Fleur and Petal did a lot of mailing materials between accounts, the EU crew did some catching up on Master Writs etc. and then Fleur went to pick up the Scribing Altar Grits put in the guild bank a couple of months ago. Couldn't find it, and the guild history doesn't tell me where it went, probably because it doesn't go back far enough. So EU guildhall still doesn't have one.

mALX check your inventory on EU, it looks like you pulled it about two weeks ago probably accidentally while stacking guild bank items. (I have an add-on that shows a month of history.) If not, then it's a mystery.

I have the vouchers for two more sets of attunable stations, but I'll hold off on one in case the Scribing Altar doesn't turn up.

AHA!!!! I did pick it up in the Guild Bank = it was over the limit on items in the bank and the alter had been in there a while so I thought no one wanted it. I will most def put it back into the bank, lol. Sorry about that.

Hey folks, I’ll miss this month’s meetups. Have fun and good hunting!
Acadian
Thanks for letting us know, Grits. We'll miss you, hope all is well and will look forward to seeing you for next month's meetings. smile.gif
mALX

I am hoping to be able to make tomorrow's NA Guild Meet; but I can't make tonight's EU Meet. Since Grits is unable to make it too; then if you plan a rain check date for the EU Meet = I'm in if at all possible!

ghastley

OK, accepting bids for EU date and time. Only period ruled out is during NA meeting for me. But if we bump it too much, we might collide with the December ones.

I am hoping this will be the last emergency this month; so should be available the rest of the month except this upcoming Thursday night (getting to spend time with my son and his wife which is rare) and Thanksgiving Wednesday and Thursday (cooking those two days). The rest of November should (hopefully) be wide open other than coming in late due to feeding horses.

Has anyone done the Earthen Root Enclave DLC dungeon yet? I am wanting a set of Armor out of it on the NA server; didn't know if it would be an Undaunted Pledge one day or not.

Yep. It'll be one of the dungeons to get event tickets from in a week or so when the "Legacy of the Bretons" event starts smile.gif

(Would HIGHLY recommend at least 3 people for that dungeon. I've done it as a 2 a couple of times, but a couple of fights get a bit hairy)

I will be looking for volunteers, lol. (seriously). I can wait till the Event though. All I have are DPS Templars; and they don't get picked up readily as subs on the "Group Finder" thing.

You did it with just two though? That is very encouraging!!!

What is going on with the EU guild meet this month? I went there just now thinking it would be this week; but no one is there; ... ?

Because Petal wanted to do Maj's pledge for the new Golden thing, she tried to solo Banished Cells 2, but got stuck at the Maw. When mALX checked in to see if an EU meet was happening, burnt and I happened to be online, so we decided to have a meeting, and finish off what Petal had started. Then we did some other stuff, and talked about sets, and ended up switching over to the NA server and hunting the Earthen Root Enclave for Rage of the Ursauk. Several runs later, having found all the secret bosses, and worn ourselves out, we noticed it was past midnight (or 5AM UK time) and called it a day (or two).

I don't believe anyone took screenshots, but it did happen! biggrin.gif

I actually DID take screenshots; but it was after the meet was over. Took screenshots of my new build (Thank you and Burnt SO MUCH!!!!!!!) with 4 pieces of the Rage of the Ursauk/5 pieces of Tzogvins/and Mythic Velothi Ur necklace on = took some before pics/during pics/and some pics of the build with just 3 pieces of the Ursauk on and replacing the 4th piece of it with the Valkyn Skoria monster helm.

** The change is only in the armor; I am still using the War Maiden staves for weapons unless or until someone suggests a better set that is doable for me (I can't do Maelstrom Arena).

I enlisted the help of the Combat Metrics addon for the results; plus my own feel for what was going on in the fights as I tested her out after each change.

The end result = she was melting the faces off the enemies with the 4 pieces of Rage of the Ursauk; but her Health/Magicka and recovery were really low = a lot lower than even her original build.

With the Valkyn Skoria she looked much better ON PAPER; but in combat = not nearly as good as with the four pieces of the Rage of the Ursauk on. Her health and recovery were improved though; so she would probably have better sustain in that combo.

Anyway; I golded them all out; changed their enchantment to Magicka (all were Stamina pieces) = and started the process of changing over the Traits till I ran out of Transmute Crystals.

Unfortunately; both sets are medium armor so she loses all her light armor bonuses unless I use the Valkyn Skoria Guise; and that only gives her one piece of light. Is it okay to do this to a mage?

Anyway; her DPS went WAY up from the changes; so I intend to enjoy the changes, lol.

(of course, it is still my lacking adept driving of the character; so therein lies the real problem, laugh.gif )

I pretty much run medium armour on every DD, the passives are just so much better. Much better to reduce the enemies armour through debuffs like major and minor breach than trying to get penetration through light armour.

I'm a little confused. You're running one 5 piece set, a mythic, a monster set, and staves from another set entirely? Most people run an Arena weapon on the back bar, as it does a chunk of extra damage for ground AOE weapon skills, which keep the back bar weapon glyphs proccing even when they switch back to the front bar, but not usually both. Or maybe I'm not quite understanding what you mean.

Could you post (or pm if you don't want to publicly post) 2 of the screens from Combat Metrics? Just hit F12 on the recap. I'll post the 2 screens I mean below, just so I can understand.

mALX

Holy Cow your DPS is high!!!!!

Okay; good news on the medium armor.

Next: no, no monster set at all. I am running 5 pieces of Tzogvins; the Mythic Velothi Ur necklace; and 4 pieces of Rage of Uresauk.

I originally tested out switching ONE piece of the Rage of Uresauk set for one piece of Valkyn Skoria; but it didn't work as well so I just went back to the 5/4/1 (Tzogvins/Rage of Uresauk/and the Velothi Ur).

That above is all armor and jewelry; which leaves me with the same weapons I was carrying originally. (War Maiden)

What names would the Arena weapons have? I have done all the Arenas except Maelstrom; (couldn't get past the second boss on it) but really can't remember what weapons I got from it if any.

ghastley
Usually your weapons are part of the same set as the jewels. Without a mythic, you would have the other set on waist, hands, feet, legs and chest, and the head and shoulders would be a monster set. The mythic would displace one piece of a set, and usually that is the monster set, as one piece of monster can still be useful. The five-piece bonuses are the ones to keep.

So your weapons should be Tzogvins to match the rings, and so should the head. That's five pieces of that set, you have Rage on the body, and the shoulder would be something like Stonekeeper, which adds health ,stamina and magicka, or one that gives recovery instead of max.
Burnt Sierra
Problem is, from my reading, is that mALX doesn't have any of the weapons for either set, which is why she's still using War Maiden. Sent you a PM mALX.
Burnt Sierra
Right, I'm fully awake now, and done the maths, so you can ignore the PM if you want lol!

Running five pieces of Tzogvin's gives you 1487 pen, and 14% crit chance (Definitely do this, it really is one of the strongest sets in the game!)
Velothi Ur adds a further 1650 penetration, and a flat 15% damage increase on everything. Both Tzogvin's and Velothi also give 10% crit damage, but it only counts once.
700 penetration from Champion Points passive.
1 piece light armour gives 939 penetration

= 4,776 pen needed

Add a skill with Major Breach - 5948 and you're past the pen cap for overland. So Elemental Susceptibility which lasts 30 seconds and could be on your back bar, or a scribing skill like Wield Soul which you'd use as a spammable every 10 seconds on your front bar, either one will work fine.

Which would mean running 4 pieces of Rage of the Ursauk would be redundant. So, add one piece of light Slimecraw (highest crit chance per one piece in the game - either head or shoulder) and you have the option of any 5 piece set you know. For example, pick an easy overland proc set, that will add extra damage just for attacking:(both of which are easy to farm, or could be bought cheap on Guild Traders)

Defiler from Vvardenfell
2 items: Adds 3-129 Weapon and Spell Damage
3 items: Adds 15-657 Critical Chance
4 items: Adds 15-657 Critical Chance
5 items: When you deal Critical Damage, you summon a Hunger that spews poison to all enemies in front of it, dealing 990 Poison Damage and stunning any enemy hit for 5 seconds. This effect can occur once every 5 seconds and scales off the higher of your Weapon and Spell Damage.

Venomous Smite from Western Skyrim:
2 items: Adds 15-657 Critical Chance
3 items: Adds 15-657 Critical Chance
4 items: Adds 3-129 Weapon and Spell Damage
5 items: Dealing Critical Damage inflicts Hunter's Venom on your enemy for 10 seconds, dealing 714 Poison damage to your target and enemies within 6 meters of them every 2 seconds. This effect can occur once every 15 seconds and scales off the higher of your Weapon and Spell Damage.

or buy the Deadly Strike set from Guild Traders, which will boost both the sweeps/jabs skill, and the amazing, amazing, amazing incredibly powerful execute (that also heals you!) Radiant Glory as both of those are channelled attacks. (It will also come in incredibly handy if you have an Arcanist character as well)
2 items: Adds 3-129 Weapon and Spell Damage
3 items: Adds 15-657 Critical Chance
4 items: Adds 3-129 Weapon and Spell Damage
5 items: Increase the damage your damage over time and channeled attacks do by 15%.

All of those three are medium sets, so you won't pass the pen cap further, and will all add quite a hefty chunk of damage without having to do anything different. If you're using staves as your weapon of choice, I'd pick a lightning staff, as the Ancient Knowledge passive in the Destruction Staff skill line also increases your damage done with direct damage and channeled effects by 12% (again increasing the damage your jabs/sweeps and Radiant Glory do.)

p.s. If you want to see just how amazing the amazing, amazing, amazingly powerful Radiant Glory is, look at the photo below. Despite only starting to use the skill once the enemy your fighting drops to 30% health, it gives by far the most damage of anything. And did I mention it heals you too?

HOLY COW, look at your DPS!!!!!

I never redid my Templar when they got nerfed so badly last year; I was just starting to play a Templar for the first time and afraid to mess with her; but ... HOLY COW your DPS is high!!!! Do those pictures tell what armor you are using? Because I can't see the pictures clearly; they look too blurry to read = probably my eyesight; which is notoriously bad.

Okay; on the armor = are you saying to not use the Rage of Uresauk at all? Just use Tzogvins and an overland set?

On the Tzogvin's I have one ring and 4 armor pieces. (Jack, Guards, Boots, and shoulder) I have the Mythic Velothi Ur necklace.

So I have to fill in the head, hands, waist, one ring, and weapons on both bars.

If I can get the weapons, ring, hands, and waist of any one set; I can use one piece of any Monster set. I have a light Slimecraw; but when I tried it out yesterday my DPS dropped on the Combat Metrics.

I will have to get screens of the Combat Metrics; I do know it showed my penetration at 12,000 with the Valkyn Skoria on (which also adds pen). I checked when I put that Valkyn Skoria helm on because I was worried about it reaching the 18K cap.

I may need to check where I have my CP points; maybe I am missing the pen on it?

Yes, that's exactly right. Easiest ways to improve damage are to combine a strong stat set (of which Tzogvins is one of the absolute strongest non-trial sets around) with either a proc set (Think Pillar of Nirn, the ones mentioned earlier, Aegis Caller etc) or a set that adds damage to abilities (so Templar and Arcanist get a huge boost from Deadly Strike.) Rage of the Ursauk gives an interesting 5 piece bonus, but doesn't really help your damage, it's more of a support set. But with only four pieces, just not worth it.

Yes, but leave the helmet for Slimecraw then, I'll come to that in a sec. So hands, waist, ring and weapons all from one set, and same set weapons for back bar (whether you choose the same type is up to you, you might fancy daggers front, staff back, staff both front and back etc)

Not surprised you saw a dps loss, but if you are running a second five piece set with one piece of Slimecraw, you won't. You want to run either a mythic or a monster set. And mythics are stronger generally. In Velothi's case, quite a bit stronger, which is why we want to add in proc damage or boost skill damage.

You're putting waaaaay too much emphasis on penetration. There's two situations where going over 9100 pen can be useful - either a Veteran Arena (where you're solo), or a 4 man Dungeon boss (and again, only when you're solo.) World Bosses, delves, public dungeons, even minions in 4 man dungeons (in other words 99% of the enemies you face) only have 9100 resistances, anything over that is just wasted. When we drag you into a 4 man dungeon, and Ghastley's tanking on one of his characters, he's reducing that bosses armour by 9100, so you still don't need over that 9100 mark. Up to 9100, reducing the enemies armour is really strong, over 9100 is a total waste (unless veteran arenas or soloing 4 man dungeons.)

edit: Think I've figured out the problem. You're testing your DPS on either a 3m or 6m dummy. Those do have 18200 resistances, but like stated above you won't ever need to reach 18200 in content. Test it on the 21m trial dummy, and you'll see the difference.
ghastley
Now we have the Master Crafting Tables filled for EU, I need to start playing the rest of the game again. A lot of my characters on both servers have very basic crafted/overland sets, so they'll be happy to accompany mALX's characters getting some better dungeon sets.

Oh, and we have an Iron Atronach trial dummy at EU Hunding's now, too, so sets can be tested when we have them.

Oh, I LOVE Pillar of Nirn; but only have 3 pieces of it. I am pretty sure I have several pieces of Deadly Strike and on overland sets I have Spinner; War Maiden; Mad Tinkerer; and Mother's Sorrow. I have almost all the Monster sets.

Well, she has no stamina; I sank every point into Magicka (so prefer staffs on both bars). I have several sets of Slimecraw in all different armor types (heavy, light, medium) (but my DPS went way down when I switched out the Rage of Uresauk for the Slimecraw helm (guise).

Actually, I was testing them by going out in the field and killing stuff and then looking at Combat Metrics. I still have to get a screenshot of that and post it, will do it when it isn't a weekend so I have more time.

You can't buy them with game gold? Hmmmm. I can't remember how I got them for the NA.

Only way seems to be via the Housing Editor for Crowns. And at 4000 each, that's a lot. There was a 10% off deal two years ago, so you might have got some then.

We have Thief and Lover, need to decide what's needed, and what's not.

I think you can buy Crown things with game gold on the Tamriel Crown Exchange place; but some things are restricted to buy like houses = not sure if Mundus Stones would be restricted or not. I might go check; I have them on my Discord. I have used them before; you have to take certain precautions but I didn't have any issues getting what I paid for. The exchange rate is like "Market Price," it changes with the in game economy.

If you can get them through the exchange; I will most def donate gold to it.

Otherwise; not sure if you can buy Crowns for another person or not, can you?

Also; The Atronach is a good one to get early if we are voting.

December meetings on Monday and Tuesday, assuming everyone isn't shopping.

EU needs to discuss Mundus Stones.

Jerric plans to attend both. Yay!

WOO HOO!!!

Okay, the current exchange rate is 1500:1. I still don't know if Mundus Stones are restricted or not.

Keep in mind that the 21 mil HP trial dummy gives you full buffs and debuffs. This is my sorcerer as of a couple days ago. When solo, pens not as important but for a trial you want cap(18200). I'm not crit capped either(125% is cap).

I run trials though so the stats are a bit more important.

If malx needs a weapons set I suggest order's wrath weapons and jewelry. If no one has plus or high isle, I can make them at my guild hall if we don't have it.

Also, how the heck do image embeds work here? Tried to embed imgur links, no go.

Also, what stone do you want? I can see if I can gift them. I'll be on a bit later.
Acadian
Wow, impressive!

I just posted in discord about mundus stones. I'll buy us one for a late Christmas present, crowns on sale and I bought a load.

Holy Cow!!!! Great Stats!!!! AND PILLAR OF NIRN SET!!!!!

*mALX drools in envy ...*

mALX wants Pillar, and I want Pillar (both servers, but more so on EU), so maybe we could consider a run or two at the January meetings in a week. If not then, we can organize one for another date, while eveyone's together.
Sakiri
My friend and I duo'd falkreath for Nirn, and when the dagger dropped in a random my friend paid the person it dropped for a million gold lmao.

I can help you with falkreath runs if I'm around. Think it's on Tuesdays? I have a raid in wow at 3 am my time(9pm eastern) so I'd have to jet then. I don't think I gave decent enough gear to do it EU side. I haven't really played her since Morrowind.

I def want it on the NA server!!! Thanks to last month's Guild Meet I got the Velothi Ur Amulet; so really can't wait to finish out Amiela's armor and hopefully bring up her abilities in combat (to counter my inabilities in combat, lol).

First meetings of 2025 are on Monday (EU) and Tuesday (NA) at 6:00 PM EST. Falkreath runs are possible, if the numbers are right, or we can at least plan them.

Event ends between them. EU gets the XP boost, NA does not.
Acadian
Buffy's planning on attending the NA one on Tuesday. smile.gif
Sakiri
I should be there for Tuesday but I have a raid in wow at 3 CET so I gotta jet then.
Acadian
Ahah, 3 CET = 3 hours after meeting start time if I did my figgerin' goodly. smile.gif

Buffy has to get back to her tree by 2 hours after start time. Else she turns into an acorn.
Burnt Sierra
And on EU we did a few runs of Falkreath for Pillar of Nirn gear and, finally, REMEMBERED TO TAKE A GROUP SHOT!

IPB Image

Jerric, Delandriel and the Iron Atronach wondering what on earth the other two are playing at...

IPB Image

A slightly more, erm, traditional shot.

But, we remembered! For once...
mALX

Er...what is my character doing to Ghastley's in the first shot? Hmmm???

Sakiri
She's erm, weighing her assets. I think.

Twenty past 6 in the morning here, so here's a group shot of the NA meet up, with a clever comment to adjoin it when I get some sleep and can think of one later:

ROFL!!!! That actually does look like what she is doing, lol.

Wonderful Guild Meets this month; thank you all so much for all the help getting the new armor!

Sakiri
Not a problem!

I am boggled that we had two full dungeon teams this month. Using NA and EU channels on Discord facilitated that, and a whole lot of dungeing got done in parallel. When the ranks thinned later, we merged back into one, and stayed up too late. kvright.gif

Lots of house tours, lots of sticker book filling, no wonder it took so long.

WAAAAAY too late, lol. My legs were like rubber trees trying to walk away from the computer afterward, lol. But I do have some nice shiny armor to wear now thanks to all of our Awesome Chorrolites on both servers!!! That was so kind of everyone!!!!

I certainly enjoyed our meet last night - it was the best meet I've ever had. I know others rely heavily on voice chat, however that has always left me out in the cold. Expecting someone to type and fight at the same time never seemed fair to me, either.

I appreciated having Grits along on the first couple of runs, but when we merged into one group, I appreciated Grits dropping out of the runs even more since that meant they were able to listen to the voice Discord and relay anything important to me without disrupting the run for my teammates. That worked really well.

Also thanks to mALX and to burnt for text chatting to me as well, making extra sure I got the pieces I really needed for that new build I'm eyeing for Maz. I'm happy that both mALX and I were able to get all the Pillars of Nirn pieces we both needed on NA - even right down to us both getting that last piece at the same time!
