, Lothran could decorate them with flawless topazes that he took from Ogres so they would look like Christmas Trees. And all he needs then, is a Fireball spell directed in the air as a fireworks and the celebration would be perfect.
Lol, Saga got arrested because of sleeping outside?

She is about to deliver Amulet. I'm not sure I'll fully write her tales or not, but it was fun to be with her again. It's been since the Grey Wizard (2011) since I've had a character in Oblivion who uses Destruction.

Buffy's in Bruma!
She quickly discovered several things:
-Aetherius (Lothran's horse) and Superian are still great friends.
-According to the East Gate guard, Lothran is on duty at the North Gate.
-Lothran's locked cabin is, of course, not elf-proof. Buffy sighed happily to see the bear pelt that Lothran keeps for her neatly rolled up near the hearth.
Olav at the Tap & Tack was happy to give Buffy a jug of warm soup that was big enough for two. Bundled in furs, she made her way through the city to the North Gate.
"You didn't think I'd miss sharing New Life Festival with you, did you?"
Seeing the wisps of white hair poking from under his helm and happy crinkles form at the corners of his ruby eyes made the traumatic trip from Skyrim well worth it.
mirocu
Dec 31 2014, 05:50 PM
Standing guard during the New Life Festival is always worth it for the sake of Bruma, but gets even better when a dear friend comes to visit!
Buffy knew she was always welcome to Lothran´s cabin even if he´s not there. The fire was kept burning and the pelt was laid out and ready at all times. In that regard it was almost a little like a roadside inn, always ready to tend to a weary traveller. Though this particular "inn" only catered to a very certain blond elf currently living in Skyrim..

Seeing that his friend was alive and well always brought joy to his heart. Soon enough they would trade stories of what they´d been up to since last time they met and safely to say, Lothran was eager to hear about what Buffy thought of a province that was more cold than the Jerall Mountains!
