Dar-Ma doesn't need to worry. Followers don't need to breathe. Nor do enemies, as we've seen in a number of screen-shots.

Grits
ghastley, I had to laugh when I saw Ghorbash’s game-issued inventory. He spawned with a necklace of waterbreathing! laugh.gif Dar-Ma is level 7 now, so hopefully by the time they hit Riften via Darkwater Crossing she will be level 14 for Deepest’s quest.

Ghorbash the Iron Hand so far favors his bow, so he is a great guard for Dar-Ma. Vigilance the war dog charges in like a true Nord while Ghorbash shoots over him. Dar-Ma was always worried that Erik would cut Vigilance in half with his big axe.

In Karthwasten Dar-Ma met one of my own NPCs who I always forget is there because she is usually sandboxing out of sight. Denelle Jeline! wub.gif Denelle is just as sweet as Dar-Ma. The two hit it off immediately and Denelle decided to lend her bow to Dar-Ma’s endeavor. Denelle is a merchant without a shop in Karthwasten, so a new trade caravan is a great opportunity for her. Denelle is an archer-mage, though the mage part doesn’t happen as an NPC because she is an illusionist. Still, Dar-Ma plans to buy her some robes when they get to Whiterun.

They’re swinging around Lake Ilinalta through Falkreath Hold to get there. Dar-Ma wants to make contact with South Shore settlement (where my NPC versions of Alesan Mikkesson and good ole boy Otto live) and look for more nightshade. She’s working on a special new blend of tea.

I didn’t realize it until I looked Ghorbash up in the uesp, but Dar-Ma barely got him to come with her. She has the minimum Speech level to convince him, and she would never have tried to bribe or brawl him if he declined. Whew!

Renee
Love your Dar-ma tales, Grits. smile.gif Too many things to comment on, but one of my faves was the fact that you added she was "chased by wolf, chased by Forsworn, chased by a mudcrab... laugh.gif
SubRosa
I am just waiting for Dar-Ma to be chased by Chases-The-Fish! laugh.gif

Lildereth and Jerric are in freezing, elf-hating Windhelm in Lil’s game. She has never been in better spirits. Maybe it’s the company, or she could be tipsy on Resist Frost potions. Lil has just chatted with grumpy old Oengul War-Anvil and agreed to get a Nord relic for him. I am amazed that she likes him. I suppose she respects his loyal heart, if not his politics.

In Dar-Ma news, Gorbash the Iron Hand mysteriously abandoned the group somewhere on the way to Lakeview Manor. Lakeview is the house of Clan Hammer-Helm in Dar’s game, populated by my NPCs and Jerric’s dog Ulfe. Ulfe wanders a lot due to me making and fiddling with her when I had no idea what I was doing (as opposed to now when I just know I’ve done something wrong tongue.gif), and Dar’s mission was to bring Ulfe to Jerric at Breezhome. It took three trips to get Ulfe all the way to Breezehome from Lakeview, and when they finally got there and Dar-Ma told her to stay (sort of, it was mod dialog), Ulfe turned around and headed for the gate. Dar-Ma is done trying to corral that dog. Jerric is going to have to keep track of her himself.

The party is presently on the road just outside Darkwater Crossing. Dar-Ma hired an Argonian guard named something like Haj-Meer to replace the missing Gorbash, and he has been a good addition to the caravan. Another one of my NPCs (Crook Tooth of the blue feathers) lives in Darkwater Crossing, and I am excited for Dar-Ma to meet him. Also, Derkeethus! Woo! smile.gif
Acadian
Freezing in elf-hating Windhelm – that’s a familiar feeling. Poor Lil needs an enchanted toe ring. wink.gif

Too bad about Gorbash. Heh, moving Ulfe around seems no easier than herding cats! I’m sure Dar-Ma will make friends in Darkwater Crossing – and she could come out of there with more tails & scales for her little team? tongue.gif
Renee
Sounds good, Grits. Just reading what's going on with your is whetting my appetite for Skyrim. Been craving this game latley. I mean lately.

Grits
Acadian, Jerric grins all over when he thinks of Buffy and her toe ring. happy.gif

Renee, I am enjoying your Oblivion stories so much I hope you won’t completely migrate north for a while! But I know what you mean, as much as I love Oblivion, Skyrim is the only game I really think about playing when I’m doing other things.

Lildereth had a busy time between Falkreath and Whiterun Hold getting everyone settled, but that’s done for now. Thanks to a comment Acadian made I tried out JK’s Skyrim and loved it, so now the Bannered Mare has a lovely outdoor covered dining area from that mod. I used My Home Is Your Home to give the crew their daily schedules between Breezehome and the places where they work during the day, plus now they are all supposed to gather at the Bannered Mare’s porch every evening for dinner. I hope that works out.

Lil had to part ways with Jerric for a time to get this done due to no multiple follower mod in this set of games. Once she got back to Whiterun she looked for him in the Dragonsreach dungeon, but there was no Jerric in his usual cell with the mead barrels. (Jerric has a deal with the Whiterun guards. I’m not sure of the details other than mead.) There was a Nord guy in a Jerric-like pose (sprawled naked on the floor) in another cell. That gave her a shock because he was dead. Fortunately he was not Jerric.

Eventually the Nord turned up with as usual no explanation and no idea that the elf was stressed over him. The three (Jerric, Lildereth, Ulfe) spent the afternoon wandering around town and pretty much doing nothing. When they visited Darnand they found him taking some alone time, no doubt to get away from Farengar. Lil didn’t impose on his solitude. Hopefully they will see him tonight at the Bannered Mare for dinner.

Here’s a screen of Lil meeting Jerric’s uncle in Falkreath. All I could think was, “What do you want, little elf?” tongue.gif
Acadian
Grits, love the pictures! So glad you like JK's Whiterun. Buffy can so identify with Lil - In the wandering around town shot, she's barely taller than those two kids in the shot. And 'What do you want, little elf?' is the bane of Buffy's existence in Skyrim.

For reference, as you know, Imperials are 1.0 height (as are vanilla Bosmer maidens). Kids are 0.80 and Nords are 1.03. Buffy is 0.88. What height is Lil? The reason I ask is that Lil and Buffy look to be almost the same height.
Grits
Thank you, Acadian! smile.gif I think that Lil and Buffy are very close in height. I made an adjustment in my personal tweaks mod so that Lil and her sister wood elves should be .91, and using Showracemenu confirms that Lil is 1.0 of her race’s height. However the Getscale console command returns .95 with a base of .86 which would be .817, which I think would be a lot smaller than she looks. I have no idea where those numbers come from. The Racemenu mod allowed me to adjust various weapon scales downward to make her bow look less huge, so maybe that’s it?

Anyway, in the game she looks between Abiene and the kids in height, though with her minimum weight she has to be careful that the kids don’t bowl her over. I’m sure Buffy can relate! Lil completely disappears behind the lowest point of Jerric’s shoulder. As her NPC companion self she frequently tells Jerric, “I’m right behind you,” which is nice because when she’s following he can’t hear or see her. laugh.gif

I’ve noticed that screenshots make people look taller or shorter depending on where they are in relation to the camera and the camera’s angle. Here’s a picture of Lil fresh from the road talking to the Dragonsreach children from one side and from the other side and from a short distance. Most of the Jarl’s children are little jerks, so she has not bothered to get to know them. She has also not bothered to threaten that she will put them over her knee if they sass her again because frankly she couldn’t. Lil needs to borrow Buffy’s line about turning them into chickens!

That “What do you want” line does annoy Lil. She is usually fresh from some adventure that made Skyrim safer with no help from any guards, and she just wants a warm bath, a soft bed, and possibly a goblet of wine. Certainly nothing from whatever random Nord chose to grumble at her!
ghastley
I can agree with GetScale giving bogus results. When I was developing Hulk Out! it took a lot of fiddling to make sure the player was properly restored to their initial size when the power expired, and I learned to ignore GetScale and stand my test characters in front of something that would act as a gauge. Admittedly I had more factors coming in: race scale, race menu override and then Hulk effect on top, but the numbers I saw in the console rarely matched any of them.

I also got the impression that just changing race with everything else set to 1 would result in a height change (if the races had differing heights) without a change of scale being reported. If you altered Bosmer Female race record to make them all shorter, they'd probably register as "1".
Grits

Thank you, ghastley! I was still scratching my head over the GetScale results, and now I can just forget about them. biggrin.gif

I have the same impression about racial height and individual scale. I had to do some fiddling with my NPC followers after I changed the racial heights so that NPC Lil would not be .91 scale of the new .91 Bosmer female height, but she would be 1.0 of it. laugh.gif
Acadian
Grits, I too have noticed that screenshots are very size sensitive. Foreground = bigger, background = smaller; edges of the shot = bigger, center of the shot = smaller. Buffy will yell at me if I take a side shot of her while she is crouching while on the edge of the shot and facing toward the center. That puts her rump at the extreme edge of the shot and she complains that it makes it look too big. laugh.gif

Nice pics of Lildereth, especially the one where she's standing between two big Nords. She looks really good, both in Skyrim and in Cyrodiil. She made a right decision about avoiding Jarl's children, they are annoying brats.

"There was a Nord guy in a Jerric-like pose (sprawled naked on the floor) in another cell. That gave her a shock because he was dead. Fortunately he was not Jerric."

I didn't know there's a dead prisoner in Whiterun cells. Glad it wasn't Jerric, though. wink.gif

SubRosa
Lil is tiny!

Maybe after she turns the Jarl's brats into chickens, she'll kill them and reanimate them. No wait, that is what Serana would do! laugh.gif

Persephone returned to Skyrim today. She crossed the border from Cyrodiil somewhere north of Pale Pass, and found herself in the wilds near Fort Neugrad. The first place she discovered was Southfringe Sanctum. The spellswords she found there were anything but friendly. Nor were the bandits pretending to be Legionaries she came across on the road outside. Persephone had to use her dislike button.

I meant to say something on the other places you posted this screen - I love the way you took this shot through those tall grasses; the color - excellent shot!

Dar-Ma got a letter from her grateful Argonian friends! (ghastley's marvelous Argonian Hearthfires mod!) Next up she will go check out the site. She’s pretty excited about building her own place, which in her mind means all of them building everyone’s place. Dar-Ma likes to share. wub.gif

I’ve switched to playing her the way SubRosa suggested using Calm and Healing Hands most of the time. It suits her much better, excellent call! She was scared to death by the Dwarven constructs in Avanschnitzel, but she led her team through anyway. Poor Vigilance gets the worst of it wearing only his fur, but heavily armored Haj-Meer gets in close and takes a lot of the pressure while Denelle, Crook Tooth, and Derkeethus shoot the crap out of everything. Including Dar-Ma who gets in close to heal her fighters. Then afterward she sweetly hands everyone their arrows back.

Derkeethus is pretty awesome. When he decides to get in there with his axe and shield, it always seems like it’s a good time to do that. Dar-Ma rarely gets targeted and overwhelmed in fights. She carries a shield just in case. (A pretty one, of course!)
Acadian
What a wonderful Dar-Ma update and she sounds so very true to character! happy.gif
SubRosa
How nice of Dar-Ma to collect everyone's arrows! Persephone used to do the same thing for Serana, but with ice spikes... wink.gif

Cool to hear she is working out so well. Have you tried the Cleric mod? Renee has been using it with Claire Voyance, it might work well with Dar-Ma. If you think she would work as a Priestess of one of the Divines.
ghastley
Jo'Bashi was not happy with the second wave of hired thugs. They turned up while he was fighting the bandits at the entrance to Mzinchaleft, where he'd gone to look for dwarven metal to grind up his Smithing. It wasn't so much the extra fighting that annoyed him, but he'd left his horse a safe distance away. Not safe from hired thugs, however.

So now he has to use up one of his potions of strength to get the metal home, and spend his septims on a replacement horse.

At least each one of thugs contributed a decent pile of change to the fund.

Edit: I wonder if Dar-Ma will find any of her team trying to clear piles of rubble for her?
Grits
Thank you, Acadian! Dar-Ma is delightful to spend time with. smile.gif

SubRosa, thank you for that link. My version of Dar-Ma feels drawn to Lady Mara which is no surprise, but the Hist shrine in Ilinalta Den seems to have as much appeal. Like Lildereth, Dar-Ma feels very much of Nirn when I play her, and not so concerned with Aetherial matters as her human friends. It’s been interesting since they’re all a bit older in Skyrim and have had some time to think.

ghastley, Dar-Ma left the team outside during the rubble-clearing portion of the rebuild. I wasn’t sure if they would cause problems or actually help out. Sorry to hear about Jo’Bashi’s horse. At least the thug loot will help pay for a replacement. Mojo’s horse doesn’t have a name yet because I am already sad about the thought of her dying. She survived the trip to Markarth, so he is going to buy Vigilance to guard the horse!

Dar-Ma’s Ilinalta Den is complete! Her human friend Denelle has to be careful where she steps, as when the gang relaxes there are tails all over the place. Dar-Ma’s fungus pots are planted, and she has her flowers growing in the garden across the lake. Her vegan potion business is about to take off! laugh.gif

She noticed that the deathbell flower though lovely is no use to her, so she is working on a tea recipe that could negate the deathbell’s poisonous effects. She has already embraced the nightshade and concocted a tea blend in honor of our favorite Marsh Ranger, Haa Rei. wub.gif It’s perfectly safe for non-Saxhleel, but she has yet to learn if the humans and elves will actually like it. (They will probably love it since it contains moon sugar and may possibly be addictive! Oops.)

Dar-Ma is making plans for her future caravan wagon. I suspect she will park it on the other side of the water, unless Jerric and Haj-Meer drink a keg of mead and decide to build her a bridge.

SubRosa
Just a side note, when taken in small doses nightshade is a powerful hallucinogen. So some folks have taken it for the visions. But if they god the dosage wrong, they died.

Doesn't ingesting tiny amounts of it give you clear/youthful looking skin too? (or is that arsenic?)

I think that might be arsenic. I know women did put drops of nightshade in their eyes to dilate their pupils, and give them that big eyed anime look. That was centuries before anime was invented, but the look was popular even then!

Back in the bronze age Greek women would paint their skin white with a mix that was full of lead. Like this. They looked really cool, and doubtlessly died young due to lead poisoning. In the 17th century women used mercury to get rid of freckles.

Whoa, those are incredible facts, SubRosa. Didn't know about the dilated pupils, my goodness.

Morndas, Midyear 22, 10:02 PM
:
Claire and her posse are headed to Solitude now, to speak with Tullius about where to go next. Fort Kastav was a disaster. Not for Claire, but for me. When she got to Kastav, her followers rushed into the fort. I didn't think this would be a problem at first (they're pretty tough, they can handle themselves) but unfortunately, this caused a problem with scripting, I think. When Claire got in there, all the Stormies were just standing around, while Aela, Erik, and Lydia knocked them all down, one by one. Eesh. Awkward roleplay moment.

Like I said, I think some sort of script moment got missed. Later on when Claire found Hadvar, he also seemed confused. The battle had been won, the Imperial prisoners inside of Kastav had been freed, yet Hadvar was just standing around going "I think there's more of them (meaning Stormies) around here, somewhere", even though all the soldiers had already been downed.

Good thing for the console .... I think otherwise I would have had a broken quest!
Grits
Yikes, those screwed-up situations are disappointing. Glad that you could sort it out with some console magic.

Jerric, Darnand, and Lildereth had a dragon battle at dawn on the south shores of Lake Ilinalta. They’re making their way to Mzinchaleft and then Riften collecting various lost items for friends. I suspect that they will stop at Lakeview Manor for a visit and some fresh baked goods and then swing through Helgen and over the hills rather than going back to Whiterun first and then taking the road around past Valtheim Towers.

The dragon was an Ancient fire-Shouting one and Jerric was wearing what he had slept in on the grass by the lake, so it was pretty scary. Afterward while Jerric was doing a welfare check on the neighborhood chickens, he made an interesting discovery about the nature of Hert, the Half-Moon mill operator. He is not sure what to do about this information. There is a lot of bloody meat in the area including a raw rabbit meal on a stump. This makes him think that Hert has her bloodlust under control. He did check his exposed parts for bites (after he had healed himself from the dragon, but that did not occur to him) and cast a Cure Disease spell on himself and everyone else as a precaution, even though it seemed that she did not feast on Nord while he slept out in the open last night.

His buddies Otto and Les who run the nearby smithy and general trader (mod) were not bothered by the news. Jerric is going to let this stew for a while. Maybe Serana will have some advice. He’s not going to mention it to Valdi Sun-Storm of the thirsty Dawnguard axe.

Jerric has given purpose to some of Skyrim’s underutilized real estate lately. Honeyside is newly acquired and furnished as a Blades safe house and base of operations for Knight Sister Iona. Vlindrel Hall is an Arcane University Center for Dwemer Studies facility under the management of battlemage Argis the Bulwark. Strategically placed Windstad Manor serves as an outpost for the Blades under Knight Brother Valdimar. Jerric wonders if there is a connection between the Valdimar of Ghost Sea Station and the Valdemar of legend. Perhaps someday he’ll catch Valdimar in his mead and ask him.
Renee
What sort of lost items are they looking for?

Wow I just UESP'd Honeyside. That looks like a nice place to live

Grits
They are retrieving Wylandriah’s research materials and Mjoll’s lost sword Grimsever. I suppose Wylandriah’s stuff is not so much lost as left behind, since she told Jerric where to find everything. Jerric flirts indiscriminately so he ends up with a log full of fetch quests. He does not mind at all, since there’s always lots of trouble to get into on the way.

I like Honeyside a lot. It’s compact and cozy if a bit damp downstairs with a nice garden outside. I think that the garden in Jerric’s world is possibly a little extra lush thanks to JK’s Skyrim mod. It reminds him of his Ma’s walled gardens in Kvatch. Iona the Housecarl takes up a lot of space in there, though, so when I’ve had a character who wants to live in Honeyside they usually find another home for her. I’m pretty sure Jensa inducted her into the Blades in at least one of her games, and someone moved her to one of the Hearthfire houses as steward. And Allek the Thief took her on a road trip and murdered her, then told Marcurio that she was visiting her mother. blink.gif

Also Jerric related here is a picture of the gang leaving Whiterun, and here Jerric checks on the Lakeview vegetables. He has not thought about it, but he has his Ma’s way with growing things. He’s planted a garden behind Breezehome and added some small, manageable flower beds around Anise’s cabin (mods). In Oblivion he always had his pockets full of flax seed to help his magicka problem, and I imagine him scratching them into the dirt along the roadsides as he walked with the caravan in his pre-crisis guard days.

Goodness! That’s a lot of rambling. I had a late night last night. When I’m tired I’m incapable of brevity. embarrased.gif

Acadian
Renee, good luck to Claire as she pursues the civil war quest line. Glad you got that glitch at Fort Kastov sorted out.

Grits, what a fabulous update on Jerric and Co! One feature I very much like about AFT is 'Dismiss but hang out here'. It allows the finding of homes for all kinds of followers that might otherwise be lonely. In Buffy's game, Erik hangs out in Jorvaskr, livin' the dream. Same with Goldir so he doesn't pine away forever in Hilgrund's Tomb. Similarly, Jordis now works at Fort Dawnguard with plenty of company so she's not echoing around by herself in Proudspire. And Erandur is now a Cleric of Mara also working for the Dawnguard. Illia is in the castle at Riften as assistant court mage to the drifty Wylandriah. . . you get the general idea. biggrin.gif

Renee
That wasn't rambling, Grits, that's called sharing. smile.gif Fun to read, so no worries.

Oh wow, I didn't realize this command makes NPCs go in so many directions. That is rather neat.

Acadian
Renee, the 'Dismiss but remain here' has limitations. It does not override their 'normal' home. For example, if Buffy grabbed Erik from Jorvaskr for an adventure then dismissed him normally, he'd go back to Rorikstead just like normal. To return him to Jorvaskr, she has to escort him there, then use the 'Dismiss but remain here' command again. The good news is that they really do make themselves at home in their 'Dismiss but remain here' location - relaxing, eating, sleeping, wandering around, etc.

The command can also be helpful when traveling with multiple companions using AFT. Let's say that Buffy wants Jordis to stay outside a dungeon guarding the horses and Jenassa to come inside and help clear the dungeon. She can use the 'Dismiss but remain here' command on Jordis outside, then go in with Jensassa. The advantage of having Jordis 'dismissed' is that Buffy's AFT tweak commands will now only apply to Jenassa. So if Jenassa gets stuck for example, Buffy can 'summon' her but Jordis will stay put since she is 'dismissed'. If that makes sense. . . lol.
Grits
Aw, thanks Renee. It’s been a while since I spent time with this bunch. I am loving it. smile.gif

Acadian, I love hearing about Buffy’s world. happy.gif What a marvelous idea to help some friends find less isolated circumstances. I’ll have to steal be inspired by that! biggrin.gif I didn’t think to use the Hang Out Here command to let someone stay outside without being yanked into the middle of things later. Thank you for that tip, and thank you very much from Lildereth!

Project Find Your New Home may start with Marcurio. In Jerric’s world the Bee and Barb is overcrowded with drunks who apparently don’t like Imperial mages. Marcurio is always sitting by himself with his arms crossed. The crew delivered Wylandriah’s materials and then planned to spend the night at the Barb before heading to Mzinchaleft in the morning. They sort of forgot to go there on the last trip. Could have something to do with the pit stop in Whiterun.

Anyway while Jerric was buying the meat and mead and wondering where the elf had disappeared to, Darnand and Marcurio expanded the Mzinchaleft excursion to include Avanchnzel and Arkngthamz. Darnand suggested that they bring their findings to the Center for Dwemer Studies in Markarth. I suspect that Marcurio will want to stay there for a while.

I’m surprised that the two mages can tolerate each other. Marcurio runs his mouth a lot, but I suppose that Darnand is often thinking the same thing. Could be trouble. No wonder Lil wants to stay outside.

They are presently standing at the entrance to “one of the ‘A’ ones,” according to Jerric. It’s the one near Largashbur. Lildereth is with them. She does not care about steam and Dwemer metal. She plans to spend the day in the sun with the horses.

It was a good idea to bring Marcurio. He has already made an excited comment about Dwarven ruins. Jerric is chuckling to himself. He plans to give Marcurio a lot of metal to carry. devilsmile.gif
Acadian
Darnand and Marcurio together! That conjures up some frightening images! Hanging out with Calcelmo is a great idea. We like him a lot and there's certainly plenty of dwemer stuff there to study. I bet Marcurio will like it there. I just hope Jerric can pull Darnand away from there.

In fact, Calcelmo is about all that Buffy does like about Markarth. She went into the Silver Blood Inn one time. Never again. Now when she's in Markarth, she and Superian sleep either at the stable or in Calcelmo's area within the keep.
SubRosa
Darnand and Mecrutio look like two peas in a pod in that pic. I remember when Darnand was Mecrutio! wink.gif I guess Mecrutio is stocking up on carbs in that pic so he has the energy to run his mouth later! laugh.gif
Grits
Acadian, even Jerric finds the Silver Blood Inn to be an uneasy place. He likes to hang out in Moth’s quarters and Bothela’s shop when he visits Markarth. Crotchety Calcelmo is another regular stop. He likes to give the old fetcher someone besides his nephew to snap at, plus Aicantar always sounds like he could stand to hear a friendly word. I’m sure they enjoy the company of their petite sister elf when Buffy visits. happy.gif

SubRosa, Marcurio gives me fond memories of the times when he was Darnand! smile.gif The two of them together is a new thing even after all of this time. They definitely keep Jerric’s magicka bank full. Luckily he has a high tolerance for being electrocuted.

Lil has a low tolerance for destruction mages, however, including Jerric when the lads keep his tank full and he can unleash his frosty fury all over the damn place. She delicately disengaged herself after they spent the night in an abandoned prison to get out of a storm. Watching her walk away just about broke Jerric’s resolve, but he knows that the Breton and the Imperial have a short life expectancy in Dwemer ruins without a shield up front. He tripped a trap in the last place that just about took his life even though he was wearing his best steel plate. The lads in their robes with no mage armor up would have been meat piles on the floor.

Jerric was in fine form throughout the last adventure. Marcurio and Darnand insisted on picking up every artifact they found since they were interested in different things. Marcurio is a Dwemer culture nerd while Darnand is fascinated by everything related to automaton control and power. So of course they were all overloaded within minutes. Jerric gave Marcurio all of the pots, urns, pans, cutlery, cups, and dishes to carry. He was loaded down like a peddler but kept insisting that he is an apprenticed wizard. What became of his apprentice, no one knows. For Jerric that never got old, but Darnand seemed to be too busy juggling his gyros, gears, and soul gems to note the humor. Eventually Jerric took pity and gave Marcurio a Charmed Necklace. Still the fellas had to leave a treasure trove behind. Good thing they didn’t find any cool swords. There would have been a fight if Jerric had dropped historically significant hunks of metal in favor of one modern but pointy and awesome one.

He would have kept all of the cogs in any case. They are handy for keeping the tent flaps down in windy weather.

Great catch of Jerric's Astronaut effect going off in front of him!

Acadian
Yes, with those two behind him, thank the Eight + one and the Sixteen + one that Jerric is indeed of the Astronach persuasion! I don't blame Lil for wanting outta this gig!

Also Jerric related here is a picture of the gang leaving Whiterun, and here Jerric checks on the Lakeview vegetables.

I absolutely LOVE the first screen here, of everyone gathering at the gate and getting ready to head out - it really does look exactly like that! LOVE that shot!

Can you tell me what mods you are using to get all these followers in a group? Is it the same one Acadian uses, the AFK Follower Tweaks (or something like that).

This shot was amazingly real feeling!

Looks like two brothers sitting side by side! Great shot !!!

I saw this and couldn't figure out what was going on with all three of them, what a shot! rollinglaugh.gif Seems like everyone else knew what was making them look that way, I don't know how you happened to catch them all in the throws of it, but Great Shot !!

Grits
Thanks, folks! I also sympathize with Lil. These three can be tiring! laugh.gif

mALX, there are two mods at work in the picture with the three of them mounted at Whiterun’s gate. Amazing Follower Tweaks which is the one you’re thinking of that Acadian uses allows multiple followers, and Convenient Horses lets the followers ride their own horses. In that shot the horses had been left outside and were bunched together, so when they all mounted it looked just like they were gathered together having a chat before heading out on the road. wub.gif

In the last shot Darnand and Marcurio have Stoneflesh mage armor on, which with the mod Cutting Room Floor makes them look ashy instead of glowy green. They both still have the Stoneflesh spell on their left hand and are about to cast lightning with their right. The approaching Dwarven spider is on fire probably from Darnand’s flame atronach who you can see in the back. She had followed them in since she did not get dispelled in the last encounter. Jerric has either been hit by lightning from the spider, lightning from the lads, or fire from the flame atronach which has set off his Atronach blessing swirly effect as he absorbs the spell. The Dwarven spider is about to do a jump attack and bounce off Jerric rather than slice through the mages. It’s pretty rare to see them all together like that due to the ramp. Darnand and Marcurio tend to keep distance and circle (I think that’s called strafe in the CK) and Jerric often gets caught in their crossfire.

As soon as they got to the bottom of the ramp Jerric started firing off rune spells powered by everyone else’s magicka that he absorbed. He can aim those easily and blow up a lot of things at once as long as the mages are out of the way. His runes are also good at blowing up his companions. ohmy.gif

That is it! Well, both of them actually! Acadian uses and swears by both those mods (Amazing Follower Tweaks and Convenient Horses); I have been planning to get them when I play Skyrim again.

Thank you for the link on the Cutting Room Floor; I downloaded that a long time ago and can't seem to find it in my Download files anymore.

You must have chances for great shots a lot with these, makes me wonder what Acadian has been keeping under wraps !!!!

I loved all these shots you posted, it looked like a lot of fun playing; these screenshots were even fun just to look at! I Hope you post more of your group together, these were a blast to see! I love seeing Jerric and Darnand together, really miss being able to read their story.

Thank you, mALX! Jerric’s games with multiple followers tend to produce chaos. I often stand there stunned with my hands off the keyboard after an incident and think, dangit why didn’t I take a screenshot! Probably because the screen is usually covered with stuff blowing up. Most of my shots are of people standing around in the aftermath saying holy skitt! or of a red mess with nothing but ice, smoke, and fire in the picture.

I remember one incident on the road outside Morthal in Abiene’s (I think) game before I started using AFT with the “Followers Ignore Friendly Fire” setting. There was a big fight with spiders that turned ugly between friends. NPC Jerric chased NPC Lil into the woods and out of sight with her backpedaling and shooting at him the whole time. When he returned his shield was bristling with arrows. A short time later Lil came out of the trees as if nothing had happened. I just stood there shaking my head.

Oh how Awesome! I still remember - will never forget that scene in your story in that dungeon when Jerric got hit with the Frenzy spell and attacked everyone; and how they didn't trust him afterward for a while. It was the first (and only) time in any Fic I've ever read that I've seen someone have the protagonist do that! Scenes like that in game have got to be inspiring for writing!

In Oblivion, I used to get the Unicorn as Maxical's mount early in the game because you never knew what that Unicorn was going to do next - it added excitement to the game. Every where that Unicorn went, something unusual happened; and the Unicorn was always on the opposite side that it should have been in any conflict.

Going down the road and coming across Countess Leyawiin's little group, her body guard was off his ho brse defending her against some beast = had his blade out. The Unicorn goes into a frenzy when it sees a drawn blade, so he starts attacking the Countess's body guard. So the Countess's bodyguard's horse defends him, and then it is on, BIG time! And when the Mythic Dawn attack Jauffre and Martin, the Unicorn helps the Mythic Dawn! (etc).

A lot of Maxical's mishaps in her story were actually based on the mishaps caused by that Unicorn, lol.

I love games when anything can happen randomly, especially in a game I've played so many times that it has begun to feel like I'm losing interest in it - the Unicorn revives the interest because you never know how it will react in any given situation, lol.

Thank you again for posting these, I think you've made me want to play Skyrim again with these!

Oh okay, thanks for explaining. I like the "make themselves at home" part the best.

Master Baytor is in Whiterun. I installed "You are not the Dragonborn" into his game, and I didn't realize how extensive this mod is. It really does kill the Main Quest in its tracks, after that first dragon is fought; there isn't even an option to go to the Greybeards, and no shout gets collected from that dragon. Which is fine, because for awhile I was thinking he'd do the MQ, but now he'll be doing some quests for this Thamor mod I found.

mALX, my first character rode the unicorn and it got away from her. Then for a hundred hours I would periodically hear fierce neighing and screams as it chased someone or something presumably to their death. I had no idea about stats and leveling and my character was weak and could never catch up. Once near Chorrol it ran past chasing a deer with guards and that Dunmer chick in pursuit. It was chaos!

Renee, I keep thinking I'll try that mod. Most of my characters are not the Dragonborn, but there's always a fuss with those word walls and dead dragons. It would be great to have them die and not turn into bones. I know a few of my characters would be happy to grill some dragon steaks over the fire.

Mojo is off to find a saw in the Rift Watchtower. He is accompanied by my sweet Shuvesse the skooma addict who was killed by Otar the Mad in her game. She is not a zombie here, I made an NPC of her in happier days. No skooma in her life yet, but she does love the sugar.

You had me rolling with the Unicorn excerpt above! ** Mojo is awesome looking! First Tabby Khajiit I've seen!
