Not all highwaymen are hostile and here's the proof!

Raven was walking via the bridge, seeing a Khajiit Highwayman in the distance. Just to be safe, he summoned his Flame Atronach but surprisingly the Khajiit didn't attack him but instead greeted him in a rather unique way. Raven didn't initiate a conversation with him but instead went on, and Khajiit remained nice and not hostile at all times.

I have no idea what was the reason for that but I'm glad it happened, I've never heard that greeting before. biggrin.gif

That is so funny he said that! I wonder what the spell going was, I saw something in the upper right screen but didn't recognize the icon.

Maxical still gets held up by highwaymen, but not bandits/marauders/mercenaries/etc. Deer, wolves, and mountain lions leave her alone (can't remember if bear do), but boars, mudcrabs, mythic beasts, Daedra, minotaur, etc - all attack her on sight.

QUOTE(Acadian @ Oct 10 2013, 01:43 PM) *

Did he figure that Raven was simply poorer than he was? Maybe he simply warmed to the flame atronach's fiery presence? Or perhaps he figured Raven was another highwayman just trying to git enough money for a new pair of shoes? Just another of Cyridiil's wonderful mysteries I guess. wink.gif

In fact Raven was quite rich at that time (around 1000 gold) but maybe the Highwayman knew that if he's so rich, he'll be tough to bring down. cool.gif It's a real mystery, we'll see what happens when he passes the bridge the next time.

It's the Flame Atronach.

It's nice that mountain lions leave Maxical alone. Me, I use so many animal-related mods that I'm not even sure which animals are hostile and which not, in vanilla game.

Lothran has never heard that, at least I don´t think so. He likes the HighwayKhajiit so he always pays them rather than fight them. He may even go as far as bribing them into liking him more which gives them much more money than from the hold-up! laugh.gif rollinglaugh.gif

Just for funzies, here´s from the University when Lothran had just made Buffy´s Torch smile.gif

There are several things that could cause it (example: certain faction changes, a high enough personality, high fame or infamy might, and very possibly one of the mods is altering either their forced conversation or attack script/aggression AI; etc.

Nice light trick! I really like that!

Acadian
Lothie looks so handsome in his mage robe! Blue is definitely the best looking color for him - as well as very much in keeping with his unpretentious nature.

Buffy puffed up proudly when I showed her the pix of Lothie. "I'm just a Journeyman, but Lothran is a full-fledged Warlock! Isn't he wonderful!?!" biggrin.gif

You've got two great close-ups of Lothran here, love them both! The one at the alter is pretty exciting too, I didn't realize that enchanting something would create that field around the person! Awesome shots!

Once I´ve put the idea in your head it´s only a matter of time. You see, I have a knack for getting old players to fire up Oblivion again. Just look at Callidus evillol.gif

Colovia. Where men are real men, women are real men, and sheep are real nervous... wink.gif

laugh.gif Darnand is busted. It's always the quiet ones.

That's exactly where they are, mirocu. They had just promoted my favorite Colovian Cheese Master to NPC royalty.

And it took a while, but the gang is finally all together. smile.gif

I may be asking YOU how to make all these NPCs! laugh.gif Looks great having all the gang together. Now if only we could have an update... whistling.gif

So you´re also on a coronation tour, Grits? laugh.gif

Sure, left to right that's Darnand, Abiene, Lildereth, and Jerric.

Thanks, guys! It's a whole new game again. smile.gif

I remember when you were pretending that Mercrutio was Darnand. Now you are the master...
Acadian
Grits, I love how you so fluidly move your crew from Cyrodiil to Skyrim and back. When dealing with the differences between provinces, I think KC nailed the best attitude (paraphrasing with wild license here): 200 years? Screw it, just walk across the darn border, what's so hard about that?!? tongue.gif

Anyway, a couple of great screens! Wow, Darnand sure has a spiffy looking green bag! I have a jealous elf. wink.gif
mirocu
The reason Lothran went on his big coronation tour; a dead Khajiit Courier. I think it was Urjabhi.

And thanks to the formerly dead Kahjiit, you can now do it with no danger! biggrin.gif

One of Lothran´s favorite books
Acadian
mirocu, good to hear the coronation tour's going well! If there was immigration or births in Cyrodiil, perhaps preserving the limited number of NPCs would not be so critical, but for longer games, keeping them alive makes a big difference. I'm so glad to see that Carandial will now be safe as he roots around in Anutwyll.

Dear Mazoga's at the top of my coronation list. I can't recall, does she get on well with Lothie?
Grits
Rosa, it’s a shock to go back to their console games. Where is everyone? wacko.gif I remember when Jerric kept poor Erthor with him for ages because he was so lonely. That little guy just wanted to get back to the safety of Skingrad!

Acadian, it really is just as simple as a nice long walk. happy.gif I expect we’ll do less random border jumping once we get everyone situated in both provinces. The recent trip to ghastley’s Falkreath lit the way for sort of a seasonal migration. Oh, and Darnand’s robe is actually called wood elf-something. It’s his favorite, and I’m sure now he won’t wear anything else!

mirocu, I’m enjoying Lothran’s progress ensuring the safety of Cyrodiil’s citizens. smile.gif I confess to indulging in the occasional makeover when my characters do the same.
Acadian
Oh, Grits! Thank you for giving Schlera some fashion help. Buffy cringes every time she stops at Pells Gate and sees Schlera wearing a cuirass with long skirt! laugh.gif

Woot! Lothran's home for the winter! Glad he wore his furs for the trip! What a nice group of homecoming screenshots. Thanks for sharing. Lothran may count on at least one winter visit, as not even the Bruma cold will keep Buffy from popping up there to see him! biggrin.gif
SubRosa
Maybe his sister is blue because it is so cold? wink.gif

I see Lothran has a fire in his Bruma fireplace! Not many players can boast that.

Yep smile.gif Haven´t seen to many of them lately though, but luckily there now is one on the road east where Honmund rides on his horse. He tells Lothran he has to be quiet or he´ll spook the deer when in fact it is he who spooks them! laugh.gif

Wow, is that just pure Acrobatic skill, or how did he get all the way up there?
Grits
Great snowy pictures, mirocu! I particularly like In The Mountains. I love wandering around up there. smile.gif

Here are two seasonal themed shots from Jerric and Darnand’s last trip to ghastley's Falkreath. Here they are on a bridge still in Cyrodiil. Jerric stood there for a long time. Still Kyne’s child, as he would say.

Then he took some pity on Darnand. A mage does not complain about feeling cold in a snowstorm, but a little mundane fire goes a long way to lift the spirits.
Acadian
Great seasonal shots, Grits. I love those sets of stone steps, some with warming braziers along the unmarked trails north and west of Bruma.

He didn´t jump that height in one try but rather in steps, from one ruin piece to a higher ruin piece. He did utilize his Mighty Sleipner spell though which fortifies his Speed and Acrobatics smile.gif

You heard what mirocu does. Buffy casts a series of two spells that fortify acro by 100 for 17 and 15 seconds respectively; that boosts her acro to 300 and is just the ticket up to many great sniper perches. You know tmar over on BethSoft of course. His characters use a similar set of spells augmented by a load of enchanted gear to boost acro over 500 for their cathedral climbing antics. tongue.gif

Say hello to Eilidh inion Mhic Amhalghaidh, frsh off the boat at Anvil.

Fortunately, she had made some prior arrangments:
Some decent armour
Probing Ulfgar for news and rumours

Where could all this possibly be going...?
Anvil by night
Sleeping in the common room, at least there's a fire.
Profile: Count's Arms
Checking out Anvil
Waiting around outside the Fighter's Guild - a girl needs funds...
NOT a happy bunny
Rats. Seriously?

Rough pronunciation as follows:
Aylee(or Aylay) - (Ellie is a more modern corruption, but valid in our context) - inyeeun vic (or 'ic) Aulay (or Auley)
She knows herself as:
Aylee inyeeun vic Aulay
Which (very) roughly translated means: Ayley daughter of (the) son of Aulay
So there you go! smile.gif

A few from Eilidh's excursion into the countryside surrounding Anvil...

Blue Moon, apparently. Somebody or bodies lived here in peace and quiet, once
Trying on a frock - not really her but makes a change from armour, although she didn't wear it for long. She felt uncomfortably wearing someone else's clothes...
However, with the storm still raging there was nothing for it but to stay the night as best she could - Who slept here...? She doesn't know, but a mark on the bed gives a clue. Regardless, it was a troubled sleep and an uncomfortable night.
Anvil - the next day, this is their idea of a castle.
Morvayn likes her business but could do without her attitude; the fact that Enilroth was practically foaming at the mouth the moment the copper-haired Elf came through the door didn't help the rather straight-laced blacksmith's temper any either.
