Witness of the execution

This is a new thing for me in Point Lookout. As you approach Herzog's mine, the scripted execution occurs up there, I was lucky to spot it. If you search the victim's remains, you find out that his own brother killed him because he stole from their family.

I saw this too and on my very first trip to Lookout biggrin.gif

Nice PL pics overall. They´ll set me up for when I go there in the later part of autumn biggrin.gif
SubRosa
The Calvert Mansion is definitely one of the creepier looking places in Fallout 3.

I have come across that execution before, but never actually saw it happening. I heard the shot, and looked up to see the body fall down the cliff. I never saw the guy who killed him though like in that pic!

You found the crashed jet. There pilot is not too far away, hanging from a tree by his parachute.

Lopov –

Keeping the streets safe?

Wow, Smuggler’s demise is a fabulous action shot!

Ally on the table – Hey, short girls gotta hop up onto things to get better shooting angles. Or so I’m told. wink.gif

Aww, playing with the kid and the gnome. happy.gif

That hat looks good on Ally!

My goodness! Ally found a crashed jet in the middle of Dementia! blink.gif laugh.gif

Point Lookout has pretty weather.

Watching over the water caravan looks fun. That's what I'd do if one of mine was on PC.

Awww, Miss Green Hair still plays with ... wait, never mind!

Whoa, "here it comes" is right...

Time to play some Fallout

What a neat story you show and tell here of Hecate and Liberty Prime on the march. Uh-oh. . . hell hath no fury like a girl who just lost her giant robot pal. ohmy.gif

The two shots that stand out the most to me the most in this set were Hecate running side by side with Liberty Prime and that spectacular Ground Zero shot! You nailed it entirely with this one shot, what a moment that was! - THIS is how crossing that bridge behind Liberty Prime looked to me the first time I played it; with the massive explosions from the helicopters and cars all around and parts flying everywhere (of course on a smaller scale because it wasn't enough to kill Liberty Prime in that battle).

That shot with Hecate and Liberty Prime - she somehow looks the same size as him in that screen, but it has to be a trick of the distance from the camera causing that because a few shots later you see the troops looking like ants around Liberty Prime's feet.

The epic battles in Fallout 3 were what set it apart from any other game I've ever played in my life; and you really captured the essence of that in this one screen so well!!!

All these shots are great, but that shot goes down as one of my all time favorites.

One thing I missed seeing ... is Hecate not going to climb over the hill behind Liberty Prime's severed head and find that unique gun off the map?

Now THAT I remember! rollinglaugh.gif I must have missed my footing a thousand times to get that gun and had to save and reload the whole way up to keep progressing, lol.

** EDIT - I missed a couple things = Hecate looks so sad when Liberty Prime is killed; and I felt that way when it happened too, so ... very apropos screen, I loved that!

The other was the Dunwich building shot - Urk! That place gives me the creeps! You gave a good impression of it in that shot, it is horrible!

Child and Child at Heart

Old man Herzog and his hat on Ally's head

Crashed Jet

These are all such great shots for capturing the mood of Point Lookout! That Inn ALWAYS has some varmit that needs wiping out around it, but where else can one sleep while in Point Lookout?

LOVED Ally on the table! Oooh, and she got a Tribal!

This execution is something I have yet to see in Point Lookout, I knew nothing about it!

Kenny! I hope Ally found his teddy bear for him!

Yep, old man Herzog most def hung himself; but he left a good hat and a bottle of moonshine for some nice person to find when they come along, (if they make it through the Mirelurks, lol).

That crashed jet is just loaded with loot scattered around it, but the ghouls nearby don't make scarfing it all up very easy!

Great shots, you have an amazing knack for capturing the mood fo that place - one of my least favorite of the DLC because of that mood, lol.

Lopov
My favorite shots are those showing the orbital strike and the destruction which follows, it almost looks like another game. I'll definitely use Ground Zero as a background on my laptop in the future. Woe to the Enclave, Hecate now has a new grudge against them.

Point Lookout is indeed similar to Dementia at some points.

She found his teddy indeed.

Speaking of places to sleep, Ally actually never slept in the Homestead Motel, mostly because of The Blanket mod which allows you to sleep anywhere and most of the time she crashed at Haley's place.

Here it is. Enjoy.

Point Lookout Police Department featuring its prime and only officer

Main purposes of the PL PD are:

Keeping you safe from 'lurks

Eliminating dangerous inbreds

Investigating strange plants

Keeping an eye on the local tribe

Establishing contact with transcendent beings

Cooperating with pre-war secret agents

Demonstrating that animals can be friends (thanks to the Animal Friend perk cool.gif )

It's a risky work, though. Even the most brave officers of the PL PD (in fact its only officer) can't save manors from exploding.

Officer Gator is in charge! Can we bribe her with Fancy Lads Snack Cakes? wink.gif

After those pics, I think I have been Scared Straight! biggrin.gif

HaHa!! Officer Ally!!! These are great I love seeing her performing her duties! I never thought about the animal friends perk helping me enter the inn without being molested by vicious dogs! Great update, and a fun intro to them!

Lopov
Thanks folks.

Ally the police officer about to investigate the lighthouse

Quite a view

Desmond, polite as always

Ally & Desmond in action

Desmond dies

Now that was a surprise, I thought that he's essential until you meet Calvert, even the Wiki says he is. However, I think I know what's the reason for Desmond losing his essential status. In the previous quest, Ally briefly sided with Calvert and when she later reunited with Desmond in the lighthouse, the quest objective popped up to either kill Desmond or cooperate with him. Ally decided to work with him but looks like that didn't make him essential again.

The robot that killed Desmond, steps on Ally's mine

Lethal force authorized

Mr. Brain a.k.a Professor Calvert "in person"

Calvert joins Desmond

Case closed.
Acadian
Never a dull moment for Officer Gator.

'Quite a view' indeed. . . I see what you did there. wink.gif

Desmond looks killable just for his looks.

Hunting robots – some disassembly required.

And relaxing with a ciggie after a hard day on the beat. tongue.gif
SubRosa
That is quite a view. And the interior of the lighthouse looks good too! hubbahubba.gif

Wow, Desmond killed by someone other than the player character? That never happens in my games! laugh.gif

Ally is really laying down the law in these pics. Criminals, ghouls, and brains beware!
mALX

Quite a view is quite a view!

Desmond - I've never seen that dialogue, that is funny!

Wow, Desmond is fighting beside her! He usually let my character do all the fighting and somehow he lived through everything, lol.

Desmond dies? I thought he was essential till you get to Donovan's Calvert's brain! How do you complete the quest without him? Is it quest failed?

The mine and Lethal force authorized = thumbs up !!!!

Wait, how does the quest finish out if both are dead before it does?

Officer Ally with the cigarette is my favorite !!!

Great shots !!!

On the Old Olney shot - if you climb up to the top ledge of broken floors and work your way around you will find an easter egg with the teddy bear and gnome! I think it is in the SW corner as you enter the building, but ... not sure which direction the building is facing, so could be wrong.

The Tesla coil! The first time I saw it I was scared of getting eviscerated by it, lol.

Wait, is she drinking a beer or is that opera glasses? laugh.gif

Did you give Tanya that armor? How do you do that? She is so pretty, I'd love to be able to tap/nab that face in the char gen!

GAAAH, isn't this ant queen in New Vegas Boomer maintenance room? Where is this?

Agatha !!! rollinglaugh.gif I love the pose with the bottle!

Can I ask you - on that mod, do you write down the codes for the poses you like best and keep the list nearby so you can use them in game? I have downloaded the mod with the playbook, but couldn't find any instructions on how to use the poses other than using console commands.

Great update, I had forgotten a lot about Broken Steel till seeing your screens! I need to go ahead and finish a game again, have not finished one out since I've been on the PC game; keep restarting new games.

Really love the shot of Hecate drinking a Honningbrew and watching the fights. Even a barbar pole in the background!

And in the last shot, they have bards in the wastelands? tongue.gif
Lopov
Ouch, Old Olney, that's a dangerous place. I assume that the building in the first pic is accessible with the Broken Steel, I only vaguely remember these quests.

Tesla Coil looks like an oversized tin can.

In the lair of the AA is my favorite shot from this set. Tanya looks much better in your game than in the vanilla version, for a second I thought that she's now Hecate's companion.

Agatha's music is always a good choice. Especially with a mod that adds more songs to her radio station.

As soon as Desmond died, the objective changed to "Talk to the Professor". Ally never got a chance to talk to him, though, because as soon as she placed some plasma mines close to his non-yet-active Protectrons, they exploded and Calver in the jar went hostile.

By finishing the main quest in Point Lookout, I'll take a break from Ally's game for some time. Instead I'll try to roleplay a bad guy in the Capital Wasteland, which probably won't be easy because I'm not good at RP-ing baddies anymore, but let's hope for the best (or the worst). Deeno (the coming character) will be motivated by caps instead of being just plain evil, this should make it more interesting than to RP an evil madman.

I've always had trouble RP'ing an evil character; so to get those achievements I used Bubba RP'ing a mercenary too - couldn't make myself murder innocents; but stealing from owned containers does the trick, lol.

I also didn't like having the people I normally work with hunting my character and trying to get my finger (Regulators) - that bothered me worse than the stealing itself did, lol.

So wait, when the brain went hostile, did it fail the quest or end it properly? I don't remember ever talking to Calvert before going in the bunker with Desmond because I thought you couldn't get in there till the house blew up.

I'm completely lost about what happened there, but find it very cool to see a different ending to that quest than the way I've always seen it, lol.

Really enjoyed that !!!

That first pic inside the huge building is one of the new areas in Old Olney added by Broken Steel. It is one of the neatest looking places in the game. I just love how many floors it has, and how the center of the building has all fallen in.

Hecate now has 31 Deathclaw Hands in her inventory. They were not all from Old Olney though. She has racked up quite a few from Enclave outposts.

I have never been able to play an evil character either. The nearest I get is probably Persephone, who can be ruthless and short-tempered at times. Like the first she walked into Riften, and Maul made the mistake of saying "You'd better walk away," when she tried to ignore him. Almost half the Thieves Guild died in the confrontation that followed.

mALX, you can use the OpenTeamMateContainer 1 command to look in any character's inventory, and give or take things from them. I use it all the time to arm the Wastelanders I come across, especially those Super Mutant captives I release. I give them miniguns and assault rifles, and armor if I can.

I had to use the desk (from another mod) as a container because I didn't have any open FO3 files and the container the items were in was pointed to a file I didn't have - probably because my game is set up in C:/Games/Steam/etc. instead of the regular place.

The container was pointing to Meshes/Clutter/Junk; and the only thing I had in there was Prewar money.

The only item that did not show up was the Blue Scientist, when I put it on my body disappeared; but that is very likely a conflict with my body mod.

Once the first plasma mine exploded and Calvert ordered Protectrons to attack Ally, the objective "Talk to the Professor" changed to "Kill the Professor" and when he was dead, the quest completed normally. Afterwards it was upon Ally to reward herself, normally Desmond gives you the key which unlocks the room with rewards but this time she unlocked it by herself.

Yesterday at night I created Deeno, the evil mercenary. I created two unique weapons for him, namely Deeno's Sniper Rifle and Deeno's Silenced 10mm Pistol, both are more durable and deal more damage than their regular counterparts but they're heavier. His armor of choice is Road Rascal Leather Armor which was cut from the vanilla game, it looks the same as standard leather armor but gives a boost to Endurance and Agility.

Here is Deeno's ID, written in the same way as characters on the Fallout Wiki are represented.

Deeno arrives to the Capital Wasteland

Located directly on the western border, the closest location straight east is Little Lamplight.

Sniper at work

Most of the time he aims at their heads, fortunately muties have big heads.

He's handy with a gun too

It's not visible in this pic, but his pistol looks like this, not like the standard 10mm pistol.

Safety measures

Deeno placed a mine to the "entrance" of the abandoned house in case anyone'd try to sneak up on him while sleeping.

I guess not, due west of Lamplight it is then, and Deeno is already killin' muties and molies.

Thank you for explaining how those quest changes worked on the fly that way, that is awesome! I am seriously considering trying that out just to do something different next time. How did you get to see Calvert before the explosion though? Is it when you are planting that signal jammer on the ferris wheel and he speaks to you or did you actually get to enter the bunker early?

Anyway, it sounds like a more exciting way to play it, for sure!

Oh, really nice the way you put a rap sheet up on him! That scavenger is in the abandoned house small subdivision below the Jury St. Metro, urk! I like that one, lol. (at least they've always been nice to my character). Well they respawn there.

Will Deeno be knocking off those traveling merchants to get the keys to the packs on those cows?

His gun looks wicked with that silencer on it!

Oh, a Sasparilla crate! I would love to see that! Downloaded, thank you so much for these! As you can see, I had a blast trying on all the clothes, lol.

That is Misa, and even if she looks deadpan in the face she enjoyed it too. She absolutely loves hats for some reason; and that mod is full of them!

The construction hat and Pilot hat - I don't think I've ever seen them before, but they look Awesome on her, and I can see them becoming her favorite hats to hang out in, but on maneuvers she is wearing the recon rasberry beret now.

When I got all done trying on and taking screens of almost all the clothing on her, I realized I should have put a weapon in her hands for the shots and captured them as well; doh! There were already a ton of screens, so I figured in her gameplay shots in the future the weapons will be coming out - especially the melee ones, they sounded wicked!

Oh, it is those tunnels from the Capital bldg! I had forgotten all about them till my last Fallout game when I stumbled on them and thought I'd found something I'd been missing - then recognized it and remembered it from doing Broken Steel a long time ago.

laugh.gif Yep, most def a great caption shot!!!

But I absolutely did not remember that Adams Air Force Base till you referenced it, and I looked it up to see who you were blowing up there, lol. I did recognize it when I saw the deathclaw shot though, remember finding a ton of flamer fuel there and a big hanger or air craft carrier (or something of that sort) that you have to clear - and actually had some alien power cells in it - and one dorm room full of Enclave that I tried to kill in one shot using the Experimental MIRV - ended up blowing myself up 15 times before giving up, lol.

OMG, does Hecate have some device that turns the modified deathclaws to her side?

Oh, you have a shot of it! That is it = The Enclave Mobile Base Crawler; that is what I'm talking about!

I really need to play that DLC again!

Oh, this is so cool; she got the deathclaw inside the crawler? How did she do it? That is AWESOME !!! Oh, that is amazing !!! And that is probably one of the dorm rooms I was talking about trying to blow up with the MIRV, lol.

What a relief the Brotherhood finally made it, dear gods what took them so long? Weren't they ahead of you in the tunnel? Er...I'm thinking of that Rockland Car Tunnel, oops!

What an amazing shot inside the vertibird!

D'aw, Sarah and Hecate look like counterparts in the coming home shot! These are all great shots, I love seeing this DLC again and being reminded of all I'd forgotten about it!

Awesome Update!!!

Lopov
Gee, Ally is nothing compared to Hecate, she got an assignment to protect some dirty swamp while Hecate is in the White House!

Lol @ the hanging skeleton, what the heck was he doing up there.

IIRC, blowing up vertibirds creates a massive explosion that can easily kill you if you're too close.

Hecate & Deathclaw - lovely couple but the worst possible nightmare for the Enclave.

Revenge is a strike best served from the air. goodjob.gif

A fitting conclusion for Hecate's battle against the Enclave. So what's next for the girl in black? I got used to her Power Armor, it doesn't "bother" me as PA usually do. Like for instance I think it doesn't fit Sarah at all but Hecate looks good in it.

I am expecting Deeno to be a dark haired singer. Wouldn't that be a kick in the head? wink.gif

Is that the south west corner of the map that Deeno arrived in? It looks like where the Rockland Car Tunnel is with Broken Steel installed.

I guess not, due west of Lamplight it is then, and Deeno is already killin' muties and molies.
I wanted to name him Dino at first, it's an Italian name, pronounced as Deeno. But naming him Dino and pronouncing it in English would remind me of dinosaurs too much, that's why he ended up as Deeno.

He started straight west of the LL. I used the CoC command to teleport him to the LL, then used tai and tcl to get him far to the west without being attacked.

QUOTE(mALX @ Aug 8 2015, 07:16 PM) *
How did you get to see Calvert before the explosion though?

You see Calvert twice during the MQ, first you encounter him as a holographic projection in the cave north of the Cathedral. When you later report to Desmond, he orders you to place the cogwave jammer atop the ferris wheel but when you get there, Calvert speaks to you over the distance and orders you to destroy the jammer instead, which is what Ally did. Then he instructs you to return to the mansion and says that he has something to show, which is of course the explosion. Then you encounter him for the 2nd and final time in the underground lab beneath the lighthouse

That scavenger is in the abandoned house small subdivision below the Jury St. Metro, urk! I like that one, lol. (at least they've always been nice to my character). Well they respawn there.

Good to know. More stuff for Deeno to practice his shooting. devilsmile.gif

Will Deeno be knocking off those traveling merchants to get the keys to the packs on those cows?

He'll probably leave them alone since he'll need ammo occasionally and some of them are good mechanics as well. Besides, traveling merchants are marked as essential in my game else they get killed too quick.

BOLD = Not exactly accurate. Stalkers will wake you out of a sleep or wait (both); and one time in Fallout 3 I cleared a Raider camp in a subway station mezzanine and had to sleep for an hour to heal up - was jerked awake by a Raider attacking me before the hour was up (and still needed healing).

*

Oh, that is where I have always turned the other way, I didn't know who to trust so always put the jammer on the ferris wheel. Next time I play it through I'm going to do it your way instead, that sounds fun - and a break from the samo!

Wow! Looks like Hecate got a gig with either the Secret Service or the Capital Police.

Aww, they wimped out on not using the name Andrews AFB.

Well there goes my first choice! rollinglaugh.gif

SubRosa
Lopov: Hecate's beat is nothing to brag about. The White House is nothing but a hole in the ground after all! biggrin.gif

There are occasional sparks that come off the ceiling where the skeleton is. So whoever it was, he electrocuted himself, either by accident or by suicide. I missed the sparks because I wanted to get the robot into the pic, and had to take the shot before it moved past.

I think it is time for the Lady In Black to retire to the good life of a knight. After the events of Broken Steel, scavving the wasteland feels rather underwhelming.

mALX: Those tunnels are the Presidential Metro. One links up to the capitol, but the door requires a key, and I could never find one. You can get to them from the utility tunnel underneath the White House. The one with the guy who tried to jump his motorcycle and got stuck in the ceiling.

Hecate has a Deathclaw Control Scrambler that she got from the Brotherhood. You get it in the Broken Steel questline, I think it was after returning from Rockland, and before heading out to Old Olney. You have to ask one of the scribes for it. It makes all the Deathclaws controlled by the Enclave (the ones with the funky headband thing) friendly to you, and follow you around. The wild Deathclaws are still hostile. That is why Hecate is using the Stealth Boy and sneaking in that one pic with the Deathclaw without the control headset.

Hecate didn't get the Deathclaw to follow her inside the crawler. She found another one inside. I just love turning Deathclaws against the Enclave.

Acadian: I guess you are going to win the caption if I ever use that pic!

I am not sure why they changed the name of Andrews. Raven Rock is a real place, and they didn't change the name for it. Though they did change a few other places names. The Smithsonian Air and Space Museum was changed to the Museum of Technology for example.

The last playthrough of FO3 I did earlier this year I found that door in the Capital building and was curious, so I think I used the "Unlock" on it to see what was in there. Once I got inside I recognized the tunnels from my Broken Steel playthrough; but didn't remember that door for some reason. Maybe I took the tunnel in my playthrough too, lol.

I must have missed that deathclaw scrambler the Brotherhood gives you, I don't think I ever had that. But as for turning loose any deathclaws I find and going invisible while they wreak havoc - YES! I LOVE doing that !!!

... GAAAAAAH!!! Persephone is in New Vegas!!! And actually coming from the grave instead of just hearing about it from Doc - very cool RP there!!!

Like Sunny's outfit here, did Persephone give her a new wardrobe?

Lopov did this quest too, and until he explained it to me I didn't remember it - looks like I need to do a Vegas play through, I haven't played it on the PC yet, and bought the PC game last Thanksgiving!

Easy Pete is one of my favorite characters!

OMG, you have me rolling here with Persephone's idea of how to fix the radio!! SPEW !!!!

What weapon does she have in her hand fighting the Powder Gangers? I can't see it well, but it looks like a melee totem staff!

Awesome shots!

Indeed, I forgot about scripted events, I meant that nothing can randomly can wake you up in Fallout, at least it hasn't happened in my case yet unless it was scripted. I would certainly like for raiders to interrupt my sleep at some point.

SubRosa moves to the Mojave...Persephone seems quite relaxed in her own grave. In years she probably got used to having more than just one.

She takes disarming business quite seriously.

Pete vs Persephone; now that's a contrast in skin color.

She fixes the radio in the same way as Gob in the Capital Wasteland. bigsmile.gif

Hope she disarmed a lot of Powder Gangers.

Acadian: It is so nice to actually have a game with an open grave in it to take advantage of for screenshots.

I wanted to get a pic of Persephone fixing the radio, and that banging with the fist animation just struck me as so appropriate.

mALX: Sunny is wearing her default leather. Persephone's sword is European Greatsword, the same weapon she used in the Capital Wasteland.

I love Easy Pete, and his laconic answers. Like when you ask him about the Powder Gangers, and he just says: "Trouble."

Lopov: Persephone remembers watching Gob trying to fix that radio at Moriarity's, so naturally she did the same thing with Trudy's radio! Only she had better luck.

Expect to see much more disarmed bad guys in the future. wink.gif

That Behemoth got me the first time I was innocently collecting Teddy Bears in the wasteland - after that I learned to use that traincar as a shelter from him too, lol.

I really think Bethesda should ave put a pink dress on the Teddy Bear in the cage here though, rollinglaugh.gif

I love the recon shot into Ft. Bannister - one of my favorite places to clear, it takes 3 or more trips to carry all the loot home!

Great shots, and I love the obligatory smoking shot at the end framing the same place Ally stood!

Is that one of Caesar's lances she is using? I have not dared rely on one for my defense, do they work?

This shot of her at the gambling machine is my favorite, I love the pose - and having someone in the next seat too makes the shot just that much better! Is it like the thrones in Skyrim where anyone sittin in them takes on the pose, or did you use the pose command thing?

It must be the dog days in Vegas right now in Vegas, all the Powder Ganger men have their shirts off!

Holy Cow, she got a Deathclaw with just a sword !!!! And so early in the game, how did she do it? AWESOME !!!! On a fight like that, feel free to make a vid of it, that is Awesome !!!!!

Watch out, Caesar, Persephone is coming for you !!!

Awesome shots!

SubRosa
Acadian: Unfortunately for the Power Ganger in that pic, his pila just didn't measure up...

mALX: That is a throwing spear in that first pic. It came with one of the mini-dlcs, I think it is the Tribal Pack. I have the GOTY edition, which comes with all the addons.

That pose sitting at the slots is from the vanilla game. It does it automatically whenever you sit there.

That was the Blind Deathclaw in Primm Pass. I nearly used up all my stimpacks in that fight! Plus Persephone used up about 5 frag mines, and the same number of powder charges, and all those did was get the Deathclaw's dander up!
