Jennifer Lawrence's makeup in the full blue Mystique form took 7 hours to put on. As she put it: "I know everybody feels sorry for me, but we have so much fun. It's like a big sleepover. Except I'm naked and being painted..."

I'm watching V/H/S. It's a found footage movie.
It's better that most of the movies I've seen this week, save Grave Encounters, which honestly is much more interesting and creepy
Okay. Opinion has changed. This movie is creepier than grave encounters
SubRosa
Jan 20 2014, 08:06 PM
I liked Grave Encounters, it was a nice little horror movie that did not play fair. The second one did not do so much for me. I could have done without the first half hour of teenagers jerking it and acting like a-holes.
Check out The Frankenstein Theory. It is another small found-footage movie in a similar vein as GE.

I think you are thinking of Chris Tucker, who made a career out of being annoying...

Though come to think of it, Dennis Rodman did as well!
Still working my way through Magnum PI. I am into the 8th and final season now. The episodes have been kind of spotty. Sometimes you get a really good one, then one I have to make myself sit through. The end of the 7th season had a big episode which did not do much for me because it was about Michelle. I never liked what they did with her, because it all feels so incredibly forced. But at least it looks like they may have closed that chapter to Magnum's life for good.
The opener to season 8 was better, and the episodes that have followed. The ones near the end of 7 and the start of 8 tended to be very serious. They finally got more back to normal with one where Higgins is wearing Hawaiian T-Shirts, peeling out of the estate in the Ferarri, and partying all night. In the meantime Magnum is going to the orchestra in a suit and tie. It a delightful role-reversals, and by the end we were back to the same show we knew and loved from the first few seasons. So far the episodes after have been good. There was another funny one, and today a serious one again as Lt. Tanaka died.

A few years ago I bought the Man With No Name trilogy on blu-ray. One of my best movie investments ever. One of the interesting things about the films was that Eastwood's character was never meant to be the same man through all of them. But by the end of The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly Sergio Leone gave up on that, and we see Eastwood picking the poncho that he wore in Fistful of Dollars.

Wouldn't have been such good books/movies, but I would have saved countless lives in middle earth. Imagine it! They would've avoided all the pillaging and battles. No siege of Minas Tirith, no battle of the Hornburg etc etc etc....

I've always kind of thought the idea behind the journey in LOTR was kind of that the only reason that the Nazgul and their mounts didn't find them.
The war kept Sauron at least partially occupied and reports of hobbit sightings at battles and such kept the wraiths at the major battles looking for hobbits rather than scouring the countryside.

I thought the whole thing was that Sauron just wasn't thinking in terms of "what if they want to destroy the ring?" Combine that with the Nazgul losing the trail after losing their horses, Saruman likely running interference while he made a play for the ring, and of course Merry and Pippin were only brought along so that Gandalf and Aragorn could turn up with a Hobbit escort, and it all makes sense.
