Hee! Mit helping the ladies and stealing hearts.

Woot! Stratosphere!

Practicing on the back nine?

Nice shots of Mit in action in the badlands.

Very effective and versatile looking assault rifle he's got there!
SubRosa
Those hats were disguises for the hookers? I guess they did not work too well, considering the battle in the streets!

Cool glow in the sky around the Lucky 38.

Mit is teeing off on the geckos!

Looks like Mit has a head for dealing with ghouls...

Yikes, 979 Rads! Mit is burning a hole through the planet at that point!

Mit is an All-American to the end!
Lopov
@Renee - Mit taught quite some creatures and baddies some golf. I know you'd prefer to see Mit from the front side but you'll have to bear with it.

@Acadian - Joana later briefly became Mit's companion, I'll show some pics of their adventures today.

@SubRosa - if Mit's Speech was high enough (around 80, I think) he could convince Omerta thugs to leave them alone but since he didn't find a way with words, he had to find a way with guns.

Good to see Mit’s new friends and glad that he’s got a new adventuress to travel with.

New armor – ‘Look at the muscles on you!’ tongue.gif

Good to see Mit and Joana ‘venturing.

Loved the fiery reference to Renee’s Sarah.

Wow, don’t mess with us is a fabulous shot!
SubRosa
Its great to see Sunny and Easy Pete again! How did Victor get turned off? Doesn't he usually go to the Strip, and get killed in the shootout to kill Mr. House?

Mit is on the SWAT team now. He already has the special weapon.

Shot the gun right from the Raider's hand!

Mit kills bugs dead! I don't remember Joana though.

That is Sarah! biggrin.gif Come on baby light my fire!

Lopov
@Acadian - I'm glad you liked the Mojave Sarah. Look at the muscles on you would probably get you the cake.gif in another thread. wink.gif

@SubRosa - Victor in Goodsprings gets disabled as soon as you talk to him in Novac / Boulder City / the Strip. He remains standing in front of his shack. Joana is a vanilla character from the Gomorrah, I use a mod that allows you to recruit her as a companion. Mit adventured with her for a while.

Mit has come to the end of the road. In the 2nd Battle of Hoover Dam he supported the NCR, repelling Legion forces and convinced their Legate to retreat.

The battle begins

Boomers come to aid

Boom!

Many fall but one remains

Rangers came to assist

Mit meets the Legate

The battle of words

Administration sends its thanks

Mit gets the Golden Branch

And so Mit came to the end of the road
SubRosa
The Boomers live up to their name! Their bombing run is the coolest part of the battle for the dam.

Mit is face to face with Big Helmet!

Wow, Mit is talking Lanius into leaving? I didn't realize you could even do that. My characters who got that far just wanted to kill every Legionary they met, after seeing their handiwork Nipton, Nelson, and other places.

Congrats to Mit! I hope he enjoys his walk into the sunset. goodjob.gif
Lopov
I didn't know it's possible either but since Mit's speech was maxed out at the time, I decided to try this approach. You have to pass a LOT of speech checks with Lanius that start at 55 and then raise up to 100. Once you two are done talking, Lanius says that the Legion will be back at some point and he'll be honored to fight you then, and then flees the battlefield. From what I've read on the UESP after I b34t d4 g4m3, you can also convince him to leave with Barter checks, I'll copy it here:

QUOTE
Note that with a Speech or Barter skill of 100, you can pass a series of skill checks, and avoid fighting him. The Legate is extremely challenging, and many Legionaries will come out and attack you. If you pass all of the previous speech checks and fail the last one, you get another Speech challenge [85] which can convince the Legate to fight you one on one - all the other Legion troops will become friendly to you.

- There is another tree of answers in dialogue with Lanius - the speech checks that suggest bluffing. This way is actually easier, because it does not require level 100 Speech (checks are 60-75-90-90). In the last Speech check all three answers give the same result, but after it you must choose the <lie> answer, and the Legate will flee.

Acadian
I bet that was an exciting final battle. Congrats to Mit as he walks off into the badlands sunset. . . . happy.gif

Mit meets Joana

Helping the hookers

It didn't go smoothly

But in the end all turned out well because Mit is something else

At this point Mit was still undecided whether to play a role in the upcoming war so he decided to leave the Strip behind for a while and wander the wastes. I took a ton of pics during this period but I'll post only those I found the best:

Time for new adventures

The Japanese golf teacher

He doesn't have patience for those that don't want to learn

Head in pieces

Time to remove the Overseer

RadRadRad

New weapon - All-American, a semiautomatic rifle which will remain Mit's number 1 weapon 'til the end

Mit is handsome, which is hard to make in Fallout games, lol. But HOLY COW, how does he get up to almost 1000 rads with 41% immunity to rads? He must have been trying to get into Vault 87 the hard way, lol. (that was a joke, I know it is the wrong game by the big geckos, lol. )

These are hysterical, I love the captions !!! My favorite shot by caption is "Sarah Phimm, with the ghostly shape in the mist; but without it - has to be "Don't mess with us," I swear I've seen that girl on stage in some musical group I can't remember the name of, lol. Awesome shots, Lopov - and another great storyline to follow!

I have never been able to get this far in NV, first my 360 game kept having fatal glitches before it could reach this far; and since I bought the PC game - haven't gotten far enough, have only just reached NV in the game and stopped playing, lol.

Also, every screen sets I've seen either did the mech route and kicked Gen. Oliver off the dam or didn't show this scene, I love that the NCR recognizes your contribution! Great shots !!!

Goodbye Mit

Winter Wolf
Lopov-

Awesome work there. Loved the explosion on the dam and that final pic where he walks down the final lonely path. So cool!

How many hours did you play to reach the ending? Was it a quick run through?
Lopov
A little more than 75 hours but I rushed it through the final quests. So I'd say it was a quick run.
SubRosa
My last time doing the main quest with Hecate was only 50 hours and change. But that was without doing any of the dlcs.
Lopov
Mit also didn't complete any of the DLCs. In my roleplay he wasn't the fateful courier responsible for the destruction of the Divide.

In the first screenshot seasoned FNV players will notice that Webb is wearing a patient gown which you normally only get in OWB. For the first time I've been using a mod that automatically equips this item on your PC instead of being naked (or in underwear). When you get the Vault 21 jumpsuit, the gown gets automatically unequipped and removed from the inventory.

The last screenshot was taken in a mod-added camper parked right outside the Prospector Saloon, which is my interpretation of where guests in Goodsprings can sleep for a modest fee.
SubRosa
I didn't like how Lonesome Road decided your history for you by making you the person who destroyed The Divide either. It worked for Annie, as it helped build her character as Kimball's personal assassin. But most of my other characters would never do such a thing.

Is Alan related to Colin Moriarity? He looks like a younger version if the barkeep we all love to hate.

The raven is a good touch. Perhaps it is Huginn or Muninn?

I see he is packing a 1911 Colt! Is that from the mod by Millenia?

Take no prisoners!

You modded one of the trailers in Goodsprings for a home. That is pretty cool. One thing I like about Goodsprings and Novac is that there are plenty of empty buildings and trailer that we can mod into player homes.
Acadian
A big desert welcome to Al! As I said in the other thread, he's a looker! I hope he's nicer than Rattler. laugh.gif

...

Webb will be the courier behind the destruction of the Divide, that's why I included working for the NCR in his backstory. He'll do the MQ only up to the point to get revenge on Benny and retrieve the chip. He also has a good personality profile for a bounty hunter so I'll probably do the New Vegas Bounties mods with him.

Heh, he's indeed similar to Moriarty, I haven't noticed it until now.

I had to be quick to take the 'raven shot' because ravens disappear from the camera after a few seconds. The same goes with B-29 during the final battle of Hoover Dam, I took too much time to take a screenie when it was flying over so it disappeared, then I reloaded and made a shot on time.

The camper mod isn't mine, I found it on Nexus. I also found your mod that turns one of the houses into a home, maybe I'll use it in the future.

He's definitely nicer but he has his own views of what is right and what is wrong, and he may be (too) harsh against those that he considers to act in a wrong way. Still, he's not a cannibal and doesn't enjoy killing innocents so I guess that makes him a much better person. bigsmile.gif

With the G.E.C.K. it's possible but it takes time and patience. I definitely wouldn't be able to create these faces with the default face creator because the G.E.C.K. has a lot of features that aren't available with the default creator. I usually use a randomizer as long as a face that I'm satisfied with, shows up. Then I tweak that face to make it even more likeable. It's easy to save the face in the G.E.C.K. at any time so if you screw something up, you can always revert to the last saved face. When working, I have to know exactly what kind of character I want to play, I can't just create some face, it has to reflect that particular character. After a while it becomes rather easy to create good-looking characters.

You make great faces too, Sarah is one of my favorites!

I had a friend that used to make celebrity faces in Oblivion, but he used the Singular Inversions Facegen software that you have to buy for thousands of dollars. (I had the free one, and it was great but put a big "SI" in the middle of their foreheads).

I see he is packing a 1911 Colt! Is that from the mod by Millenia?

I checked my mod list and I'm not using any weapon-altering mods so that should be the default 9mm pistol you get at the beginning from Doc Mitchell. Unless the mod which changes the weapon is embedded into some other mod which I use.

Oh, that must be the 9mm then. It looks a lot like the Colt in general design.

Joe Cobb is calling the shots? I don't think so... wink.gif laugh.gif

Al is the Shotcaller!

Ewwww!

I love leaving Joe's body on the sign! The best thing is it will be there forever, since it never respawns.

You know, maybe you should change Al's name to The Dude. He is staring to look like Jeff Bridges.

The Dude got downright nihilistic on those Powder Gangers!
Lopov
@Acadian - Alan's explosive work should teach Powder Gangers to avoid Goodsprings in the future.

@SubRosa - I've never killed Cobb before doing the related quest so it was interesting to see that both Sunny and Trudy comment on his premature death, wondering whether it was just out of sheer fun and whether that should bring more problems to Goodpsrings. Ringo's dialogue is also slightly different when you approach him for the 1st time because Webb already killed Cobb before talking to Ringo.

You're good at comparing Webb with various people, whether in the FO university or real life.

That is neat about killing Cobb outside of the quest. I never thought to try that either. It if fun to experiment like that, and see what is built into the quests, and what is not.

Fireworks! Off with his head!

Looks like the Convict Leader had a face off with Al!

Acadian
Your game looks great! That fireworks shot really does look like fireworks. I gather Primm is a safer place now? biggrin.gif
Winter Wolf
I always love the exploring the Bison Steve. The architecture inside is not really the best, but the combat is always so fun. Lobby showdown is such a neat camera angle. The gun fire looks great in the dingy building.

Leaning back and taking a smoke while waiting for the deputy to either- plead, or praise you, is taking time. He must still be wanting that credit. laugh.gif
SubRosa
I love that the Bison Steve is very non-linear in its layout, so there are multiple ways to approach it.
Lopov
@SubRosa - I use a mod that fills up lots of empty spaces in Primm (outside) and adds more convicts (outside as well). I think there are enough convicts inside the hotel to keep things challenging. The game randomizes how the convict leader looks like, sometimes he has his hockey mask, sometime an NCR helmet and sometime an ordinary cowboy hat.

@Acadian - Primm is indeed a safer place now that convicts rule the town no more.

@Winter Wolf - I like the Bison Steve as hell, its layout gives a lot of options to deal with convicts in any way you desire. So when will the Winter Wolf become Desert Wolf and come visit us in the Mojave?

Today's screenies are as dark as they were when I gamed. Usually I brighten them up but I think this time they're better left untouched to keep the night feel of the Mojave.

Imposing is exactly that! goodjob.gif
Winter Wolf
Great pics Lopov!! It is a very interesting night look you have going on. It is hard to tell on a monitor- but the grain plus night blend is sweet! The last shadow. Wow!

Just be careful and avoid those pesky scorpions that can attack you from the blind side. Glad to see that Alan was still there when the sun rose. smile.gif

Desert Wolf laugh.gif will pay a visit back to the Mojave again. But the modded version of Fallout 4 / Skyrim SE will keep me going until early-mid next year. I love them so much and is most fun I have ever had in gaming. I give them both 10/10. Mods make everything perfect, no doubt.

I am planning an Oblivion / Fallout NV gaming session in about 12 months from now.

But I want to play Doom, Dying Light, Dishonored, Far Cry, Witcher, Mass Effect 1-3 as well. laugh.gif

I want to go back to a linear game this autumn, just to remember what it was like. Maybe one of the Tomb Raiders, or one of the turn-based RPGs I used to play. biggrin.gif Or maybe something new entirely.
Lopov
@Renee - I've been playing New Vegas for so long that I knew for almost every Jackal in that place. But I've been there mostly during days and at nights the place looks completely different, also some Jackals aren't in the same position as during daytime.

@SubRosa - disarmed in "my" world doesn't necessarily mean disarmed in "your" world. biggrin.gif

@Acadian - I didn't actually know about another shadow behind Webb, I was turning the camera around to get a good angle when I spotted it. Webb made sure it never got close enough.

@Winter Wolf - I was also slightly afraid that some giant radscorpions would join the fight if they heard shooting. While Webb is well armed, more than one giant radscorpion attacking at once would be challenging in any case. It's good to hear that modded FO4 offers a lot of enjoyment.

Thanks for the comment of FO4. I know the game has copped much grief on PC and I would only give the vanilla version 6 out of 10, but the modded version for me is 10 out of 10. It is so good to be able to fix all those horrible Beth decisions they made.

Just this week I added a 4k re-texture to the night sky and it now has a huge spiral arm of the galaxy that stretches across the heavens, and a 2k re-textured moon that is now double the size. It looks fantastic!

Modders really do better work than Beth!

Do you have links? Or just the mod names? I have been starting to collect FO4 mods for when I do eventually get the game, probably in the next few months.
Lopov
@SubRosa - Daisy indeed regaled Alan about her flying days and her only failed mission, the one above Klamath, featured in Fallout 2.

@Acadian - I think the dino statue is supposed to be a reference to some real dino statue in the USA but I don't know in which town is it located. Since there's no Novac in real life, it must be a reference to another town. I read about this in an old interview with one of the developers.

@Winter Wolf - Alan didn't meet Nightkins because he blew up Bright's ghouls as soon as Bright himself finished his speech about the Great Journey. He let mad Chris the Ghoul live, though.

Today there's a set of non-action pics (except one):

Good mornin'

That's what Webb sees when aiming with his grenade rifle

It's long only 40mm but it blew up some raiders

El Dorado at night

El Dorado at dawn

Webb meets an old friend - former Sgt. Angelina Mason from the NCR (she's not named in the vanilla game, that's my name for her)

Webb bought a battle rifle in a mint condition

Webb bought lots of .44 ammunition for his .44 revolver which he got from one of raiders hiding behind the billboard a few pics up

Reminiscing the old times, when Angie Mason was still a sergeant and Webb still a scout with the NCR
SubRosa
Those raiders have been Heliated!

El Dorado at dawn is really neat, with the purple sky and the Lucky 38 glowing on the horizon.

Alan would be pals with an arms dealer! biggrin.gif

Acadian
Lopov – There are several towns/cities in the mid-west US that have dino statues. Generally, those areas are associated with rich fossil finds so I guess that makes sense.

Good Mornin' is a fabulous 'Lopov' trademark shot. tongue.gif

Some nice shots showcasing the Webster’s armory. I do recall 40mm grenade bloopers. Some were slung under the barrels of selected M-16’s and some were pure grenade launchers. They made some automatic ones (150 rounds / minute) but, because of the bulk ammo demands those were only used on vehicles like jeeps and a few helicopter gunships. When fired, the grenade blooper made a rather quiet hollow sound leaving the weapon (hence the nickname grenade blooper), then a boom when its relatively short range impacted the target.
Winter Wolf
SubRosa- Here are the links.

Galaxy?

Moon retexture?

Moon size adjuster?

I will check back in later to see what Mr Webb has been up to! I have work and lunch to do!

edit- Great set of slow pics. Beth/Obsidian games are really just as nice at the slow moments as the hectic ones. Storage, eating, trading, smoking, chatting with the locals are all really cool things to do.

QUOTE(Lopov @ Nov 12 2016, 04:04 PM) *

Well good mornin' to you too. You're looking very Lopovesque today, Alan.

I really like the 'battle rifle in mint condition' pic. Something about it. Maybe it's all the gear he's got on, or something. He just looks so prepared.

Lopov
@SubRosa - Fellout really improves nights and dawns. The only minor glitch that I sometimes experience is that nights at first get very dark but if I enter & exit some nearby interior cell, nights are slightly brighter again. They're not as bright as in the vanilla game but they're brighter than they were before.

@Acadian - Webb's grenade rifle also makes a sort of hollow sound when fired and just as you say, it has a relatively short range. There are also 25mm grenades in New Vegas.

@Winter Wolf - I'm glad you appreciate non-actions pics. Sometimes I have a feeling that I post too much action ones, making it look like there's always fighting going in my roleplays. This is wrong of course, I spend a lot of time doing non-action oriented things but I don't take pics as frequently while doing so. I intend to change this in the future so that you'll get some mixed shots.

@Renee - thanks, I think 'prepared' is an appropriate word. At first I intended to equip Webb with a classic sniper rifle (the same as in FO3) but he went for the battle rifle instead. Which is even better because the sniper rifle might look too 'modern' on his cowboy-like outfit whereas the battle rifle fits him just fine.

__

Today let's see at incendiary 40mm grenades at work...

Boulder City (not that there's much of the city actually left)

"Don't shoot, mighty Great Khans. I, Alan Webb, am coming in peace. I just want to have a few words with your leader Jessup."

"Hello Jessup!"

"A few more words then I'll be leaving."

"Too bad we couldn't come to an agreement."

"Stay safe, soldiers. And next time try not to get caught by Great Khans. I might not be there to save you. Adios!"
Acadian
Oh my, those 40mm grenades can certainly do a job inside a building! The end of the not-so-Great Khans it seems.
SubRosa
Looks like Alan is not going to wait another Dam minute to see Boulder.

Alan coming in Peace? Why do I suspect he will be leaving the Khans in pieces? wink.gif

That is some Hello!

Alan's words come in the 40mm variety!
