QUOTE(mALX @ Jul 10 2018, 01:26 PM) *

By the way, did everyone notice "The Auger" (talking blue skull) in the courtyard at the Guild Hall at the last meet? I stuck him there right before the meet to give us something to play with, lol.

Elke has been chatting with the Auger every time she visits the Guild Hall. It’s awesome to have him (it?) there!

Tremendous progress on the jewelry stations! I am so impressed!!

There is a HUGE thanks to you, Monkey, and Acadian on our progress with those tables! You all just can't imagine how much you are appreciated! That, and right now the prices of the tables is extremely low, so I've been trying to get as many as possible before it goes up.

Having that Auger to talk to reminds me a bit of the Knights of the Nine in Oblivion. I kind of hated to have that questline end because the Knights would go back to their graves = I never visited that hall without stopping down in the tombs to talk to each of them. LOVED that Bethesda let us keep activating them down there. I modded a bed down there and used it instead of the room upstairs.

Aww sad.gif

Khajiit is at work right now but should be home in time to attend. Geez, this one hasn’t been to a Guild meet in a few months D:

Any planned activities?

It looks like we have the Midyear Mayhem and Orsinium events going on at the same time. blink.gif I'm still trying to work out how to take advantage of both at once. Do I send Blossom to Cyrodiil?

Should I bring Fugly Grunter from my son's game? rollinglaugh.gif (not her actual name, but a title she has earned).

Khajiit is at work right now but should be home in time to attend. Geez, this one hasn’t been to a Guild meet in a few months D:

WOO HOO!!! I hope you make it!

Buffy just got back from a fun guild meeting!

Shortly after our start time, we had a foursome. When no one else showed up we decided to do one of the day’s pledges (Banished Cells I normal group dungeon).

So with Eolan (Monkey) as tank, Buffy as healer, and Unna (ghastley) and Brenna (Khajiit) as dps, our intrepid band got the pledge and off we went. It turned out to be a very solid team and the run went very smoothly. Bosses went down fine and no one died.

Then it was back to the guild hall where we were joined by Misa (mALX).

After some dancing, it was then that the monkey business started!

Before we knew it there were five little monkeys hopping around the guild’s courtyard!

Thanks to those who showed up, and we missed those who couldn’t make it. tongue.gif

My timing was bad with the screen-shotting, and I caught the five monkeys only when they were back to four, plus Buffy. So I deleted them.

I took several screenshots of my latest Skyrim session with Fraps turned off. Not a lot of results there, either. Does anyone see a pattern? biggrin.gif

Nice to see you, haz, and hope you're able to return to both forum and game soon. goodjob.gif

For others, haz knew he would be scarce for a time so gave me permissions to do most of the functions he can do with our guild in the game. I recently asked him if he could also give those permissions to mALX so she could cover for me when I'm not there and just to have a bit of depth. Besides, she knows more about how guild stuff in game works than I do. So now, both of us can do basic in game functions with the guild site. smile.gif

Grats, mALX! It’s about time you got promoted - you’ve been our guild mom for so long. You deserve the recognition!

It’s great that we now have three officers - means that things can get done in game when they need to. And I join Acadian in hoping Hazmick comes back to ESO. I keep watching for his name to pop up in my chat!

We miss you, Haz!

Oh, Haz was just joking about it being a promotion = I was just going to fix the home page for Acadian; but when I asked him about it he fixed it himself so I didn't have to, lol. Same as Acadian, it is just someone doing administrative duties for Hazmick; who will always be our sole Leader!

I am not a fan of the (immersion-breaking) newly patched in giant red eye they added to the Camo Hunter skill a few weeks back; but I'm kind of torn on today's latest = giant writing across the screen on entering homes = I hate the immersion breaking, but it was very cool to enter Hunding House today and see "Chorrolite Guild" - even if it was in (immersion-breaking) big bright yellow writing across the screen, lol.

Do you have Essential Housing add-on? I believe that is the one responsible for the banner you get upon entering the house. I know the developer (he's in my guild) and he was talking about it with some other guildies in guild chat just the other day. Not sure if you can turn that off - I'll ask him. Acadian and I came to that conclusion (Essential Housing Tools) yesterday after hopping from house to house and he not able to see anything I was seeing, laugh.gif

But yes, I did love seeing "Chorrolite Guild" when I landed at Hunding House; so I wouldn't want to turn it off = but really wish the names we chose for our houses would appear in the larger print without the opaqueness and the name the game gave the house in the smaller print with the opaqueness (if the house was renamed; and whether the house was renamed or not, would prefer the Zenimax-chosen name to always be the smaller more opaque one).

So even if there is a way to turn it off, I wouldn't do it = but if the files for it are tweakable, I'd much prefer to see my given names to the houses rather than Bethesda's as the more prominent one. In fact, it would encourage me to name more of the houses, lol.

Speaking of Sleek Creek, if anyone has "Port to Friend's Houses" = I spent all night last night revamping my Sleek Creek House inside and out! I'd love it if anyone stopped by and saw it who might see something I missed (like floating carpets, etc. = I found two plants floating in the air above the balcony when I was remodeling it this morning that must have been there since I decorated it over a year ago, lol).

I've been meaning to try that add-on. Now would be a good time.

What I really want, however, is the inverse that lets a player designate which houses are "ready for visitors". Maybe I should start looking at how to create UI mods.

Regarding Essential Housing Tools, I just spoke to Cardinal, and he says it’s doable - so he’ll work on inverting the banner so our names show up top and the game name shows up below.

Just wanted to mention, if you go to a friend’s house, it’s going to show the game’s name of the house followed by the owner’s name. So if I went to our guild hall, I would see it as “Hunding’s Palatial Hall” followed by “owner: @mALX1” or something like that.

Just a heads up!

Since my son's account doesn't have any houses, I've been using it on his account = and gotten pretty spoiled by the ease of it. I favorited all my houses on his account so all of those characters can hop to any mine as if they were on his account too - VERY convenient for me playing on his account since it keeps/saves your favorites list so it is always there unless you purposely remove any.

You can already do that = set individual houses you don't want visitors at as "No Visitors;" (and any further houses you want not visited = change the association on them to the first house you set up as "No Visitors" to be sure it is no longer associated with any of your houses that allow visitors.

I've been planning to do that with some of my storage houses, too; but never got around to it, lol.

That would be Awesome if he would do that!

On visiting other member's houses: When I was hopping to Acadian's house yesterday trying to figure out why I could see the titles and he couldn't = the banner said "AcadianPaladin's Snugpod, Elden Root" for his house; but he never changed the name on his house so I don't know if it will show the changed name or not. The only other one I went to was SneakyBo's Guild Hall, and that hasn't been renamed either.

** Actually, you could find the answer to that by going to Hunding House and seeing if you see "Chorrolite Guild" when you land!

Haute, if you use Essential Housing Tools, can you tell me how to find some instructions on it? I was trying to use the "Snap To" feature last night, and have no clue how. I couldn't find any "Read Me" guide to learn how; only those vids on their web page where they go so quickly that I can't see what they are doing. None of them have a step-by-step (for dummies like me), lol.

If you are good at it and feel like doing it, could you write out some basic "how to use it" tips? I had one total hell of a time trying to hang signs on signposts last night, lol.

The standard option just lets you completely lock the door. I want an intermediate level of "visitors may need hard hats" for when it's under construction. And probably others, for example...

I use Moonmirth as a warehouse for furnishings I've made, but decided not to use, or replaced with something "better". I'd like that to be tagged as such, in case someone wants to see how big a piece is, for example, or make a trade.

Lol, I guess we'll find out if other people using add-ons can see what you have named something, then name them as "Warehouses" if we find out they can, lol.

If you want to limit the access, you would have to lock out all visitors until you wanted someone to come see something there; then unlock it while the visit is on/relock it afterward.

He may have a "Read Me" somewhere, and maybe I just didn't find it. The vids have no verbal instructions, just show them doing something but by watching it the viewer doesn't really know what they are doing unless they are also adept at using the add-on. (and if they were adept with it, they probably wouldn't be watching the vid). It would be nice if the vids said something like, "If you want to snap two items together, you click on (X) to select ... (etc.)

I bound the "Snap" function to a key, then selected the signpost (and it immediately moved the signpost into the center of the post it was abutting). I tried selecting the sign instead of the post and it moved the sign off about three feet up in the air.

I'm a really fast learner when someone gives me instructions; but I can't just figure things out on my own without possibly crashing my game, laugh.gif

I installed "Port To Friend" add-on and went for a look around Sleek Creek. The only thing I noticed was that you can't put a horse on uneven ground. With the front hooves on the hay pile, the rear ones float, but if you landed the rears, you'd have the fronts embedded in the hide on top of the hay. That is something ZOS needs to fix, not you.

My preference would be for some plain hay without the "bedding". I haven't found any, and forgot to check if those piles can be flipped over for a flat scatter effect.

already tried doing that with the hay beds - not very attractive - you have a hay lined hole . . .

I'm not surprised, but since a number of other items have a usable bottom surface, there was hope. I can't believe there isn't just a plain pile of hay. Why not?

I've begged for hay/straw piles for the stables since housing came out (and water in the horse troughs). They have both for the NPCs; but none for the players. I have used the "straw bed" (with the cloth on it) for bedding; and sunk the "Hay Cart" down into the ground for a hay mound for them to eat; but you are right about the uneven floor thing. You can position the horse on a slant when you put them into the stall, I guess (but I don't like to do that). In real life their feet would sink into the straw; but it wouldn't make them stuck in it like it does in this game, lol.

They can't be flipped over though; they are invisible from the other side. Like Haute said, all you get is a very small fringe.

It looks bad to see that tattered rag laying on top of the straw in the horse stall, but I figured it was better than no straw at all, (I guess) laugh.gif

Okay, moved the horses around so their back feet aren't floating! Thank you so much for letting me know that, I didn't notice it at all.

Does anyone have plans/hopes for the Friday meet?

With me not having Summerset, and monkey without ESO+ and so not all the DLC, I'm starting to think we need a list of "common ground" somewhere (stickied?) That's even without ZOS locking things behind quests some members might not have done.

The reason I ask, is I'm trying to decide which character to bring. Whether it should be one of the champion-level ones, or one who needs experience. And the usual tank/healer/dps choice for the impromptu team.

Buffy's nature is all about support. She has all content so no limitations on where she can go. Her only limitations are that she is not really interested in vet dungeons, trials or PvP.

She'll show up as a champion healer but is always willing to yield the healing role to another who might want it and change over to a dps with just an emergency burst heal for others.

Her fave thing with others is simply to tag along and support their objectives.

Speaking with a good friend of mine, who has a visual impairment, it seems I am not the only one with that problem. Is it possible to write a basic tutorial explaining what the different elements of the UI do and situations where you would want to use them? With screenshots?

Thanks!

@Hauteecole_Rider16 Hi Hautee! So, I think I may know what could help. In the Essential Housing Tools window, at the top-left, is an Information icon. If you click that icon, it will show a series of pop-up tips that explain what you're looking for... how to get started, the basics of selecting items, editing items, etc.

So, my suggestion, set up a keybind for Controls > Essential Housing Tools > Show Selection Window (I use F1, but you can choose whatever key you wish). Then, while in your house, enter Housing Editor mode (F5) and press your keybind (F1, if you choose that). The Essential Housing Tools window will open. Then, click that Information icon in the top-left and take a look at those tips (there's quite a few).

After seeing those, and how to select/edit items on the Select tab, you can then move on to the other tabs and click that same Information icon. You should see tips for whatever tab you are currently on. So if you want to learn how to animate things with Scenes, click on the Scenes tab and click the Information icon. (Just as an example)

If you still have questions after that though, you know where to find me! I'm always happy to help smile.gif

I will be looking at it shortly (just not tomorrow - it’s Maz’s second ESO anniversary!).

Oh, and it can take the place of PTF now . . .
In chat I just type /house [name of house] to go to one of my houses
/house [player’s name] [house name] will take me to my friend’s house; alternatively leaving the house name off will take me to her primary. For example, to go to our guild hall, I just type /house @mALX1 and it takes me to her Hunding’s
/home takes me to my primary

So I’ve disabled PTF, Furniture Grouper, and Inventory Insight (replaced by Cardinal’s DecoTrack)

This is AWESOME!!! Thank you so much for this! And also, not sure if you saw it; but I thanked you hugely for talking to Cardinal about the house names and he fixed it so it is so absolutely perfect! Now when you port to my house it says, "Chorrolite Guild" = it is gorgeous, and I hope all our sister guilds that use our facilities have that add-on so they can see that!

Recently one Guild Master that has several guilds was doing a remodel of his own guild hall and sent all his guilds to our guild hall to use while theirs was remade = that was a pretty huge honor that he felt highly enough of our guild hall to tell his members to use it! (at least I thought it was, he had several other options but chose ours!)

Guild meeting today. Buffy will be there and is happy to tag along on any adventures - once she gets some wine and dancing in.

Though we hope someone has a better idea, she'll be prepared to lead a group into Stonefalls to kill the three world bosses found in eastern Stonefalls, then back to our guild palace for a nightcap and maybe a swim. If that is the course we follow, it is a good opportunity to bring any character you'd like since (if not focused on healing), Buffy can solo each of the three bosses in question.

Again, if anyone else has any little adventure they'd like to lead, Buffy will be delighted to tag along. The plan I put out there is just in case no other ideas emerge.

Hope to see folks there! smile.gif

i may bring Cat Man Dhou, as he needs some more XP. He's an NB Tank, which means he kills slowly when I run him solo, and that slows down his levelling. Since we got his crafting up to 50's, it's time to get his overall level up there, too. World Bosses with a group should help a lot.
