Yes, I know how to do it now but when Lothran got back in, one of the Conjurers had actually opened both gates. Funny how they couldnīt do it while Lothran was inside

After another day in Chorrol the Dunmer is now back in the Imperial City for his usual business of buying ingredients and offloading stuff. Some will be kept in the shack and some will go to Bruma next winter. Oh, and today Lothran did some spring cleaning and threw out some weapons and trinkets he didnīt want anymore.

My decrepit avatar and Vilja stand inside the Bravil Fighters Guild Hall, where they changed out of battle dress in preparation for a meal at Silverhome On The Water. Their beasts rest at the city stables.
My observation of their activities began in Weye Manor at 2016 the evening prior, the gang's business for the day over and done with. It was a bit late for dinner in the Imperial City, and my avatar didn't feel up to facing the crowd normally gathered at the Wawnet that time of day. Instead, he opted to eat supper in front of Foyer fireplace, while Vil retired to the dining hall for hers. He ate only the main course indoors, then had a strawberry tart and a bottle of milk on his private balcony while watching a meteor shower over the capital. He retired to his bed a few minutes prior to 2200.
Next morning he woke circa 0600, donned travel clothes, roused Vil, rode to IC (with Vil in tow), gathered assignments, replenished blessings at the Temple of the One, and breakfasted at All Saints Inn. They returned to Weye long enough to grab Wolfgang and Groucho then patrolled the Red Ring / Green to Bravil, where they received credit for yet another patrol circuit completed. They delivered two shipping assignments and, as mentioned, changed attire in the Fighters Guild.

I fired up Severan's game earlier. He was taking a stroll in the Temple District of the Imperial City when he was approached by a Dunmer woman, on behalf of her husband. He went chasing that down, and is about to head out for Memorial Cave.
But I've hit something of a problem with his game. He's got more than thirty thousand septims, and at least another five thousand worth of enchanted items(mostly armour) to sell, and Frostcrag Spire is now fully restored. Which is where the problem comes in:
I don't know that he's got any motivation to continue traipsing around Cyrodiil anymore.
I also put in a little time with Ralyn. He's killed off some mountain lions, and now has the tedium of watching Quill-Weave to deal with, so I've left that for later.

Callidus Thorn
Apr 1 2016, 03:52 PM
He was level 14, but his strength and endurance hadn't been increased, and he didn't have an enchanted weapon. So getting hit by it meant his strength and endurance were both halved, so he couldn't move. He survived a couple of those spells by chugging a healing potion and turning invisible.
But then it hit him from up close(both his nighteye and detect life spells had run out during the fight, so when he tried running, he did so blind), then followed up with its silence spell. The dispel potions that Severan was carrying simply weren't powerful enough.

The last few moments certainly were. Nothing I could do but sit and watch the faded wraith kill him, after everything else failed.
I think I'll delete his save files and restart him, with a few changes. Firstly, I don't think reddish hair looks right on a Dunmer

And I think he'll have to put a little more emphasis on getting through the recommendation quests. I don't know that that kind of character can afford to rely on finding enchanted weapons after level twelve or so, when the nastier critters start appearing.
And turn undead spells might be worth looking into...

I've now recreated Severan and gotten his new game going. What's interesting is that I'm already noticing some differences:
Obviously, he doesn't look quite the same. Since I'd long since overwritten the save at the sewer exit I had to redo the tutorial, so his face isn't the same. And his hair's black this time, though it's the same style as before.
What surprised me is his birthsign. I was going to select The Mage, but I got a very strong impression that The Atronach was the right one to pick, so I went with it.
And unlike his previous incarnation, this Severan seems to favour robes:
When in darkness or shadow, robes are useful. They blur the figure somewhat; making the outline less distinct, and so more difficult to discern or recognise, and easier to ignore or dismiss.
I wasn't expecting him to be this different, so this should be interesting...

Besides the road bandits being BFFs with Lothie these days, another strange thing happened tonight.
Lothran is currently in the Imperial City and as night fell he thought he was gonna have some fun with the sewer bandits in the Market District. Well, there werenīt any down there but as he tried to attract attention from beyond the door he suddenly got a message saying that Ontus Valus was unconscious. I didnīt even know he ever went down there!
But thatīs not all. Suddenly the guards on patrol came down and kept running against the door. No battle music though, and as soon as Lothran spoke to them they returned back up again, only to once again come running down.
After awhile the message stopped appearing and Lothran went up too, and lo and behold there was Ontus, chatting away like nothing happened.
I love these little mysterious happenings in Oblivion

He scared them away, and so they went up to the surface level, and attacked Ontus. They do that sort of thing because they're bandits. It's their job.
When he went back up, they'd have run off again, and Ontus recovered.
The bandits have probably run all the way to Bruma by now.

Severan has been busy. After fighting his way out of the sewers, he headed straight for Bruma, or more specifically, for Frostcrag Spire. He likes the tower, but right now there's nothing much that he can do with it, so he's locked it back up for later. He's also started doing his recommendation quests, much to his annoyance. Bruma was too easy.
He's now at Chorrol, has just hit level 2, and has been making use of every Ayleid well he comes across to practice his magic, mostly conjuration. Next up, the Chorrol recommendation.
He also looks pretty good in grey robes, which he favours, and is the first character I've had who's worn them.

Let's see. Right now I am with
Joan of Arkay. Wow ... 40 hours!

Party time! woo hoo!
Joanie just cleared Fort Carmala, and this one orc vampire chased Joan out of there. She had a huge sword which burned fire, and did a lot of damage to Joan, so she simply ran out of Carmala, with the vamp in hot pursuit (har har). Joan tried to throw some fireballs from a distance, jumping on top of boulders occasionally, but it was obvious she was going to need some help.
She ran up the hill to Chorrol, where the dark elf stablehand + the guard stationed outside came to Joan's rescue. Phew.
Edit: the next day, she returned to Carmala to loot the place, and found a Base Necklace of Personality! This is great for a Level 4 character. Joan has no use for this item (she doesn't use Illusion, and has no need to be a good schmoozer) so hellooooo paycheck.
