Nice shots, Lopov! Dragonborn ethereal? How did that happen – or is it something to do with the MQ? Aw, Lydia and her Thane look great on the bridge talking to that bard. L&L teaming up against some draugr, then relaxing by the fire and making some chow. Those last two close-ups look great. I think it’s the reflection from a snowflake or something, but it looks like you can see the cold breath coming out of Lydia’s mouth.

There's a shout that allows you to become ethereal for some time and while in this form, you can't take any damage nor deal any by yourself.

This is the cold breath coming from Lydia's mouth, it's a part of Wet and Cold mod where you can toggle it on as an optional feature.

From the mod's site:

Cold Breaths:
Breathe out visible moisture from the nose and mouth in frigid regions (snowy/coastal) and less visible moisture in the tundra/marsh regions at night. Breaths from the nose appear in steady intervals while breaths from the mouth become visible while talking (NPCs only), running, sprinting or fighting. Creatures currently supported: giants, horses, dogs, wolves, bears, (Vale) sabrecats, falmer, werewolves, trolls, dragons, cows, hagravens, lurkers, boars and rieklings. Breaths will not appear if the actor is close to a heat source or if the actor is a vampire.

How neat! That looks like an interesting mod. I might consider it just so Superian puffs out visible breaths in the cold. I really like the animations and noises of the SkyHorses that give them so much presence in game. They already snort and breathe, so this could be a natural.

My favorite pic this time is the spying one

I was trying to take a similar screen-shot of my character, but I can't get the camera into the right place. Hitting the mouse button for the ward spell always moves the camera instead, for me. What did you do to uncouple the two functions?

Thanks! I was hoping to take some screenshots of he battle with Laelette but she died after the first strike. Not all vamps are powerful like Mycharonna was.

I used the "tfc 1" command in the console which freezes time. So while I was holding Alt+W to run forward and right mouse button to cast Ward, I pressed the tilde key to bring up the console. With tfc 1 you can rotate the camera around anyhow you want.

Aha! It's the operand "1" that makes all the difference. Without it, the game continues, but the RMB flies the camera up!

Luke Skyrimwalker has teamed up with Barabas I see. He can be handy, when he's not trying to push you off a cliff. He isn't just essential, he's invulnerable, so he will never even take a knee, no matter how much damage he takes.

He's a bit annoying because he barks all the time but otherwise he's rather likeable. There are probably mods that shut him up but then again, his barking is not that bad. Overall I'm positively surprised with the Vile's quest in Skyrim, I'm doing it for the 1st time with Lucius.

Great shots, Renee, some look like paintings indeed! The one with "hands on shoulders" is funny, LHM looks a bit uneasy because Erandur is standing behind him. LHM with a hood slightly reminds me of Corcaigh, they both have that Bretonish look.

SR: Yup. If you look hard, you can barely see her eyes, ultra creepy stuff.

Lopov: Yeah, that look on LHM's face is priceless. "Is that your staff, or are you a little too happy to see me?"

I like how they're all eating next to a giant dead troll! I've had characters do this as well. Too much effort to move the dang thing, you know?

I actually got rid of compass already, didn't need a mod for that! You can just use Skyrim's ini file to turn it off.

Lopov – Nice to see Barbie and Clavie back together again. Great scenic shots and, like Grits, I really enjoy camping ones – they offer a nice glimpse into our characters.

Renee – Love the pictures of NASCAR Nassqa. I like how he takes time to enjoy the simple things. Nice to see screenies from you without tape over the compass.

Thanks Acadian, yeah he's a very simple guy, and yup, no more tape. Home Depot is losing money, as I've stopped cutting up electrical tape to put on my TV.

I like Nassqa a lot though. His entire RP so far is looking for ores to mine, selling them, and dealing with very basic, mundane things, yet I can't get enough of him. I love looking for ore veins. Beth put them in some very interesting places.

Nas does look asian! More so than when I tried making an asian character. I love that last pic of him looking out over Whiterun.

That looks like it was quite a battle at Eldersblood Peak. I see from how the ground is churned up, the dragon did one of those belly flop landings.

Renee, Naasqa looks great! I love the sleeping and Whiterun pictures best. Wandering and looking for ore sounds like perfect fun to me. What a great way to notice and enjoy all of the little things that might get missed rushing from quest to quest.

Lopov, Lucius is looking very good in the picture with the orc who has an arrow through his throat! Snowy Morthal is my favorite. What a pretty picture.


Lildereth and Jerric have been wandering in Lil’s game, enjoying follower Jerric’s new “stay back and out of sight” ability in the dungeons. Thank you Acadian for pointing out the Stealth mode in the AFT mod! Lil had been using a Fade Other spell (Cutting Room Floor mod), but that didn’t help when he’d stand up and charge into a room full of draugr. Anyway they’re getting along much better now. Here are some pics.

This situation is a new one for me, and for once not Jerric’s fault.

This surprise was waiting for Lil at the Rorikstead blacksmith’s right next to the forge. She had to react quickly, and she did not choose her Pacify spell. Even afterward she could not think of a way she could have coaxed it away from town. Surprisingly it did not eat the blacksmith or his wife.

We call this one Lildereth and the Three Bears.

Here Lil chats with fellow Illusionist and Court Mage Sybille Stentor. Lil is not entirely easy in Sybille’s presence. There was an exchange earlier between Lil and Jerric about why Lil needed three belts when she doesn’t wear a single blade. Lil threatened to wear her furs next time. Jerric shut up about it.

Grits- Those are great pictures from Lil’s game. I love seeing her with Companion Jerric tagging along and I’m so glad the ‘stealth’ function from AFT is of some help. Nice to see another user of 'Fade Other' - I added it via command console some time ago. Glad you said the dead cow was not Jerric’s fault, for it surely looks like something he might cause. I don't think I 've mentioned it before, but I Lil's dark Robin Hood outfit looks fabulous. Buffy's jealous but I've told her to simply appreciate the massive wardrobe she already has. Love the bears – add a few more hairs to a bear and you’d have a Jerric. I like Sybille – especially her thoughts if you talk to her about the civil war – and Lil looks great in her town clothes. Hey, if you’ve got the hips to hang those belts on, go for it! Hmm. . . looks like a shipwreck but I’d be at a loss to say which one.

Finding a blacksmith in Rorikstead would be a surprise to my characters, without the added problems Lil had. I assume it's mod-added and they didn't remove the nearby spawn point.

I'd guess the shipwreck is the Brinehammer, as that's the only one that leans that much. Well, there's the one in the middle of Solstheim, but that was a flying boat, and it's completely upside-down.

What was the bear situation? I know you get sent after a spirit bear by Froki, but that doesn't usually include a regular one (or Jerric).

Grits: I have no idea what it's called, but I know at least one of mine has been in that boat. ghastley probably got it right, right?

Some of mine also try to pacify wild animals rather than kill them. Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do, though. Calm spells only last so long, after all.

I am thinking that is the ship wrecked on the north shore, between Dawnstar and Solitude. The one filled with mudcrabs *Looks at the UESP Map* Yes the Brinehammer.

That was some surprise! I wonder how that wandered into the middle of the village? I guess it must have smelled Sigrid's cooking.

That Robin Hood outfit is Lil’s favorite. Also Jerric’s favorite.

The shipwreck is indeed the Brinehammer. It was close quarters in there with the two of them plus a summoned bear and a frost atronach vs the mudcrab army! Lil did not want to shoot for fear of hitting Jerric, since her arrows were bouncing all over the place. I personally avoid that wreck because I get motion sick with the tilted floor, but curious elf and curious Nord would not leave it alone.

I think ghastley is right about the mod-added Rorikstead blacksmith and the spawn point. It’s right up the hill from there, and at level 42 (ugh) Lil gets sabre cats all of the time. It was lying down on the porch where she couldn’t see it. Surprised the heck out of both of us! Maybe I can disable it in my Rocky Top mod, if I remember.

The bear situation was a Calmed wild bear on the left plus Lil’s summoned bear from SubRosa’s awesome Nature Summoning mod with Familiar visuals (I think that’s what it’s called) given to him so that he looks spectral on the right. That’s a bear cave with a treasure chest and a dead bandit. Lil cannot resist a treasure chest. She left the bandit corpse alone.

Fun times around Winterhold today, but none of the pictures turned out well. Lil got lost and completely freaked out in the Midden, finally exiting here. That was a first for me. She then went to sleep at around ten in the morning thinking it was night because it was so dark. She woke up and went straight back to bed again. It’s still snowing.

Indeed, out of sudden he crashed to the ground. Maybe it has something to do with hurting them while flying and they are too wounded to land properly.

If you didn't mention the blacksmith being alive, I'd suspect that he was able to transform into a sabrecat. How would this be called in TES? Sabresmith perhaps?

This is for the 2nd time that Lucius met her and he even didn't do Sheo's quest which is according to the UESP a requirement for her to spawn. He met her for the first time on his very first day in Skyrim, she was the second friendly NPC that he met after Talsgar, not counting NPCs from the tutorial.

I'd been wondering why you met the Madwoman, but I didn't (with many characters). I believe the answer is that my first character - the one who does everything to explore the game for all the one that come later - did Sheo's quest right after talking to Dervenin, and completed it. All the others ignored him completely.

She only spawns while the quest is active - i.e. after you talk to Dervenin to start it, and before you complete it. So Fleur completed it, and turned her off, and all the others haven't started it, so she won't spawn for them.

Has Lucius met the Headless Horseman yet? I was on about my fifth character before I saw him, and then he popped up just about every day!

Like the pics in King Olaf's tomb. Did you let the ghost bard do most of the work? I confess that most of the characters I've had doing this one have been ranged (archer or mage) so they let him wade in while they stay back and pick off the stragglers.
