I love Persephone’s new look! Too bad the hat is so poufy. It’s the perfect color. The new hood looks great. I like the detail.

Persephone looks beautiful in the nights shots. How funny to see those boys beside neutral Foresworn. There’s one stronghold that becomes friendly after that mine quest, but I don’t remember what conditions have to be met. I should think that killing their King In Rags would not be one of them. ohmy.gif

Daryl looks like he’s going to rip the smaller guy in half! Love it. Showdown looks so neat!

My favorite is Sleazy Little Man. I expect Belethor gets the stare from a lot of folks, but Persephone’s is extra cold. tongue.gif

What a great location for her lair. The view is gorgeous and the freezing wind won’t bother her a bit.

I love the pics with Aventus! Kid’s going to need to change his shorts when he turns around.

That cape looks great with Persephone’s outfit! Very nice. smile.gif
King Coin
laugh.gif GIVE IT TO ME NOW

A question about her lair, do the decks connect?

Don’t look now is a cool scene. ohmy.gif She has a presence standing there in her white armor.
SubRosa
Acadian: There were lots of cats that day I was playing. It seemed like Persephone kept running into that same caravan wherever she went.

I really do like how the whole outfit of hood and cloak came together with the armor. As usual, I spent hours downloading mods, tweaking them, and making my own before they came together. I even stopped using her old sword and went with a Steel one, just because it fits the rest of her outfit best.

I was thinking about making a new lair for P9 in one of the old tombs, or making a new small tomb, but it does not fit the person she has become. She is spending more and more time around people, acting more like a person to fit in, and remembering more and more of what it was like to be alive. So she went the route of making a living person's lair.

ghastley: The Pale is just perfect for a pale complected Living Dead Girl like P9. So once I decided to go with an HF house, I never even considered the other two locations.

The decks do wrap all the way around. She does not need the extra beds, even with just her Sophie and Lucia. But she would not need the other addons either. So in the end I went with the wrap around deck, just because none of my characters have never done it before.

Grits: I went looking for mods that add berets to Skyrim after seeing Persephone in the chef's hat. I think she would look great in one. Plus I could listen to this song whenever I played her. But sadly I had no luck.

Those Forsworn were not in one of their redoubts. They were just out in the wilderness, somewhere south of Dushnikh Yal. I have seen them there before, so they must be a regular encounter, not a random wilderness event, like the two kids. I am not sure what made the Forsworn friendly. But P9 does have a Speech skill over a hundred now with her buffs (her hood gives her a +25 to Persuasion).

Darryl is the original IP Man. laugh.gif

Poor Aventus, imagine turning around and seeing that staring at you from the shadows! ohmy.gif

I am so glad I started playing Persephone again. She is much different this time around. She has really grown as a person. As I said to Acadian, the more she is around the living, and goes through the motions of being alive to fit in, the more she remembers what it was like to be alive, and to be a person. Thanks to the cape and the hood, she feels like a superhero. Especially given that now she has destroyed the Dark Brotherhood, rescued the prisoners from the Thalmor in Northwatch Keep, and even paid a visit to the Thalmor Embassy and went all Pelinal Whitestrake on them. Even the Vigilants of Stendarr stopped attacking her. (In reality because I turned off the .esp to play another character and forgot to turn it back on when I went back to Persephone) But I like to pretend that they finally realized that even though she is undead, she is one of the good guys. Plus they won't have any Vigilants left if they keep attacking her... wink.gif

King Coin: I love that little video! laugh.gif The decks do all connect, so you can completely walk around the outside on them. I should have made this one for D'Eon, because whenever I look at it, I think it would be great for a party.

I loved Don't Look Now Kid. I worked for a while to get that one just right. Persephone is one of my creepier characters, probably only behind Revansch when it comes to the scary factor.

Those Forsworn were not in one of their redoubts. They were just out in the wilderness, somewhere south of Dushnikh Yal. I have seen them there before, so they must be a regular encounter, not a random wilderness event, like the two kids.

There's an encounter zone just there at the bottom of the entrance to Arkngthamtz, and I met a bunch of forsworn battling a group of Orc bandits on the way in, and then a Thalmor assassination team on the way out. We were close enough for a couple of cave bears to come and investigate the commotion, too. Since I was playing with Amazing Follower Tweaks in that game (allows five followers), and had the whole Tamriel Topless Team following me (so no pictures tongue.gif ), it got very confused.

It looks to me like the encounter is set up for one or two groups to arrive there at once, and they'll fight if they don't like each other. In your case, it was Forsworn, and the kids, and no violence. I was unlucky twice. I haven't looked at the aliases in the setup to see what groups are possible, but I think Forsworn are much more likely as a choice in that area.
King Coin
I love that log bridge! It goes right over this enormous waterfall. You have to be very careful with followers though!

I have not seen that horseman in quite some time.

Wish Aravi could take the Brotherhood. It involves killing that woman though, and even though she’s horrible, Aravi isn’t going to murder someone in the city.

Sneaking with a great sword doesn’t seem to be the best way to go! laugh.gif They do have some cool killing animations though.

Who the heck keeps a pet spider?! ohmy.gif

Nice end to the DB!
Acadian
Matrix – Whizzing bullets arrows can’t touch me!

A headless horseman! How cool! That shot also showcases how nicely P9’s hood/cape combo complement her armor.

Vid: Skyrim did a nice job with the ritual to enter the DB sanctuary – comfortably familiar (from OB) but different. That first fight was a neat one that showcased 2H vs 2H. Spiderwoman wasn’t so confident after P9 whacked her spider and called up Daryl to help. Loves 2H great swords and Daryl can use his one handed!

It's nice how P9 is kind of 'growing' to fit in to the world of the living. I like the idea that her ancient memories are finding purchase with exposure to the living.
Grits
Nice work at the DB sanctuary! Arnbjorn didn’t even touch her! It was neat to see Daryl in action.

I love that spot on the log bridge. Persephone jumping over the arrows! biggrin.gif

How fun to see the Headless Horseman in daylight and not galloping. Persephone, a ghost, and Daryl would make a nice undead trio.
SubRosa
King Coin: That log bridge is one of my favorite places in the game. I always look for King Kong whenever I am there! laugh.gif

That is the first time I have seen the Headless Horsemen in ages. It is the first time I have ever seen him in daylight too. He was just sitting there when Persephone went to that graveyard.

Sneaking doesn't get you any bonuses with a greatsword. But it is still nice sneak in to get a look at things before deciding how to tackle a room.

I was wondering who keeps a frostbitespider pet too! I guess an assassin is the answer! biggrin.gif

Acadian: Actually, quite a few arrows did touch her while I was taking screenshots of that scene! laugh.gif

P9's hood and cape really make the new version of her come alive, so to speak.

I thought that DB door would be familiar to you. There is not bony skeletal guard inside though. Maybe they could have used one. By now P9 is about level 47, and there is not much that can stop her.

Grits: That was a great duel with the first two-handed guy in the DB Sanctuary. Everything just came together. Fights like that, where you can control the distance and keep the initiative, are what I love about two-handed weapons.

It is too bad you cannot make the Horseman a follower! I actually did check out some ghostly horse mods. But I think Persephone is just going to hold out for Avrak.

Posing In Front Of The Mountains

Persephone and the Vigilant

Having a hood-to-hood chat

I have also been tinkering with a new character - Asherah

Asherah is an Ayleid, and wears her mother's armor

Mom of course being Astarte
Acadian
P-9 the poseur is a fabulous shot! happy.gif

In Vigilant, I like what looks like partial mammoth head trophies (?) on the wall.

Hood chatting! I’ve never played Skyrim, but even I can recognize Serana behind that dark hood.

Asherah the Arimer Aylied! I love that she has the same taste in armor as her mom. Now. . . if we can just coax her a bit away from the cliffracer and more toward her mom’s taste in coif. Okay, just teasin’ ya! tongue.gif
Grits
I love the posing one! The subtle colors are just beautiful.

The Vigilant has a lot to think about when meeting Persephone. Fight undead with undead! tongue.gif

Hoods looks very neat. I love the dark and light contrast.

Wow, Asherah definitely does not look like a local! Her armor still looks great, no matter how far north she wanders. I like how her hairstyle (but still pink) makes her different from mom! laugh.gif
SubRosa
Acadian: That one sword polishing pose is always guaranteed to get a good picture for every character.

Those are mammoth heads on the walls in the Vigilant pic. I believe they are added by Fort Dawnguard Improvements, which spiffs up the vampire hunter base quite a bit.

I think everyone knows who Serana is by now!

Grits: "At least this one doesn't suck blood..." Is probably what Tolan was thinking. laugh.gif

I liked the dark colors of Serana vs. the grey of Persephone, turned bright white given the arctic sea background.

You called it on Asherah's choice of hairdos! She is a teenager, so she has to be a rebel after all... It was supposed to be lavender in color though. Creating new colors in Skyrim is like Forrest Gump's box of chocolates. In spite of how it may look like in the CK, you never know what you will get in the game itself.

Asherah knows how to deal with hostile mages.

But she still prefers the personal touch

Asherah's weight loss program

I used TFC to sneak a peek into the boss room of Avanchenzl. The two extra Dwemer Mecha are from the broken cimematic that never runs, and disappear as soon as you actually walk into view of them.

Here they come!
Acadian
Great shots, all. I love how screenshots 2, 3 and 5 really show off the detail of Asherah’s armor – especially #2 (Personal Touch). Wow.

Home of the Transdwemer space ball automatons!

Nice to see those colorful Viking shields again.
ghastley
QUOTE(SubRosa @ Feb 10 2014, 09:49 PM) *

I've found those two "alive" but immobile and invincible with a couple of characters. It's a real pain if you have a follower as he/she will attack them endlessly and it's hard to persuade him/her to give up and follow you out.

I've also found Breya alive, and watching apparently in complete boredom, as I've battled the one centurion. She couldn't be spoken to, and didn't appear to affect anything. This quest does seem buggy!
King Coin
That vigilant isn’t being very vigilant! biggrin.gif

Hood to hood is very neat. White and black.

Asherah is looking cool in her fancy armor. The hair style makes her look a bit more reckless than her mother.

Love the wards! They always look pretty when you take a screen of them.

Personal touch is fantastic with the pose. Nice cape too.

Wow, there’s supposed to be 3 centurions there? ohmy.gif
ghastley
@King Coin: There are four centurions. One is already "dead", and there's a dead body of Breya, and the one that survived that battle is the one you fight.

In addition, there's a complete set of ghost versions for the cut-scene that was cut. So two more (ghost) centurions, and another (ghost) Breya.

In my case the dead Breya wasn't dead. I don't think I've ever seen two of her, live or not. The dead centurion remains dead (like Generalissimo Franco!)
Grits
Woo, Hostile Mages is my favorite! What a great shot!

Like Acadian said, I love the detail in Personal Touch. That sword looks awesome with her armor.

Goodness, that ghost struck the perfect pose! Like he can’t believe he got a sword through the spectral gut.

It’s been ages since I went into Avanchenzel. I wonder if anyone has fixed the cinematic. I’m guessing it’s Breya’s death scene?

Oh my gosh, skellie swarm! That’s a fun shot. I’m sure Asherah sent bones flying all over the snow! biggrin.gif

SubRosa
Acadian: The quality of detail in the mail links is really something. I am guessing the person who made it used a picture of RL mail armor to make the texture from.

I love that red and white viking shield too. That is one of my favorites from the Matherian shield mod.

ghastley: I remember you commenting on your weirdness in Avanchenzl. That is what prompted me to use tfc from far away and go look in the final room, without triggering anything.

King Coin: Asherah is a bit more reckless, and free-spirited, than dear old mom. She is a teenager after all! laugh.gif

I liked that cape. It is the Pearl Cloak from the Velvet Cloaks mod. But it seems to cause a major FPS hit for me. Or maybe it is the 360 Walk mod I was using with it to keep the feet from going through cloak. So I stopped using it.

Grits: I love using wards, and taking pics of them.

I hunted for that sword. It is from the Real Silver Swords mod.

I love that surprised look down from that ghost with the sword running through him.

I wish someone would fix that final scene in Avanchnzel, since obviously Bethesda is not going to do it. sad.gif But if they have, I do not know about it.

I love Skellies. They are such fun to fight. And in Skyrim they have those nifty shields thanks to my Matherian Shield Lite Mod.

Acadian
Purse-phone’s coloring really fits there between the snow and rocks.

Nice to see the Arimer Queen Astarte again!

Yeah, those pesky archers. . . whistling.gif

So you rolled a new OB toon to beat the game with! Welcome Devana. That guy with her looks ever so much like our pal Jean-Luc. The last picture almost has a ‘steel kimono’ flavor, enhanced by the flowering tree behind her. happy.gif
King Coin
I think Aravi and Lildereth were just at that same place in the first picture.

Ahh, fond memories of Oblivion. I may just have to accept that Aravi will look funny again and play some Oblivion soon.

Good thing the arrow hit something solid!

He looks like my favorite captain in that one! biggrin.gif

Her armor looks like it fits in the realm of Oblivion.
Grits
Persephone doesn’t need snow camo. Her outfit blends well in a lot of places.

Yay, Astarte! I’ve always thought she is so beautiful. She looks very pensive sitting there with her really big sword.

Lol, the archer shot is awesome.

It’s Captain Picard! How did that happen?! laugh.gif

Ooo, a blasted archer! She looks interesting. I like her dark eyebrows. It seems an odd thing I know, but there it is! tongue.gif
SubRosa
ghastley: Good thing those knees are intact! She doesn't want to join Hitler in the city guard!

Acadian: P9 is one of my snowy characters. She fits in with the arctic areas so well, because of her appearance, and of course because the cold does not bother her!

It is so nice to have brilliant trees again! The landscapes in Oblivion are so much more picture-worthy all on their own than in Skyrim.

King Coin: The first pic with Persephone was at the top of Volskygge, where a Dragon Priest is lurking in that stone coffin.

The Khajiit do look a lot less... good in Oblivion than they do in Skyrim. But there are mods out there to tweak their appearance. Or maybe you could play another character! ohmy.gif laugh.gif

Come to think of it, Jean-Luc probably is my favorite Captain of them all too. Though I do have to admit I liked Will Shatner's Kirk in the original series. He was a lot more serious and focused there than he was in the films in the 80s.

Grits: That is one of Astarte's happiest looking moments as well! I think she is in competition with Princess Grumpy to see who can scowl the most... wink.gif

Captain Picard comes from this mod, as does Sean Bean as Martin. I found it a long time ago and could not resist. Now the faces match the voices.

Even the wayshrines cannot contend with nature

City Isle Sunset

This is not what Devana thought being someone's dream girl entailed!

Relaxing in her new home in Cadlew Chapel

Saying hello to the locals on the way south.

King Coin
Sunset is my favorite one. Beautiful sky and nice pose.

Ahem, dream girls are never naked…. whistling.gif

I think I remember your house mod. That was the chapel that was destroyed, correct?
Acadian
I love how the tree and shrine have blessed each other!

Nice sunset by the Imperial Isle. Is that Nico’s Dreadweave bow I spy on Devana’s back?

What’s the story with Dreamgirl? Is that by chance Henantier’s dreamworld?

Oh, I remember when you so thoughtfully purged and repaired Cadlew Chapel – It still looks great, as does Devana relaxing there.

Aww, just a simple girl and an encounter with a four footed friend. happy.gif

SubRosa
King Coin: I have always loved the sunsets in Oblivion. It is still my favorite for when it comes to just looking at the scenery.

That was Cadlew Chapel, which normally hosts some necromancers and their smelly servants.

Acadian: I had not really thought of it that the tree and shrine blessed one another! I love the idea!

That is Nico's bow you spy indeed. It seems to go nicely with the red and black silverlight armor.

Dreamgirl is indeed form Henantier's Dreamworld. It has been a loooong time since I did that quest. It was a lot of fun.

Devana found a big surprise in a little Ayleid ruin in Blackwood (added by Unique Landscapes)

Devana tried on a new set of armor.

Finding a friendly face in a necro dungeon

Reach for the sky

Larry, Curly, and Devana?

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water

On the lookout for adventure
Acadian
Yikes! I guess Devana will have the king crab special?

The new armor looks very neat. Kind of the color/aura of mithril, the detail of elven and the fit of ebony. Very nice.

Love those orc adventurers! They’re usually no problem in most dungeons, but in vampire or marauder dungeons they sort of blend in with the indigenous foes and when you’re a sniper. . . well let’s just say that a couple have accidently fallen victim to shoot first, ask questions later in our game. embarrased.gif

Reach for the sky – bow in one hand and a spell in the other. It just doesn’t get any better than that!

How funny! Three amigos outside the SI! Nice to see our friend Gaius Prentus on duty. As for the Khajiit, you can't see her. No one can see her. wink.gif

Yikes again! Slaughterfish! How does Devana deal with them? An absorb health spell like Buffy or Aela might use?

On the lookout - a great panorama of the mid-Niben near Bravil. Wonderful area.

Oh, is Devana a Breton? Or perhaps an Imperial?
King Coin
Oh my. That is a big mubcrab. I would probably delete that if I ever installed that mod. It was fun as an easter egg in one of the caves.

What a pretty set of armor! I like the red and black one better though.

I liked those wells, even though I nearly never used them. They were helpful for Atronachs.

That poor Khajiit looks terrified! rollinglaugh.gif

That is NOT want I want to see when I swim! ohmy.gif

That last one is beautiful! happy.gif
SubRosa
Acadian: Devana was definitely feeling a bit crabby after that encounter...

Devana might have shot that Orc Adventurer too, but he actually ran over to attack a necromancer, and she saw the silhouette of his battle-axe.

Those Khajiit like to sneak. No one can see them! laugh.gif

Devana uses a Touch range Fire spell for those pesky critters that get inside the range of her bow. In the case of underwater, I figure it boils critters.

Devana is a High Elf of course, a member of the master race! biggrin.gif

King Coin: That mudcrab was a lot of fun. I was so not expecting to see that when I stepped into the middle of that ruin! It was a very fun chase around the entire place (with Devana being chased of course!). Unlike the giant mudcrab in the vanilla game, this one had a ton of health. It took a lot of steam to put it down.

That Khajiit is invisible, you can't see her. No one can see her! laugh.gif

Since I was forced to by Rihane, Mirocou, and Renee, I rolled a new toon for Fallout New Vegas.

Lonesome Dove is settin' on the porch for a spell

Settin' on the porch in FONV, waitin' fer a spell is probably not gonna work. No matter how long she sets there, I don't think she's gonna learn any spells. tongue.gif

Is that Amelion’s armor? It looks very pretty.

A nice encounter with a handsome orc. Devana’s hair looks gorgeous in that picture! She looks great in leather.

What’s going on in Reach? Is she recharging her stuff from the well?

The look on that Khajiit’s face would be enough to make me walk away. That picture really captures the scene outside the mysterious door!

Big slaughterfish, big dinner. It’s the seafood tour of Cyrodiil!

Lookout is so pretty! That one’s my favorite.

New Toon: Lonesome Dove is adorable! I love her coat! And ponytail! And her big gun. smile.gif
King Coin
Lonesome Dove is going to need that big rifle if she’s planning on venturing past that sign. That was a lot of fun, but tense area to go through. I loaded up on a lot of specialty ammo when I did that.
SubRosa
Acadian: You are right, so far Devana has not learned any new spells! But she has got some learned her up some of the finer points of cooking Red River Stew, Mojave Chili, and Scrambled Cazador Eggs.

There you go, Buffy would fit into the Fallout world nicely.

Grits: That is Brusef Amelion's armor indeed. Devana covered every inch of Blackwood, and the Amelion Tomb was one of the first places she explored. The armor is in there and usable even if you do not do the Fighters Guild quest associated with it.

I liked how the leather looked on her too, one reason she switched away from the red and black Silverlight armor for a while. I have always loved how the leather in Oblivion looked.

Devana was originally using the well in Reach, but I missed the picture. So I did it again, only this time with her using her Recharge spell. It still looks pretty much the same.

Lonesome Dove is my first character in either FO3 games to wear that bounty hunter duster, or use that hairstyle. Or use that rifle in fact!

King Coin: Dove did eventually go past that sign. She used up over 60 rounds of Armor Piercing ammo, and that was just in the quarry! She used up even more on the road after it. I counted 11 Deathclaws on the road alone! ohmy.gif

I simply love Dove’s look – blond hair, sun hat, shades, .50 cal sniper rifle. wub.gif

Those totem things in the Forbidden Zone look pretty . . . forbidding.

What a fabulous screenie of her big gun, and thanks for the little vid showing it in action. Having been next to one of our snipers when he punctuated the quiet night with a shot, the smoke, flame and noise from those weapons is unforgettable.
SubRosa
Grits: That is one big gun! The last time I saw the RL Hecate II was in Gunslinger Girl, an excellent anime.

Acadian: See, the Fallout games are perfect places for blond snipers...

As always, I worked with about a dozen outfits and thirty or forty hats before finding the right combination to get Dove's look right. Not to mention her shooting glasses.

Dove sets for a spell and enjoys the cinema

I had an idea for an FO3 character that I tried out for the last two days. Oda Hidetaka is a samurai from Japan's Sengoku period. He is one of Oda Nobunaga's sons, who was also called Oichi "the land's greatest beauty". In my game, Hidetaka is actually one of Nobunaga's daughters, pretending to be male in order to become a samurai. The world thinks Hidetaka died in 'his' teens. But in actuality 'he' was kidnapped by the aliens of Mothership Zeta.

Hidetaka sneaks above the Earth

Love the shot of Dove at the movies!

Welcome, Hidetaka! Another character with the flexibility to check that pesky gender box anyway they want. tongue.gif

Woot, Lost in Space aboard the Enterprise! Wow, Mothership Zeta really does look like the Starship Enterprise. Is all that space stuff part of FO3? Too bad our samurai couldn’t salvage a light sabre from that spaceship. How much of a challenge will it be for her with no ranged attack? Or does she have some sort of ranged attack?

Down to earth is a really good shot - she looks perfect for her role.
King Coin
I never much got into melee weapons in Fallout. It always seemed silly to use that when guns were available, even though they often are better than guns.

Ahh the Fiends. My favorite bandit group to kill. biggrin.gif

Those figures are really creepy.

I always assumed it was a barret. Why the heck would a bunch of French guns be in the desert of the US? huh.gif It’s 30lbs! ohmy.gif

I never got to play Mother Ship Zeta but I’ve had a couple of alien ships crash near me! Love the look of the samurai in this.

Oh my gosh, I would play the game just to get that coffee table. biggrin.gif

Neat, I had no idea there was space ship stuff in the game. I spent most of my short career looking for the door. embarrased.gif

QUOTE
"Set Photons to Kuso Kurae"

rollinglaugh.gif Indeed.

What an awesome explosion! I love the displaced samurai character idea. And of course s/he perfectly looks the part!

SubRosa
Acadian: Hidetaka was largely inspired by The Great Queen Seondeok, which I have been watching for a while. In it the protagonist joins the Hwarang disguised as a man. Some of the reactions by people who finally found out she was female were hilarious. "I always thought he looked kind of pretty, but there are prettier men than that in the Hwarang!"

That dish of the Mothership made me think of the front end of the Enterprise too. Though if you met the crew, you wouldn't have any trouble telling the two apart! laugh.gif Mothership Zeta is one of the DLC. OTOH, the vanilla game only has two alien things in it. One is Recon Craft Theta, the other is the Unidentified Flying Debris random wilderness encounter. Or the Firelance Event as most people call it. You hear an explosion, and a rather uber alien pistol falls somewhere to the ground near you, along with a bunch of power cells. So far it has only happened to me twice in years of on and off playing. So for the most part the alien stuff is easy to miss.

King Coin: I like using melee or unarmed weapons in Fallout because it is more of a challenge. You have to think about what you are doing, and find ways to close the distance between you and your enemies without getting shot to ribbons first. So there is a lot of sneaking, using cover, being patient, and luring people into coming to you. It is a lot harder to sneak in FO3 than in the ES games too!

VATS is also really impressive in melee. You always seem to have a 95% chance to hit, even if your skill is lower. VATS will also teleport you next to your target, if you are close enough to get a chance to hit. Usually you have to be within five to ten feet to get a VATS lock. It will even put you up on a walkway or second story, even if you were underneath it before. Finally, almost all hits seem to be headshots, unless you are sneaking (which is usually an arm dismemberment).

Maybe the French guns came with a shipment of escargot? laugh.gif One of the differences I noticed between FO3 and FONV is that for many of the guns in FO3 are original designs. While all the ones in FONV tend to be copies of Real World guns with different names. Like the NCR Service Rifle, which is just an M-16 stuck on single fire. So I am sure the FONV team just picked a real world gun whose appearance they liked and said "copy that one!"

Grits: I love the 'nice' furniture in a lot of the Fallout games. Though finding any that still look that good is difficult!

For the most part I have always ignored the alien stuff in FO3. It feels weird to be mixing post-apocalypse and alien invasion genres. But in this one case it gave me the perfect way for me to bring a 16th Century samurai seven hundred years forward in time. Not to mention a way to explain why Sam-the-Urai can understand what everyone is saying (translator microbes!).

A leftover pic from the Mothership. Hidetaka gets Medieval Futuristic on those alien kounos

Welcome to Rivet City
Acadian
Good thing Hidie didn’t encounter any of those Dwemer Space Balls up aboard Zeta. Okay, I’m easily confused. . . now you know why I only play one game at a time. embarrased.gif

That samurai armor would fit well in Oblivion. goodjob.gif

Oh wow, she looks absolutely gorgeous without her helm on in that shot of her sitting and relaxing near Mr Jefferson. wub.gif

Rivets is a neat depiction of the Washington Navy Yard. salute.gif
Grits
I love the Jefferson Memorial one best. Hidetaka looks like she’s wondering what’s next for her. These are great fun to look at, even though the game is still mostly a mystery to me.

I like the raider’s outfit! I can see carrying a baseball bat with that. Possibly not very far, though. laugh.gif
King Coin
Tell her to use that missile launcher with caution inside of that ship!

Her samurai armor looks awesome. What does she think of that computer strapped to her arm though?

I like the relaxing one. I assume there aren’t any ‘lurkers in the water!

Acadian: The samurai armor would be great in Oblivion. There might be some mods out for it. Maybe we will be seeing Buffy trying one on soon? wink.gif

That Jefferson Memorial is my favorite pic of all of hers too. The sun was setting and saw how the water had turned purple, and I knew I had to get a picture there.

Trust you to recognize the Washington Navy Yard! That aircraft carrier is now a city - called Rivet City. It is one of the neater ideas I have seen in the Fallout Universe.

Grits: You should fire up FO3 again. It is a lot of fun, has a good sense of humor, and is similar in many ways to the ES games (it is made by the same people after all. In fact, after you play FO3 a bit, you will notice where a lot of things in Skyrim came from.

The Raider and Merc outfits in this game are great. They consist of all sorts of things thrown together ad hoc, like tire treads and welding helmets. Funny you should mention a baseball bat though. That is one of the best starting game melee weapons!

King Coin: Thanks to lessons from Moira from Craterside Supply, Hidetaka has figured out how to use that funny metal thing on her arm. Not to mention use the glowing scrolls she finds in some buildings. It is almost as useful as the plasma arquebus she has!

There weren't any mirelurks in the water there anymore! Hidetaka goes through them with no sweat. Usually two hits kills even the big ones.

Hidetaka temporarily teamed up with these Brotherhood of Steel fellas to clear out the Library.

Hidetaka now has a pair of Lucky Shades (they really do give a +1 to Luck)

Close quarters with a Deathclaw!

Now she has a Deathclaw Gauntlet

Screens –

Do the FO3 followers tend to be as suicidally enthusiastic as their Cyrodiilic counterparts?

Looks like she needs those sunnies outdoors.

Woot! Fighting a Daedroth – and she got his hand and claws!

Vid – It was fun to ride along with Hidey the Horned Heroine. Very neat that the journal log entries she found were electronic audio clips - and it makes sense.
King Coin
biggrin.gif I love the power armor the BoS have!

A deathclaw that close is waaaay too close! ohmy.gif

Ah, I remember that pile of recordings. This leads to an armory I believe! Those kill moves were pretty impressive. I kind of forgot how creepy those buildings can be. I loved the mine use. I always set up little traps like that when I played. Grenades are pretty fun to use too. Yikes! I think we will meet Jesse somewhere, and he isn’t going to be friendly!

Acadian: FO3 followers - especially the unofficial ones who just tag along like Farwil "Huzzah!" Indarys does in the Oblivion Main Quest - do tend to get in the way. The Brotherhood guys she teamed up with in that pic were just the same as Farwil. Ready to step onto every mine, or into the spray of every minigun.

The regular followers are not quite as bad. They will usually follow your lead. Usually. But even they will sometimes just charge into the fray. Usually once you have equipped your missile launcher or hand grenades...

That critter is much, much worse than a Daedroth, I am afraid to say. They are faster than you, deal out a hundred points of damage in a single hit, and take a nuke to kill them. The nuke only does it if you hit exactly, in this case close does not count. It just makes them mad if you drop the nuke a few feet away from them.

A lot of the journal entries you find from other people in FO3 are audio logs like that. I like it, as it makes the game feel a bit more personal, since you can hear their voice.

King Coin: I love the FO3 Brotherhood armor too. A lot of people clamor for the FO1 and FO2 style, but they do not look as good to me.

That Deathclaw was a very unpleasant surprise! And a very, very close fight, even with stimpacks already hotkeyed.

Hidetaka makes a dramatic exit

Raider's Flyinnnn Sooooo Hiiiiigh!

Hidetaka finds a colony of friendly ants...

...and takes care of another colony of hostile ones that were attacking the good ants.

Another long vid, The second and final part of the Dunwich Horror

Ooh! The horned heroine in front of the ball of flame! Positively cinematic! goodjob.gif

Aww, I wonder if the friendly ants are related to the Antagonizer? wink.gif

Vid - Wow, in a couple cases, Hidetaka was able to get right in a foe’s face undetected! Fun to watch her tossing around frag grenades. Well, she found poor Jaime. kvright.gif
Grits
Yikes, that building is very creepy. Things didn't sound good for Jaime, poor guy. I kept seeing Bobby Pins as Bloody Pins. ohmy.gif

Acadian: One thing I like about FO3, is that the cars are all nuclear powered. A few bullets or a hand grenade near one will cause them to go up in a big mushroom cloud (and kill anything nearby). You can even create chain explosions, which can be lots of fun.

The friendly ants must be the Antagonizer's allies! biggrin.gif

FO3 has devices called Stealth Boys that can only be used once each. They temporarily turn you invisible, which makes it a lot easier to sneak around. Hidetaka was using one for a while in Dunwich. Otherwise it is almost impossible to sneak up into melee range on someone. Hidie was not able to do it without the Stealth Boys until I got her Sneak skill up over 90.

Grits: Many people consider Dunwich the creepiest place in FO3. The reasons are obvious. It is a lot darker than other places, and you can hear the ghouls snarling and running around, but often cannot see them. At least not until they are in your face with their claws and teeth! ohmy.gif I also thought the record of Jaime's search for his father, and his descent into madness and ghouldom to be both sad and chilling. There but for the grace of the Atom we all might go...

Hidetaka is on the lookout for evildoers

Vengeance is mine sayeth the Samurai! (FYI for the non-F03 players, that is the name of the minigun, it is a unique weapon).

A long vid of Hidetaka taking her trusty katana to the Deathclaw Sanctuary
Acadian
Great stuff! There’s Hidie surveying the badlands. Then pulling out the big gun!

The vid was neat. An actual dungeon in FO3! One can certainly see the TES ‘family resemblance’ inside. Wow, she was able to one-shot some of those Deathdudes! I see she found Vengeance down there. Still an open question as to whether a minigun trumps a katana for her purposes. I’ll wager she hangs on to the katana. wink.gif
