Welp, Khajiit is soon to be the proud owner of a 9mm semiautomatic handgun. Went and put one on layaway today. And they had an SKS!!!!!

It did not come with iron sights, which surprised me, so it is a good thing I bought the Vortex a few weeks ago. I think I am going to go to Magpul's website and buy some flip up front and rear sights so I have a backup. Reading the rifle's description on Daniel's website, it says it can take a SR-25 magazine, so I will probably buy one of those from Magpul as well. The rifle came with a Magpul 20 round pmag as it is.

I just got it, so I have not shot it yet. But I already changed out the buttplate with an alternate one it came with that fits into my shoulder better. It also came with these little wing things for the charging handle that I will try putting on. But that will have to wait until I take it apart, wipe it down, and re-oil it. I can't get at the tiny little screw holes for them with the rifle assembled.

I also noticed that the charging handle is really stiff. It is a lot harder to pull back than my Sig M4. Maybe that will clear up once I wipe off the packing grease and re-oil it.

Anyway, now I am ready for those Deathclaws and Albino Radscorpions!

I took it apart and wiped down the packing grease. Except for the barrel. I forgot I only have a 5.56 bore snake. So I ordered one today, along with a second magazine and a set of iron sights.

I tried changing out the little wings on the charging handle, but I stripped one of them, and could not get the original off. Naturally it was the one on the left side (which I use the most). So I just left the originals on.

The charging handle is still stiff, though not as bad as it was last night. Maybe I just need to work it a bit to smooth it out.

Khajiit suspects the charging handle will get better with use.

I used to, from my uncle's store. Some jurisdictions can't be mailed to.

I have never bought ammo online. When I go shooting, I prefer to buy the ammo I am going to use at the range. That way I don't have any ammo with me driving there and back. That gives the police less opportunities to hassle me if I am pulled over.

I never went to pro ranges. Usually a spot out by the river bar, shooting into the high embankment.

Put out a sheet to catch casings and ship em to my uncle to reload.

If I lived out in the country I would just go in my back yard and shoot, like hickock.

Ok so just one gun today. They did still have the SKS but Khajiit spent more money this paycheck than he wanted to so, no SKS. This one asked them to notify me if they still have it in another couple of weeks, that we are interested in it, but Khajiit suspects we will have to check up on it ourselves.

Here is the gun. It’s a Smith & Wesson M&P 9 Shield Performance Center. They had a brand new standard version of the S&W M&P 9 Shield for $379 that Khajiit really likes the feel of, but then he saw this version in the used gun case. It has a ported slide and better sights than the standard version and they were selling it for $399.

It fits Khajiit’s tiny guy hands quite nicely!

Haven’t bought any ammo for it yet so that’ll be next. By then hopefully this one will have a place to shoot it lined up.

OOOOOOO....an MP Shield! Keep that thing! My Dad and I had the .45ACP cousin and that thing shot like a dream.
He has Rugar 9MM and he LOVES it.

Yes Khajiit feels he is going to be quite pleased with this purchase. Hickok did a video on this version compared with the standard version and said he liked the sights on this one, saw maybe a little bit of improvement in muzzle climb because of the ports, but preferred the trigger on the standard over this one. Said for the money he’d stick with the standard version, but usually the extras on this gun are more than the $20 extra that Khajiit put into it so we feel like we got a good deal.

I like the M&P series guns. I had a standard M&P40, well, CA compliant that is. So 10 round mags. T.T That btw KILLED the resale value of it when I sold it before moving to Sweden. No one wants a gun with 10 rounders. I paid almost 750 for it and only got 240 when I sold it.

Lol, this one came with a straight stack 8 round mag and a 7 round mag. Khajiit doubts he’ll try to sell it.

I might have misspoke about owning a MP shield .45ACP. I think it was a .40 Cal. MP shield which still shot nice.

They had a .40 Shield too. Khajiit opted for the 9mil because the ammo is supposed to be cheaper.

In CA when I bought it, you couldn't find 9mm, .45 or .22 to save yourself. .223 was expensive as balls. It was insane.

This was 2012 or 2013 now? Last I'd heard though you still can't get bulk boxes of .22 in most of the northern part of the state.

Heh, the place I got this gun had a whole counter front filled with all kinds of .22 rounds. Long rifle. Shorts. Several different brand names

Oh ok. Hmm Khajiit doesn’t remember seeing bigger boxes but that doesn’t mean they weren’t there.
