One nice thing about a shovel I should imagine is that it doesn't run out of ammo.

Definitely, that's one of its biggest advantages. Joe's Ammo section in his PipBoy is completely blank, he only uses guns to blow up mines but then he puts weapons back or sometime sells them.

Joe Cobb =
"And a crashin' blow from a huge right hand Sent a Nevada fellow to the Promised Land, Big Joe"
Joe is really shoveling out the sheite in Goodsprings! He needs a construction hat. I think one of the dlcs adds one.
Great epitaph for Joe Cobb.
I think that construction hats are available by default, workers in Sloan wear them.

Many things annoy me to death in NV, and one of them is the start of the game. However, the little side quest to help out Barton was really neat and I always enjoyed the change-up at that point.
I agree, I like the mini quest involving Barton. I still vividly remember it when I did it for the first time with my very first FNV character Dyvanche. I was a total n00b back then, I didn't play FO3 before FNV so everything was new to me, I was barely getting used to the game when Barton came up and started shooting, I was both fascinated because of the plot twist but afraid that he's going to kill me.

These are so great, I can't get over him still using the shovel - he is the Molly Hatchet of the male set! These are awesome shots, I didn't remember that quest till you posted these! Did Joe get the stash? Lol. Great update!
HOLY CRAP! I have never seen a Cazador come into Goodsprings, that is horrible! I can't believe you were able to kill it with a shovel! That is amazing !!!!!
I think they are deadlier than Deathclaws, because they usually roam in packs! How long will their poison last?
These shots are amazing, I can't believe you were able to take screens while fighting for your life!!!!
He took some food from the stash up the ridge but he left weapons and ammunition untouched.
I don't know how long their poison lasts but it seemed very long to me as Joe's health was slowly lowering.
I dared to take the pics because I had a good feeling about the winner.

Yes, it's Persephone!
She looks good in Springvale, though somewhat lost. But she quickly found her way around it and found the place in need of cleansing.
Screenshots when we show our characters and enemies behind the corner, are among my favorites, glad you pictured winding up and cutting down.
The headless raider probably wasn't any prettier when he was still alive.
Did the girl in the last pic really think that she can beat Persephone with her lousy Chinese pistol?

Having left Goodsprings behind, Joe headed to Primm, stopping along the way to admire some pre-war panels. Peace didn't last for long, though, since Primm was taken over by convicts and the NCR wasn't in a shape to protect them, though there were plenty of soldiers marching around, hoping for nuclear winter. Well, unlike the NCR, Joe couldn't just stand and watch as convicts control Primm and endanger its residents, so he took the shovel from his back and the party began!
Unfortunately convicts killed Daniel Wyand, a fellow courier whom Joe knew for a long time. In the end he brought law back to Primm (the town's sheriff was killed by convicts) and he chose someone devoted to the town and about as intelligent as himself. Residents of Primm weren't exactly thrilled because of the new sheriff but in the end any law is better than no law.
Right is the way to go"That's good to know" thinks gigantic Joe"I wish I had this car""Now I'll shov...show you!""And all of you!"Convict beware! Someone's behind the dumpster.Well...you've been warned.R.I.P. Daniel WyandPrimm's new sheriff
