Phon, I loved these screenies! Especially Arrival and Descent. And of course that winsome smile in the Chapel!

While I wouldn't play the game with those settings, I enjoy the painterly effect they give the screenies. It's an awful lot like the Painted World - I keep searching the underbrush for those pesky painted trolls! These "paintings" -- if you will -- make me think of Van Gogh and Gaugin, two of my favorite artists. They're not everyone's cup of tea, but then, art never pleases everybody. But art sure adds a lot to what are too often otherwise dull lives.

The lighting in Future Abode reminds me of the light in the Southwest - Santa Fe and Taos, more specifically. It's strong, unfiltered, and harsh. Everything is thrown into stark contrast between light and dark. I love that! But I almost have to put on my sunglasses to look at it! wink.gif

Thank you, that's very nice of you to say. smile.gif
It is in fact a kind of painterly-dreamy effect I'm going for; slightly other-wordly and a bit off kilter in some ways. Nirn is not earth and I don't believe it should look entirely like it, also I look at it like I'm looking through something to Eilidh in her world and so maybe there are visual artefacts in that.

But indeed, I know that it's not for everyone, and perhaps a little eye-watering in some cases, but it's how envision it, myself.
Actually my fave out of those screenies I think is "Mucky Day at the Docks"

Beautiful shot, not just because of how it looks but because there's something 'warm' about Lothran returning home.

Very good, I like it when shots are taken from below because HM's statue looks even bigger as it is.

Ooo, that’s what I’ve been trying to pin down about your screenshots! For me there’s a slight sense of apartness that I couldn’t really define. They very much evoke a sense of viewing through something to another place. Well done!

Exactly, that's what I've been working at all along, a mix of viewing something with what you are viewing's own ambience...
and thank you.

To be honest though, there are so many awesome screenies on this forum and the other one. People put so much work into visualising the world and in so many unique ways.
It's that uniqueness and difference between all of us on here that makes visiting the forums such an inspiring experience.
Long may it continue.

Renee
Renee Gade III Just created her.

I used a few pics of Xena to inspire her looks. She doesn't look exactly like Xena, of course, but I was using Xena's pics to sort of 'aim' RG3 in the direction I wanted. biggrin.gif
mirocu
Yay! Nice one, Renee smile.gif But who is that blondie in the background? hubbahubba.gif
Acadian
Nice, Renee. Is that Gabriel in the background waiting for Xena?

I notice your user interface (UI) is on for the screenshot - and some healing is definitely in order! I'm happy to look at UI's in screenies because it gives a better peek into what is going on, but many folks turn it off for most o their screens. If you want to turn it off / on, the console command tm (for toggle menu) does that. smile.gif
Renee
Yep, you nailed it Acadian. I actually found a Xena mod on Nexus, and it comes with Gabby as a partner. hehe.gif It doesn't make Xena for you, but it includes her things: her Chakram (the circular boomerang she had) and also her clothes. All her stuff is in Vilverin. The mod includes a quest to try and find this stuff, but first thing she needs to do is get up to the I.C. pronto and get something to eat!

Her health is severely drained because of Basic Primary Needs. huh.gif She did the entire Tutorial without eating; she refused to eat the crappy food on the floor in that one section, but by the time she got out of the Sewers her health was crucially low.

Thanks for the tm command. I already have it written down; I was just being lazy
Grits
Oh my gosh, congrats on RG III! biggrin.gif She looks great! Good hunting in Vilverin!

Kanet crept through Vilverin a few days ago searching for a mod item. She grabbed it but also met a guy from a different mod (that should not have been installed in her game, oops) who is a very tough character. Thankfully he looks tough and Kanet is not an idiot, so she sneaked in and back out without messing with him.

I forgot how awesome she is at sneaking. I'd post a screenshot to stay on topic but thanks to her enchanted sandals it would just look like the dark.

So instead here she is (in disguise) talking to... No, that would be a spoiler. She's talking to a guy. tongue.gif

mirocu
It´s time for a rare shot of Lothran! biggrin.gif

Here he stands in the woods just SE of Chorrol smile.gif
Acadian
Hi to Kanet doing her special operations in Skingrad. That guy she's talking to is one of the more endearing NPCs in the game I think. Oh, and fun wig! tongue.gif

*Happy sigh* So nice to see the elusive dark elf in the forest wearing his 'summer uniform'. happy.gif
Grits
‘That Guy’ was in his first bout of trouble in Leyawiin in that picture. Kanet was happy to offer her help. She’s a great believer in Luck as evidence of the Night Mistress’ favor, so she’ll be even more pleased to see him if they meet again. wink.gif

I love that picture of Lothran in the woods. White hair looks very fine on a Dunmer. smile.gif
mirocu
Thank you both for your nice comments on Lothran smile.gif

There´s only one drawback with his white hair; it makes his face even darker which forces me to always have him face light in order for his facial features to be noticable! tongue.gif
Acadian
Oops, sorry, Grits. Shows how long since I've done the TG questline. Buffy's never done it in fact. We've oft thought that helping the lonely Lady Anvil could be a perfect mechanism to involve Buffy in it though. Lol. I can see it now: Buffy sneaks into a shop, gathers some loot and leaves a big bag of gold on the counter. Then she reports to her 'fence' with her 'stolen goods'. . . . laugh.gif
mirocu
Buffy´s way of stealing laugh.gif
Grits
biggrin.gif I could see Buffy being called in as a specialist by the Grey Fox himself who may have heard of her stealthy exploits on behalf of the Mages Guild. I’ve thought of eventually hand-placing a few high-value items for Lil to retrieve and then ‘return’ to a fence on a contract basis, but she’s been busy with her own concerns.

I’ve found it’s not easy to find a character to enjoy the TG questline with. Most of mine who would steal that much stuff from fellow mortals are too disconnected to get drawn into the love and loyalty that make the TG quests so fun. Kanet finally feels that she’s part of something. It’s been good for her.

Here’s a screen with an icy-hot item she had to handle. She’s dressed in the same outfit she wore earlier to flirt with the fellow who is asleep behind her. If he wakes up she’ll pretend she misinterpreted his warm tone as an invitation to (let herself into) his home. hehe.gif

Wow! Stealing that artifact takes some real stones with no illusion skill to back up her sneak and potions. And the proper wig selection is critical of course. wink.gif

Speaking of which, Kanet chooses some excellent wigs to complement her disguises.

Grits, I have enjoyed watching Kanet work her way through a certain story line. It seems like it suits her quite well.

Mr. Raven, I too, liked seeing Lothran in one of the most beautiful areas of Cyrodiil. It's nice to see him enjoying the warm weather! I hear you about the contrast between white hair and dark faces - I struggle with the same thing in Julian!

I look forward to the further adventures of RGIII, too!

Julian has spent a fairly low-key three or four days at Skingrad. She wanted to check on the progress on her house in Anvil (it is being remodeled as we speak, a little bit at a time), and visit with Savlian and the Kvatch survivors for a bit. Of course, she got suckered into the paranoia of a certain little Bosmer. And she finally learned about the mysterious roots she has been seeing along the water on her travels. During her stay in Skingrad, she has been accompanied by Mifune-San, an oversized black cat who isn't afraid to fly into battle. He's a great companion in the woods with all the boars and goblins.

During her visit, Julian took a walk up to Shadeleaf Copse. The morning started out foggy, but cleared up soon after she arrived at Shadeleaf. She spent a few hours just sitting with Mifune-San beside the water and listening to the sounds of the forest.

Grits
Such a pretty morning at Shadeleaf Copse! It’s great to hear that Julian’s LBMQ is moving along including the renovations. smile.gif

Stealing that artifact was a nerve-wracking experience. Kanet had to have a good story to explain herself since she had to enter two confined areas completely blind and felt certain that she would be caught. Sheer luck got her through the middle part as the attendant was facing away from her when she arrived and she could sneak behind him. She got caught on the way out but only got a warning to leave, which she was more than happy to do! ohmy.gif (No one seemed to notice the giant stolen item she had stuffed somewhere about her person. Good thing she was wearing a baggy robe. tongue.gif)

Rider, nice to see Julian relaxing with her kitty and enjoying the beauty of Cyrodiil. happy.gif

Grits, sure enough, I was wondering where Kanet was going to hide that staff to get it out of its home. Sounds like she needs to borrow a thief's pouch from Teresa or bag of holding from Buffy to stuff her oversize loot into. wink.gif

Giedrius, that is a great shot from the SI. I agree that the night sky in Mania is simply spectacular. goodjob.gif

You need to take that fork back to Skyrim, or rather Solstheim. That's where all the netches are these days.

That pic would make a great desktop background, Giedrius.

That's a question: how many of you all rotate different desktop pics you've taken? .. I've been in the habit of changing to a different pic every week or so.

My desktop's on a constant cycle of about 20 photos that automatically transition every 10 minutes or so. Whenever I have a really good photo I want to add in or get sick of an older one, I swap those pictures from the cycle tongue.gif
Acadian
I change my desktop background screenie out several times a week to suit my mood.
SubRosa
I have about forty or so pics from Oblivion and Skyrim that automatically change out every half hour.
Giedrius911G
My desktop contains pictures, that are well-fitting with icons. There's about 40, and they randomly change every 30min.

I don't like all those porn backgrounds, or the ones, that makes icon text inposible to read biggrin.gif

Here's a shot of Snaat for ya. tongue.gif Literally. I just entered that pic into the BADASS contest over at Beth. As you can see, Snaaty's got a couple conjurer followers with him.

Neat to see Snaat! He does look like a badass.

We were recently discussing the trouble faced by overnight visitors at the Chorrol Mages Guild. It's very much a guys' club and there's a shortage of beds.

It's no surprise that Jerric loves to stay there. Here's where he sleeps. smile.gif
