I'm too lazy to move anyway. So if I want an M&P I think I'll have to settle with the CO2 version like I did with the Colt SAA biggrin.gif

Yeah Khajiit thinks in that case he’d spend the money on something else. Like a primo edged weapon!

So where you at with that? Still thinking about it?

Yeah, but just thinking. Need to be more careful with my moneyz right now as I also want more black powder guns and a battery powered circular saw. Got one of those at work and instantly fell in love with it. The saw, that is. Not a gun tongue.gif

Good luck getting your CCP, btw!

Honestly that saw sounds like it would be a good investment for you. Khajiit is sure you could use it for your endless projects you have going on at your property.

Thanks for the encouragement on the CCP.

Nice gun, Khajiit! Makes me wanna become a Murican Citizen myself biggrin.gif

I'd recommend against it.

Especially if you ever decided to move out of the country again, because being responsible for paying US taxes regardless of where you live and work(and if you pay taxes there you can, and in most cases do, get double dipped on them) is a pain in the backend.

So you are saying if an American citizen moves to another country they still have to pay taxes to the US?

Well its that time of season where a cellphone starts dying on you and you have to take it out side and send it to that phone store in the sky.
My cell phone died so I decided to put it down with my .22 Magnum, man I love shooting that thing.

Yes.

I get a few bucks a month in interest on a savings account.

I have to file income taxes on it, despite not living in the US. It's called Citizenship Based Taxation and we're one of two countries that do it.. the other I think is friggin Eritrea.

Living in Sweden, I don't have to actually pay anything until I make over like 88k USD a year because of a tax agreement, but after that I'm responsible for paying US income tax.

And not every country has a tax agreement. Some you get double dipped on from the start.

I'm heavily considering relinquishing my citizenship over it. I can't get of course, or I become stateless. But being an American abroad is a real pain in the butt. I'm having a hard time getting a bank account, for example, because the bank has to report my account to the IRS. It's overhead they don't like doing. This also means I will have trouble making a retirement account, which I thought of doing after Mom died. Invest the inheritance type deal. Can't unless I use a US based account.

Grr.

This also affects "accidental Americans". Say you're born overseas but have an American parent. You have US citizenship, despite having never lived there. You're also responsible for income tax.

It's why I can't understand the trend in China to come across pregnant, give birth to get the kid citizenship, and then go home. They do it "to open up opportunity" later in life. Instead they gave them a tax burden that could potentially put them in jail if the IRS finds out about it.

Ugh.

Irritating.

Cause it is laugh.gif . Won't be the first time I had to put down an electrical device, I used to have an old Flip camcorder though it was good, if you didn't have the rechargeable battery that came with it. It would devour ANY AA batteries you put in, even the Energizer Lithium Ion ones stood no chance. Anyway the Flip camcorder had to go so it meet my S&W 500 at the time...blew the s{beep} out of it devilsmile.gif .

Last thing Khajiit will say about that tax thing: it’s ridiculous. Must be a pain in butt to try and enforce too.

On shooting cell phones: Khajiit thinks we all probably would love to do this.

Agreed. On both counts.

Except enforcing isn't hard. They have the overhead to do it.

I have plenty of cell phones lying around I could shoot... but bf wants me to toss them in the electronic waste bucket to take to the recycling center.

Darn green Swedes.

Maybe Miro can use them for target practice?

I went out and shot my new Daniel for the first time. Wow, it is a big difference from shooting 5.56! Now I see what Hickock45 means about loving to throw big lead down the range. It kicks a lot more than my Sig, and jumps more after each shot. I can usually keep my cheek down solid on my Sig with every shot. But the Daniel jumps off about an inch every time. It's like shooting a truck out the barrel.

The charging handle is feeling better now, though it is still harder to pull back than my Sig. I am also getting used to the bolt catch on the right side. I like the placement on that side, but it is up rather high. I have to really stretch my finger to reach it, and then it takes a lot of strength to push it down.

The safety however, is really smooth to thumb on and off. My Sig's was really stiff at first. It took a lot of use before it got easy to use. The trigger is nice and smooth too. It is about the same as my Sig. It is like squeezing butter and then Boom!

I really like the full-length handguard the Daniel has. It let me try out using the C Clamp shooting style, with left arm fully extended, thumb over the barrel, and forefinger pointed forward along the barrel. It felt really good. Basically you are pointing at your target, so you have your body's sense of proprioception working for you. The downside is that it tired out my left arm a lot faster than the normal way of gripping does.

As usual, some holes in the paper. It took some rounds to get the vortex sighted in.

.308 makes much bigger holes. This should be enough to stop a Deathclaw.

My iron sights have not come in the mail yet. So it is all with the optic.

It's only sixty shots with some of those going into the same hole at full range, there's nothing to fear there laugh.gif.

Here is a pic of Stormcrow's pieces, all shiny and freshly oiled up

One thing I like about it is that the firing pin retainer pin is not a separate cotter pin, like it is on my Sig. Instead it is built into the bolt carrier. It slides in and out one side, but never comes all the way out.

Not smart as chances for them getting stolen is sky high. Then you run into the risk of cops rubbing it in your face.

Maybe I should use the name Stormcrow for my Sig, since its a 5.56 and the Stormcrow is a medium mech. The .308 should have a heavier mech name. Maybe Mad Cat.

His dad has a few rifles but I can't shoot them. He used to go for moose every year.

Had one in sight a few years back. Could have taken him so easily, he just stood there with his right side facing me for like 20 minutes. Didn't shoot though as I am only permitted to shoot youngens and only for the first three days of the season.

Went .22 yesterday evening. Nice weather. I wanted to exercise the gun a bit plus get rid of some of my lead covered ammo. I prefer using the fully copper plated ones, less residue in the barrel. It would matter more if I had a semi auto, but I still prefer the plated ammo.

Speaking of cleaning, Khajiit just bought a new cleaning kit!
mirocu
My cleaning kit consists of three bore snakes and a bottle of Ballistol tongue.gif
Sakiri
I didn't use my bore snake much mostly because after I left CA, I didnt have a long gun to clean(shotty was ex bf's).

Instead I had a rod designed for handguns. And oil. And cleaning solution. And brushes and patches and fluffy things.

I'd clean and oil just for the sake of cleaning and oiling. My guns were in pristine bleeping condition and were going to stay that way.
TheCheshireKhajiit

This one lol’ed

The kit Khajiit just bought had parts for all kinds of guns! Rifles, shotguns, and handguns of most calibers and gauges. Got several wire brushes, some swabs, and some of the “fluffy things” Sakiri mentioned. Didn’t come with oil or solvent but this one already has some Remington brand gun oil and is sure he can easily find solvent solution somewhere in town.

Same here at least for the rifle. pistols get the rod.
SubRosa
My cleaning kit is two bore snakes (one for 5.56, one for 30 cal), a bottle of ballistol, a couple of rags, a little pick-like tool (that I use on the 5.56 to get the firing pin retaining pin back into the bolt carrier), a toothbrush, and a cat m4 tool. Plus an old towel to lay down across the table when I do my cleaning.
Sakiri
I find cleaning very therapeutic personally. Just like shooting.
