20210919 Adonnay’s Elven Weaponry, VH-OVB Panther River

Early the next day after a comfortable night’s sleep we began our journey south to the Panther River. As beautiful days go we soon found ourselves lost in the lush dense jungle. Blame it on Ithildin, the sword we recovered in Malada-Aldmerisel.

Talking as we walked south the discussion drifted to the origins of the sword Ithildin. That the artifact was ancient was indisputable. It was the script etched on Ithildin that drove the debate.

My Ladies all agreed it wasn’t Ayleid, Daedric, Man, Mer, or even Tsaesci in origin. They all laughed when I proposed that it could be Bird-men. No, they didn’t learn to write until meeting Topol the Pilot.

Elenya produced Liuthien’s diary which we had recovered in Sideways Cave years ago. Pointing to a passage Elenya said, “Ithildin’s enchantment is structured similarily to those used on the swords of Prince Liutasil and his captains Fenrod the Sword Master and Liuthien the Archer (Elfenwacht v2.2). They came from a place they called Noldor. This sword could be from there.”

“But we could read Liuthien’s diary. I can’t read the script on Ithildin.” Holding onto my arm, Pym nodded her head vigorously in agreement.

“She could be on to something,” Kaleah said while leafing through a copy of The Faerie and other texts on Sylphim Fey. “The script resembles Tengwar used by ancient Aelf.”

“Well, well. I always wondered where Adonnay got his inventory. Maybe the Archeology Guild should enlist him as an agent”

We were so engrossed in trying to decipher the script etched on the blade that we weren’t paying attention to where we were going. We just rambled about until we stumbled upon a cave not marked on Elenya’s map. Its name is Blood Clot Cave (OOO).

Now, that’s a vampire sounding name if I’ve ever heard one. Turned out it was several underground lakes connected by submerged tunnels occupied by peaceful Argonian smugglers. Blood Clot Cave in fact is the OOO Argonian Smugglers faction base of operations. The smugglers allowed us to roam freely as they told us about their fight against the Dunmer Slavers.

We left Blood Clot Cave in peace and continued stumbling around the jungle a bit more before finding Leafrot Cave. The name didn’t sound vampy but we decided to investigate anyway. Leafrot Cave is now rid of many decaying undead but not one vampire was found

Consulting her map Elenya (it’s about time) suggested Fort Redwater.

Hmmm, red water? Has a certain vampire ring to it. The most notable thing upon entering Fort Redwater was that there was no seductive feel to the place. No syrupy sweet maiden’s voice singing enticingly to me to lay down my arms and surrender. Something was wrong here but I couldn’t tell what.

Turning to Kaleah for her opinion I could see how tense and nervous she had become. She felt it too. She was fidgety, unable to relax, a real live wire. The place was psychotic. Yes, there were vampires here and they were real psycho killers.

As rabid cries of “I want your blood” echoed through the halls of the fort our doubts of vampires being here were soon proven to be unfounded. Blood crazed vampires rushed to attack us. We killed four of them in no time flat.
With the first zone of Fort Redwater now clear of vampires we entered the Halls of Glory.
They should have called it Hall of Gory.

In the beginning the Hall of Glory was quiet. A few coffins here and there but that was about it. The quiet dark corridors had lulled us into a false sense of comfort. We had been ignoring the steadily increasing noise rising from deep in the hall.

Rounding a corner we came to runway leading to a staircase. Just before the stairs sat a large coffin. The staircase led down to what may have been at one time a grand ballroom. From down below we could hear the rabid vampires crying for our blood.

My Ladies, hearing the invitations to dance raced down the stairs to find their partners. Surveying the floor below

I noticed that the dance floor was packed with vampires. Not wanting My Ladies to be overwhelmed by suitors I summoned some help. The Sisters of Insanity eagerly responded as did a cloven hoofed Bloody Succubus, and Marcus the Dremora Lord.

It’s good that Marcus came this time as there were several female vampires that needed his special attention. What the gigolo he is.

Heading to the staircase to go down and join the dance I was met by Master Vostrus, Hindaril’s Chosen. Outfitted in Imperial Watch armor I at first mistook Vostrus as an officer of the Watch come to assist in clearing Fort Redwater. A glimpse of his fangs told me how wrong I was.

Dueling around the large coffin the fiery strikes of Light of Dawn began to take their toll on Master Vostrus. He broke and ran down the steps trying to get lost in the grand melee below.

Giving chase I cornered him and ended his reign of terror on the Panther.

With dusting of Master Vostrus one of the Panther River clan leaders had been eliminated. Now I turned my attention to helping my Ladies cleanup the place. A glorious day! All told we dusted 12 vampires in the Hall of Glory.

Exhausted, we looted the place and cleaned out a corner for a well deserved rest.
Acadian
Some folks spend their time doing chores like dusting; others prefer vampire hunting. In the Jandanga's case, they turned out to be one in the same. tongue.gif

That first picture of the forest is simply beautiful.

Oh, and always nice to have Twinkle shining light on things.

20210922 SNUs – Fort Redwater Crypt

Rested, we headed back to the fort’s entrance. Nearing the exit of the Halls of Glory we noticed a door we had missed on the way in.

“Feache, sorry about the confusion earlier,” Kaleah said. “There was so much going on that I couldn’t explain it. I think it had something to do with what’s behind that door. It’s just not right.”

Master Vostrus was only one of the Panther River clan leaders that needed to be eliminated. The thought that others could be lurking behind the door before us compelled us to investigate. We opened the door to Redwater Crypt and entered.

Proceeding with the usual extreme caution didn’t prevent danger from finding us. Our first encounter was with an amorous lich. She tried convincing me that I’d be better off staying with her rather than continuing on. My Ladies had other thoughts and convinced the lich she was wrong.

After that all was quiet through the long dark hallways until we came to an open doorway. There we were ambushed by five vampires. I really shouldn’t say ambushed. With their bloodcurdling screams they gave no appearance whatsoever of being stealthy. The vampires were easily overcome

Crossing a room and passing through another doorway we stepped into a wide subterranean plaza. The walls of this chamber were at least six stories high. In speechless wonder we marveled at the number of what we thought were apartment balconies. Who could be living here?

The closer we got the more apparent it became that our first impression was wrong… kind of. Those weren’t balconies leading to apartments they were shelves holding coffins and burial vaults.

Maybe they were apartments but not for the living. What is this place a vampire hotel/motel?

“Mother of all creation what is that!”

“Crypt-Keeper!” shouted Elenya when a mountain of a creature stepped from around a corner.

Kaleah bristled; her fiery arrows flew through the air at an impossible rate while Elenya and Pym charged ahead to meet the terror.

The battle with the Crypt-Keeper woke the residents of the vampire hotel and soon the plaza was being overrun with the bloodsuckers. Four well armored swordsmen supported by six lightly armored assassins, seven bowmen, and two mages all screaming for our blood poured out of the coffins stored in the walls of the plaza.

Well we came to fight vampires now here they are. Calling on the usual support we rightly laid into the Crypt Keeper and his guests.

When it was over and all was quiet we surveyed the area as we looted the place.

The Blood Works. Pumping fresh blood to all the residents.

The Dining Room. A vampire feast of fresh hearts to eat and blood to drink.

The Trophy Room. The most notable item is the Serpent Dagger resting on a red velvet cushion.

The Treasury Room. Big heap of treasure too heavy and bulky to carry we left where it lay.

The Light of Dawn has now consumed the life force of 280 vampires. Twenty more should purge the vampire taint completely from the blade. Where can I find twenty more vampires?

At the far end of the Crypt we found a doorway marked with the odd name of Redwater Crypt Entrance. The name made us wonder, “I this is the entrance did we come in through the back door?”

Before I could say “in we go” Kaleah suggested that we cash in the loot first and come back later.

“It’s too heavy and I can’t move well carrying all this stuff!” she said with a petulant little scowl.

How could I say no to that Dremora blade waving in front of my face.

Using the Midas Astral Gateway we set a mark and teleported to our home and OVB Guild Hall in Leyawiin.

Wow, that's impressive, Feache. I mean Jandaga.

Are you doing the Panther River part of OVB or some other quest? I remember it took awhile to find that vampire lair. Edit: I see now, you did Panther River last update. Really outstanding architecture with these lairs, by the way.

Really uh... interesting names OOO gives their dungeons. emot-ninja1.gif

Ha ha! laugh.gif

You did a really good job building suspense during this part... as noises build and they are distracted looking up old tomes and whatnot.

I am still confused though; was Halls of Gory part of Vampire Hunting? I have no memory of any of that, if so (not that that matters... my memory is terrible for gaming events sometimes).

I have no idea where to look. Traveling from the north and looking at the map I tried to choose locations with names fitting vampires. Fort Redwater was my third choice. Bloodrun Cave also sounds suitable.

Blood Clot Cave, yeah.

You are correct . While the Halls of Glory is part of Fort Redwater the vampire Master Vostrus is part of Vampire Hunting. Where the other Panther River vampires are located, I don't know. Hope I don't have to search every fort and cave along the Panther. For now though, I'll explore this SNUs addition to Fort Redwater.

An amorous lich? That’s a terrifying thought. I have seen an amorous hagraven in ESO and that’s bad enough.

Your description of the tall wall featuring countless ‘balconies’ was great – and vampiric coffin shelves came right to mind, given where you were.

Very handy to be able to summon help to match what that crypt keeper had for minions.

What a hoot seeing the Jandanga so loaded up with loot he could hardly move! laugh.gif

Hagraven, I think I'd rather deal with the lich. After all the fine is only 500 gold.

Thanks.

The Jandaga's Conjuration skill is 105 before enhancements. He thinks conjuration is the most powerful skill and for obvious reasons the most beautiful.

The Ladies would have help carry some of the Big Heap had it not been for their overriding fear of breaking a nail.

20210925 Snu’s – Redwater Entrance to the Crypt
It’s a shame my Ladies wouldn’t help carry the Big Treasure Heap but I perfectly understand how devastating a broken nail can be. Selling that heap would have added hours more to the time we spent in the shops. Why we may have had enough time to come to a consensus on what exactly the Crypt Keeper was.

Some of us thought he was one of the living rock Fae creatures. Others suggested it was a Dwemer construct. Whatever it was we all agreed that it was a chilling thought to think there’s a vampire resort hotel existing so close to the empire’s capitol city.

Returning to Redwater Crypt via the Midas Astral Gateway we entered Redwater Entrance to the Crypt. We ascended a steep narrow staircase to a platform shrouded in total darkness. Twinkle was a little slow coming up the steps leaving us to stumble around in the dark. Lights from a few torches could be seen far off in the distance. Took one step too many toward them and fell off the platform.

Thankfully, after a maybe a twenty foot drop we splashed into the inky-black waters of a deep lake. That may have been the only good thing about it. Having sent our Guiding Light back to where she came so Twinkle wouldn’t extinguish herself in the water (she doesn’t swim well) we swam around in the dark water for the longest time. Starlight, night vision, and water breathing spells are invaluable in situations like this. Eventually we found a rope ladder that took us back up to the platform we fell off of.

Did I just hear someone say, “dessert anyone?”

Calling Twinkle back to light our way we were greeted with the gleaming grins of three vampires emerging from a small doorway in the wall to our left. Later as we were collecting their dust we sincerely apologized for having spoilt their dinner plans.

Investigating the room that the vampires emerged from we discovered an altar dedicated to some vile vampire deity, providing they have one that is.. On the altar lay the drained body of the vampire’s latest victim.

Now that we were now able to get a better look at the place we were left wondering how to describe it. Aside from the one small room with the altar all we could see was three stone masonry towers extending up from the lake bottom up to the roof of this vast cavern. A series of wooden ramps connected the towers together. Twinkle’s light is not strong enough to show us if there was anything beyond the towers.

Climbing the wooden ramps we explored the tower structure from bottom to top. No answers were found to the questions; who built it and why?

Luck was with us this day. We were about ready to call it off and leave Fort Redwater the way we came when we saw, much to our surprise, an Orc Adventurer winding his way up the wooden ramps. Up this ramp, down that one, double back here, and then he stepped off a platform into what appeared to black nothingness. He didn’t fall to his death. He just kept on walking.

From our vantage point we studied the route he took on the wooden ramps. Following his route we managed to locate the spot where the Orc Adventurer stepped off the walk. Off in the dark distance we could see the Orc’s torchlight bobbing along as he searched for treasure.

Following the bouncing ball of light took us past a crypt. We stopped to see if the Orc had missed anything of value. It was a small seemingly insignificant one room crypt. I say “seemingly insignificant” because of the very deadly falling floor trap we nearly fell into. It’s something you expect defending the resting place of a high ranking lord or a great treasure. We found neither here.

Leaving the crypt we found the Orc s combing the area near a crumbling roundhouse keep. The Orc Adventurer was inside the keep sifting through a bone pit when we caught up with him. Finished with the bone pit the Orc moved onto another room in the roundhouse, The Shrine.

The Shrine, how can one explain all the green moss covered walls and lush vegetation growing in such a sunless cavern other than that the Mother of All Creation had laid her hand to rest here?

Two things dashed our hopes of finding a shrine to Nir. The first was discovering the remains of a pilgrim. In his dying note he blames his wife for demanding he take a sacrifice to this vampire overrun shrine. Now trapped he hopes an adventurer will find him. “Everyone wants to be an adventurer these days surely one will find me and help me escape,” he writes.

Hmmm, by the meager amount of gold we found on his person we wondered what or more likely who was the sacrifice.

The second was the shrine itself. The sense of evil emanating from the idol was overwhelming. If this once was a holy place, it surely is not one now.

Leaving the Shrine we picked up the trail of the Orc once again. His path took us past a second crypt. On our approach a voice called out, “Who’s there?”

Three vampires didn’t wait for an answer before attacking. They tried to prevent us from entering the crypt but failed. This crypt is much like the first only twice the size of crypt #1 and without the floor trap. The second room was large and empty except for a large locked treasure chest in one corner and a large grey boulder sitting in another corner.

Ha, the Orc missed one. Maybe the joke is on us for when we opened the chest the dark boulder in the far corner began to uncurled. A massive armored vampire guard hound came charging across the floor.

We were able to defeat the hound and loot the chest before leaving the Shrine with the hope of catching up with the Orc again.

Crossing a rope and plank bridge we were saddened to find the Orc’s body lying in the bushes on the other side. Apparently attacked as he was heading toward the door that we could see just a few feet away. Sad to think he had let his guard down when he was so close to leaving this forsaken place.

Opening the door and stepping through, we found ourselves standing in Redwater Slough.

I must say, those dungeons are impressive. Reminds me of Two Worlds 2 a lot. And a rock that turned out to be a sleeping hound - that's a classic! biggrin.gif

You aren't kidding about broken nails. They can buy nails at Goddess Store if I'm not mistaken. unsure.gif And they count as armor I think, so they can break. indifferent.gif

Vampires do worship deities, although I don't remember which ones. Should be on this page, but I don't have time to read. Edit: Ninja'd by Lena. emot-ninja1.gif

Good Lord - that's ugly! If that's a shrine, it would be to Sithis - this is not Molag Bal. But I tend to agree with you that this was most likely just house decor, vampire style. tongue.gif

Those are pretty violent vampires. Normally feeding on a person does not kill the victim, or else soon there would be no cattle left. wink.gif But of course some (many) vampires turn into beasts and just slaughter everyone in sight... *sigh*

Those orc adventurers seem to run into fatal trouble with good frequency. kvright.gif Good thing they seem to have a reasonable breeding program to keep spawning more. Without an immortal crown of 'setessential', dear, poor Sir Mazoga would often run into the same kind of overwhelming odds while adventuring.

"No one bests an Orc!!! Oh..."

Yeah, I hear you. We ran into an Orc Adventurer just yesterday. He watched us loot a chest, then attacked. What was he thinking? A Battlemage, a Captain of the Guard and an Assassin... versus one Orc Adventurer? Hrmph... sad.gif

Hmmm, bet the Orc's last words were "Why won't you die!" and then he did.
Lena Wolf
Yeah, I think he also mentioned something about being able to do it all day... But that didn't work out.

20210930 VH-OVB – Redwater Slough
Opening the door to Redwater Slough we proceeded along the main tunnel to a door which was barred with a very hard lock. Thankfully before I could prepare to cast my Unlock Anything spell we were ambushed by three vampires. Sloshing about in the ankle deep red water, we repulsed their surprise attack.

The vampires turned and fled down a side tunnel. We gave chase.

Silly vampires, the “I only have to be faster than you” defense only works for lions. One by one starting with the slowest we caught the three vampires and ended their existence. That left us thinking, “Where were they running to?”

Heading down the tunnel in the direction the vampires were running brought us to a small room. There standing before a richly finished wooden coffin was a figure shrouded in dull black enchanted ebony armor. A shield
“Embrace of Doom” emblazoned with a grinning skull stood propped up against the coffin.

“Lord Hindaril,” hissed Kaleah. “Your stench disgusts me.”

“I know that voice,” Hindaril turned and sneered “So the apostate has come with her toy to test her former master? I will enjoy sending you back to Oblivion.”

Hindaril readied his shield, drew his Elmwood sword “Whisper”, raised his sword arm high, and disappeared (arms and armor courtesy OOO).

Rushing forward I took a wide swing at the area where Hindaril once stood.

A lucky strike with the Light of Dawn managed to briefly light the dark vampire up. Returning to view Hindaril summoned a golem as a distraction as he tried to edged past and flee down the tunnel.

Only Kaleah stood between Hindaril and his escape. Drawing a fiery blade in favor to her bow, Kaleah set him ablaze for all to see. That gave us time to attack from him from the rear.

It was over quickly. Elenya suggested that we collect his ashes in separate bag and mark it with his name. Good idea.

Returning to the locked door blocking the main tunnel I studied it for a moment. Resolved to endure the snickers and cat calls from the gallery I prepared to cast the spell by first, as always with Very Hard Locks, removing all my armor. With a flick of the fingers the spell was cast.

Um, nothing happened. Everything seemed to work properly but one very long moment, nothing. Just as I’m beginning to think here comes the laughter (they love it when I fail) the door lock sprang open.

Through the door we followed the tunnel until we came to junction. A side tunnel shot off to the right. Something about the tunnel straight ahead gave all of us an odd feeling. We continued onward straight ahead. A flooded section of tunnel required us to swim in the bloody red water. When we surfaced, we found ourselves in the middle of a red pool.

Voices of several vampires shouting their cries for blood could be heard on one side of the cavern. We swam to the opposite bank and climbed out. Master Chabeaude and his two companions ran along the banks of the red pool attempting to catch us before we could recover from the long swim under water. They almost succeeded.

Master Chabeaude summoned an ancient wraith and along with his two lieutenants they gave us a hard fight but the ending was not in question. With the demise of Master Chabeaude something told us the Panther River issue had been solved. Roland will surely be happy to know this.

With the battle over we searched the area around the red pool for anything of value. In a chest we found 370 gold pieces and a key. The Redwater Slough Key we discovered fit the door I magically unlocked to enter this area.

On Master Chabeaude’s person we found a note speculating on how vampire dust could be a key component in resurrecting dead vampires.

The note also debates the wisdom of keeping the Patriarch, Lord Hindaril caged in the lower portion of the Redwater Slough. By the sound of it, Hindaril’s two chosen are trying to usurp Hindaril’s position. Wouldn’t Chabeaude and Vostrus have been surprised and shocked to know that by using the route we used to get here, the ancient patriarch could have walked out anytime he desired and most likely did.

Makes me wonder was Hindaril the proprietor of the vampire hotel in the crypt or was the crypt actually a barracks housing Hindaril’s secret vampire army. But that begs to question what is going on here? All these vampire infestations coming at nearly the same time gives the impression of some kind of organized activity.

Leaving that red pool of red water we found the exit to this cave. Stepping out into the open air we found ourselves standing on the banks of the Panther River just a short distance from Redwater Fort. We definitely took the long way around to get to this spot but thinking of all the vampires we cured it was worth it. Amazing.

Choosing a soft spot in the loamy ground and made a crude lean-to out large fern fronds and curled up for a nap.

Before falling asleep I asked Kaleah about Hindaril. She told a complicated story that happened long before we met. The ancient vampire had summoned her to bring a victim to him. It’s no fun being yanked about to do the bidding of some disgusting arrogant fool such as Hindaril, she told me. She fought his control but he was too powerful. She finished her tale be declaring that I am NOT her toy.
Lena Wolf
Wow, Lord Hindaril! Lena killed him at some point too - the witch wanted his ashes to make that cure for vampirism potion. But that's the thing with ancient vampires - they rise again. I wonder if the ashes would eventually run out? ohmy.gif

Another busy day in the lives of these vampire slayers!

Clever and quick thinking by Kaleah to light up Hindaril with her flaming blade for all to see.

20211004 Naked Nord, PT Artifacts – Fort Gold-Throat
“Jandaga, Fort Gold-Throat is just north of here,” Elenya mentioned during breakfast “Not too far away really.”

Yes, we need to check on the Battlemage detachment sent to capture the witch.

It didn’t take long to walk to Fort Gold-Throat but when we saw the remnants of battle we suspected we were too late. Our fears were confirm when we met Battlemage Thoudiyal as she was fleeing Fort Gold-Throat.

Wounded and battle weary she told us that the detachment was detected upon their arrival. Instead of laying siege to the fort they decided on a direct assault. Why didn’t the uncontested entrance give the battlemages pause to think that they were walking into a trap?

Thoudiyal was the sole survivor of their over confidence. Physically and more importantly mentally Thoudiyal was in no condition to continue the fight. After patching up her physical wounds I sent her to the Universitum. The healers there will put her right in no time.

Exploring the fort proved to be depressing. Bodies were everywhere. Every step along the way the horrific signs of the failed assult pointed a finger to our failure to get here in time. Proceeding forward along the main hallway took us to a balcony overlooking a large room with three levels. There was no way to get down to the next level of the room other than jumping.

On the balcony below us we could see goblins patrolling a portion of the room’s middle level. It was especially disheartening to see that Goblins had already arrived to begin looting the corpses. Like vultures they waste no time when it comes to picking over the spoils of a battlefield. Jumping down to the balcony below us we quickly cleared the area of goblins.

Looking over the guard rail of the middle level’s balcony we could see the bottom level of the room. Bodies of witches and battlemages lay everywhere. That must have been where the trap was sprung.

That’s when I had the shock of the day. There at my feet was a Dwemer Gravity Mine (PT Artifacts). Good Goddess, I had almost stepped on it. We were this close to being rat food.

If Viola had employed these against the battlemages then Thoudiyal was indeed lucky to have made it out alive. Ever so gently I picked it up and gave it to Kaleah to keep it securely tucked away.

Crossing the bridge we found a hallway leading down to the bottom level. Just before we reached the entrance to the kill zone we spotted three witches fighting goblins in the hallway. Viola Tarensa’s Second-in-Command was among them. They were fighting a couple of goblins when we caught them. Joining the fight we took out our frustrations out on both goblins and witches. It wasn’t long before only the Second-in-Command was left standing and she didn’t stand much longer.

With Viola Tarensa’s Second-in-Command now lying dead by my Khopesh of Blueflame, we searched her body and found a key.

We found the way down to the room of death and discovered that the only way out was the way we came in. There was a door but it was locked requiring a key. Without the key the battlemages were trapped. With nowhere to run the Battlemages were cut to pieces. Again we bemoaned the fact that we were a day late. If only the company had waited just one day longer.

Yep, as suspected the key we found on the body of Viola Tarensa’s Second-in-Command opened the door to Viola Tarensa’s Lair, we continued on. On our way down a long dark hallway a couple witches and their body guards tried to prevent us from reaching an old wooden door. They failed. The old wooden door swung open and we stepped into Viola’s boudoir

Viola approaches and graciously offers a choice of either death or to join her in a new kind of adventure. Giving me time to think and to provide a bit of an advertisement, she walks away to her dresser, disrobes, fluffs the pillows on the bed, and then struts back stark naked.

“Well, what’ll it be, Big Boy?” she asked.

While Viola was parading around I thought of all the time I had spent working with the witches in the surrounding the Iliac Bay, rather enjoyed that. Well, I was about to say “I’m gonna move you baby!” when a poke in the back… err, a thought occurred to me. Remembering the deceiving sirens Signy Home-Wrecker and Faustina Cartia from Anvil, I declined the offer.

“As I have said before, you could not have made a better choice,” I heard Elenya whisper.

Viola on the other hand felt highly insulted. She called for her guards to come and engage us in a heated discussion. When it was over Viola Tarensa lay dead and her coven of witches was no more. Searching her chambers for Hrogar’s family heirloom we found his stolen hammer stuffed in a bin with several other weapons. We took them all just in case we meet someone else is missing theirs.

Of course along with informing Raminus Polus of this we also need to inform Ar'ahnir and Hrogar that this thieving murderess has been hunted down. Turning to my Ladies I asked to think about whether to go to The Imperial City first or Leyawiin.

Right now Viola’s bed is empty and I’m tired.

(You can accept Viola’s offer. There’s a little blackout and you wake up by the bed naked, stripped of all your possessions. Viola calls you a fool and then she with her guards attack. I don’t think female characters get this option.)

Here is another proof of poor briefing of battlemages. It sounds like they did not know the type of enemy they were sent after. It sounds like they expected the enemy to play by the rules, to do the honourable thing and stand and fight, to set no traps and to never use invisibility to their advantage... I think even rats can do better than that! I wonder who trains those battlemages? I wonder if Jagar Tharn is still around somehow? ohmy.gif

Good job not falling for the fluffed up pillows, Jandaga. wink.gif
Acadian
Too bad about those impatient battlemages, but glad that the Jandanga and his ladies were able complete this conven-busting mission.

Good call on declining the deceptive witch's predictably treacherous invitation to her bed.

It is too bad they didn't get to the battlemages sooner. Is it possible to do so in the game? Like, is this one of those timed quests (like a Daggerfall quest)?

Too bad also that we don't get to see Viola wiling her charms. wub.gif There is a lady in Bravil (Better Cities) who tricks us into sleeping with her, then she steals all our stuff. My first PC character fell victim to her. ohmy.gif I was pretty pissed.

By looking at the mod in TES4Edit the way it looks to me is you'll never get there in time. There is only one possible ending.

Oh she was advertising pretty hard as she strutted around stark naked (I have pics). She was hard to resist. Had it not been for being poked in the back who knows what might have happened.

I remember the Better Cities gal. Isn't there a second sweetie that takes you to her appartment, kicks you out the next morning, and never makes the offer again? I seem to remember that. The Jandaga felt so inadequate after that that it took the Ladies a week to cheer him up.

20211008 Naked Nord, VH-OVB, The Collector

With Hrogar’s hammer in hand we quickly traveled From Fort Gold-Throat we hurried to Leyawiin to return the hammer to Hrogar. Arriving at the Leyawiin jail we were told that Hrogar had been served his time and had been freed. He's still in town and should be able to find him walking around town.

We found Hrogar, shirtless and barefoot wearing only his best pants walking down the street near The Dividing Line. Overjoyed to have his hammer back he insisted on us taking 1000 septims for our trouble. Slinging the hammer across his back where it stuck like glue, he walked on down the street.

On our way to the Mages Guild to deliver Garridan’s Tears to S’drassa we noticed someone standing in the cemetery. It was Ar'ahnir holding his deathwatch for his friend J’roga. I joined Ar’ahnir in J’roga Deathwatch. Laying J’roga’s steel bow which we had recovered from the Witch Viola, at the grave site, Ar’ahmir thanked us for such a worthy gift.

Over at the Mages Guild hall we delivered Garridan’s Tears to S’drassa. Excited by acquiring the stones S’drassa paid us 2500 septims. Now I wish I’d kept one for myself.

Once we were outside my Ladies, tired of carrying so much loot, threatened to make me carry it all (again) unless we went shopping at the Imperial City’s infamous money pit… um, The Goddess Store first. Oh OK,

The Guild Guide Yaranil was nearby. Yaranil handed us a copy of the latest Stranded Light Courier. The arrival of Ahtize, the new spellmaker at Merendin was the feature story. She then sent us on our way to the Imperial City.

Arriving at the Universitum Arcanorum we found Master Wizard Raminus Polus nervously pacing to and fro in the lobby. I know, especially after the disaster at Fort Gold-Throat, that I’ve been neglecting my Archmage duties but there is so much to do these days. Raminus is going to get a stern talking to. He better get things together or we may have to consider a re-assignment. Let’s say Vvardenfell maybe or somewhere deep in the Black Marsh.

Raminus was relieved to see us and to hear of Viola Tarensa's death. I was just about to give him his choice of re-assignment, when he interrupted.

“When Thoudiyal returned with the bad news of the death of our battlemages, we feared the worst had happened. Thank the Gods that you arrived when you did to remove the danger that emanated from her and her fatuous supporters. Be assured Archmage that new operational tactics and training procedures are already being formalized for your review.”

“Good, have them on my desk in the morning.”

Leaving the Universitum we pay a visit to the Order of the Virtuous Blood headquarters. Roland is amazed at when we turn in 41 bags of vampire dust. After we report that the Panther River area has been cleared of vampires, Roland calls me “the best vampire hunter in Cyrodiil, ever”.

Kaleah leaned in close Elenya and whispered, “How come Roland never mentions how we, the Jandaga’s faithful companions bag their fair share of the vampires.”

Roland Jenseric has another quest for us. Vampires are causing “Unending Woe in Kvatch“. The people of Kvatch have enough problems trying to worry about while they get Kvatch rebuilt. They don’t need the added pressure of a vampire infestation.

Our next stop was to deliver the carving from the High Fane to Umbacano and to claim the bounty. Since we’ve been so successful Umbacano offered us another job. Herminia Cinna, a rival collector has in her possession the crown of the last king of the Ayleids that Umbacano desires.

For quite some time Umbacano has been trying unsuccessfully to buy the crown from Herminia. Umbacano hopes that if I pose as an interested third party collector I might be able acquire the crown for him. He gives us 1000 septims for expenses with instructions to keep what I don’t spend.

Hmmm, if I do a litle of this and a little of that we can keep all the coin.

“Don’t even think about it,” Elenya warned. “You always get caught.”

On the way to the shops we bumped into Herminia Cinna. She instantly saw through the ruse and refused to sell the crown. When asked why she tells us that she thinks Umbacano’s motives are not pure. From her studies she believes that the crown has some minor magical powers of its own, but she believes it also has control of some other magic that Umbacano wishes to possess. She believes it is for the best if he does not acquire it.

Herminia does offer an alternative. She knows where another Ayleid crown is located. I could go to the Ayleid ruin of Lindai, get the crown there, and give that one to Umbacano. The pompous clown won’t know the difference between the Ayleid Crown of Nenalata and the Ayleid Crown of Lindai.

“Sounds good to me!” declared Elenya. “We really don’t like sleazy Umbacano either.”

Well, I guess that settles that. The Ladies then took off to do their shopping while I walked over to the Tiber

Septim Hotel to pay S’razirr his share for turning on Maric. He wasn’t there. After waiting for an hour or so I left.

It’s getting late and I had told the Ladies that we’d meet for dinner. I don’t have to worry about finding them, I know where they are. Guess I better stop at the bank along the way.

20211011 Rumple, PTArtifacts, OOO-Path of Iron – Fort Huronn

When we awoke the following morning, Raminus’ report on “Battlemage Tactics and Training Procedures” was on my desk in the Archmage Quarters as requested. I gave it a review and approved it while Elenya plotted a course for the day on her map.

Later over breakfast Elenya explained to the rest of us, “We can go north to Fort Horunn and recover the Skull of the Mountain. Then by heading east we can hit Lidail for the Ayleid Crown. After that the fun really begins. It’s on to Chorrol for more vampire fun then south to find the vampires menacing Kvatch.”

You know, working for the Order of the Virtuous Blood has become more time consuming then I thought it would be.

No matter, if all goes well in a week or two we’ll be sitting around the fireplace sipping wine at our Sutch Manor. Our bags packed, we started off for Horunn.

It was late afternoon when we arrived at Fort Horunn. Having passed by here many times before we knew where Fort Horunn was but for various reasons never thought to explore it. Seen one ruined fort, seen them all.

Having to burn a troll and squash a couple of giant spiders change changed our attitude. We drew our weapons and entered Fort Horunn intent on squashing some bugs. Ho boy were we surprised to find the place was a major gathering place for Minotaur. They were big, strong and foul tempered to say the least.

Fighting Minotaur all the way, we passed through the main level of fort Horunn. Looking for The Skull of the Mountain, we didn’t find it here.

The next level of Fort Horunn the Hall of the Eternal Flame held more Minotaur. Again we didn’t find what we’re looking for. There was one item of interest, a brazier burning brightly with no apparent source of fuel. Is that the Eternal Flame? If there is a story behind this brazier we didn’t find it.

Attacks by the Minotaur lessened drastically when we entered the Legate Assembly section of Fort Horunn. Until we entered a large room with two levels then things heated up again. We killed a couple Minotaur before crossing a bridge that spanned the lower level of the room. Half way across the bridge we came upon the body of a dead Breton treasure hunter.

Hoping to find a clue as to what he was searching for or who sent him here we searched his body. Finding nothing of importance we stood up and as we did we noticed a group of Minotaur having a family squabble at the far end of the bridge. Of course when the big one, and I do mean BIG, noticed us they stop their internal bickering and focused their ire on us.

The Lord of Horunn was not someone you’d like to meet alone in a dark alley. Had he had with him some of the mature bulls like the ones we had fought earlier in the fort the outcome may have been different. As it was, with only a couple cows and a hand full of young Minotaur the end was in our favor.

The whole of Fort Horunn was now quiet and our search for the Skull of the Mountain began in earnest.

Starting with the little alcove directly behind, where we fought the Lord of Horunn there were five chests. Each chest held a significant amount of treasure but no Skull of the Mountain. Sitting on a pedestal in the center of the niche sat the Helmet of Melus Petilius (OOO).

Try as I might I just could not pick it up.

Kaleah snickered as she whispered to Elenya, “I’ve told him before that he needs to talk to Melus Petilius.”

Down in the lower level of the room we found a Chest of Endless Flesh (PTArtifacts). The red leather satchel had an unnatural glisten to it. As I wondered what it was Kaleah suggested that it could be from one of the Daedric Princes’ realms. After a close examination she supposed that it will produce two random creature ingredients per day after its first activation.

The easy stuff picked over we still haven’t found what we’re looking for. Twice we searched the entire fort top to bottom, no luck. I was standing in dark corner of the Legate Assembly when I began thinking back to Vvardenfell and the search for the Puzzle Box. Searched for hours and then suddenly there it was sitting there in plain sight.

Then like so many years ago the light from a torch, this time it was Twinkle, glinted of something. There in the corner partially hidden by large rocks sat an unopened chest. Investigating the chest rewarded us with the Skull of the Mountain.

Naturally we weren’t able to read it. We’ll have to go back to the Imperial city and contact Tar-Meena about the Skull of the Mountain.

20211017 Univerisitum Arcanorum, Midas Magic,
Set sail before the sun
Feel the warmth that's just begun
Share each and every dream

(The Moody Blues)

The choice is to continue on our original course or go back to the Imperial City to consult with Tar-Meena about the Skull of the Mountain. We decided, each for their own reason, to return to the Imperial City. Upon seeing the Skull of the Mountain book, Tar-Meena told us she would need a couple of days to study it. My Ladies let out a joyous cheer while I nervously fumbled around in my empty pockets.

While the Ladies terrorized the clothing and jewelry shops in the city, the Jandaga put on one of his best robes and spent his day visiting some of the newer departments added when the old university was remodeled and renamed Univerisitum Arcanorum.

Museum of Ayleid Antiquities’ Rylindasil informs me that the current display is from the Late Middle Merethic Era. Is this the skeleton of one of the Ayleid kings?

Museum of Dwemeri Artifacts Velina Daleth directs me to their most recent discovery, a Dwemeri Sphere. Recently discovered in the Bethamez ruin near Gnisis, no one knows what its intended functions is.

Department of Arcane Sciences; just missed a lecture. The lector left as soon as he saw the Arch Mage walk into the hall. In one side room a caged Dremora, Anhaedra, was found. All Anhaedra would say is that this is better than Maar Gan.

Department of Magical Practicum, another lecture hall, had a most unusual item on display. If you can see it, that is.

(Oht Quam Oht Fraternity, the frat house I had mistaken as another Better Cities tavern.)

With nothing to do for awhile I paid a visit to Oht Quam Oht. Just to ensure the fraternity was abiding by university rules. Nearly choked on my beer when I learned the fraternity was founded in honor of Midas Aurumius. Surely this was a flagrant violation to the Arch Mage Traven’s orders.

Why was the frat house allowed to remain active? Midas Aurumius is rumored to have the backing of very powerful and influential individuals both financially and politically. Could it be true?

With administrative duties taken care of, the Jandaga stopped by Midas Magic - Spell and Sundries Midas. Recognizing the Jandaga as a previous customer and maybe more importantly the current Arch Mage the store owner, Midas Aurumius, didn’t object to the Jandaga browsing through the books on the shelves.

Four were very interesting;

Skimming through Midas’ copy of “On Lycanthropy” starts the quest “Where Tiger?”. From Midas’ handwritten notes the Jandaga learned of a Khajiit by the name of Jo’Mahma, who stole items from Midas. This Jo’Mahma has been staying at Oht Quam Oht and any effort in finding this Khajiit should start there. The book also contained a very interesting spell recipe, “Midas Silver Bullet” that might prove useful.

Reading “A Warlock's Luck” starts the quest “A Warlock's Luck”, and it contains a few recipes. The reading also enables Ungarion at A Warlock’s Luck in Bravil to sell three new unique spells.

The book "The Prime Morpholith" described the location of a ruin named Khaza-dun. This could be an Ayleid ruin of great reward and danger. The book also contained spell recipes to summon a Balrog and to open an Oblivion gate.

One book “Eye off the Beholden” tells of a horrid many-eyed creature. Ha, we have already fought this one and plucked out the mother’s large central eye.

The Jandaga bought what books he could and took notes on the two he couldn’t so Elenya could research them and add pertinent information to her maps and quest journal. The Cute Elves are definitely cute but they are also very fastidious note takers.

Down in the basement knowing that this Astral Gate (we’ve been there) takes us to the Portal Gateway we ignore it and searched the rest of the room. Passing by a section of brick wall a brief sensation is felt. A closer inspection reveals a secret door.

Surprisingly the door opens to a long staircase. Descending deep below the Universitum Arcanorum,Midas has hidden The Great Astral Gate. It’s inactive. Now, how to activate it?

Returning to Midas’s basement and activate the Astral Gate there. From a vantage point on the Portal Gateway a small island can be seen floating in the void. How do I get there?

Returning to the Universitum Arcanorum courtyard I found a seat and sat down to await the return of my Ladies. Better talk over what I discovered with them.

Later, much later:

“Look at the poor dear,” Kaleah cooed over the sleeping Jandaga. “He’s been running around like a child in a candy store. What he needs is a hot bath and a massage to ease his tensions.”

“Oooh, good thing I bought this,” Elenya eagerly offered a small ornately decorated bottle of extremely expensive oil. “It has a luscious lavender scent,”

Pym just demurely smiled.
Lena Wolf
Good to see the Jandaga keeping busy! But tell Elenya to refrain from buying overpriced lavander oil just because the bottle is pretty. wink.gif

A Dwemer sphere... yes, we came across such a thing among the baubles offered for the decoration of Riften. Our construction company said it was among the artefacts brought over from Morrowind recently. But we decided it would look better in Markarth, besides the Jarl was not keen on mysterious artefacts rotating under an unseen power. ohmy.gif I suppose it is safe in a museum though.

20211020 Rumple, Midas’ Magic, Better Cities, and something special for Renee

Sunshine came softly through my a-window today
Could've tripped out easy a-but I've a-changed my…ways

“Feache! Feache wake up!” Kaleah burst into the Arch Mage’s quarters. “Let’s go, Tar-Meena has news on the Skull book.”

try to remember the shape of your name
where did you go when they started the game?
how did the sand get inside of your brain?
(Joe Byrd and the Field Hippies)

Shaking my head to clear the sand and cobwebs, I got out of bed. Last thing I remember was having a tea before leaving Midas’ Spells and Sundries. Must have been a good tea but why the lingering perfume of lavender?

Head clear the Ladies and I sat down at breakfast to discuss our options. While we were all in agreement with proceeding on our original course of action, we thought it best to check with Tar-Meena first.

When I brought up the subject of activating the Great Gate in Midas’ basement, Kaleah was particularly adamant about being properly prepared before tripping in Midas’ astral plane. One small mistake and the trip could end badly. She suggested that a few of Midas’ spell recipes would be useful.

The spell Wings of an Angel for example; it allows flight for 30-seconds. That should be useful in getting to the little island I saw floating in the void. It requires an angel feather and to get that I would have to summon an angel. For that I would need a white monk’s robe. We’ve known this for quite some time. I’ve just never paid much attention to the items we pick up.

Why bother with it when I can levitate (tcl) to get myself around. I am after all the Arch-Mage of Cyrodiil, and Archmagister, emeritus of House Telvanni.

Tar-Meena was at her usual station in the Mystic Archives. She was happy to tell us that she was able to open and translate the book. Tar-Meena wasn’t so happy to tell us that the powerful destruction spell described in the book had such a high Magicka cost that it was useless.

With a random thought I suggested using a sa’angreal or some sort of Magicka battery in place of one’s own Magicka to power the spell. Tar-Meena took that thought and countered with own idea of using one of the Dark Welkynd Stone traps that are found in Ayleid ruins.

She walked off mumbling about which of the other mages would know if there's a way to take one of those from an Ayleid ruin, and have it retain its power. Well, I guess we wait another day or two.

While we wait we might as well enjoy ourselves. Stopping at the Oht Quam Oht frat house for a glass or two we happened to come across Jo’Mahma’s personal copy of Lycanthropy. By Jo’Mahma‘s handwritten notes we are shocked to find that Jo’Mahma has discovered a way to turn himself into a weretiger.

Obsessed with becoming like his Ka Po’Tun brothers, Jo’Mahma has gone into hiding somewhere near the Panther River to live out his dream. Not liking the thought of a weretiger running amok in the countryside we thought we’d go take a look while we waited on Tar-Meena. Paid the bar tab and left immediately.

The trip to the Panther River was uneventful as was traveling up river to reach the Panther’s headwaters. There, not far from Fort Redwater we stumbled upon a large fortress like Ayleid ruin, the Halls of Lôrn (Better Cities quest).

Entering the Halls of Lôrn we were impressed by the size of the great hall.

“Didn’t Ma Syd Jun in Bravil mention something about this place?” asked Kaleah.

“It does sound familiar,” I replied.

”Or was it Oron who mentioned the Halls of Lôrn,” Elenya added. “We never did look deeply into their concerns.”

“Maybe we should next time we’re in Bravil. I certainly don’t like the Black Hand banners and some of the other trappings we see here.”

Leaving the Halls of Lôrn we began our canvassing of the area surrounding the Panther River headwaters. The search for the weretiger didn’t take long at all. He found us!

We hadn’t been out in the jungle for very long when with a tremendous roar the weretiger sprung upon us. My Ladies, ever quick with their swords, brought it to bay. Down it went seemingly dead only to spring back up to come at us once more. Again the four of us took the beast down and again it rose from the dead stronger than before. This pattern went on for some time.

Was the weretiger getting stronger with each false death or was it just Weariness tightening its grip on my Ladies and myself?

I'll never know for at that time a frustrated Kaleah gasping for breath yelled out, “Why won’t it die! Do we need a Silver Bullet!?”

Silver Bullet, of course that’s it! Thrusting my hand, fingers spread wide I called forth Midas’ Astral Gate. The four of us were transported instantly to the Astral Gate. Ignoring the gem powered portals we stepped into the portal that stood alone off by itself. We stepped out in the basement of Midas’ Spells and Sundries.

With his usual smile, Midas greeted us as we emerged from his basement. “Ah, another group of intrepid adventurers has arrived. How may I help you?’

“I’m terribly thirsty, you wouldn’t happen to have any of that tea left would you?”

“We need the Silver Bullet spell,” an impatient Elenya interrupted.

“You have the ingredients; 1 gold nugget, 1 silver nugget, and a bottle of skooma. Good. Place it in the Aurum Reactor and cast a spell on it. That’ll be 10 Septims. “

“No, no more tea but, I hear that Gilbert Grape over at Oht Quam Oht has made a fresh batch of Abtoklas cakes.”

Yuck, that residue tastes like blackstrap molasses.

Now armed with the knowledge of a Silver Bullet spell we left Midas’ Spells and Sundries to return to the area where we first encountered the weretiger. A day after leaving Midas’ shop we were in the vicinity and as before the weretiger found us first.

Only this time after I hit it with the Silver Bullet spell and my Ladies pounced on it the weretiger stayed down.

Waving the weretiger pelt like a banner, it was a happy trip back to the Imperial City. We did the Eagle Rock all the way.

20211025 Rumple, Umbacano The Collector

Returning to the Universitum Arcanorum Tar-Meena had nothing new to say about the Skull of the Mountain leaving us to wonder how long it was going to take for her to build her trap. If she even could. Oh well, we’ll just go and tell Ocato that Tar-Meena is working on it. Maybe that’ll be sufficient and he order construction of the Bear Rider’s Hall.

On the way out of the University we stopped by Midas’ Magic to check on value of this weretiger pelt we had acquired. We had heard rumors that the weretiger pelt might be of some use later on. Midas showed no interest in it so we stashed it in the Customer Storage chest for safekeeping. Midas assured us that the Customer Storage chest was safe to use.

Chancellor Ocato was sitting in the near empty Elder Council Chambers when we caught up with him. Good grief, how does not go insane spending his days surrounded by all this emptiness? Myself, I got to get up and get out. I told him so, hoping that he’d get the idea that he needs to take a tour of the empire to get a better feel for what’s going on.

Anyway, when we told Ocato that Tar-Meena was studying the Skull book Ocato informed us that the Bear Rider Lodge had been approved and construction should be completed soon.

What would have been a peaceful trip to Bruma was disturbed by an altercation with a hill giant and a band of Skyrim Raiders.

Later on in the evening as we neared Bruma we lent a hand to a Legionnaire patrol in dealing with a frost giant. The legionaries suffered some losses but the threat was eliminated.

Being late we spent the night at our Bruma house. The next morning we went searching for the Bear Riders’ Lodge. We found it outside the city walls just east of Bruma.

“It’s the last house on the left,” Elenya confirmed. “Could be the Bates Hotel to the right.”

Introducing ourselves to the man standing behind the bar, Timo he tells us that Gudrun is in charge and we should speak to her. Timo then pulls me to the side and asks if we could help him with a problem he has. It seems that he’s been feeling strange ever since being bitten by a wolf. Oh no, this could be another lycan problem. Other than a silver bullet, we have no idea how to help him with that.

Upstairs we find Gudrun in her office. She is thrilled with the new lodge and plans to fulfill her duties to the best of her abilities. She has a problem though. Ocato has charged her with establishing bear patrols in the Valus Mountains. Problem is that the new recruit from Cheydinhal is late. Could we possibly help her with that?

Asking Gudrun about Timo’s little problem, her answer certainly wasn’t what I expected. I think Gudrun is seriously confused about the true nature of the issue.

“Now that you mention it, he has developed a few new tricks recently,” Gudrun replied to our inquiry. “I like the variety, so I'm not complaining about a change from "missionary".

“Um, that’s not exactly what I meant.” We may have to consult with someone at the university.

Elenya stifled a snicker and Pym, with a confused look on her face, tugged on Kaleah’s sleeve. From out of nowhere a book, Kama something or other, appears in Kaleah’s hand which she hands to Pym. Skimming through the pages Pym’s eyes got bigger and bigger as the pages turned. She finally put the book down and gazed in my direction. Her wicked smile and the predatory look in her eyes filled me with a sense of foreboding.

Leaving the Lodge we head south then west on the Orange Road. It was a foggy morning perfect for a roadside ambush or so I thought. We were lucky, there were no encounters on the Orange Road this day.

We were half way to Chorrol and it was getting dark when Elenya pointed to the south and declared that Lindai is not far from here. Stepping off the road and into the forest we went searching for Lindai.

Finding Lindai we entered the ruined Ayleid structure. Battling our way through numerous undead foes and floor traps we advanced our way to the gates of the Inner Tombs. It was in the Inner Tombs where we found the locked door Herminia Cinna told us about. Using the key Herminia gave us we entered the final chamber.

At the far end of the Varla Hall stands a solitary figure. A Sword Guardian! We’ve met such a guardian recently, in Malada. Now this one, the Hithlain Sword Guardian (Adonnay’s Eleven Weaponry), stands between us and the crown of Lindai.

Being prepared for a statue of stone coming to life does not lessen the disconcerting feeling when it does. It took every bit of our willpower to stand our ground.

In the initial moments of the engagement Pym and Elenya were struck down. With Kaleah’s ranged support and Twinkle’s guiding light I was able to hold off the guardian until my two companions recovered.

Elenya and Pym gather themselves and we renewed the attack. With all of us now fighting as a coordinated force the sword guardian is defeated.

The beautiful sword Hithlain is now in my possession as well as the Crown of Lindai, and two varla stones

My little band thoroughly exhausted by events in Lindai, I bid Twinkle farewell and sent her home. The rest of us then found a dark quiet corner for a well deserved nap.

“Will you put that book away and go to sleep!”

biggrin.gif This reminded me of a passage from Sleeper in the Cave - a Morrowind story here on Chorrol. There two young women wonder into the House of Earthly Delights in search of a place to sleep (all other inns being fully booked), and as they hide in their room and opt for a game of cards, the illustrations on the backs distract them from the game. "I'm sure his leg would have been long broken in that position" - one of them comments. "Oh, I had no idea you could do that with a fish..!" - echoes the other. Perhaps Pym should visit there to broaden her education.

And then you send Twinkie away. I see. ohmy.gif

Gosh, I hope the Ladies have toe rings enchanted with resist frost for Bruma!

The name Bear Rider Lodge sounded familiar from the distant past. The name Gudrun confirmed it from old stories of ghastley’s bear rider, Unna, sharing her tales with us.

Oh my, sounds like Pym’s garnered some new and creative ideas for play.

That fight with the sword guardian did indeed yield a beautiful sword and some nice loot.

Rings on the fingers and bells on the toes. I give them warm clothes that they simply refuse to wear. rolleyes.gif

Ghastley wrote Gudrun's dialog, I just recorded the party's reaction to it.

And that's where you go wrong - you give it to them. Take them to the Goddess Store and nudge them towards a goddess from a frozen land - let her outfit them with furs and other warm splendours. Spend a fortune or two. Then it might stick. wink.gif
