Ready, aim, FIRE! Hidetaka does look funny with a pistol - even a whiz bang one. That katana looks like it absolutely belongs in her hand - a part of her.
SubRosa
Acadian: Guns are not her go to weapon, but sometimes they come in handy. Like against fire-breathing geckos. It's also a nod to her family history. Her brother Oda cemented his rule over Japan by defeating the Takeda clan at Nagashino with arquebuses.

The Divide

Hidetaka walks a lonesome road

Bright future

Hidetaka's game sort of ran out of steam after killing Benny. So I think that is the end of her run in New Vegas, at least for now.

But I did recreate a familiar Fallout character, but not in a Fallout game

I also started up a new game of Senua's Sacrifice last night and took a bunch of pics from the 1st chapter.

Gosh it took me this long to notice how appropriate Hidetake’s footwear is! She was a neat character. May she rest beside a waterfall of real cherry blossoms.

Oh, Hecate is neat wherever she goes!

And more Senua! That game has wonderful looks and seems like it would be very engaging. Nice to see you giving it another go.
SubRosa
Acadian: In Fallout 3 and New Vegas armor is all one piece. So the split toe socks are part of the entire package. Only the helmet is a separate item.

Hecate is working out well in Pillars. Maybe I will give her a go in Skyrim or Oblivion? If I can get her glasses.

It is not blood or dirt on Senua's right hand and forearm. That is the Darkness inside her, a rot that steadily grows every time you die in the game. Supposedly if it reaches your head you die permanently, and the game is over. But it never does.

Looks very moody - in a neat way. It seems like there may be a good balance between being inside Senua's head and a fair amount of action. Certainly looks like an interesting game!
SubRosa
Acadian: It's very moody and atmospheric. It puts you firmly into Senua's head, along with all the other voices.

The screenshots are as wonderful to see this time as were the ones where you showed us your first go through. Are you enjoying the experience second time through? I'm guessing you are as it sure looks like a powerful story. Gosh what a spectacular sky in your first shot!
SubRosa
Acadian: I enjoyed the game quite a bit the second time around. I kind of think of it more like a movie. It is something to experience.

Despite the harsh lands, these are beautiful pictures. Nice studies of Senua's face. Her wide open eyes and overall expressions quite convey her desperation... almost a sense of internal panic. Very cool and I'm so glad you're enjoying experiencing her story again.
SubRosa
Acadian: They really did a spectacular job with painting a vivid setting in this game, and with the motion capture and voice acting of the actress who plays Senua. The funny thing is she was not even a professional actress. She is one of the behind the scenes people who works for the developer. They used her as a temporary stand in for Senua during the first days of development, before they could hire an actress. She was so good at it that they kept her as Senua.

That is the end of the game this time around. It was still really good the second time around. One of the good things is that I still sort of remembered the really tricky puzzles, so they did not vex me so much. But the biggest bonus was understanding that I did not have to win the final battle. I really think this would make a great movie, or Netflix series.

Some more powerful shots of Senua's game. So glad you enjoyed your second play through! I recall seeing a short vid clip I think you linked featuring the young lady who did the acting/formed the basis for Senua. Very neat!

What a hoot as Hecate shares her Fallout comparisons. Flying deathclaws indeed! Love her big ponytail, Triss outfit and trademarked HecateSpecs. You’ve done a fabulous job with her!
Acadian
Some beautiful - and nostalgic - bow action shots in Skyrim! With a few tweaks, archery really is very fun in Skyrim. smile.gif
SubRosa
Acadian: It took me a week, but I finally remembered you can zoom in with the right mouse button when using a bow! laugh.gif I am starting to get back in the way this game is played.

Wonderful shots, and so glad to see Hecate adjusting nicely to the medieval fantasy tundra. Properly modded, I did indeed find Skyrim to be a magnificently satisfying archer/sniper hunting ground. After 4K hours in the game with only one character though, it did grow to feel. . . a bit small and overly familiar. smile.gif
SubRosa
Acadian: Skyland got old for me too. But since I have left it alone for over a year, I find I am rediscovering some things again. Especially dialogue. I am hearing things which I swear is for the first time. Which could be, it has been many years since I did the vanilla start of the game, and seen Hadvar and Ralof, or talked to Jarl Balgruuf and Farengar.

I'm so glad that you and Hecate are enjoying Skyrim. I can imagine how coming back after a time off would be pretty nice - it is a neat game, after all. smile.gif Great dragon fightin' shots of Hecate and her bow in action!
ghastley
QUOTE(SubRosa @ Nov 14 2017, 04:00 AM) *

This one really captures some of the game's limitations. The bowstring's well ahead of the arrow; her hair is totally unaffected by the blast of frost; and I could probably find more.

But it's still a great screenie!

SubRosa
Acadian: After the last few dragon fights, I am starting to think Hecate might need to get a bigger boat bow...

ghastley: That one pic was taken just after Hecate fired, so the arrow was forward and the bow bent outward.

But of course her hair is unaffected by the dragon's breath. Hecate uses conditioner after all! laugh.gif

Ah yes, dragon fights. In her Skyprime, Buffy did well with those - a combo of strong bowpower and maxed out magic resistance (Breton blood from her father, the Mara questline, every trick to max it out).

Fun pictures of life in Skyrim for Hecate. Cooking and such. Heh, darn kids - always letting the atronach out of the bottle. 'My Word' is cute - and wonderfully titled.
SubRosa
Acadian: I don't have a lot of experience with fighting dragons. I usually never see them in my games! For things so gigantic, they are gosh darn difficult to hit when they are flying around. I am using a mod that reskins them, and I cannot remember if makes them tougher as well. They are not easy fights, that is for certain.

What a wonderful set of shots!

Heh, to an archer, a 'ward' spell simply marks her target. I remember that area with those skellies standing so conveniently all together in a puddle of oil to light off. Love Hecate's Stormie. 'Only One' is a cool shot and marvelously titled.

Buffy tried that big ponytail but felt like it was bigger than she was and Superian teased her. Hecate wears it well though. Speaking of Buffy, yes, that is exactly how she feels sometimes! Has to jump up onto the counter to get a clerk's attention. laugh.gif

Relaxing by the fire is just magnificent! The cozy feel, beautiful room and Hecate's pose is picture perfect!
SubRosa
Acadian: Those ward spells do make aiming much easier in the dark!

That ponytail probably is bigger than Buffy!

Heh, I remember ‘Hecate’s balls’ quest.

New hat? Nah, no room for that ponytail!

Man’s world? Or is Hecate simply a dude magnet?

Love the shots of Hecate’s sniping in action. I know what you mean about the Stormie getting in the way. SkyBuff settled on Kitsune. The vixen was below Buffy’s line of fire. She was set up to do no significant damage to the ankles or knees of Buffy's foes, but her magical wardings could make a dragon priest wince – a tiny tank.
SubRosa
Acadian: That horned hat does have some serious frost resistance though. Hecate wore it as far back as Windhelm. Then once there were people around she had to put it away of course.

I have been thinking about what you said about Kitsune, and decided to the same. I create a new summons just for Hecate, that won't spoil her shots. No good pics of it this time around though.

Acadian: The funny thing is the giant dropped dead an instant after the dragon did. I had to use the console to resurrect him (the giant). Then he attacked Hecate! Talk about gratitude...

Dorito breath! Aravi gets that frequently.

Deathclaws with wings somehow sounds more frightening than a dragon does.

As lame as the final fight is, his actual death was pretty cool I thought. And then there's all the dragons on the mountain top!
Acadian
Great shots!

Odahviing. Awwww. happy.gif

Flying High. Welcome to the rarified world of Dragonriders!

Dark Deeds. Wonderfully mystic with Hecate’s spirit bow and spirit wolf.

Sovngarde Awaits. Wow, what a sky!

Nice to get some ancient Nordic helpers to take on the Big Bad.
SubRosa
King Coin: Deathclaws are more frightening than dragons. I think because there is no magic to use against Deathclaws. Just lead and cold steel.

I loved the dragon funeral above the Throat of the World at the end. It is too bad nothing seems to come of it. As it making some kind of peace with the remaining dragons, and persuading them to stop attacking everything near their lairs.

Acadian: Hecate could used to this Deathclaw-Flying business! She would love to bring one of them back to the Wasteland.

Hecate has been chewing through the charges on her bow lately, so she has fallen back on using the bound bow sometimes to save the charges for the times it really matters.

It was fun teaming up with the Ancient Nords that she saw defeat Alduin back in time. They don't have any ghosts back in the Capital Wasteland, or even New Vegas.

Acadian
Ah yes, the boat arrival in Solstheim.

Heh, I guess to a Human Wastelander a Dunmeri Ashlander would indeed look like a mutant!

Soul gems/charges work similarly in ESO/Skyrim. One difference is that, shortly after I began playing ESO, they went to only one size of soul gem. Bandit or mudcrab, both will fully fill a 'soul gem'. I quite like the change to lession micromanagement and inventory management.

A big elven grin visited as we looked at the several 'mystic archer' shots of Hecate in action.

I recognize that Bloodskal Blade and its location.

Though perhaps related to Darryl, this Blue-eyed bastage got justifiably mystic'ed by our archer!
SubRosa
Acadian: Almost everyone in Skyland is a mutant to Hecate. Of course she is a mutant too. It's hard to get through Fallout 3 without getting a few new lines to the old gene code...

Wow! It is the glasses that make Hecate look right at home in Hermie's house of books. Disgusting as that place was, I wonder if Hecate, like Buffy, was drawn to all those books.

Spectacular sky over that dragon takedown!

Looks like she's pretty much put a fork in Solstheim and called it done?
SubRosa
Acadian: Hecate thought all the books were kind of strange. I mean, who writes on paper instead of holotapes? wink.gif

Hecate was worried she might get too soft from the easy living in Skyrim. So she left Solstheim and headed back to the Commonwealth, and the old, familiar scents of gunpowder and gun oil.

Heh, using a six shooter instead of a lockpick?

She looks so funny dwarfed inside that power ranger armor.

Uh oh, gotta work on that barrel temperature discipline.

Wingless dragon!

Aww, more than a faint smile from Hecate. wink.gif
SubRosa
Lopov: Magic made some things a lot easier.

The miniguns can overheat and seize up. I use a mod that makes them last longer, but you still have to be careful not to keep your finger on the trigger for too long.

Except for a fun guns that came with custom animations, all my game's animations are pure vanilla, including Hecate's smile.

Acadian: In the end, the lockpick worked much better than the Beretta.

Those minigun barrels heat up awful quick. Hecate will stick to her sniper rifles instead. One shot is what she prefers.

Lopov
The Exit pic reminds me of an underground disco I used to visit when studying, which was located in a renovated wine cellar. The way out looked almost exactly the same.

In general, the Commonwealth reminds me a lot of the Capital Wasteland.

Nice poses, Hecate!

Grab those pre-war money and run! laugh.gif
SubRosa
Acadian: That super fortress is indeed Hecate's humble home. She is still working on filling up the wall with heavy machine guns. She only has about 30 or so. I think 50 will do it.

Hecate could be a driver for Nukcar... wink.gif

Lopov: Neat about the underground disco. I hope it did not have a sniper at the exit though! ohmy.gif

There are a lot of similarities between FO3 and 4 of course. The biggest difference is that they did put in that green tint over everything in 4. There is more stuff in F4. More things like dead leaves, and more detritus laying around like old tires, rusted shopping carts, and so on. That and the Commonwealth is more vertical. There were some multi-storied buildings in FO3 of course, but not to the extent that there in F4. There are a lot more fire-escapes and rooftops you can climb up on, and get shot from. The exterior of the Corvega Plant is just incredible when it comes to that. That picture just barely scratches the surface.

Hecate's bed sheets are all made from pre-war money! And everything else that requires cloth.

It's better to bowl with some music in the background.

Solstheim! I really enjoyed that DLC. smile.gif

Loved that sword you find in the tomb. Made me think of changing Aravi's fighting style.

In most ways, magic sucked in Skyrim, but the one thing they got very right was the summoned weapons.

You put way more effort into Sancuary than I ever do laugh.gif I find most of the settlement building just tedious.

Nice guns biggrin.gif and armor. which is that?

Dec 15
I was a little disappointed that the juke boxes didn't do anything in the game.

Again, I love that armor she's wearing. smile.gif
SubRosa
Acadian: The Juke Box always makes me think of this song (they are an old local band that never quite made it nationwide)

I wish there was an AntAgonizer outfit, I would so love to play Anty in Fallout 4.

Well, 'endcaps' are prime product placement!

Lopov: That is the same helmet in both pics. It is based on the Assaultron helmet from the Mechanist dlc. It opens up when you do not have a weapon out. But when you draw a gun the four pieces close up, leaving only an eye slit open.

King Coin: Solstheim is a really fun place to explore. I just wish they had not tied so much of it to the Miraak quest, especially not being able to sleep.

Those creatures were really all kinds of creepy and gross. They were great additions.

I am not really a big fan of the settlement building. So I don't usually spend a lot of time with it. But I wanted to try out the stone walls for a while. It was a pain to get it all in place. I finally finished putting up the guns - 59 Hardened Turrets. Of course with that many guns, no one is going to attack now.

Hecate wears The Sirius Assault Suit. Her rifle is an HK 417 from Modern Firearms. I don't like a lot of the things in Modern Firearms, and it locks up the Creation Kit when I try to edit it. So I took the meshes and textures, and created my own standalone mod with just the 417.

You can play the Jukeboxes. You just have to select them, the same as with a radio.
