I'll gladly trade a stack of Heartwood for a stack of Copper Dust, tbh. Non-grinders are starting that tier and it's hard to find Copper instead of Platinum sometimes. Doesn't have to be a full stack of Dust either lol

Since copper is only available to levels 26-49, it won't be coming in as fast as pewter (or even platinum), but we'll save it up. I got quite a bit today doing a general foraging run with a L30 character. Since heartwood drops at the same rate for all levels, I just thought she could use the exercise. Naturally, we now have more cotton and orichalcum than we could possibly use.

May have to trade half-stacks.

Well, I did say it didn't have to be a full stack of copper dust. The Squad's already at rank 26 of Jewelry Crafting, so they'll most likely be crafting with Silver tomorrow after I sort out the jewelry I got today. Still got 3 characters crafting in Copper and they'll most likely be there for a while, so I'll still have some use for it.

Anyways, I've been thinking about this for a while....how many of you actually have use for a Transmutation Station? I have quite a few vouchers saved up and I'm mostly using them for Jewelry Research Scrolls, so I was thinking of getting one for SSD (even though I'm reaching the furnishing limit). If not, I can always get a few attunable JC stations to help mALX out.

I think the criteria for a special stations at our guild hall is really frequency of use by members. I can see normal crafting stations for all of us. I can see mundus stones because, combined with the training dummies, the ready access to multiple ones lets you quickly check out the impact of various mundus stones on performance. I can see the value of attunable stations for those who do durable goods crafting writs (not me) or perhaps someone with a high level/high trait crafter who takes orders for custom armor sets.

Regarding transmute stations though, I really can't see it. The station in Clockwork City is super easy to get to (certainly by anyone who can earn transmute gems) and I can't imagine anyone using it routinely (given that transmute stones don't grow on trees and cannot be bought/traded.
TheCheshireKhajiit
Khajiit *could* see maybe having one around in case someone who doesn’t pay good attention sometimes puts the wrong trait on something or changes their mind about what trait to put on an item (Khajiit does both of these a lot, lol). Other than that though, this one agrees with Acadian.
monkeyemoness
Yeah, I figured as much. With the Crystal cap and how little one gets from geodes, I imagine transmutation is not something that's done often. And with the cost in vouchers, it's kind of a hard thing to justify getting because it's "a cool thing to have."

Actually, that one in Clockwork City is only available to either someone who has Plus membership or has bought the DLC.

For anyone going into dungeons frequently or doing Pledges who are building up a bunch of Transmute stones they need to get rid of (or they will end up losing new ones coming in) = that Transmute station being available (and handy) either at the Guild Hall or a member's house would be Awesome. I know Ghastley is needing it; and I don't dungeon crawl very much but have plenty of armor traits I'd like to change over for my Tank, Templar, and Nightblade. I'd also like to make a good PvP set.

I do plan to get the Transmute Station as soon as I get a lull in needing to buy tables, and actually did have enough vouchers to buy it until Summerset dropped with its new 3 sets and 44 jewelry stations. When it first dropped I was really torn between getting it or being able to get the entire crafting sets and several Jewelry stations = which is what I ended up doing.

Reminder, our monthly guild meeting is this Friday!

We hope that our newest member Kane can join us, so let me review some info on the meetings for his benefit. We hold these the first Friday of every month at 5:00 PM eastern US time. Location is our guild hall (mALX's primary residence.) To get there, just find mALX on your friends or Chorrol guild roster in game, right click on her name and select 'travel to primary residence'. MALX has visiting permissions set to blanket include all members of the guild.

We generally start off with some socializing in guild chat. To enter guild chat, simply type /g1 into your chat box and hit enter - that assumes Chorrol is the first guild in your list of guilds. If Chorrol is, say, the third guild on your list of guilds, you'd type /g3 instead.

Once we've had some wine and dancing, then we consider maybe a little guild run adventure. And we're very careful to never overtax younger characters in deciding what to do so don't worry about your combat skills.

Now, if anyone has ideas for a little fun run, toss em out there. tongue.gif

Perhaps we could go on a super duper delve romp through a Daggerfall Covenant territory? Khajiit imagines this would be most helpful to Kane (selfish ulterior motive: Brenna is homesick after spending so much time in the AD).
ghastley
Delves, World Bosses and Dolmens could net an overland set. Or more likely some pieces of three different ones. Grab a few skyshards along the way, too.

Khajiit, do you have a fave zone in the Daggerfall Covenant? Focusing on more than one could be too much for one session.

Glenumbra is Brenna’s favorite, but we also like the Alik’r, and Bangkorai with it’s varied terrain. Might be best to let Kane pick the zone. Of course, this is if Kane even plans on attending.

Considering he just started, he probably needs Glenumbra, at least.

This sounds fun, but I'll have to see what I can do! I work until 5 and then have to drive home so I might not make it for anything. I think we need to drop off the missus' vehicle at the dealer, too, so I might not be online until well after 7. sad.gif

Yeah, Rakaand is still poking around Glenumbra and learning the ins and out of the game. I plan on heading back to Hammerfell with him pretty soon, though.

Let me float an adventure idea that is simple and factors in some of the ideas being bantered around:

Glenumbra. If we go to the Aldcroft wayshrine and ride north a short distance is a dolmen within sight of a world boss (WB) called Wolf's Camp. I bet I'm not the only one hunting for jewelry to grind up and advance their jewelry crafting skill - and a dolmen drops a ring or necklace every time. Then in between dolmen spawns, there is the world boss which is a trio of bandits that turn into werewolves.

Close dolmen, kill world boss, wait for dolmen to respawn, wash rinse, repeat a few cycles. Plenty of loot, jewelry, fightin' as well as time to just chat some. This plan also lends itself to folks joining us late, leaving early etc.

If someone has a better plan and is willing to lead us, I'd be quite happy to tag along for something else though.

One of the other guilds I'm in gave it to me as payment for decorating their new guild hall for them = that ugly purple slab in Coldharbour, lol. I did their last two guild halls and the guildmaster's private homes, for them too.

I REALLY didn't want to do that Coldharbour one at all though; so they sweetened the pot by offering me the Transmute station as a bribe, lol. It worked.

But yeah, it is the equivalent of 5 jewelry crafting stations! Really nice payment for the job! Haute will be able to see it, she is a member of that guild too.

Same here. It wasn't inspiring at all, and the Guildmaster did NOT want to see ugly black spikes either. I hid what I could of them, but still, that purple starkness up there...if I could have painted the sky blue, it would have been a lot easier to be inspired by it, lol.

I think some of the white columns and stuff would’ve been neat up there. Maybe some stone Imperial decorum. Khajiit would be interested in seeing some of what you did if you care to take some screenies next time you are up there.

Silly question, but why did they want the place if its only features needed to be hidden? I'd have thought that once you've hidden all the black spikes, it could be anywhere. Was it just the large blank floor they wanted?

Exactly. This guild had the Daggerfall mansion first, it was too small for all the tables (like the struggle we are having with Hunding House now). So (after a ton of decorating that place) = they ended up moving to Topal Bay. I decorated it like our Khajiit Village on the waterfront at Hunding House, with a Tiki bar and a huge dueling arena. But they were one of the guilds who had trouble with the tables not rendering properly; they had lots of complaints. I thought it was because at Topal Bay = every single item renders in the same cell, and the place where you land in that cell is right in the middle of everything so your PC or game takes a hit trying to render it all.

Another Guild I'm in was having the same problems, and moved their Guild Hall to Hakkvild's High Hall thinking the tables would have time to render with the long walk through the cell before reaching them; but had the same issue there; because everything was outside = that is a LOT of items to render on landing in the cell.

So THAT guild bought the Coldharbour slab and built a platform off the ground to put the tables on = same thing happened. But they discovered when they put the tables flat on the ground that everything rendered just fine. That cell is 700 slots, and it really has nothing else to render but what you put in it; no buildings or anything - but for some reason = having the tables off the ground made them not render properly.

So all the guilds got together to discuss the problem a few weeks ago; that is when I asked you all if you ever had trouble with the tables not working properly.

*We actually did have issues when I had that Vvardenfell scale model outside, it didn't used to render for almost a full minute when it sat at the landing spot for people to enter the cell. But for some reason, even that scale model renders just fine in that interior; and all those tables, too. So = so far we are safe with our Guild Hall, but (now that we are adding all those jewelry stations) - if anyone starts having trouble activating tables = let me know, please.

I think the reason we haven't had a problem is because the majority of our tables are in an interior cell that must render separately from the exterior cell; and what we have outside isn't enough to overwhelm the rendering of the cell.

Anyway, the other guilds decided to all buy that Coldharbour slab for their guild halls because it had that huge flat surface to hold the 190 (176 tables, 13 Mundus stones, and the Transmute Station). But no one in the guilds liked the look of the place after the beauty of Topal Bay, so they asked me to come make it look less like Molag Bal's realm. I didn't want to at all, so they bribed me with that Transmute station, laugh.gif

Anyway, here is some shots of the place for Khajiit:

It wasn't easy to get inspired for decorating anything but a Daedric Halloween Haunt there, lol. Yeah, it is less depressing - but I wish there was a way to remove the purple filter or shader for the sky in that cell like the Devs did for Hollow City. I wonder since it is instanced if that would be on our hard drive?

I believe all the textures etc. are on our own machines, but the game will validate checksums to ensure the content isn't changed. They don't want anyone, for example, making items bright pink to make them easier to find. You could get your account banned for changing stuff, as they'll assume cheating, so don't try.

That may or may not include DirectX post-processing/hooking. which is how some texture-replacing mods work for other games. ENBSeries (I think) did that for Skyrim to add extra shaders.

Aww, sorry you missed it, Khajiit.

The summary is we got Buffy, Jo'zira, Unna, Jerric and Britta together at the guild hall and marveled at the beautiful new transmute station down by the beach.

Then we headed for a dolmen in Glenumbra that was conveniently next to a world boss. We then proceeded to cycle between the two for I guess about 6 or 7 cycles collecting tons of loot and quite a load of jewelry. It was great fun and, I expect helped those (like Buffy) who are building up their jewelry crafting skill by providing lots to deconstruct.

Thanks to those who made it and we missed those who could not. smile.gif

I agree with you on that. I did love the dark beauty of Coldharbour (used to really love the Oblivion worlds from that game too) - but that slab was so stark and had none of the atmosphere. One of the greatest things about it is that you can stand on the edge and look down and see some of those great Coldharbour towns below you. Unfortunately, you can't climb down to it even with those rocks turned upside down and hopping down, because at a certain point below it you instantly die as you leap down. (and yes, I tried...repeatedly).

By the way, did everyone notice "The Auger" (talking blue skull) in the courtyard at the Guild Hall at the last meet? I stuck him there right before the meet to give us something to play with, lol.

I saw it, but didn't know one could interact with it.

He speaks, and I am pretty sure he says different things if you keep activating him. Last night I went to Haute's house and she had a fan that turns the player into a monkey = It was a riot!!! I HAVE to get that one!!!

monkeyemoness
I noticed him when I popped in there for the banker. Apparently his dialogue is the same whether or not that particular character did the questline. :v

Elke has been chatting with the Auger every time she visits the Guild Hall. It’s awesome to have him (it?) there!

Tremendous progress on the jewelry stations! I am so impressed!!
