Love the golden saint shot - and what a great view of Persephone's beautiful ponytail! tongue.gif

So that's what a cliffracer looks like. Never encountered one.

The stormie looks pretty good in MW. More. . . alive looking than his successors in newer games.

Acadian: Levitating is very helpful in Morrowind. Some areas in dungeons are specifically made to only be reachable via levitation. The landscape of Vvardenfell is split up by mountain ranges, which I think was a clever way to make the game world seem larger, along with the omnipresent mist (which I got rid of asap). But even though the mountain ranges are barriers that restrict your sight across the province, the peaks are also populated with monsters. So Beth must have been expecting people to use levitation to get up on top of them.

mALX: The Ready pic is that same sea along the northern coast of Skyrim. It is just a bit to the east. So you could follow it to Skyland.

Morrowind spells don't have a timer showing how long they have left. So Levitation spells and potions end with no warning. So one moment you are walking on air. The next you are plummeting to your death. If you are quick, you can recast your levitate spell or drink another potion. If not, that is what the quickload key is for! You can recast or drink another potion before you fall of course. You just have to guess when to do it, and have the magicka of course. laugh.gif Persephone found a pair of boots of levitation early on, which she has kept to use for the rest of the game. It makes life a lot easier.

Well, since I know you were in the West Gash; I would be guessing the boots of the Apostle; but before you posted those screens I thought I remembered seeing some of Persephone going into Divayth Fyr's. Could they be those boots you get from Yagrum Bagarn?

I would give anything to watch you play, wish you made vids of your Morrowind gameplay!!!

Holy Crap, that is some rough looking land!

But the Northern shore is the total opposite; just gorgeous !!!

Azura's Coast is pretty too!

Ooh, Telvanni = Divayth Fyr! I hope you get a screen of Persephone talking to him!

Geez, that Corprus Stalker doesn't look as scary as Darryl, laugh.gif

But those Ascended Sleepers = GAAAAAH!

Oh cool, Umbra! And what a gorgeous area you are in there!

These are Awesome!!!

QUOTE(Acadian @ Aug 14 2016, 05:23 PM) *

Wow, Persephone really steals the show - she just looks so darn good in MW. Particularly since the background there is . . . less vibrant than some of the other games.

It really does look that way in the screens; but actually in game it does not look as bleak as it does in the shots. I think trying to get enough distance to show background in Morrowind causes the graphics to go kafluey (technical term). But in game looking around, it is much prettier than it appears on film.

Acadian: Hope you never do encounter a Cliffracer! Bethesda made a mistake when they were placing the spawn points for monsters, and literally set 100 times more of them to exist than they had intended. In some places you literally cannot walk ten feet without being attacked by yet another Cliffracer.

I noticed that the Storm Astronaut has a human-like face in the middle of his rocky body. The ones from other games lack one that looks that anthropomorphic. I think the Oblivion ones are my favorite. I love how the rocks in their body will all fly apart and then come back together again.

mALX: Persephone does have the Boots of the Apostle. At first I thought they were just another pair of levitation boots. But I have not found any other ones in the game. I looked them up recently and found out that they are actually an artifact. They come in very handy.

I never liked the Molag Amur region in my previous playthroughs. But this time I am really enjoying the black, volcanic landscapes.

Persephone has not gone to see Divayth Fyr yet though. She has barely done any of the main quest. She has just been exploring.

Persephone decided to take a break from Vvardenfell, and took a ship to Solstheim. So far she has explored the eastern half of the island, and gotten involved with the Fort Frostmoth quests, and the Skaal. She started fixing all the All-Maker Stones, and so far has done three of them. She still has not gotten to Raven Rock, and I doubt she will want to do the East Empire quest from either side. In her mind, the island is better off without the Empire there.

If I'm not mistaken; those two are the only levitation boots in the game without mods. I wonder if there is any difference in the enchantments on the two levitation boots? The pair you get from Bagarn is Dwarven, so probably heavy armor. Are the Apostle boots medium? They look pretty on the internet pictures.

If we see Vilja in the Solstheim screens, I'll scream, rollinglaugh.gif

Oh, I wish the Morrowind Khajiit were as cute as that Argonian is!

The water in that "Looking Back" screen looks fantastic!

I think it is on a barrow.

Wow, it is huge up close!

D'Aww, what a cute moose !!! And I am surprised; Solstheim is really pretty!!!!

Are the Horker friendly? Why is that one missing its tusks?

This next is my favorite of the group; the look on both Persephone's face and the bear's !!!! Love that shot !!!!

Well, Bethesda didn't go all out on graphics on the Wampa, but it does look scary!

Awesome Shots !!!! Thank you so much for sharing these Morrowind shots, I haven't seen this much of Morrowind in my game! I am loving seeing it!!!

Liked seeing Solstheim from Persephone´s point of view as well as parts I haven´t seen at all due to MQ avoidance. But that is what other gamers are for, right? wink.gif

How neat to see Persephone in Morrow Solstheim after spending a fair amount of time in Skyrim's version. Very cool to see the differences. MW's version appears to be. . . less bleak and more alive maybe. Fun to see the UdderFreak! You know I love Persephone's hair and look I think because I tell you almost every time you post. tongue.gif

Lopov: The snow is a nice change from the swamps and ash of Morrowind.

Fort Frostmoth does not stay in one piece for very long if you do Solstheim's main quest! laugh.gif It does not look much different than the Dragonborn version once the mq gets moving.

I thought beating someone with a severed limb was hilarious. It is a regular weapon too, so you can keep it and use it yourself!

I read up on the glacier bug, and you are right, it is a glitch in the distant land generation that happens if you use MGE (which I do). To fix it, there is a mod you can download that you have to select in the distant land generation, and create the distant land using it. But then of course if you start another character who has not done that particular quest yet, you have to run the distant land generation again without the mod. It just seems like more bother than it is worth, seeing that Persephone is done with Solstheim, at least in this game.

mirocu: You have to make sure you get all the animal entries. The bears and wolves are leveled, so there are 5 or 6 actors for each. The most powerful are named things like Blight Wolf, etc... which make them sound diseased or mutated. But they are just regular animals with higher stats. You also need to give the world time to reset after you activate your mod. I went inside a barrow and waited for 73 hours. After that your changes will work.

Acadian: I modded the weather of Dragonborn's Solstheim to eliminate the ash storms and bleak skies. So it always has an icy blue sky and polar sun. That makes it more appealing than the Morrowind version to me.

It was neat to fight the Unidentified Mutton's son, and to meet Svenja Snowsong. both bring back memories of Dive Rock.

mALX: That was another Draugr indeed. He is a former sorcerer living under the big lake on Solstheim. You can team up with him to stop a daedra attack on the island.

The Frost Giant was extremely difficult to fight. I had to run up, hit him a few times, then run away to heal. Then do it all over again and again. If he got more than a few hits in at a time it would kill Persephone.

The werewolves do not look very big. They are seriously overpowered, to the point of being cheaty. I did not like them much.

I think Dagoth Ur is The Dreamer. But the place I took that pic with the "Dreamer awakens" graffiti also had an Ascended Sleeper in it. So it could have been something it had written about itself.

Was she in Kogoruhn? That is most def Sixth House. And I might not remember whether it was Dagoth-Ur who was known as "The Dreamer," but I do remember that he said the Sixth House would rise again; and there is some lorebook in game that talks about how the children who survived the original sacking of the Sixth House were taken in and raised by the other houses - and that they all had similar dreams as they were growing up and heard a song when they slept that was the call to their heritage (whether they knew it or not) so they would kind of "find each other" through the dreams and song and rebuild the Sixth House.

Can you tell it has always fascinated me? rollinglaugh.gif

I did a piece on it for some writing contest over at the Official Bethesda forums called, "The Rise of Dagoth" = so yeah, I agree with you (now that I remember a bit about it) that Dagoth-Ur would have been the one they were referring to.

It (that phrase) was written in places in the game; all of them dungeons. One of the other writings is in Latin, and one in Daedric and written in blood; and in one of the three places you can also find the Sixth House symbol; but I can't remember which one.

I just love anything to do with the Sixth House, I think it is one of the greatest creations Bethesda put into the Elder Scrolls - it never ends, never has to end because Dagoth-Ur proved they could rise again - and would!

That Netch is amazing!!! It looks so much more graphicly perfect than so many other creatures in the game! I do love the Betty Netches in ESO (actually my first time seeing a Netch!)

I LOVE the sunset shot; not because of the beautiful sky or land backdrop, but because Persephone is THAT HIGH UP IN THE SKY for the screenshot !!!!!!!!!!! Aren't those levitations timed? Won't she fall? I absolutely LOVE that she is up there like that !!!!!!!

Beautiful area! And Red Mountain in the background; but look in the foreground !!!! A Dunmer Stronghold !!!!! Which is it?

Azura's coast looks amazing, that water looks like it is rolling!

Have to love Azura !!!!

Acadian: I really liked the Ashlands in Morrowind. They have a desolate beauty, in the way a desert landscape does (something I am sure you can relate to).

The Dwemer Ruins changed a bit from Morrowind to Skyrim. in MW they have tall, slender towers that tilt all over the place, topped with graceful curved roofs with sharply pointed spires. They look very much like fantasy castles that have fallen on hard times. Where in Sky they are big, thick towers with low, rounded domes. Very Byzantine looking. I think I liked the design of the MW version better.

I think it did come as a surprise to Vivec. In their conversation Persephone agreed to everything he said. In fact, she had even done some of the things he wanted her to. But apparently he never calculated that Dagoth Ur was not the only False God on the Living Dead Girl's hit list.

New Dawn was such a perfect image. The moment I saw it I knew I had to take a picture of that.

mALX: Persephone did clean out Kogoruhn at some point. Her first time behind the GhostFence was from following its tunnels. That might be the place where the "Sleeper has awakened" writing was from.

Persephone no longer relies on levitation spells. She found the Boots of the Apostle early on, which made life in Morrowland much easier.

I think that stronghold in the Grazelands pic was Indoranyan. But I am not positive.

BwaaHaa! Umbacano!!!!

These next few shots really struck me, because when this game first came out it was a pioneer in great graphics, and now looking at these it kind of reminds me how far we have come in this past decade - but Morrowind did have some awesome graphics, I think they just don't photograph as well as they look in game; especially when taking distance shots - it is a shame, too; because it doesn't even begin to represent the feel of seeing Morrowind and being in it.

Wow, I never made it to Vivec Ci...GAAAAAAH!!!!! You killed Vivec? GAAAAAH!

This Red Mountain shot is Awesome !!!

And then they have some great graphics like these!!! Ooh, Keening!!!!

Dagoth-Ur !!!! WOO HOO !!!!! I'm dying to know what he looks like behind the mask, did you get to?

And the Numidium - freaky looking!!!!!

Holy Cow!!!! I've seen vids, but never seen screens of the confrontation with Ur!!! These are amazing!!!! THIS is when the quest writers were at their best, this and the Arena storyline - I didn't find the same thrill at all in the main questline of Skyrim, sad to say.

It is really hard to say this, especially with screens of Persephone battling Dagoth-Ur; the Heart of Lorkhan; etc. = but the shot of Persephone at the end in "A new dawn" - I can't believe that is my favorite shot!!!! Why = There was a real feeling in that shot of just coming out the other side of a tremendous battle she almost didn't survive; having come through and being able to look at the realm that will be forever changed (for the good) by it. That comes through in that screen. Has to be my favorite!

Awesome, AWESOME shots!!! This whole set goes amongst my top favorite screens of all in your thread !!!

GAAAAH, she is going back to Skyrim? verysad.gif Oh well, I just love Persephone no matter where she is: Oblivion, Morrowind, the Wasteland - even Skyrim, lol. She is great no matter where she is.

Acadian: I have spent the last few days working on mods and getting things ready for Persephone's return to the land of ice and snow. It is good to be back. It feels really strange after playing Morrowind for so long.

Wait, how did these screens come out in Black and White?

"Azura's Coast" shot is AWESOME !!!!

You have used that caption before, and if I am not mistaken - in the same place! Still, Awesome shot!

"The Sun Sets" is a spectacular shot!

Skyrim is looking a bit "Kodachrome" in these shots; like everything is in mono and Persephone's skin is in color and standing out amongst a colorless background! Is this something you have accomplished through modding? It sure does make for some interesting screens!

Well, Skyrim Persephone is def not as appealing as in the other realms; she most def gives off the "Undead" vibe in Skyrim (which I'm sure is what you were going for, but in the other realms her eyes bypass her undead state and give you a glimpse into the side of her that once lived).

In Skyrim - you can feel her dead/undead state powerfully, her shots look like there is a tangible veil between herself and the life all around her! That is pretty amazing you were able to accomplish such a radical feel to the game and her in Skyrim !!!

Awesome Shots !!!!

Acadian: I was hoping for a longer ponytail, like the one from Ren's Hair, but I could not find that one particular hairstyle ported to Skyrim. I did add several other ponytails, but sadly most of them clip through her hood.

mALX: I love the way Red Mountain looks with all the red fog around it. Sadly you cannot pull of that gold mask that Dagoth Ur wears. I am assuming it is a mask. But maybe it is just as well that we cannot see what is underneath it...

My favorite of those Morrowind shots is the final one too, under a blue sky looking down at Vvardenfell rolling out from Red Mountain. It made it all feel worthwhile, seeing the world changed.

Sadly those black and white pics are completely vanilla. The lighting in Skyrm is often that colorless. I have actually been working a bit on the weather, and trying to add more color, especially to the nights.

I really like how Persephone looks in Skyrim best of all games. It is the game she was 'born' in, and the one that gives me the most options to really show her otherworldliness.

I can think of no one better to investigate the Windhelm Butcher than Persephone!

She does look at home among her bony friends.

Freeing the Pit Wolves! Buffy used to do that as well. She’d pacify ‘em, set ‘em free and sneak out of their range. biggrin.gif

Aurora’s a classic and beautiful shot.

I would not want to be on the other end of steamed Persephone’s two hander! ohmy.gif

Acadian: Inspector Persephone is definitely the perfect detective to hunt down a necromantic murderer.

My characters always turn loose the pit wolves. Some of them sneak in and turn them loose, then watch them kill their former masters. Others pacify them first, and do all the killing themselves. Persephone is one of the latter. She has no quarrel with wolves. They just do what they were intended to.

Persephone looks pretty scary in Malediction.

I love the look of a ward spell in use!

Yay for Darryl’s sister!

What a beautiful capture of the waterfall and night sky effects!
Lopov
Persephone always looks good but in Skyrim she looks the best. Her pale skin and bright eyes "work" great with snowy environments.

The Sweet Prince shot is just perfect - the lightning, Persephone's posture, the prince looking at us and Solitude in the background.

Death Red suits her well.

The expression on her face is like the on Steven Seagal's face - whether she's in a fight or relaxing, it's always the same. laugh.gif
SubRosa
Acadian: Now you have me thinking of the Grey Council from Babylon 5: "I am Grey. I stand between the candle and the star. We are Grey. We stand between the darkness and the light."

Sigrun is proving to be an excellent partner for Persephone. I am so glad I created her, and her back story.

I thought you would appreciate the waterfall. I believe you have posted at least one Buffy pic at that same waterfall.

Lopov: When I first started playing Skyrim, Falkreath was my favorite hold, because it the green forests so similar to Oblivion. But after a while the snowy wastes of the north became my favorite places, especially the glaciers between Winterhold and Dawnstar. For Persephone the arctic is especially perfect, because the coldest glacier is still warmer than the grave. The frozen desolation suits her to a tee, it is almost a mirror to her heart.

Now I am imagining Under Siege with Persephone as the main character. It wouldn't have turned out pretty much the same, except Persephone would not need a gun!

Persephone likes tall men, it seems.

In Persephone's world to disarm = to dismember.

Combination of red and blue magic works well with Persephone's white skin.

Lol @ hippies! Only the flower power van is missing.

Love her face in the Bad day to be a bandit shot.

Yeah, she better imposes some birth control over bandits, they spawn and respawn in way too large numbers.

Bad day to be a daedra tells the whole story for those of us who know Persephone. Persephone is casting some mojo and I see Sigrun’s arrow en route.

I really like how that cool icy aura in Ice Queen makes her eyes a pretty blue so they kind of match Sigrun’s beautiful eyes.

Every one of these shots could be my favorite each for its own reasons. Pilgrim is hauntingly serene and beautiful, but with a touch of chill from those eyes Persephone has in Skyrim.

Malediction feels like the viewer has stepped into the grave with Persephone - or is about to from that "Sword of Light."

Arcane power for its color and catching all that amazing power in the split second of a spell releasing.

Sigrun - what I saw in this one was the placement of the candles and Sigrun in the center - like a ritual was performed that raised him from the dead! Intriguing and mysterious!

Galactic Waterfall - it is such a beautiful backdrop that you expect to see it under sunny skies and a warm sun; but instead it is dark and eerie; and a very unusual and menacing cloud formation above = it gives the impression that the scene WAS warm and sunny until Persephone came, and that she brought the darkness and cloud with her! Amazing shot !!!!

You have captured a whole mood with these shots, HUGE Update !!!!! Amazing camera work !!!!!

Wait, in two of these screens Persephone's eyes look really pretty! Are you trying out different eyes on her? ll

I am stunned at the friendly giant in the first shot !!!!! why did they all try to kill my characters?

All of the "Bad Day" shots had me laughing because I couldn't help but think of the "Airplane" movie where Lloyd Bridges kept saying:

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit smoking...
Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit drinking...
Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit amphetamines...
Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue...

(etc).

LOVE the "Hippies!!!!!" (Now, where have I seen that before? laugh.gif )

Geez, I am so torn for a favorite with these! "Cold Hard" is pristine; surprising. What a spectacular shot !!!!!

"Birth Control" - GOT to love that one!!!!

But I am so drawn to "Two dead girls" by the expression on Persephone's face and the fact that the Sigrun has a bustline despite her bony state - but even that couldn't distract from Persephone's expression.

AWESOME SHOTS, all !!!!!!

SubRosa
Lopov: Persephone takes some things literally, including disarmament! laugh.gif

Persephone and Sigrun cooled down that Fire Astronaut permanently!

Too bad there is no Mystery Machine mod, someone could mod it into the background, along with some Scooby Snacks.

Acadian: That was the sad giant with the dead mammoth in eastern Eastmarch. He is one of the friendly ones that you can get a picture with.

I don't think Persephone can remember warmth anymore. In fact, if I had to describe her in one word it would be "Cold".

Darkwater was one of those wonderful occasions where things just came together and a lovely picture presented itself.

mALX: I went through a couple ponytails before I found the one that worked best. It was not easy, because I had to add each individually into my Deadwalker Race mod.

The bandit by the campfire is wearing one of the skimpier versions of the vanilla fur armor is all.

The pics of the bodies in Windhelm is from Blood on the Ice. The first is the barmaid who is murdered. The last is the killer (of course).

The pit wolves are normally hostile. But I have modded several ways to make it unnecessary for my characters to kill wild animals. Persephone uses a Kyne's Peace spell I created.

When I saw Sigrun standing in the middle of those candles I knew I had to get a pic of it too. By the time I lined it up, her spell ran out and she vanished. So I had to summon her again, walk her over, and take the pic a second time.

That is not a cloud formation in the Galactic Waterfall pic. That is the stars of the Milky Way galaxy seen edge on. It is added by a mod.

The giants in the giant camps are always hostile. But the ones you come across walking down the road or just standing around in the wilderness are usually friendly.

Cool pics all!

For some reason, the ponytail on Persephone makes her seem, well, more human. Of course, when she is helmed, any hint of humanity disappears.

One thing I thought I would point out, having done numerous necropsies: For a dead girl, the scars on Persephone's face strike me as being particularly premortem. Typical appearance of healing tissue, which we know is not the case in the dead. I would almost prefer to see the scars be almost as white as her eyes. It would show how old these scars are, and how long she has worn them (since before her death, in fact).

I have several old scars on my hands, and while I am still very much alive, I can tell you these old scars are whiter than my pale skin . . .
Acadian
Wow, Persephone is ever so at home in the frozen land inhabited by the Children of the Sky. The exact same thought has occurred to me in the past that Rider just expressed. Persephone's ponytail makes her look more girly than she looks with a hood. I like the look very much but then I'm both a sucker for ponytails and I like the dichotomy of her cold-as-ice & hard-as-steel look as I imagine her running along with her ponytail girlishly bouncing behind her. tongue.gif

* Those are some of my favorite mods that you make = the non-hostile animals. In ESO, the wolves will growl and chase you away from their feeding grounds, but not attack unless you remain in their territory or attack/fight them.

As long as you beat a hasty retreat away from their food, they will turn back once you are away from their territory. I like that A LOT. They let you know they CAN be dangerous if you don't get out of there (and are if you don't) - but they don't want to fight or kill unless they have to in order to protect what is theirs.

* The Milky Way galaxy!!! That is Awesome !!! I did wonder if it was a mod, but never imagined that it was the Milky Way! Awesome !!!!!!

*

In the Dark is AWESOME !!! What a shot !!!

In total contrast, Persephone looks vulnerable in this next "Rift" shot!

That pony tail is fantastic! You chose it so well! It may have been trouble having to add it to the "Deadwalker Race mod;" but so totally worth it for the results!

Nice light and shadow contrasting in the "White Wolf" shot!

"Frosty" looks monochrome, and in shots like that = very effective! You said that was vanilla? On the one hand, shame on Bethesda. On the other, thumbs up on your capture of it for the mood setting it enhances your screen with, lol.

That is one wicked looking greatsword!

All great shots, and my favorite would have been Persephone and Sigrun together if you hadn't added the shot above it = The Rift. Even a Deadwalker has vulnerable moments, and your camera captured this one split-second of Persephone when despite her abilities and already dead - for that one moment it looks like she didn't feel sure or confident of what was coming next. Awesome shot, hands down my favorite!

SubRosa
haute ecole rider: You guess that you don't see too many vampires, zombies, or wraiths with ponytails! laugh.gif It is one of the things that makes her unique. She is a one of the kind undead, so the ponytail helps visibly set her apart.

Persephone got those scars when she was 15, and died when she was 29 (and her body was frozen in time). So her scars ought to look 14 years old, which should definitely make them old and faded. But there is nothing I can do about it. Bethesda made the scars, not me.

Acadian: Skyrim was the first game Persephone starred in. So I suppose it only natural that she fits best there.

I like how her ponytail has worked out. I had to work for hours adding hairstyles to my Deadwalker mod in order to find one that was right.

mALX: The white wolf pic is named after the cover of Tales of the White Wolf. When Persephone walked through those two stone columns, it made me think of the book cover, and how similar it looked.

Yes, I think I did see a mod that made the scars look older, i.e. healed. But whether or not it makes them whiter, I can't quite recall. And I'm too drunk right now on stout to go looking. I'll have to search for it when I'm sober, and see if it will give us the result that is more fitting of my favorite undead woman.

I had to laugh at the "Future Guard!" I have a screenie of my own with just that shot, I'll have to post it soon!

I love how the ponytail makes Persphone seem human in spite of her undead coloring - it gives an added dimension to her.

And Sigrun. What can I say? She strikes me as the kind of strong woman I love to adventure with! Maybe Julian if she was a First Era Nord!

Well, I do like her ponytail and the white color is ever so perfect for her. Persephone’s force seems strong within you – I’m so please that she has grown on you so much and yes, Skyrim seems perfect for her. I confess that I suffered from Darryl withdrawls, as he and Persephone have been through so much together, but Sigrun is rapidly growing on me.

haute ecole rider: Who can pass up an "Arrow to the Knee" joke? I think it is one of the things pop culture latched on to most about Skyrim.

Sigrun is working out really well. She fits right in with Persephone, just like Darryl Ulfar.

Lopov: I am afraid to say where that first pic is, because I am hoping to use it in the Where Am I? topic some day.

Unfortunately Sigrun has the nasty Bethesda companion habit of targeting Persephone's back! laugh.gif But when she does hit the bad guys, it hurts.

I love the landscapes in Bethesda games. Even one as old as Morrowind could produce breath taking imagery.

Acadian: It always feels a little odd playing Persephone without Darryl Ulfar making an appearance. But Sigrun has worked into things really well. She feels just as naturally to have back there with her bow as Ulfie does with his shouting.

Red-Handed is indeed Persephone showing off her Deadwalker Absorb Health spell. Two fists of red death! (That sounds like a kung fu movie title! laugh.gif )
