In the meantime, this is a pistol I would get if I could. Not because it's a beut but it's one of the most decent looking ones at this website I'm looking at.

#pewpewlife

That is a good looking pistol! What is the caliber?

Looks like a cool gun! What caliber?

Oh it'll get used this deer season. Now to get a hunting license.

Love this gun. If only I could I'd get it myself.

Have a new favourite pistol. 9x19, 18 rounds.

I have the funds on my side but not the law, so it will continue being a dream kvleft.gif

Yeah. Though it's a competition variant, I could make it work for defensive purposes biggrin.gif

Did some shooting yesterday! Khajiit and Mrs. Khajiit went out to an open part of the property with her dad. We shot an M1 Carbine, a 30-30 pistol that had a scope in it (that thing was insane, lol), a .308 bolt action, and of course Khajiit’s 9mm. That M1 carbine was neat, but it shoots strange ammo (.30 carbine or 7.62x33mm). We were shooting at a paper target that highlighted where different organs are, and Khajiit picked up the carbine and put two in the heart and one in the brain. Never shot it before. Very nice shooting gun.

I can't wait to shoot it but right now it's just a bit too cold outside. Maybe I'll set up a range in the garage.

It

Can't. At least not without getting interrogated on why I need it and why I don't get rid of another gun before getting this one. Not to mention paying the application fee while risking an almost definite denial regarding getting the license sad.gif

Aww ok then

My Dad wants the same thing only in .357 Magnum.
mirocu
That's what that is too

Wish I could go for it but then again; a bit pricey and too risky.
mirocu
Just a question for you guys who can actually get either. What you think is the better choice for home defense; an autoloading pistol or a revolver?

Best thing I can get if we're talking non-lethal is a .68 T4E revolver. Maybe I should get that, if I can trade it for the other marker I got which frankly is too big and bulky. Also, if I get the .50 revolver instead I can get a holster for it. Both incidentally have pepperballs availabe as well as glassballs which sounds good to me.
Dark Reaper
I think in March I'm getting this.
mirocu
And I might go for that levergun in 357/38 if by some strange luck they eased up on the rules. Which not gonna happen.
TheCheshireKhajiit
The thing about home defense is that most criminals are going to run away when they have a firearm of any sort leveled their way. For the ones that will stand and fight, I think revolvers are technically more reliable. An autoloader *can* jam, but revolvers are generally slower to reload unless you use speed loaders. Really just a matter of what you are more comfortable with. I will say that I love my S&W 9mm autoloader.
mirocu
Well, I don't fancy myself a gunslinger so I don't see myself in an extended firefight anyway. I just thought about the pros and cons of each. I am aware of them but I just like to know from people who actually use them. Personally and theoretically I'd go with an autoloader, but a revolver would be fine too. And more fun to practice with smile.gif
Acadian
Given those two choices, mine is a revolver. No safety to fiddle with, less moving parts to jam, no question as to whether there is a round in the chamber. Simple.

That all said, for home defense, my first choice is a short (but legal) pump action 12 gauge shotgun. I should think its unmistakable sound of simply chambering a shell is enough to make most intruders wet themselves and run.

Quoted for the truth, lol
I certainly wouldn’t be lingering in a place if I just heard that!
mirocu
I've actually heard cops say that too. Simply racking the slide is often enough.

None of you went with an AR-15 then? I certainly would if I could.

If you weren’t concerned about over-penetration then that would probably be fine. Personally, if I were going to get a rifle, I would want it to be useful for hunting deer as well as protecting the ol’ farmstead. That’s why an SKS is so appealing to me. I like the “classic rifle” look, the magazine is only ten rounds which should be plenty in most cases, and I’ve read that the 7.62 round is more reliable than 5.56 for deer hunting. Plus, they look like a blast to just shoot! The only thing that would concern me is that it might be difficult to find the ammo where I live. Not really sure, but it doesn’t matter anyway since I don’t have the funds for one, lol.

Which is why I want that levergun. It's also 10 rounds; good for homesteading and hunting smile.gif

I have the funds and the law on my side, but not the police. Somehow they can go against the law simply because they feel like it and fighing them in court is costly. Only chance is for me to sell my .22LR first and THEN I might have a better chance to get the license.

But… but… 22LR is just a step up from a BB gun! We were carrying those around when we were 10 or so, lol

And that could potentially be my case for getting the 357/38 levergun; I need something between the .22LR and the .30-06 biggrin.gif

Good choices!

I still don't know what to get myself week after next. A vulcan airsoft minigun or go to a gun store and buy a nice 5.7 pistol.

Thanks! I could actually get the two long guns but that would require me to sell two other guns that I already have and I don't want to do that.

5.7? That sounds like an odd caliber?

I think THIS will be my new airsoft rifle! It looks like the Intervention but in bullpup format and it was in the game The Division 2.

Best of all it's a green gas bolt action Sniper Rifle. That's going to be a fun little bugger to shoot.
mirocu
I'm looking to mayhaps get this revolver in .68 at some point. Already have ammo for it but will also be getting some pepperballs and a holster.

Best part of this revolver is that it can be perpetually loaded but the CO2 isn't punctured unless you hit the knob on the butt, meaning you can always be ready but the gun isn't under constant pressure.

If I do end up getting it, I'll post another post biggrin.gif

Well my FAMAS came in today and well----you get what you pay for. I guess for simple target shooting and not to scare the neighbors with my GBB airsoft I guess it gets the job done.

I might get an upgrade on my next check. I should have gotten it instead but life got in the way of happiness again.
mirocu
I've sort of developed a liking to the .45-70 but I'm not too fond of the buckhorn style sighting, and I don't want to ruin the look of it with a scope. I guess I could learn to like it and use it but I seriously would like a muzzle break or at least a porting.
