Found myself in the mood for Haydn's "Gypsy Rondo" (also called Hungarian Rondo), the final movement of one of his piano trios. Listened to one (of the entire work) that did nothing for me. Then I found this filmed performance of
the Rondo alone, which I like very very much.
I also found what is, as of now, my favorite interpretation of a work linked, as a different performance, not long ago,
Liszt's "Dance of the Gnomes." This time it's a 1925 recording of Sergei Rachmaninoff, one of the acknowledged great composers and pianists.
