Good. I don't know whether or not we go to High Rock or . . . Oblivion.

Ushak gra-shubRace: Half Orc, half Nord
Gender: Female
Age: 26
Bio:
Ushak is an adventurer. Or at least, she wants to be. Her father is the historian at the Winterhold College and she's spent most of her life there, closed up, never seeing beyond the wall of snow. She swore the first thing she'd do when she got out of there was start her own adventure and make her own niche in history.
She made her way south, raiding treasure rooms of bandits and making herself a pretty septim doing so. She made her way to Cyrodiil and settled down in Bruman for a year, working around the Fighter's Guild and doing mercenary work. Once that cleared up, she kept moving south until she came to Chorrol.
Skills:
One-handed blade, preferring a mace over an axe or sword.
Hand-to-hand
A pretty damn good cook.
Gear:
Clothing, preferring dresses
Heavy steel armor
Banded shield
Food
Amulet of Mara
Ring to boost stamina
Temperament:
No nonsense, but not unfriendly. Doesn't tolerate disrespect, and isn't afraid to speak up when someone wrongs her.

Ushak looks great. I added her link to the directory. (That's on the bottom of the second post.)

Ushra. Wow! Digging those blue eyes.
Winterhold Wandering is getting more spotlight than the Wobbly Goblet.
Hey Grits, can I spice things up a bit here? Maybe a farmer rushes in to complain about his dead livestock and devoured sheep. Add a casualty or two. I don't know.
Something.
Anything!

I’m sorry that happened, DE. Maybe she’ll come back and respond.
Eventually I’ll do a spring NPC post, but of course you who are playing can keep your places as long as you like. minque and DE, I think you two are the only ones with active characters here? As always you’re welcome to take your time with posting even if others come in to use the thread. The whole point is to include players, not exclude them.
A general note, the RP thread offers a lot of freedom and expects that folks will act responsibly. Maybe with an older, more respected member serving as host we could return to the level of activity we enjoyed before last fall. (The first 41 pages were posted in three months! That kind of enthusiasm far exceeded my hopes in starting this.) Black Hand and minque, would either or both of you consider starting a community RP thread? Just open one and I’ll ask that this one be closed.

Whatever would foster roleplaying at Chorrol. Perhaps the friendly tavern idea has run its course. In that case why not build something completely different for a fresh start? Anyone could do that right now, there’s no limit on open threads. Maybe folks would use a PvP arena to warm up for ESO or something. Or as Keerava says of the Ragged Flagon, a place “Where all the lowlifes in Riften get drunk and knife each other.”

Heck, someone could recreate the Ragged Flagon for ease of use and give it a try. We’re not short of ideas.

I suspect the problem is not the ideas, but the number of people who have the time.
Either there isn't sufficient interest to start a new roleplay thread, which is what I think happened with Rohirrim's last attempt at starting a roleplay, or people drop out during the curse of the thread and it just collapses, which is what happened to Steam and Steel and Lunacy of the Guilloux Mansion, the latter of which had a particularly promising concept to it. I think I was as annoyed as Liz that it didn't get to play out.

I´m sorry to see many of your fine ideas come to such an abrupt end, guys

I may not have participated but I still think it´s sad. But maybe people just need some time away so they can come back fresh and new?

DE, it would be a shame to waste what you’ve written. Would Lycus even know it was Ushak? What if you went ahead with your post for Lycus and didn’t specify the name, that way if Elisabeth wants to go back and change something in her post she still can? It’s up to you, of course. I’m not in the PM/email loop, so the only news I have it what’s posted in the open here.

I have her on messenger as we speak, her wishes are to leave her character alone.
Callidus is correct.

Yeah, I wouldn't mess with her post or character without her consent, you don't wanna upset her.
Also, Liz isn't signing back on because that defeats he purpose of her leaving. She may come back in her own time, but that's entirely up to her.

Oh gosh, Kobby, no one is messing with Elisabeth’s post. We’re talking about what to do now that it sounds like she changed her mind.
This is the post we’re talking about:
QUOTE(Elisabeth Hollow @ Apr 18 2014, 02:27 PM)

Ushak left and got eaten by Lycus.
We don’t control each other’s characters without permission here, so no one eats Elisabeth’s character unless she agrees just like no one has another person’s character eat theirs without arranging it first. That certainly wouldn’t be polite. Regardless of what happened before, if anyone wants to play they can simply move on. I don’t see a need to upset Elisabeth with anything.

No worries! I hope everything works out and we hear from her soon.

In the meantime if Lycus wolfs out and eats an NPC I hope we can avoid jumping to the conclusion that it must be Ushak, lol. Treating his victim (or examining the remains) would send Abiene on a major guilt trip!

Actually I suggested he ask for a moderator to edit the post for him, as it inappropriately used his character, but he decided to roll with it.

I’ve had a great time collaborating with folks and putting the Goblet together. It was and I think still is a great place for mature players to interact with quite a lot of freedom. We’ve seen a bunch of successful RPs launch from here as well as some excellent ideas that just didn’t make it as far as I would have liked to see. All of them have been fun (for me) to read.
The thing is I’m not sure this community as it stands now really has a need for an open-ended venue. I think it’s time to close the doors. If there’s interest someday maybe we could open it again, but for now perhaps we should go back to individual RP threads.
I hope everyone understands that this is not about any one specific person or incident. That last thing I want is to kick up a bunch of personal drama. Just as the Wobbly Goblet provided a place to show off the characters we’ve created, this one is a place where folks can demonstrate what they’re made of. I hope it’s mostly good.
I’ll leave this thread open for a while if anyone wants to reply. PM me if you missed your chance and it’s already closed.
It’s been fun! Thanks for all of the good times, and for the lessons learned in the other times!
