Your grass does indeed look fabulous.

You know I like all those old billboard ads in FO!

Oooh, stealthy!

Looks like Hecate has accepted a Terminex contract for Grayditch.

Red sky in the morning, sniper take warning. . . .

Eeep! I can only imagine what Hecate sees through her scope at that range! ohmy.gif

I had the same thought as Wolf - Sittin’ on the dock of the bay. . . . happy.gif
Lopov
Tall grass is nice but it probably makes some enemies harder to spot.

Hecate is the Corvega hostess.

Morning Sniper is a beautiful shot - pretty Hecate, dreamy sunset and post-war green wasteland.

As is Morning on the River, I especially like the reflections. IIRC there's usually a scavenger sitting at that pier.
SubRosa
Winter Wolf: Watching the tide, roll away...

Acadian: I think the ants ate the Terminex guys... laugh.gif But it is good thing that Hecate kills bugs dead.

Red sky at night, sniper's delight. wink.gif

Lopov: The tall grass brings back Oblivion memories, especially those of hunting for mudcrabs in the grass, or trying to find the bodies of the people you killed a minute before.

There usually is a scavenger there, but for some reason s/he was not there. I did find a neat bed nearby, made of a boat propped up against a tree with a mattress beneath it.

What's that, Timmy fell down the well?

Hecate and that ant she killed reminds me of a favorite Space Marine line from Aliens - "Is this gonna be a real stand up fight or just another bug hunt?" tongue.gif

What an adorable. . . thing that is telling his troubles to Hecate. Timmy and the Lassie Morrowind well!

Not a good idea to go bounty hunting for Hecate! ohmy.gif

Popping caps!

Le Chic – Eeep! What a fashion disaster!

Yup, the wasteland looks pretty good with all that SkyBlivion trees and grass.

Dawn patrol is simply a beautiful shot of our dark-haired sniper. happy.gif
SubRosa
Acadian: Greyditch is definitely another bug hunt. One where the bugs breathe fire!

That critter in the first pic is a Molerat. As the name suggests, it is a melding of moles and rats at ten times the normal size created by the American government at Mariposa (where Loviatar worked). It was supposed to be used as a weapon against the Chinese. The idea was to turn them loose in Chinese territory, and leave them to do what moles and rats do - chew through the infrastructure.

The sad thing is that Le Chic is the top of wasteland fashion! kvright.gif

Acadian
I simply love the sniper shots! Between your trees and the rifle scope those shots are just neat as can be!

I laughed over the knife vs rifle.

Aww, another teddy bear for Hecate. It must be her overarching quest to gather teddy bears. tongue.gif
Renee
I am way behind picture-gazing, ahhh! panic.gif

Look at Hactate in a 101 suit. biggrin.gif Cho just did the return to Vault 101 quest not long ago. He wound up killing the Overseer too, which is not the outcome either of us wanted. He wanted to get Amata (and also Butch) out into the Wasteland without killing anyone, but from what I understand this is not possible to do, without also destroying 101.

Ah, I love that Floral Overhaul mod. It doesn't look like it goes too far.

Oh wait, you started Fallout 3 with her. I get it now. I'm slow today. Love the Moonlight Goddess pic. One of my characters (I think it was Marge N. Overra) also took care of that guy in Moriarty's. Good job, Hectate.

Love the sky in "Morning Sniper". How'd you change that?
SubRosa
Acadian: Those trees make this a whole new game for me. I did like the barren, wasteland feel of the original game. But this new arboreal wasteland is a lot of fun too. I often find it reminding me of Cyrodiil. Except of course when I glimpse a Deathclaw though the sniper scope...

She who dies with the most teddy bears wins!

Renee: It is not often you see Hecate in a Vault Suit! Only at the very beginning of the game. She can't wait to get that thing off and slip into something black.

It will probably be a long time before this new version of Hecate goes back to the Vault. That trip is trigged by the main quest, and she is putting it off. The last person she wants to see is dear old Daddy, who ran out on her in the Vault.

I think all the Flora mod really does is replace the models and textures of the existing trees and grass in the game. So it does not really add anything where it wasn't before. It just makes all the dead trees alive.

I changed all the lighting in the game. I started with Fellout, and have been modding that for over a year to get the colors how I like them. I am still working on them. My current version is here on Dropbox

Great shots of Hecate getting some nuka! Love Robbie in his nuka cola colors. Oh, and the Rosie the Riveter style sign in ‘Nuka break again’.

Eeep! Fighting something that uses a fire hydrant as a weapon has to be dangerous! I don’t blame Hecate for switching from her sniper rifle to a really big gurl gun.
Renee
Awesome! I love how today's photo session goes from Nuka breaks to huge, giant bombs going off. I still remember when Cho encountered that Behemoth guy, that was a thriller.

Are we able to freeze the game and roam around (tfc 1) for better screenshots in Fallout 3, like we are in Skyrim?
SubRosa
Acadian: Nuka Cola is the drink of Wasteland Champions! The Rosie The Riveter Nuka Sign is probably my favorite in the game.

Hecate prefers her sniper rifle - and one shot, one kill - to something as clumsy and inelegant as a blaster Fatman. But sometimes you just have to nuke it from orbit, just to be sure.

Renee: Those Behemoths are always exciting! I love the one in Evergreen Mills, because you can turn it loose and watch it rampage through the Raiders!

TFC 1 does work in Fallout 3. It must be the first Bethesda game where it did. That is how I get most of my action shots. Sometimes I get them in VATS as well. You can open the console and use the TM command to remove the menus when you are in VATS mode. Then mash the printscreen button a few thousand times and hope you get at least one good pic out of it.

So am I!

The greenified Capital Wasteland looks really great, at times it's like looking at some other game, not Fallout! The sniper/target shots remind me of some 1st person shooters that take place in jungle.

Love the glowing personality screenshot, at first I thought it's the tail of a radscorpion that's on fire, then I saw it's the Talon merc.

There's no Gojira in FO3 but there's one in FNV, only accessible with console commands, though.

Beyond the World's End - Hecate Sahara.

NukaHec!

The Behemoth fight is a must, great shot as the slim lady fires the fat lady.

Looks like the behemoth still feels his jiblies! bigsmile.gif

Nice series of shots as the bullet passes the wastelander and hits the intended target.

Did she take Button's wig?
Acadian
Love the ‘tour’ of DC that I see in FO3! Hecate taking tickets for the Metro. The moon landing exhibit at the Smithsonian. smile.gif

Gonna need a bigger hammer to fix that satellite relay?

I see Tulip offers a free lifetime warranty. laugh.gif

Traveling with someone to help (Sydney) for a time?

Wasn’t Button our big Shire that belonged to the Chapel of Mara? wink.gif

What fabulous captures of Hecate’s magnificent one shot one kill. salute.gif
SubRosa
Lopov: At times I think I am playing Cyrodiil! But the radscorpions and super-mutants snap me back to wasteland-reality.

She didn't take Button's wig. I never have the heart to do it. The wig is what makes the Button bot. smile.gif

Acadian: Hecate has been spending all of her times in DC lately. So expect to see more familiar sights!

Turns out Hecate's fist was all it took to fix that satellite relay after all! laugh.gif

Sydney is a relic hunter that you can team up with in the National Archives. She will help you recover the Declaration of Independence.

This Button signed the Declaration of Independence! I don't think our beloved four-hooved Button did the same. wink.gif

Our Lady of Hope has seen better days, but love Hecate’s overwatch pose.

A nurse bot with a flamethrower – how clever is that?

Love Hecate’s snarl in 7.62 surgery, as well as her adherence to the sniper’s credo.

Oh noes, Ranger or no, losing your ponytail to a hat is sacrilege! ohmy.gif

Great shot on the mirocu motorbike.

Nice thing about about going to a bar with ghoul babes is that they make Hecate look even better than she already does. happy.gif

Awesome, I shall be playing on PC this summer, posting some screenies here and there, I think. I already know who my first character's going to be.

Ha ha ha okay... "One Shot" would be impossible to get without tfc 1. smile.gif

Whoa, Hectate has a bot follower. smile.gif I think they'd make good followers for you, since they're so slow, you haven't got that usual chance of getting hit in the back.

Is she really riding that bike? Probably just posing, huh? I know this sounds cheaty, but I'm definitely looking into some vehicle mods once I get my first t00n launched. Hey, this game's frickin' hard on Xbox! In ES games we have horses to use for quick escapes, on Xbox Cho's got nothing! panic.gif Good thing his game is not DiD.

Really, you mash PrintScreen? Interesting. I never thought of that! I tend to look for that one perfect (sometimes posed) shot.
SubRosa
Acadian: Everything in the Fallout games has seen better days! laugh.gif

Its a good thing these bots they sold to the general public have flamethrowers, buzzsaws, and lasers. But I guess that is kind of like RL. It is completely legal to own a flamethrower in the US!

I had to take the one pic with the helmet and the armor. She has not worn it since. But Hecate does keep it around in case of really dangerous situations.

Renee: Are you going to restart Cho on the PC? Or go with an entirely new character?

The bots are not really followers. You just turn them on and they go about their robotic business. But it can be handy to walk behind them and let them draw fire!

Hecate is not riding or even actually sitting on the bike. That is the same sitting on ledge pose in this pic. I just stood her on top of the motorcycle's seat and moved the camera around to find the best angle.

There are some rideable motorcycle mods. I tried them, but did not like them. I found it way to hard to control the bikes, and always crashed into things. There is even a flyable Vertibird mod, but I have never tried that one.

More great shots of Hecate’s tour of DC. The White House looks pretty much like ground zero. Neat seeing all the Metro stations; I should think the devs had fun with the underground tunnel system. Nice shot of Hecate walking away from the flames behind her in ‘work is done’. I love her sneaking past Captain Cosmos and his Moon Monkey! And, of course, always enjoy seeing Hecate doing her sniper thing.

Oh, is that a portapotty with the 'occupied' sign lit up in DC Ruins?
SubRosa
Acadian: You should play FO3, just to see what DC looks like in the game. Or New Vegas for the same reason.

That's not a port a potty, it is a Pulowski Preservation Shelter. It is basically a coin-operated fallout shelter. They are all over DC. Naturally they are absolutely no protection, given the number of bodies found in them.

Reflecting pool. Washington’s Phal Monument has seen better days. So has the Capital it seems.

Pulowki’s portapotties didn’t work out so well!

Love Rosey the Nuka Breaker!

Aww, sunset is pretty. . . but lonely.
Lopov
That's a very advanced medic bot - if all healing options are exhausted, you get burned!

I wouldn't mind seeing Hecate in a nurse outfit, though. Too bad there aren't any pre-war left in the hospital.

Looks like she's about to reanimate the mutie.

Wow, she looks great in Reilly's armor (black edition).

Neither "white" nor "house" remain of the White house.

Who does the uniformed corpse belong to in the Taking Aim pic?

Uh oh, she's in Takoma. IIRC there's one of the Behemoths there.

The Mall looks great with more natural lightning and post-war vegetation.
SubRosa
Acadian: I loved that view of Takoma. As soon as Hecate stepped out of the metro and looked up at that hill, I knew that was just begging for a pic.

That is indeed Honest Abe in the background of the taking a break pic. Sadly, he lost his head. But Hecate will eventually get around to getting him a new one.

The Washington Manliness has indeed seen better days, but it is still erect! laugh.gif

Lopov: The med bod slices, dices, and cauterizes!

There aren't any nurse outfits on the Nexus either. Not real ones at least. sad.gif

The White House is definitely a fixer-upper! wink.gif

The uniformed body in the taking aim pic is a Chinese Remnant Soldier. That is from Mama Dolce's, and Hecate had to clean up the Red Menace.

There is no longer a Behemoth is Takoma! wink.gif The artillery that you can call in there really helps, plus all the explosive cars in the parking lot that the mutants are in. It made a big boom.

I am really enjoying the Flora mod. I am glad I decided to give it a try.

Maybe at nighttime she's the Moon Goddess but at daytime she's definitely Fire Goddess! Nice pixies.

If Hecate ever arrives to Skyrim, she won't have troubles with trolls considering the fact that she likes fiery weapons.
SubRosa
Lopov: Hecate found The Burnmaster in that set of pics, so she just had to put it to use torching some mutants.

Hecate using the men’s room!

Wow, something strange – attack of the plungers?

Love the white winter outfit Hecate’s wearing as she has a drink before her trip.

Simulated Alaska looks great! Is that from your mod? I guess there is an Anchorage DLC?
Renee
I really like "Salute the Flag" for some reason. Ha ha look at her up there! salute.gif Moon Goddess is pretty. The actions shots are fun too, I don't always comment on those, but they're fun to look at

Entirely new character. His name will be Major Andrew Holl, though on his army fatigues his name will say "Major A. Holl". laugh.gif That will be his first mod--army clothes. I'm sure somebody out there has made some army clothes, somewhere. He will be just for fun, a way to get acquainted with FO on PC, but in his backstory he will be a guy who wishes America still had an army, and so he runs around like one of these survivalist guys we hear about in our news every so often.

This is the sort of mod Major A. Holl will definitely be interested in. Actually a Jeep would be even better, if you know of anything like this let me know.

He's a Major A Hole! laugh.gif

There are several different types of army clothes. First off there is the Combat Armor, which I believe is US Army standard issue. The Operation Anchorage dlc adds a whole bunch of new Army outfits. There is General Chase's overcoat, Grease Monkey coveralls, and Winterized Combat Armor. Mothership Zeta adds in Winterized Medic Combat Armor. The generic suits of Power Armor are also US Army issue, and have an Army star on them (the Brotherhood of Steel ones have the Brotherhood logo)

I modded in a suit of Marine Corps combat armor, winterized combat armor, and power armor. I can send you that if you like.

I don't think I have seen any drivable land vehicles other than the motorcycles. But I will look for jeeps or hummers.
Renee
Awesome, thanks for all your help, SR. Yes, you can definitely send me those Marine clothes. smile.gif

Today's my daughter's last day of school, and we've been quite busy around the house just having fun, but I hope to sneak off and play some more Fallout 3 later this evening. Last I saw, Cho was in a Talon Company outpost, slowly sneaking in one of its indoor facilities, but ultimately he is headed toward Lamplight Caverns (whatever it's called) and hopefully toward the end of the Main Quest.
SubRosa
I put them both on Dropbox. You can get the Power Armor here, I think I made a male version of the Marine Armor. You can get the Marine combat armors here.
Winter Wolf
How did Hecate go with Sydney? I found that she always died really quickly once I ran into some aggressive Bots. Not that I complained of course- that is one nice 10mm Subby she owns...

Loved the pic on the 'makeshift' overpass to the Statesman Hotel. That pic looked so sweet!

And sitting on the Alaskan simulator while knocking back a cold one. Priceless!

Good luck Renee with the new character.

Hecate and Sydney took the elevator down from the big rotunda room where meet her. That avoided all the super-mutants. Then when we were in the robot-infested area I stayed as far to the right as possible. There are some locked rooms and corridors that bypass most of the defenders in that direction. I think they only had to actually fight one Mister Gutsy and one Protectron the entire time.

Then once you talk to Button you can take the peaceful option with him, and offer to make a forgery of the Declaration. If you do the robots all become friendly, so getting back out again is no problem. Of course you could also take the back way out as well.
Winter Wolf
You did well then. Peaceful negotiations never seem to fall into the ballpark that my characters play in. Even when I take I take a high charisma-speech.

Better open a warm one if heading for Alaska.

After a few busy weeks I'm coming back to Fallout with an elderly courier that was just about to retire but got shot in the head. Pics soon.

Acadian
Great shots! I bet you'll have fun working with the limitations you have built into old Ben. Nice that he's got 'sweetie' and a dog along for company/help at the moment.
Renee
Ah man, the "own grave" pic made me tear up a little. sad.gif The sky is so pretty in these pics.

Yikes, THAT's a gecko in NV? indifferent.gif
SubRosa
Cool ghoul eye. Does it see radiation or anything neat like that?
Lopov
@Acadian - limitations will definitely make his game more difficult, especially because Ben is DiD. He'll get back what was stolen from him or he'll perish in the desert.

@Renee - that's indeed a gecko and one of the smallest of its kind. There are bigger, nastier versions out in the wasteland.

@SubRosa - not sure why it has "ghoul" in its name, but the eye doesn't have anything to do with radiation. It's supposed to be a trace from Benny's bullet.

__

Ben Stevens in a thinking pose - deciding whether to head back home or pursue the man who shot him?

Meeting of the seniors - Ben meets Easy Pete.

But Ben can think of his problems later. Goodsprings is about to be attacked by ex-convicts called Powder Gangers and Ben set up some explosive surprises for them.

Powder Gangers attacked in a middle of the night but Goodsprings militia defeated them - I'm not sure if Ben actually killed a single bandit. laugh.gif I know he had a few lucky hits here and there, and his explosive charges from the pic above crippled some bandit but since he has low perception, he's not an accurate shooter. He's my first character to have such low perception and it really makes a difference.

Ben's trophy from the gunfight - a desperado cowboy hat.

The following afternoon, after bidding farewell to fellow Goodspringers, Ben Stevens left the town, still undecided whether to head back to California or pursue his attackers.

He couldn't know that he'll be back in Goodsprings in less than a day in a company of one very unusual youngster... wink.gif

Acadian
A pensive moment for Ben.

Meeting of the two old men – they just need a checker board. tongue.gif

Pretty neat having a character that might have to rely on others to do some of his fighing.

Oooh – love his new hat! goodjob.gif
SubRosa
Too bad about the ghoul eye. It would have been neat to have a half-ghoul character.

Looks like old Ben is conjugatin' somethin' awful fierce!

Ben might not be a deadshot, but he knows a thing or two about making things blow up! (which come to think of it, is about as American as you can get! laugh.gif)

Ben looks creepy with that dead eye and the hat. But I think its time to upgrade his outfit. A long black duster would look good.
Lopov
@Acadian - Easy Pete finally met someone older than him. wink.gif

Yep, Ben will definitely another hand in the wastes. He'll get it soon...

@SubRosa - he'll probably permanently borrow the sheriff's duster from Primm when he gets there. The other one I'm thinking about is US Army General Outfit but that'd require to at least do a few steps in the Divide which would probably be deadly at such a low level.

Ben Stevens met the kid in need...

...his girlfriend was apparently trapped by geckos on the nearby ridge...

...but in fact the kid tricked old Ben.

Ben likes tricks if they're good but he found this one to be particularly bad...

...so he made sure that the kid would never trick anyone else.

It was time to rest by the warm campfire...

...the following morning Ben wanted to continue for Primm but he heard odd noises coming from the main road. Approaching, he saw what seemed to be another kid in need...
SubRosa
My advice to Ben... shoot every kid in need that he meets! laugh.gif
Acadian
Ahah, a set up – and Ben is kind enough to get roped into it. Grrr.

‘Bad’ is a fabulous action capture. I love all the character that shows on his face – the kind only developed by decades of life. Kid tricked the wrong guy.

I bet the campfire’s warmth feels good to Ben’s old joints.
Winter Wolf
Great to see the pesky wildlife numbers coming down. Good shooting Ben!

I really miss the wide, open feel of New Vegas. Those gecko sounds still haunt my sleep!
Lopov
@SubRosa - oh no, then Ben wouldn't have any company in the wastes. ohmy.gif bigsmile.gif

@Acadian - I agree, his face is almost like "a biography" in its own way.

@Winter Wolf - come back west if you miss us. wink.gif

__

Being a skilled mechanic, Ben Stevens immediately recognized the problem with the kid's motorcycle.

But what he didn't expect, is that the kid who called himself Niner, wanted to get some gas at a nearby Goodsprings gas station. ohmy.gif Like war never happened! After realizing that the gas station is permanently closed and no new gas deliveries are planned, Niner took Ben for a drink at the nearby Yangtze memorial.

It didn't take long for Ben to realize that Niner is a junkie, but a likeable one. After having some whiskey, they returned to the motorcycle but got ambushed. Despite being a junkie, Niner was a damn good shooter with his SMG.

Since both were far away from home, why not travel together?

But taking the road north would be a bad idea...

...and so Ben & Niner headed south.

__

Niner is a custom companion, available on Nexus?, fully-voiced, comes with his own main quest, several side quests and comments on a lot of stuff in the game, not just quest-related but also some ordinary stuff. He calls your character "Six" because you're known as Courier Six in the vanilla game. Having him as a companion makes dogs friendly. That's the short description from Nexus:

Niner is just a regular guy looking for a good time. He likes dogs, alcohol, sightseeing, meeting new people, smashing things, the work of Dean Martin, sunsets and hard drugs.
Winter Wolf
Wow! That close up pic on Ben at the end was so cool! That countenance would haunt dreams.

Good decision to avoid that road up north. I loved scoping that place with my rifle/binoculars just to see how many 'big dang lizards' there were. I stopped counting at six. laugh.gif

Niner looks really neat. Love the head gear.
Acadian
Seven of Nine! Oh. . . I mean Six and Niner. Very cool, Lopov. It seems like the youngster complement's Ben's limitations while hopefully, Ben's seasoned wisdom will help compensate for Niner's apparent rash naivete. . . after all a biker who can't recognize when he is out of gas. . . . tongue.gif
SubRosa
Niner is out of gas. No surprise, given that its been 200 years since any of it has been refined!

That motorcycle blew up real good, even though it doesn't have any gas! laugh.gif

Ben better be careful, Niner kind of looks like old Snake Eyes Deeno... ohmy.gif

Going south is a great view of Ben's ghoul eye.

Lopov
@Winter Wolf - I also love Niner's headgear, actually his entire outfit is nicely done. I don't know the exact number of deathclaws up at the Quarry Junction but there are probably between 15-20.

@Acadian - you explained Ben and Niner's teamwork so good, I couldn't have said it better myself

@SubRosa - Niner indeed resembles Deeno, but he's nowhere as dangerous and backstabbing.

__

In some abandoned dresser Ben Stevens found a more appropriate outfit, complimented by Niner that he now looks like a 'super grandpa'.

The duo made it to Primm, occupied by ex-cons. After Ben had a short nostalgic speech about how many towns he helped defending in his young days, Niner encouraged him that it's maybe not too late to liberate another town.

Turns out that the old oak and young junkie could be quite an effective combination - outside & inside.
SubRosa
That is a grandpa outfit!

Looks like BenNiner are making a good combo, blasting their way into Primm.
