It's currently Sun's Dawn 13, 3E439. Not as much as maybe it should be after 16 (!) years, but I don't play so much each time anymore and I'm having the timescale set to 10 instead of 30.

Lothran has set up camp out on the wilderness due west of Chorrol and tomorrow he will enter said town.

Lucien Lachance is preparing to embark on a long journey to Morrowind where he will go to Mournhold and try to prevent another war of assassins between the Dark Brotherhood and Morag Tong (Tribunal DLC). He left Fort Farragut this evening, having wished all his Brothers and Sisters a good month without their Speaker - he plans on being away for a month or two at most, but you can never really plan anything with such matters.

Lucien arrived in the Imperial City around midnight, he will spend the night in his underground apartment in Arboretum, then board the Imperial Legion ship in the morning, bound for Gnisis. Or perhaps he will first make a detour to Anvil... It could be worth while. He has a bad feeling about this trip, it could be the time to collect his mother's Amulet of Dibella from its hiding place on her grave, she did say - pick it up when life takes a difficult turn... The trip to Mournhold seems to be just deserving of such an honour.

The Imperial City was still, with some of the guards having difficulty to stay awake. Two guards in the Temple District were discussing modern literature: "It was the strangest book I've ever read!" Said one and shook his head. "I've heard others say the same," nodded the other. Which book was that, Lucien wondered. In Arboretum he was about the only person in the street, not counting the guards. "I don't know if I like this," a guard muttered when he passed. And what is wrong with a dark-haired man in a black robe walking the streets in the dead of night? After all, the colour of the night in sanguine, my brother.

This is a new game that I started with Lucien as my protagonist. In a way it is more difficult than a regular game because of course he is not just anybody, not a beginner and knows how to use his blade. Rather better than I do, in fact. I am a bit apprehensive... I started him off at level 13 - you've got to be level 15 to start Tribunal in Morroblivion. But Morrowind - and Morroblivion - has some very tough enemies, and normally Lena just magics herself out of such situations, summons a daedroth or something, but Lucien is not a mage... I hope I won't embarrass him too much with my inept swordsmanship!

Anyway, the alternative start mod that I made for him, has a quest to fetch his mum's amulet "when the going gets tough". It's a tough quest in itself with some interesting dungeons (made yesterday), so I think I'll have him do that first, also to give myself a feel for how to play an assassin who isn't a mage.

Today Lothran cleared out Crumbled Mine and grabbed what little treasure there was. After that it was out into the Colovians in pouring rain

Yes! Today was day number 2000 for Lothran in Cyrodiil! Should be more after all this time but hey, it is what it is


And to mark the occasion something little extra happened. As morning came around, Lothran went out the east gate of Chorrol and headed towards Honditar's cabin, rain pouring down. As he entered the cabin just to take a look, combat music was heard. Odd, since no danger had been spotted prior to entering except a wolf although they don't attack unless Lothran has a weapon in hand.
Standing inside the cabin, it was quite soon revealed what it was all about as an ogre also entered the cabin! Lothran quickly rushed outside having already drawn a weapon whereupon that wolf attacked! Battle ensued between the elf, his Spriggan and bear and the two foes. And as if that wasn't enough there was also a mountain lion present!

After all of them had been taken care of, Lothran spotted a dead bandit where that wolf had been. And to think; none of them except the wolf had been seen before entering the cabin

Lothran is now in his shack at the Waterfront District. He couldn't spend too much time in Chorrol and the Colovians this year as Easter comes quite early and he must soon depart to Skingrad for some vamp hunting

Yes, I've seen such things happen. I remember one of my characters had a mod-added hill giant follow her into Weatherleah, of all places. The giant was so big it couldn't follow her around the cabin much, though.

And wow, 2000 in-game days. I bet if I added up all my in-game days from different people I could maybe b34t that, but it's impressive to have all those hours all in one place.

Last Seed 25, 4th Era Year 1-- Joan of Arkay is about to head into Ninendava, to seek out an Ayleid Statue. Thing is, her game used to be on Xbox, and when I transferred to PC (which has Map Marker Overhaul set to remove most markers from new games) I lost most of her map markers. So I have no idea if she's already been to Ninendava. It's one of the places mentioned by Umbacano though, so in she goes.

As a holy warrior, Joan's really good with these sort of ruins, especially if there's undead and/or necrofolks. I hope there are, and so does she.

Ah, the years of dungeon diving. These days Lothran can't be bothered with that. He's too busy admiring the views of Cyrodiil

Speaking of which; it's time to go to Skingrad! Easter is coming up

Fredas, Last Seed 30, 4E Year 1 -- Joan's persistence in exploring Ninendava has paid off! She's found the sixth Ayleid statue. This is wonderful news, mostly because we weren't sure if the place had been searched yet.

Wicked vampires and undead inhabited the ruin! It took a couple days to clear them all out, after which Joan came to a door with a lock she couldn't get by. This caused a mad trip to Chorrol, to see if anybody sold any Hard Lock scrolls, nobody did. And she's no lockpicker. So the next best thing was to buy a huge warhammer, to see if her party could smash their way in

After buying this weapon, there was another mad dash back to Ninendava, before 3 days elapsed. Wouldn't want all those menacing vampires & undead to return.

Anyway, she's got the statue. Headed to the Chorrol next, where she hopes to take on a quick bounty contract, then they'll head to the Big City. Here ya go, Umbacano.

Lothran has now entered Skingrad.

I feel like my latest return to Oblivion is going to stick this time. I'm getting that old feeling of addiction again, played OB for about 3 hours yesterday! So what I'm saying is one of these days, Joan & Lothran are going to cross paths. ... or Joan and Lady Saga. One mine will cross paths with your Nordic Dunmer.

Last I saw Joan she's back in Chorrol. Praying in the chapel (big surprise).

Lothran has just gone out into the Skingrad Reserve, as I'd like to call it. The West Weald area SE of Skingrad, moving towards the Isolated House. Prior he messed around with some vamps at Bloodcrust Mine; always good fun to lure them out into the sun and have the Spriggan fight them

Lothran came back to Skingrad two days ago with lots of flax seed in his pocket for later use in potions. Yesterday evening was spent strolling around the beautiful town under a star spangled sky after some time at Two Sister's Lodge.

Eventually he retired back to his room upstairs at the local Fighters Guild.

Well Joan of Arkay has been spending time in the Cheydinhal area, searching Ayleid ruins for statues. We went through Belda and Kemen. I think I spent 4 or 5 in-game days with her altogether. Neither ruins had any statues, but there were Varla stones and plenty of good loot, which is good because she's savin' up for a faster horse. Probably Chestnut. None of mine have ever had a chestnut horse before, imagine that?

Ayleid ruins are always interesting. Never know what you're gonna find in those. I still remember the fight that ensued when Lothran laid his hands on the Greater Welkynd Stone...

Yeah, something odd happened with the Great Stone in Loth's game, right? I remember reading about this.

You know, I thought I had mentioned that in Lothran's thread but I just went through it and I couldn't find anything. Guess I just mentioned that here and didn't think it was worth writing about it there.

But yeah; the big fight after collecting that stone threw us both off quite a bit. And this is when Lothran has maxed out and has all the good weapons and all, but that fight was quite brutal and he had to use everything he had to stay alive!

Morndas, early morning, Heartfire 16, 4E Year 1 -- Joan of Arkay just finished searching Nagastani. No statue, and other than a few coins and gems, not a whole lot of riches. 👛

But one thing I'm noticing is she's really good at fighting daedra and creatures. Gargoyles, imps, golems, trolls, etc. She's got it down to a science, the way she takes these beings out. And since her background started in Morrowind, now we know why she's so good.

Lothran has been spending some time in the Great Forest and specifically the area around Brindle Home and Gottlesfont Priory. Today saw him going back to Skingrad, reapiring his dagger and then going to bed. Nothing else worthy of mentioning.

Well it is Fredas, Heartfire 20 in Joan's game. She is headed to the Imperial City as we speak, with plenty of loot to sell. I get the feeling she's easily going to be able to buy a new horse. Maybe even she'll be able to afford the Library section of her home, Battlehorn Castle.

Good news also: she went into Vilverin and I had a look at the in-dungeon map, which was pretty cloudy. This means Vilverin never got explored by Joanie! -- I'm not sure if there's an Ayleid statue in there or not. 🗿 Won't matter in the end, there'll no doubt by other treasures to find.

Vilverin is a place we all see fresh out of the sewers, but one that Lothran actually didn't explore until like a few years ago!

That's true about Vilverin, and it's probably the reason she never explored there. Because back when I rolled Joan (2013) a few of my others had done Vilverin by then.

Anyway, I was right about her payout. She's earned close to 5,000 Septims after selling a bunch of loot. Definitely enough for a Chestnut.

Yeah, there is a horse there, wow. Is this her horse though? I guess it is, since she owns the castle. I've been in the habit of thinking it belongs to someone who lives there.

Joan is at Battlehorn now and there is no horse in the stable. BUT, this doesn't mean there a horse wasn't here previously. I'm pretty certain there was.

Ah, it's no matter. She's got just over 5000 at the moment. Time to head to Chorrol and go for the upgrade.

Lothran is still enjoying the West Weald and its neatly trimmed grass. I wonder who mows it?


Anyway; just made save number 29.000!

I have my gaming computer up and running, so I can check Joan's saves. Save 2119, and she's up to 276 hours, 33 mins, 20 seconds, nice!

Anyway, she just got done ridding Seridur from Memorial Cave. Joan's probably not going to do the entire Order of Virtuous Blood questline. I want to get her to the part when we can sell Vampire Dust to Roland. That'll be a nice steady supply of money because she's frequently dealing with vampires.

Well, there isn't more to it than that, is it? Lothran can sell dust if he wants but there's no option to advance any questline.


Unless of course, Moddy McModess has a mod for it...

Lothran has returned to his shack in the Imperial City waterfront. His time in Skingrad has now concluded and he's back to offload all the stuff he has collected and also to have a look around the big city before he's once again off towards Skingrad but with Anvil in mind.

Middas, 10:42 am, Frost Fall 16: Joan is in Mackamentain, and according to what we're seeing on the interior map, this is a place she hasn't explored yet. Which means hello Statue #7! Hopefully.

Lately she's been wearing the following: standard iron cuirass, steel greaves, iron boots. But from there it's all magical gear. Gauntlets of the Hunter (Detect Life, 85 ft), Base Ring of Reflection (Reflect Spell 14%), Helmet of the Mage (Fortify Magic 20 pts, Spell Absorption 14 pts).

She wields a Shortsword of Embers, and carries a very rare Witchfinder's Shield (Reflect Spell 11%). Mackamentain is full of undead but its first room contains one of those gigantic spike traps, the ones which raise an entire floor into the air! Those are always fun to lure baddies into.

Mackamentain brings back memories, though very distant ones. Quite a big ruin isn't it?

Not really the most enormous, but it has three zones to explore.

She is in a mod-added village in the middle of the Colovian Forest called Silverfish Falls. Buying & selling, getting gear repaired. Next she's headed back to the city. Umbacano's gonna have two more statues in his silly case pretty soon.

Frost Fall 24, Year 1 -- The trip to the Imperial City was successful. Two Ayleid statues delivered, the Order of Virtuous Blood quest complete, and a good amount of loot was sold. 2,200 Septims deposited into Bank of Cyrodiil.

mirocu you were right. The OVB quest pretty much ends once we defeat Seridur, and tell Roland it's safe for him to return to the city. I've got a mod which prolongs this questline, adding vampires and new quests everywhere, but I already did most of it (it's really long) 5 or 6 years ago with Renee Gade III.

Speaking of, I switched to RG3's game. Haven't touched been with her since 2021, apparently. Unlike Joan's gameworld, RG3's is 22 years after the events after the O. Crisis.

Lothran is now back in Skingrad but he won't be staying there for long this time. Easter is well behind us and now he's looking ahead towards Anvil!

Skingrad is well behind now as Lothran has taken a breather at the usual place; Shetcombe Farm. Along the way a bandit and two bears were disposed of and a legionnaire was brought back to life.

Lothran is now in Anvil. This will serve as his base of operations for the foreseeable future as summer is rolling in

After a long time in Anvil county, Lothran has now reached Bravil. He went there directly from Anvil with only a very brief stop at his shack in the Imperial City Waterfront to collect some stuff to bring along. He now rests at Silverhome on the Water and will proceed to his home in Bravil next session.
