With hearing so far gone, I confine myself pretty much to solo piano works these days, which I hear well enough to enjoy. I recently came upon a recording of
Beethoven's Piano Sonata No.7 Op.10 No.3 as performed by Louis Lortie. I like it very much. The first moment is played at a fast clip. The second, in contrast, is slower than one often hear it, to good effect though it took me a few measures to acclimate myself to the tempo. This particular video includes two different performances of the piece back to back. I'm not as taken with the second.
