I don't care what the Nostalgia Critic says about the Sylvester Stallone Judge Dredd, I love that movie .

Well I finally test fired The Judge and it kicks like a .44 Magnum with the penetration of a .22 shotshell. Then again The Judge with 410 gauge shells is meant to used at point blank range. Now I just need to get a hold of some 45 Long Colts to really see what this weapon can do.

Well the rounds I used where the target rounds, I imagine the defense rounds will be a bit more nastier, then again this particular weapon is meant for close encounters so long range is out of the question. Still nice to be able to fire a weapon in my backyard and not have to worry about stray bullets .

Found a new grip for my Judge. The grip I have is okay its just to small for my liking.

Anyone who says the 410 gauge is wimpy needs to look at the defense rounds...I do NOT want to be on the receiving end of these.

Yeah those 410 defense rounds are nasty. Speaking of which I managed to buy some 45 Long Colts so now my Judge has range now if needed.

But how do they perform in a short, non-rifled barrel?

My Judge has rifling in the barrel, my guess they're no different then shooting in a snub nosed pistol. Speaking of which I found out the 45 Long Colt and 45 Colt are basically the same round and both will shoot in my Judge. That makes shopping for ammo easier.

Oh. I thought it was non-rifled due to the whole shotgun ammo ability thing. Yes.

I think most modern shotguns are rifled to allow the use of slugs in them. Speaking of which I found some neat 410 rounds that has a slug, a ball and pellets all in one shell, I call it the combo shell and boy did it look even more nasty then 410 defense rounds I use .

Well, you don't really need a rifled barrel for standard slugs. I shoot them in smooth-bores myself. There is another kind though which requires a rifled barrel but I forget what the name of it is. and it's called sabbot

I was thinking more how your gun handles the pellets with a rifled barrel. Wouldn't it be damaged? Well, I'd suppose not since it can shoot it, but still. My birdbrain cannot compute this

I don't think the pellets damages the barrel but cleaning it after shooting the shells is a pain in the butt.

So is cleaning a BP gun which is why I don't shoot them too often..

Man those 410 Gauge target practice shells are WEEEEEEAAAAAAK and hard to clean. The 45 Long Colts didn't feel to bad though.

Not sure what I am, I can hit and group pretty good so I'm not the poser, I could be the Hipster but I seldom use range rentals and only talk about the latest firearm in the lobby or sells, very little do I talk to anyone while in the range.



You have better chances rapid firing a lever action...although the straight pull bolt was designed for more "rapid" shooting.

If Khajiit had a gun that required some skill to use he’d probably go to an indoor range. All this one has is a snubnosed .38 and two 20 gauge shotguns (a side by side double barrel and a pump).

Every gun needs some level of skill. Even snubnoses and shotguns

Nah, it’s point and shoot. At the ranges those guns are useful at, accuracy isn’t really a factor.

While you don't "aim" like with a rifle, you still need to be on target, or ahead of it at the right speed and distance and I contribute that to skill.

Well perhaps Khajiit was a bit wrong. You certainly do need skill for skeet shooting/bird hunting, but you aren’t going to get training for that in an indoor gun range, so Khajiit still has no reason to take his guns to such a place. For this one’s purposes (home defense; Khajiit will more than likely not be hunting deer with these guns, lol), the close range and tight spaces make finesse less important (indeed, these guns are not finesse weapons). That said, Khajiit used to be murder on a dove hunting field or skeet range, so perhaps a bit of natural talent helps too!

Sure, in those situations stable nerves are much more important I'd say.


And indeed, talent takes you a long way! For some reason I was quite good skeet shooting when I was a total n00b, but for whatever reason the more I shot the worse I got. I suspect I started to think more on how to hold instead of just go with it like I did in the beginning

Yeah, this one knows what you mean. You get to a point where you overthink how to aim when really, due to all the projectiles’ scatter, you can’t truly “aim”, it’s more like throwing a net. Instinct is a good thing to have when skeet shooting/bird hunting.

Absolutely. Instinct or feeling for the shot is king. When I ever got it right I didn't have to do anything; no matter how long I waited to pull the trigger I KNEW that I would hit the target whenever I so chose to pull said trigger. It's like having an aimbot!

A buddy of Khajiit’s got a bullpup 12 gauge for Christmas. Thing is badass! It has two 6 shot tubes with a selector switch that allows you to change what tube feeds the chamber!

I'd say it is that gun; looks too similar to just be similar. The other one I can think of is the Kel Tec and that has a different design.
