White Gold Tower

One thing I'm noticing about the bald-headed lady at the bottom of Stargelman's pictures is that she's got a gut. Her tummy's sticking out. This is actually kind of refreshing, were you able to create her like that? The reason it's refreshing is this game doesn't just assume washboard abs or a 6-pack tummy, from the look of it.

I've always wanted to create a character with some girth around his or her middle, just to do something a little different.

Yes you can make characters with some weight on them.

KC, that shot of the Tower looks great. And so comfortingly familiar!

I wonder if ESO´s Cyrodiil looks like Oblivion´s Cyrodiil?

According to the lore it should still be a jungle. Tiber Septim hasn't magically transformed it into the picturesque landscape we saw in Oblivion yet. That being said, in Arena it's jungle and that's in the 3rd era.. Gotta love the lore

It is very nice seeing White Gold again, from a slightly different perspective.

I have to say I really like what I see of the character creation. The faces look much better than in Skyrim. They seem to have a softer, less jagged and harsh look to them. Probably because of better textures (like not have square blocks in the texture files for starters...). But I also like the way you can change your body type as well, so every 80 year old man does not have six-pack abs...

Oh yeah, character creation is beautiful. The only complaint I have about it is that facial scars and tattoos are the same slot. Same thing with the body. I just want to have both.


And I caved in to nonexistent peer pressure and artbooks. I don't have much worthwhile to show in the form of pictures. I don't play at maximum graphics either. But anyhow, let's drum some up to showcase what I do in the game.
I look at the monkeys

and the birds

sometimes I mess around with emotes, trying to find the exact distance I need to lean on things

And sometimes I just like to admire the view. Shame I don't have a fishing rod. Maybe I can tie a rope to my wizard's stick.
(Ps: people kept running up to stare at me. They must have thought I was an npc with a potential quest. Why else would I be standing like that? )

The camera doesn't want to move the way I want it to for taking pictures of myself. I can't get close enough and my guy always shifts off to the right of the screen. Pity.

Personally I'm glad it's not a jungle in TES: 4. Not to diss jungles or anything, but I'm glad we got deciduous trees & conifers, deer, rats, and wolves.

What's Valenwood like in Arena? I haven't been there yet. Never mind, that's too off-topic.

I thought monkeys were more tropical creatures, but I see them everywhere. They're cute, but keep running around which makes it hard to get close. The game is also lacking a /pet emote. I just wanna hug the adorable animals!


In other news, the physical part of the Imperial edition just arrived. Now I got the code sent earlier which did give me the idea that it was possible to cancel out of the preorder at that point and basically get the game-part for free. At least for the first thirty days. But since that is kinda rude to say the least I didn't.


Making photos right now but here is a spoiler. This box is huge! As in OMG huge.

The monkeys make me think of an an early mission in No One Lives Forever.

They made me think of Japanese macaques.

Alrighty, here we go. Keep in mind that the photos are as big as the box, hence why they're links and not pasted directly into here.


How big is the box, you ask? Bigger than my laptop is the answer.

Here we have a close-up. Most of the shine turned out to be from a plastic sleeve.

Opening it, the first thing you see is the disc and a nice big statue of that Daedra whose name I never remember.

These two cards hold the codes to all the Imperial edition content.

The map is honestly dissapointing. There is barely any info on it, apart from a vague overview of the three faction's territories. Heck, it doesn't even list the capital cities!

Flipping the inside of the box reveals a stand and tail for the statue

The plastic feels a bit cheap and I really felt like I was going to snap off a leg trying to make its feet fit into the plugs on the stand.

It is well-sculpted though.

One last 'flaw'.
It is too big to display it where I wanted.

I removed the part holding the dvd and the statue. But what is this I see? Another layer! Could it be?

Why yes it is. One artbook, with a thick cardboard faux-leather cover,
and a fancy spine.



It opens up on a part of the map again.
I like the old-timey parchment they've got going. I've seen real old-timey parchment though, and the shine is rather anachronistic.

What's this? Errors, strikethroughs and corrections in my book? How unprofessional.

This one is for Darkness Eternal, and all those who like the same stuff he does.

Edit: It just occurred to me that I kinda wasted that five day headstart. One character out of the tutorial, who's level five and lazing about near Solstheim or something. I even use the walk button heavily! Nobody does that!

Neat pictures. Do all of the ESO Khajiit have spots? Or are there multiple options you can choose for their fur?

There are many patterns to choose from, and you can elect to have a single colored Khajiit as well.

That is very cool. A step up!

I wasn't sure if they'd actually include the tree-cities n Valenwood, but I'm glad they did. I don't suppose they move?? I'm sure that would be hard to include, particularly in an MMO.

I, like Grits, may have to play this! After it's quietened down though and when I can afford it!

ESO's concept of Valenwood far, far exceeded anything I could have imagined. I was picturing something like the Moiety in Riven, but this is much better!

Valenwood is a lot of fun!

@Vital: None of the cities in the game move, though it is mentioned that a city left and nobody knows where it went.

Gosh, I love what they did with V-wood! And Aravi's got a horse! The Summerset Isles beach shot is beautiful as well. Aravi looks great, and like she's enjoying her exploration!

I like how the Lord Stone is lifting Aravi in the air a little. It lends some ceremony to the blessing.

Love the warm colors in the Valenwood pic. It looks like a very inviting place. Quite different from Coldharbour, where I don't think I would want to go swimming!

The beach looks awesome. Aldmeri Dominion FTW! If they ever release a single player version, I will be playing an Altmer to start with.

Count me on on the neat floating effect with the Lord Stone. It looks really neat.

Of course there are mudcrabs. They tend to be more even tempered than the Oblivion and Skyrim varieties.

Aravi in Argonian armor. This is one of my favorite things about the game. Each race's armor looks a little different from the others.

Aravi is wearing an Argonian? Harsh... Seriously though, I like the idea of each race having their own styles of armor.

What is that weird ring around White Gold Tower, and the things coming down from it? Is that one of those 'anchors' that Molag Bal dropped from Coldharbor to absorb Tamriel?

The Imperial Isle looks a lot like the Soul Cairn. I would rather live in the Aldmeri Dominion lands instead.

Pretty ominous sight, seeing White Gold Tower attached to a Dark Anchor. Hopefully the Imperial City becomes an Adventure Zone later on, that looks like it would be fun.

The Imperial Isle definitely looks like a magical world in crisis. What happens to your horse when you’re not riding? Does it follow you or disappear somewhere? Does it get into fights and possibly die?
