So, I'm trying a new approach with Oblivion. Up until now the process has been play, then write, since I just like writing about my characters. The problem with that is that I'm not necessarily in the mood to do some writing when I finish playing.
What I'm doing now is playing, recording notes as I go, and then when I'm in the mood for writing I'll listen to my notes and go from there.
I've no idea if it'll make any difference, but I figure it's worth a try.

At the very least it should make the writing seem less like a chore. At this point I can spend three or fours hours writing up an hour's worth of gameplay, and not getting back into the game until it's done. I'm sure it has a detrimental effect on both my gaming and my writing.

Heh, I think I'm about the equivalent to a four year old with a crayon.
At the scool I went to, the rules were that you wrote with a pencil until your handwriting was good enough, then you got a pen. We had handwriting lessons with special books and everything. They only let me write with a pen to avoid sending me off to secondary school without being used to writing with one.
When it comes to writing, my hands are just messed up.
In school they gave us a workbook and said

At the scool I went to, the rules were that you wrote with a pencil until your handwriting was good enough, then you got a pen. We had handwriting lessons with special books and everything. They only let me write with a pen to avoid sending me off to secondary school without being used to writing with one.

All my teachers hated me!
Ah, but that school was great.
One year, my year finished everything half term early, so we spent literally half a term doing nothing. And since it was about the time the phantom menace came out, the teachers went Star Wars nuts. So we ended up in the staff room, sat on the floor watching the original Star Wars films.
Best half a term ever. Actually, best year at that school. I remember the teacher for my class, a gorgeous redhead she was....

I remember I had a teacher who accused me of cheating at maths, because I didn't show my working out. That pissed me off.
