Yeah, that's what I think I'd prefer too. Though I do like a pure pistol grip smile.gif

One thing I like about the foregrip is there's a hidden compartment to put your tool in and makes the rifle look lethal. I might buy my Dad one.

I have finally tried my Allen&Thurber pepperbox which I believe is in .31 caliber. A bit more of a pain to load than the .44 Remington since it doesn't have a loading tool built in like the army revolver does. Had to work with a loose ram rod. Also, since the nipples are not so easily replaced, meaning the original ones are still there, it was a wee bit harder to get the caps to seat properly. The result was the gun didn't always go off when supposed to.

I did however managed to shoot twelve rounds through it, meaning one reload, and the second time went a little bit better. With more practice I suspect I could get it to fire all six rounds first try. But as it is I'm now sending it back to the guy for a proper cleaning. Like the army revolver, the pepperbox is first and foremost a collectible and I don't want to mess around with it too much.

After 150 years I don't want to be the guy who breaks it! wink.gif

History amazes me sometimes. Not matter how old you get you always learn something new.

I saw this video when I had purchased my pepperbox. The guy uses the exact same version I got smile.gif

I relate my firing issues to the nipples. They were quite corroded and thus it was difficult to seat the caps properly which is necessary for reliable operation. Still, all you need to do is keep pulling the trigger and get to the next chamber which is the true beauty of this gun. No need to c.o.c.k the hammer in a stressful situation. And next time you get to the same chamber it probably will fire, having been seated previously by the hammer smile.gif

New item of interest; a Colt Army 1860 in .44.

Spensive of course and I may not get it before someone else does. I do want it though as it is a little bit special. It was snatched by a Confederate which can be proven by the fact the gun has a lanyard which was forbidden by the Yanks.

Also I don't have a Colt yet so it's due smile.gif

Sexy looking pistol.
mirocu
Indeed, Reaper!

Tell you the truth, I'm not particularly fond of Colt's design here. I think Remington had the superior design and I know I'm not alone having this opinion. The Remington is way easier to work with, but I do want me a Colt too. I only need the funds... smile.gif

Father and Son Hi-Point Pistols. The big one's mine its a 45ACP. the smaller one is a .380 Auto and belongs to my Daddies.

I traded my Hi-Point Rifle to get my Dad that pistol but in return he'll help me buy a new .44 Magnum.

Of the Hi-Points I did like the rifle the best, too bad you got rid of it. Not that it gained me you having it, but still... tongue.gif

Trust me selling that rifle was no major setback. I can buy it back real quickly and not break the bank, that's the beauty of Hi-Points. Still doing that deed for my Daddies will help me buy a new .44 Magnum biggrin.gif .

I traded my Hi-point 45 pistol to put that .44 in layaway, I'll get it out probably the 1st of October and yes it is a beaut' and the wooden grip was REALLY nice.

You don't seem to be the type of guy who gets attached to his guns, Reaper? I guess it's because you can get how many you want and whenever you want with little effort.

Now now, name calling is unnecessary tongue.gif

Khajiit is too practical. This one doesn't see a need for more than a couple guns. They are tools to do a job, and Khajiit already has a solid choice for close range. Would like to get a mid range rifle though, but if it can't be an SKS (which is what this one really wants), then we will make do with the shotguns.

I'm not bummed about losing the 45 Hi-Point, trust me I can buy that gun back quick. The only gun I might be attached to is the .44 Magnum. Its powerful and I can legally carry it out in public well I could the 45 but I need to upgrade my Conceal Carry License. The 500 I wasn't to impressed with just a noisy .44 if you ask me. I would have kept the Kriss Vector if only I bought it as a rifle and not a pistol.
Anyway you think I'm bad at keeping guns you should see my Dad with cell phones like father like son tongue.gif.

You need to go to Mustang Oklahoma and go to Big Boys Guns and Ammo, They have SKS rifles out the wazoo.

Might try seeing if one of the places around here could order one. That would probably add to the price though and by that point Khajiit could probably afford an AK just as well.

That's my Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 Magnum. It's still in layaway but I ask the clerk if I could see it to take a picture of it. Although I don't favor wooden grips, I do like how this one feels, just thank the divines I have shooter gloves or else this gun is going to hurt my hand like the dickens.

Is it supposed to look like a cowboy gun?

Most single action revolvers look like that, the only downside to that is there's no muzzle break and the end so that gun's going to kick like a mule. Won't be the first Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 Mag I own.

Oh ok! Khajiit was expecting a modern double action.

I had a double action .44 Magnum from Taurus, that was a nice shooting gun. The worst magnum I owned was a .44 Magnum Desert Eagle, I DO NOT recommend wasting money on one they suck.

That's the one thing I love about that revolver is the grip, it has a thumb rest and makes gripping the gun comfortable. Only thing I don't like is its made of wood so recoil is going to be nasty, thank the divine that I have shooters gloves.
mirocu
Anyway, it does look nice. I take it it's a .45?

I'm getting paid in a few days and I'm probably going to get back my 45acp pistol. That's the one thing I like about Hi-Points, they may cost you your dignity but at least it easier to buy them back.

I think next paycheck I might try to either buy another AK-47 (or an SKS) or if the gun store still has it the 45.ACP Hi-Point Rifle that sucker was awesome to shoot and accurate. If not a rifle then a .44 Mag.

Using the 2nd amendment like a BOSS! cool.gif

Test fired my thirty-ought the day before yesterday. Not using any scope this time since I want other attachments to bring the scope further back. Plus, after having fired my .22 levergun this summer only using iron sights I sort of have taken a liking to it. Anyway, one shot at that green bird = one hit. Good enough. A deer is quite a lot bigger tongue.gif
