Right above his head. If he was wearing a halo, it wouldn't need circling. biggrin.gif

Holy Cow, how did anyone even see that!!!! rollinglaugh.gif

Though my Oblivion playthrough is currently on hiatus, it somehow doesn't seem proper to not give my decrepit avatar his visual due in these forums. Nothing new here. Those who follow his adventures on the official forums are welcome to move along with no harm done.

Looking Toward Hammerfell. A first play-through image. All else is from my second, current play-through.

Hamfat Hamkin in the restored Temple of the One, Imperial City. Possibly my favorite close-up view of the decrepit Champion. He oft visits the Temple to pay his respects to Martin Septim and renew two important blessing. I no longer recall why Vilja does not accompany him. Most likely he let her sleep in late while he journeyed to the Imperial City to gather assignments.

Two Asses Outside Rockmilk. My avatar and Groucho relax prior to a periodic cleansing of the caves. Much of my avatar's wealth was/is amassed from the sale of looted armor acquired in Rockmilk. Rockmilk runs are one of his few solo endeavors, with Vilja left to her own devices in Leyawiin. (They would have arrived in Leyawiin on patrol the night before.)

Inside Rockmilk. I like the textures and composition.

Dealing with Jensine. My avatar and Vilja visit the Market District to sell self-made potions.

Conferring in the Count's Arms. My avatar solicits a package delivery assignment from the Merchants Guild.

A Book at Bedtime. Weye Manor. Evening. At the end of the day, circumstances permitting, Vil often reads passages aloud at the fireplace. (My avatar's vision at close distance is no longer the best.)

Sunrise over the Imperial City. My avatar sits on his Weye Manor third-floor private balcony. He consumes many a breakfast and bedtime snack there. His bedroom is entered through a door behind him. Vilja sleeps on the floor below. Wolfgang has run of the first floor. Groucho is tethered in the stables along with their mounts Arrowspeed and Bruse.

What the above does not reflect is that the gang spend the vast majority of the their time constantly patrolling Cyrodiil's major highways, keeping them safe for honest travelers. For that, we turn to Shenanigans Along the Silver and Mayhem Amidst the Mounts, episodes three and four of a four part short-lived YouTube series documenting my avatar and the gang as they go about their mundane daily affairs. Here we see them patrol the Silver between the Imperial City and Bruma. This is honest gameplay footage which I later edit remove the more boring bits and voice my avatar. I feel it accurately represents my conception of him. (For whatever reason they don't look their best, even at 720p, when seen full-screen on my 1080p monitor.)

Oooh, looks like you have Mr_Siika's Seaview Castle! And is that his Donkey too?

Arrowspeed indeed hails from Castle Seaview. Groucho, however, is from Pack Donkeys by Emma, the creator of Companion Vilja. It provides four buyable donkeys at the Chorrol stables . . . Groucho, Harpo, Chico, Zeppo. (I once half jokingly asked Emma to consider creating a fifth mule, Karl. She said she had thought of the same thing herself. Suffice to say it never came to pass.) Both my avatar and myself find pack animals invaluable. Removing all that looted armor from Rockmilk after its periodic cleansing would be a major pain without one. Or more. My avatar must content himself with a single pack animal due to the limitations of my now aged computer. (He might buy at most one more were that a viable option.)

I agree that Dragon Armor is about as good as it gets in Cyrodiil, looks wise. As an added bonus, it officially counts as Legion armor for patrol purposes. He'd otherwise have to make do with crappy standard-issue armor, as he did very early on.

Aye. After receiving the late Emperor's pardon and exiting the sewers my avatar almost immediately joined the Imperial Legion and was issued a set of Legion plate. He was then tasked to patrol the Gold to Anvil. There he heard the Prophet and began visiting wayshrines, eventually assuming the mantle of Divine Crusade. As Crusader he helped thwart the Crisis. He soon afterward assumed the role of Champion of Cyrodiil. In that guise he put out many a fire early on, eventually settling into his current role as relentless patroller of Cyrodiil's roadways, tax collector for the Council, deliveryman for several mercantile concerns, and entrepreneur, along with a host of official duties some of which he tries to ignore.

Cave textures are from Qarl's Texture Pack III, the only textures I use from that pack. I otherwise tend to combine bits and pieces from a variety of hi-res packs. Wilderness textures contain much Darooz and AmpolX.

Glad you enjoy the vids! After all this time I still watch episodes 3 & 4 and think to myself, "Dang, I didn't do half bad." Ep.2 is OK but not their equal. I now consider Ep.1 something of a disappointment. Those earlier episodes exist on YouTube. You are welcome to search them out.

Alas, there are no others. I planned a sporadic continuing series of videos, centered on the gang's road patrols. I also foresaw several 'dream' videos containing footage derived not from actual game-play but rather special recording sessions. I began scripting the first dream video, which would have told the story of my avatar while incarcerated in the Imperial Prison via flashback.

Due to a series of setbacks it never happened. Nor do I plan to resume production.

Your character's responses to Vilja had me in stitches, and I just loved listening to all his comments as he patrolled! That is the most fascinating gameplay vid I've ever seen, AWESOME!!! Thank you so much for sharing them!

@Decrepit - Great shots of your decrepit avatar in various adventures.

The close-up in the Temple of One is very good indeed.

I like Vilja reading books for him by the fireplace, something special about that shot.

Is that Frostcrag Spire visible to the left of the Imperial City, high in the Jeralls?

I wondered if anyone would ask about that spire. Nay, it's not Frostcrag. It is from the mod FortAkatoshRedux? which, amongst other things, creates a string of Legion watch towers along the border, one for each surrounding province. You see, I believe, the Skyrim Tower. (My play-through is rather Legion centric.) There is another such tower in my sole linked first play-through image atop a ridge screen right, above Arrowspeed.

For those not familiar with Vilja, she actually does read book excerpts aloud when asked, voiced by Emma of course. I admit being rather smitten with Emma's voice and enjoy listening along with my avatar.

Me too! The action is great, but I'm ecstatic to see Decrepit is like me: He walks through the game, does not run impatiently like some other gamers I've seen. There's something so mature about this sort of gameplay. When my 20 year-old nephew games for instance, he just runs runs runs... laugh.gif Makes me dizzy.

Love the pics too. I've seen the book-reading one before; that's one of my faves! smile.gif

Whoa, so that's what Vilja sounds like? Cool. Wow. I've heard her voice spoken by some Better Cities NPCs. Whoa, you also shoot arrows in 3rd person! ... That's what I do too.

How are you able to have Vilja (an NPC) mount a horse too?

Is that you singing? Lol, you're brave Decrepit, I'd be so shy!

It is great to see the old Decrepit avatar once again! Now we just need Lady Mara's Skarsgard...
ghastley
If he was buying at Stonewall Shields and intending to become an Arena combatant, why didn't he buy a shield instead of new armour? That and a helmet can be the difference in a bout.

So maybe there's an enchantment on that amulet instead?
Lopov
At that point he didn't join the Arena yet and didn't know that he will, that's why he bought new armor because he wanted to leave the Imperial City wearing some better gear. He has a matching helmet too.

Both of his rings are enchanted, I don't recall all enchantments because one of them has four different ones, but one rings makes him more resistant to magic while the second one boosts his health and endurance among others. His amulet is unenchanted, it's an ordinary Terentius family amulet.

Did Saga make vids as good as Decrepit's? (must include voice acting of one's Avatar!!! That absolutely made Decrepit's vids, and set a new bar - I may never watch gameplay vids again unless they include that voicing!!! )

My avatar runs only when absolutely necessary. Even ahorse he travels at a walking pace the vast majority of the time. In fact I reduced Arrowspeed's running speed in TES4edit to better reflect what I feel is practical for a heavily armored warrior atop an armored mount.

Yeah. As mentioned in other forums, during normal Oblivion game-play I remain in third-person a good 98-99% of the time. That I switched to first-person for his prolonged look at the Imperial City during video episode three is a concession to my non existent viewing audience. I had began to realize that even in a third-person-centric environment certain scenes come off as more immersive 'on film' in first-person. Had I continued to produce I'd almost surely have incorporated more fist-person views. Once the camera stopped rolling I'd almost as certainly have reverted to my normal perspective ratio.

Vilja is pretty sophisticated. She knows to mount and dismount when my avatar does.

As to what passes as singing in my videos, I'm with you in that I could not be forced to sing in public. I let myself do so in the videos because:

1) During normal game-play my avatar often hums ditties to while away the hours on patrol duty. I often vocalize aloud at those times. As these videos document my normal play-style I felt it was only proper to include this element.

2) I admit to reality. I'm a bad singer. He's a bad singer. Neither of us has any illusions to the contrary. We both make light of our lack of vocal prowess. I attempt to convey this to the audience, treating his off-pitch warblings as something of a running joke. As such, they cause no embarrassment.

Those humming and "warbling" moments were one of my favorite parts of the vids; that was so realistic and believable that the man would hum or sing to himself to while away the hours - that was one of those things that made these vids so immersive and fun to watch! "Urk, I see Lothran may be finding himself in a fight with a corrupt lawman sometime soon, lol.

Not sure what you mean here. Lothran did all the Bruma quests ages ago kvright.gif

He is still carrying both of Arnora's necklaces; And he said, "good, it is still here" when he looked in his inventory. I thought he must be talking about Arnora's things.

Actually he meant the Amulet of Kings. Guess he was a bit unclear smile.gif

How does he still have both necklaces, I thought you had to hand in one of them to someone?

Depends on how you do the quest, according to the wiki. If you kill her you do get both. Itīs only required that you show Jorundr the real one, you donīt have to give it to him.

I only did this quest once, and can't remember much about it; only that both Arnora and her husband were alive when I went after the treasure - but I sneaked around the killing somehow, and I don't remember how.

But when I went to get the treasure, the corrupt guard attacked me and I had to kill him. So after killing a guard I was afraid to go into Bruma for a while, and hid out in Cloud Ruler Temple a few days. But when I did go into Bruma next, as soon as I entered Arnora and her husband got into a fight just outside of Olav's Tap and Tack; and the guards rushed in and killed Arnora!

I thought that was kind of cool, because it had to be triggered event in the chance that the player kills neither! When Bethesda made Oblivion, they put in all these extra things "Just in case" that I loved so much about that game, little surprises based on how you played.
