Today Lothran will head out again into Leyawiin county. This time he will roam the western side of town as the east side has been taken care of. No dungeons, the countryside is too nice biggrin.gif
Renee
Lothran is back from the Isles? Why did he return to the mainland?

QUOTE(Kane @ Oct 4 2020, 08:34 AM) *

I didn't call in sick after starting Skyrim, but when Fallout 4 came out I scheduled two days off work to play non-stop. If we ever get TES IV, I'll probably take a week!

Falorn made it to Cheydinhal and met the family. First contract - a pirate!

That's great. I know why he's going to Cheydinhal. emot-ninja1.gif For nefarious notions, I assume. ph34r.gif

ReneeMemoryMode Activated: I can remember my original Renee Gade character discovered the ... place I assume Falorn was going to. I don't remember if Renee was 'contacted' or not. I don't think she was. Pretty sure she discovered it on accident.

Hehe, that's funny because the most open game I had come from was Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. I countless hours in that game just going around doing whatever.

ReneeOff-TopicMode Activated: Exactly! That was the idea of GTA for me too. I first saw San Andreas because I had a drug problem in those days (mid 2000s), and my dealer played San Andreas. It blew me away. But I didn't like the thuggy aspect of the game, so i did some reading about the other games of the series and discovered Vice City, which had more of a Miami Vice feel to it. I could do that! I was terrible about doing missions, so instead I'd just drive around, causing havoc. panic.gif Stealing and smashing cars, etc.

The thing about Oblivion though was I could create my OWN character... female or male. 10 different races. Face customization, and on and on... ahem.

Uh oh... I think I hear the Hall Monitor. Better cancel off-topic mode, ha ha.

Lothran is back from the Isles? Why did he return to the mainland?

Because the vacation was over. Now it's time to return to the usual routines smile.gif

Lothran is having a nice time in Blackwood and he will soon go to Cheydinhal before preparing for the journey home to Bruma in the Imperial City. No Bruma until end of Novbember though, as usual.
mirocu
Lothran is now resting at Drunken Dragon Inn after having left Leyawiin early in the morning. A Courier rider and a regular troll are all that's worthy of mentioning. I reckon next stop is Imperial Bridge Inn and then it's on to Cheydinhal.
Renee
Today is Lady Saga's real-life birthday. cake.gif I rolled her on October 19, 2011 just before Skyrim was released. The original idea I had with Saga was that she'd explore all the locations none of my others had found in Cyrodiil. I just began gaming with her last week, and last I remember, she is in Skingrad.
mirocu
I would have thought that post was to be made by Lady Saga instead of Renee, but what you gonna do? biggrin.gif

Anyway; happy b-day Saga! Why don't you take a stroll by Cropsford and say hi to Lothie, as he's there right now on his way to Cheydinhal. Getting there he helped the same Courier from before to get rid of a Timber Wolf, a Black Bear, an Imp and a Spriggan. Don't know why but they really seemed to hate reading about Night Mother rituals being on the rise again wink.gif
macole
Happy Birthday Lady Saga, sorry to have missed the party.
mirocu
Lothran is now in Cheydinhal and as usual his first order of business was to take care of business. Which is to say, selling stuff found on bandits and buying ingredients. He would have recharged his weapons too but he already did that when stopping by Morcant in her cottage on the way to Cheydinhal.

Now after a good night's sleep, Lothran will visit the chapel and continue to enjoy the town smile.gif

'Why walk when you can run' has always
been your motto. Now the miles of running

your rate of fatigue regeneration

Yes indeed; today is a special day! Lothran actually advanced to another Master rank! I can't remember when last that happened but I think it may have been Blunt that time. Today's advancement happened north of Cheydinhal, not far from the goblin mine in that area. And yes; a pic of evidence is present in the pic thread! happy.gif

. . . and how many years did this take? biggrin.gif

QUOTE(Acadian @ Oct 22 2020, 09:40 PM) *

. . . and how many years did this take? biggrin.gif

13 years and eight months biggrin.gif

--------------------

Last night Lothran left Cheydinhal and went to have some fun with the vampires who resides in Barren Cave. Always fun to lure them out into the sun, much like we do in Skingrad during Easter biggrin.gif

--------------------

Lothran has now reached Roxey Inn. It's late afternoon and next session will see him finally enter the Imperial City to make preparations for the journey north. Thing of note; he's actually collecting valuable stuff from bandits to sell because he's so low on gold it's almost embarrassing rollinglaugh.gif

--------------------

Imperial City, evening.

It was well past opening hours when Lothran entered the market district at around 9:30PM so instead of selling and buying he went to say hi to Jakben, Earl of Imbel, talk to Ida Vlinorman and then rent a room at the King and Queen for the night. But not before taking care of a bandit that sprung up through a sewer grate at the market district. Lothran may or may not have coaxed her to come up and fight but he did enjoy watching everyone come and hack her down and leave him the spoils to sell the next day tongue.gif

---------------------

-Ah, another happy spectator. You of course want to bet on a fight.
Who will it be this time? The Blue team or the Yellow team?

Lothran always picks the Blue team. After all, he was once a member there and is a bit biased. He also always bets 100 gold; why mess around with pennies? And yes; he won! He got the 100 gold back plus another 100 as pure winnings. Perfect for another day in the market district! biggrin.gif

---------------------

First night onboard the Marie Elena. Yes; another tradition where Lothran spends time on the Elena to mark his coming journey to the north. Not much else today worthy of mentioning. The Dunmer has gone into the quiet part of the year biggrin.gif
Renee
Sundas, Sun's Height 21, Year 435 -- In my gameworld, this is the final day of the Third Era. The Grey Wizard (my Champion of Cyrodiil) would have witnessed the final events of the main quest several months before, but I figure it takes awhile for the Elder Council to make their votes, which makes everything official.

-----------------------

Lothran is currently sitting in the Arcane University. It's nighttime and not many people are up, but a few are. When Lothran visited Buffy's apartment above the Mystic Archives, the female mage there informed him that since Buffy hasn't been seen for years, her apartment has been converted back to its former status as a library.

wink.gif
Acadian
Happy vampire hunting to Lady Saga!

Last the Arcane U heard from Buffy, she had time traveled back about 750 years to Valenwood. They understand she is still active in the guild and lives in a tree now.
macole
Right now the Jandaga and his little band are standing outside Wenyandawik preparing to take on a vampire army. If M'Lady hurries she can join in on the festivities.
mirocu
Looks like it's a free-for-all on vamps now! biggrin.gif
Renee
Nice, so mirocu you have a dedicated place which used to be Buffy's flat. smile.gif That's lovely.

Wenyandawik is fun, as I recall Some places are really fun to raid. Is that a bad thing to say?

Last I saw, Lady Saga completed some bounty hunts in the Bravil area, and is off to Leyawiin next. She's got some business there, but I forget what it is. She's been making fistfuls of coin lately though, rather unusual for her. She even hired the Bravil's Fighters Guild Porter, who now follows her outside of the actual guild. wink.gif

"There's one arrow. There's another one"

Lothran always make sure to collect as many silver arrows off the ground as he can, when the guards are done missing the bandit he lures out of the sewers in the Market District. A little one of Lothran's favourite games; instead of paying to go see a match in the arena, this is a much better way to earn some gold. No cash input, a fun spectacle and the spoils after having been sold always yield much more than 100 gold in profit! smile.gif
Renee
Interesting. At this point though, does he really need the extra money? Doesn't he have way more than you two know what to do with? And then you must "donate" a bunch of stuff / gold to clear out some inventories?

Kidding. laugh.gif My archer Lady Saga almost never retrieves arrows. Only if she's deep in some dungeon and running low will she start to look for ones which have missed, or even have gotten stuck in some enemies! indifferent.gif Otherwise, she buys or makes her own all the time. There are usually several hundred bolts and arrows carried by her horse. We like seeing this inventory go down! It means she's making a difference in her world, in theory.

Lothran has actually been quite low on gold as of late. Not that he needs much, but no one recharges for free nor give away ingredients, so some cash on hand is needed.

Oh okay, I didn't know that.

Yeah she can make her own arrows, and that's part of an add-on. I really like that part of her world... it's like she lives off the land in some ways.

Moseying around the Waterfront, visiting the Marie Elena and the Bloated Float, talking to Armand Christoffe. This is how Lothran spends his time before leaving to go to Aleswell. He has also been collecting calipers and tongs, just in case he decides to visit the Madgod's Isles again next summer.

They weren't hard to find in the Imperial City. But when going through one of his cupboards, Lothran discovered he already had 30+ of both so all that searching was unnecessary! rolleyes.gif
Acadian
Ahah, must be autumn. Nice to see Lothran commencing his 'winter' routine that will eventually carry him to Bruma, where I'm sure the guard commander will be pleased to see him. happy.gif
mirocu
Yes, it's not long now before it's time to go. In fact, tonight is the last night in the Imperial City. Tomorrow morning Lothran will pack up all his stuff and head out towards Aleswell. And next Friday will see the Dunmer once again reach the gates of Bruma!
mirocu
Lothran has now reached Aleswell. Almost immediately he had to rush out and dispatch a troll which was way too close to the settlement for comfort. All the sheep accounted for and Lothran is now relaxing at the inn. Wanting to talk to all three Dunmer siblings might prove difficult; the bluest sister is trapped inside the stairs as usual... wink.gif

Is everyone still invisible in his gameworld?

Oh, no. They were helped many years ago. Wouldn't be surprised if it was back in 2007, our first year adventuring. Bruma was Lothran's first town to visit outside the Imperial City and Aleswell is on the way so yeah, probably back in 2007.

Lothran still visits Ancotar on his journey to Bruma every winter and I expect him to do so tomorrow.
mirocu
Ancotar was visited yesterday as planned and today we explored Fingerbowl Cave again. Took care of everything in the first section but didn't bother with all the sub-sections. Gold was found which finally pushed Lothie's pile up to and over 10.000 gold coins.

No good loot found.
Renee
Ancotar is such a silly man. greenwizardsmile.gif Yes, I think all of mine have let him live as well. I know Renee Gade III visited him last time she was in the Aleswell area. The guy never changes.

mirocu
Ancotar, Ancotar never changes..? wink.gif

-------------------------

Today Lothie got himself a special assignment; getting the blue sister out from the stairs. Yes; she's still trapped inside, ever since Monday! ohmy.gif
In order to do this he was allowed access to a special spell, a spell not even taught at the Arcane University. The spell in question is called TCL and when cast allows Lothie to go inside the stairs and meet up with the sister.

Once there he cast the Command Humanoid spell on her, exited the stairs and waited. She didn't get out from her trap but he could see from her shadow that she tried as well as hear her running steps. So close and yet so far away! But then, Lothie cast the TCL spell once more whereupon he exited the Aleswell inn and whola! There she was! She wasn't too happy though having been a prisoner, but after some sweettalk she was once again happy and went back inside the inn, making sure to stay far away from the stairs. By walking upstairs to the second floor... Ok, never mind tongue.gif
Acadian
Clever warlock! tongue.gif

Bruma, midday

Lothran has now arrived in the snowy town of Bruma, having left Aleswell in the morning. Sky is clear and surprisingly there were no monsters along the way, only a couple of bandits. There's usually an ogre and a minotaur.

Entering his home, the smell of locked-in air greeted him. As did the cold; no roaring fire in the fireplace yet. The Dunmer sat down at the dinner table. A bit of rest was needed before starting a fire and off-loading all the stuff he brought.

Lothran was home again.
Acadian
And Lothran is home for the winter! I hope he gets that fire going soon and can settle in to his Bruma routine.
mirocu
Yes; the fire is now once again warming Lothran's house and the routines you speak of will soon commence happy.gif

Today was spent mostly just putting things collected over the year into their respective container. Of note I can mention 6 Daedric arrows, two scrolls of Weakness to Disease and one Weakness to Normal Weapons and no less than two Varla Stones! And the amount of Bergamot seeds Lothran brought pushed those samples over 1K! tongue.gif
mirocu
"I'm Snar the Cook. We've got genuine Skyrim cuisine. Fresh, simple, big helpings.... Just like Mom used to make."

Lothran can't help but smile. Doesn't Snar remember him? Well, it has been six months since they met, after all. And Snar is probably very busy.
The air in Bruma is the same, as are all the people. Karinnarre is still not living together with Suurootan anymore and Istirus is still loitering around Lothran's house forcing the Dunmer to chase him off time and time again. And Honmund is still collecting samples of Clouded Funnel Cap. Oh! Must remember to check how many he has now and how many he has at the end of the winter season! biggrin.gif
Renee
That's great to hear you made it. I think Snar the Cook is just playing around. He knew Lothran would come back someday. He always comes back. Since there is no fire in the Bruma house by default, how did you add this?

Lady Saga is on her way to Bruma by the way. It is deep into Sun's Height, and the hot / humid weather down south is causing her to seek some cooler relief. So as you know, if I'm saying this now, on December 1st of 2020, she'll make to Bruma hopefully some time this month. laugh.gif

Renee
I think for Dyan's game long ago (PS3), I positioned a torch in her fireplace as well. She's the one who owns the Bruma House in my world. santa.gif

Well one thing's for sure. By the time Saga gets there Lothran will still be in Bruma. Because doesn't he stay up north until March? Something like that. Hey, at least the two will finally meet. santaclaus.gif

mirocu
March it is, early March usually.

Also; Lothran checked with Honmund today and he had 441 samples of Clouded Funnel Caps on his person. Eh.. hehe... sorry... biggrin.gif ....
mirocu
Today was day one of Lothran's wilderness wandering for this winter season. One bandit taken care of north of Bruma and then it was off to clear out Plundered Mine. As usual it seemed to be under attack already by another tribe and Lothran took advantage of that of course. Some gold coins and a silver nugget was found in addition to some of the higher end weaponry and potions which are to be sold.

Then it was time to go east to the bandit camp on the road and on the way there, Lothran was pleased to see that the forester who's been patrolling the bend before the straight to Dragonclaw Rock was indeed still there. Gotta admire the forester's perseverance!
mirocu
Plundred Mine was cleared first time for the season last weekend and today it was time for Capstone Cave.

As usual Lothran just ran in with a light spell on and when he came to a dead end he summoned his spriggan and watched the show. Afterwards he found some pretty nice loot; two gold nuggets, some valuable armor, gold coins and even some daedra arrows! All will be kept except the armor and next up is a nice evening at Olav's Tap and Tack happy.gif
Acadian
Nice to hear about Lothran's tradition winter frolicking. tongue.gif
mirocu
After spending an afternoon in the wood north of Bruma, it was time for another evening at Olav's. The usual clientele showed up and Ongar almost got hacked down for nicking food again. Lucky for him though, the guard who barged in quickly got distracted by a conversation with Olav and completely forgot about the misdemeanor tongue.gif

And it is now time to get ready for this year's ogre hunt in Pale Pass. Come Sunday (or Monday) Lothran will pack up his gear and head for the Serpent's Trail.
mirocu
Lothran just spent one last evening at Olav's Tap and Tack before the annual Christmas ogre hunt in Pale Pass. Everyone showed up, excluding Honmund who is probably out gathering samples of clouded funnel cap. Or he had gone home before Lothran showed up. He doesn't like to linger too far in the evenings.
Ongar nicked food as always but the guard coming to hack him down stopped to compiment Lothran on something and totally forgot why he even came there.

After a good night's sleep, supplies were gathered and checked and currently Lothran is looking at the map that leads to Serpent's Trail. He knows the way but still likes to look at the map, if only to mentally prepare himself.

It is now time to go.

Acadian
Looking forward to hearing how many ogre teeth Lothie comes back with!
Renee
Lady Seed 24--Lady Saga makes her way to Cropsford. In her 4th Era game, Cropsford is a fully-established village, with crops and homes and one store. A great place to visit, after struggling up the Yellow Road. She's headed toward Cheydinhal next. Or maybe the Roxey Inn. Never quite know which direction she'll go next.
mirocu
Early morning Lothran set off out the East gate and towards Serpent's Trail. Snow was coming down hard and the only people out besides himself were the guards and the forester on the way leading to Dragonclaw Rock.

Serpent's Trail. Long has it been since Lothran first set foot inside this dark and dangerous system. Back then he had little experience and no spriggan to aid him in his fights, he was by himself. Now, Lothran usually lets his spriggan do the work as he prefers to look for treasures in peace. This year he found a Flawless Diamond, a Topaz, a silver nugget and a rare silver spoon that one of the Ogre Cavebosses had in its possession. Not a bad turnout!

After sneaking through the Trail and opening the heavy door at the end, Lothran once again found himself face to face with the legendary Pale Pass. So many memories from this place. So many years of hunting ogres during Christmas and spending time in absolute solitude.

Many ogres were slain while Lothran made his way to the ancient fort to put up his tent at the very top like always. It is now mid-afternoon and sun is beginning to set. Some repairs were needed as well as some healing. Lothran had come close to the ogres and they gave him a bruise or two, but nothing serious. All weapons were used, including Snowflake which is always used in combination with a special Weakness spell.

Tomorrow the real hunt will begin.
mirocu
It was late in the afternoon when Lothran began the 2020 annual Christmas hunt. Therefore he opted to only hunt the ogre closest to the fort which he saw on the way there. It was wandering beyond the frozen lakes, never noticing the kerfuffle when its brethren fought the intruder.
First arrow missed. Lothran nocked a second arrow, aiming more carefully now. Hit! The ogre started to run towards where he thought the shooter was but after awhile it lost interest when it couldn't find anyone responsible for the arrow. So Lothran put the bow away, unsheathed Goldbrand and ran towards the ogre.

As Lothran ran forth, he got noticed by what he thought was the ogre he shot at, but that one was wandering further below. The attacking ogre was quickly taken care of and Lothran prepared to face the initial one, and this is when things got weird. The ogre didn't attack! Lothran was standing up with sword in hand and fully visible, but the ogre, still with the arrow in its shoulder, just lazily wandered past Lothran, not even giving him a second glance!

In all his years in Cyrodiil, this has never, NEVER, happened to the Dunmer! An ogre that didn't attack you on sight? Unheard of! In shock Lothran just stood there, looking at the ogre as it kept walking slowly to where it had been when it got shot.

-He.... Hey! We're supposed to fight! Lothran shouted as he sheathed his sword and grabbed his bow again to nock another arrow. And THAT was when the ogre suddenly realized that the Dunmer, who just moments before had killed his friend with the sword, was the same one who shot him. (Yeah, they're not too bright, are they?) It quickly turned around and started to attack but it was no match even to the shocked Dunmer who subdued it with a spell and dispatched it with Snowflake.

By now it was now getting dark so Lothran got back up to his tent to ponder about today's events. Finding a Flawless Diamond is one thing, but an ogre that didn't attack on sight? One in a million.
Acadian
How funny about that dumb ogre!
