It looks neat. Too bad its a multiplayer game.

It's not bad for an MMO subrosa

Wow! Kobby, I'm so glad you're enjoying ESO. Those are some great screens. goodjob.gif

Thanks smile.gif

I just learned how to make the interface disappear. Is it fine if I make my own screenshot thread in this section?

It certainly is. If you think you'll be posting quite a few ESO screenies you have several choices:

- Create your own thread here in the 'That Online Thing' forum as you mention.
- Create your own thread in the 'Fan Art' forum.
- Just continue posting them here on this thread.

Whichever you prefer. It's just nice to see you playing and enjoying TES! smile.gif

I'm not sure whether I'll try ESO or not, but I'm certainly interested in seeing shots from those who do play it.

It might get bad after it goes free this month, lol.

I did not know about this thread, why didn't you tell me?

Holy Cow, these are Awesome! I never knew ESO looked so good! Please PM me when you post, I have trouble keeping up with new posts without some cues (if you don't mind doing that for me). This place looks faantastic!

Do they have a campaign mode for just like two people? Single player mode? If I get it, would you be willing to babysit a newb till I get used to playing an online game? (I can't do it now, it will be a few months before I can).

Awesome shots, all of them!

He really looks great, Grits!

Here is Misa's picture (of her back), bringing it to the right thread, lol.

She is the one with the long red hair, and that is her friend with the conjured familiars.

mALX, your comment brings to mind what is sometimes said about the size of a man's hands . . .

Hmmmmm . . .
Grits
laugh.gif He does require very big gauntlets. tongue.gif

Misa’s outfit looks cute! I love her hair. Any chance of a screenshot with her face? I’m a klutz with the camera so I just cropped an inventory screen shot.

It must be fun to run around with two daedric critters along for the adventure! smile.gif

I didn't think about taking a screenshot of her in the inventory screen, lol. That screenshot was straight out of prison, that is the prison garb your character is given if they have no armor on creation.

In the beginning when you are creating your character and choosing their armor - I took off her clothing to make sure she didn't have body painting (she did, I had to remove it) - but I forgot to put clothing on her before pushing the "Create Character" button.

So instead of sending them in naked, the game gives them that adorable prison outfit to wear. It has no enchantment whatsoever, no damage rating of protection like armor has - so all in all, I'm pretty shocked she made it out of Coldharbour without dying!

She died plenty once she got to the training island though, so her friend their gave her some armor to wear. I did love that outfit, but without a house to store items in, and such a limited amount of space to store in banks and inventory - ended up selling my prison outfit, but hated to.

And those conjured Daedra are great for keeping up with where my friend was at any given time, I can see them easily and from a distance - and on more than one occasion they have saved my life in wolf pack attacks. The one in the air has a deadly aim, and protects me as well when I travel with them.

If you are with a friend you can pull up their name on your friends list and choose to either be the leader or let them lead. Whoever is the leader gets a crown that shows up over their head and also shows up on your compass so you can "follow your leader" by compass if you lose sight of them.

Acadian
Woot! Any picture of Jerric is a good one - anytime, anywhere. He does indeed look different with his more cosmo hair but that's what I think it is - just different. As ever, he looks great. Thanks for sharing!

And mALX, it is fabulous to see Misa in ESO land. I love her magey friend's conjured pals!
hazmick
Not sure if it's ESO or my Xbox but I keep losing about 60% of the screenshots I take. *sigh*

Here's some stuff that I managed to hold onto:

Haa Rei helps the Ebonheart Argonian settlement look after their baby Hist tree.

It's always nice to have old friends along on adventures.

Managed to make it to the high level area of Riften, and got a snap of the market place before running away again.

Also finally managed to get to the Imperial City, but it was really foggy and the slaughterfish don't let anyone get across Lake Rumare. We're determined to get a good pic of it, even if it kills Haa Rei (again).
Grits
Acadian, thank you for your kind support. Jerric’s cosmo hair reminds him of his years in uniform when he had to keep a neat appearance. That’s a good thing, since he’s mostly kept the good memories. smile.gif

Yikes, hazmick, slaughterfish! Jerric learned about swimming in deep water yesterday. indifferent.gif

I love Haa-Rei’s hood. What a neat view of the little Hist and the Argonian settlement. Congrats on the storm atronach! biggrin.gif I like how Riften looks familiar but still different from in Skyrim.

Jerric has been on Bleakrock Isle exploring every crevice. In between getting booted from the game due to errors he also has to contend with me wandering off to deal with RL issues since the game can’t be paused. Sometimes he lies down for a power nap, but his favorite way to pass the time is leaning against a wall flipping a coin. I suspect that’s because it makes a cool little sound that I can hear from wherever I’ve walked off to attend to some matter. (Someone at the door, phone, tea emergency, finding an item for a family member that is sitting out in plain view, someone at the door again, now the tea is cold.) You can’t see the coin in these pictures, but here is Jerric waiting in Davon’s Watch and Jerric waiting at the market center in Bleakrock Village. You can see his pet scuttler Pip in the Bleakrock ones.
SubRosa
Jerric is looking cool like Fonzie flipping his coin. "Step into my office." wink.gif His scuttler looks so cute!
Acadian
Hazmick - Haa-Rei looks great. I'm sure it's very comforting having his stormy pile-o-rocks pal with him for back up. biggrin.gif

Grits - I love the idea of Jerric waiting for you while leaning against a wall flipping a coin. Perfect! And everything SubRosa said as well. tongue.gif
hazmick
Jerric looks every bit the manly muscular Nord, then the Scuttler shows off his fluffy side tongue.gif

Haa Rei can't seem to get the super-cool-nonchalant wall lean right and always ends up leaning on thin air. He usually goes with the 'play lute' or 'sit in chair' emotes when I go for a tea break. happy.gif

This is amazing! I saw the screenshot in my email box yesterday, but couldn't read the caption on there - and I thought that looked just like Riften! It is awesome that it is, that we get to go to Riften in ESO! How close it looks in ESO to Skyrim's Riften!

You are so much further along than I am! I just got to do the primarily Argonian settlement of Bal Foyen, and I was amazed at the wonderfully unique personalities ESO has given the Argonians! They are very believably lizard people, not just humans with leathery skin.

Kudos and excellent job to ESO for the personality they infused in them, I fell in love with that place (other than the 10 deaths I suffered there, but none of that was by Argonians).

I am really loving seeing so much of Haa Rei in ESO !!!!

SubRosa
The Marsh Ranger is looking cool in that pic with the Hist tree. I love that tree-like building in the background.

I see the Storm Astronauts are looking good in ESO as well.

ESO Jerric is very handsome!

I read in my email notice SubRosa saying she saw his "Scutter" in the screenshot and really wondered ... what the heck she saw that she was referring to as a "Scutter," - in my mind picturing one of those short fast Pirate boats, lol.

So I poured over the picture looking for a Scutter (or possibly something Jerric might have shaped like a small fast boat) - and finally figured out it was the little pet thingy! I have seen a lot of those, but did not know what they were, rollinglaugh.gif

I love these screens of Jerric leaning - his personality is def starting to shine through, lol. Awesome shots!

That is all right, I was wrong about it being a small boat anyway (I think) - I think I was thinking of the term "Scuttle" and somehow mixed it up with Scutter - and both of you said Scuttler, but I didn't see the "L" - rollinglaugh.gif

Vermillion Scuttler: A reptilian pal from Morrowind, where they're known for quickness, devotion, and a mildly offensive odor.

The little guy came with the Explorer’s Pack pre-order bonus. Jerric did not plan to travel with a pet, but they had him at “mildly offensive odor.” biggrin.gif It’s pretty hilarious when Jerric is in a menu near a table or raised surface. The world goes on around him the whole time, and sometimes Pip the scuttler jumps up on the table and fools around making his little noises while Jerric does whatever he is doing.

I think I just read it in the middle of the night or something, my brain was not engaged at the moment, lol.

Oh, it sounds so cute!!! And I have seen many of them, did not realize they had an offensive odor, how adorable!

I guess Jerric won't have to miss Ulfe climbing in with him after rolling in dead fish or something now, lol. (although he can get a dog somewhere, because Peregrine showed up with a dog the other day, lol).

I am really loving you playing this game, I am learning a bunch from you!!! (And Hazmick too, this is Awesome!!!)

Well, I'd have to say that armor in your first shot of Jerric (Bleakrock Isle) is def a "Woman come hither" outfit! W00T! hubbahubba.gif

I'm with Jerric, though, about the hair. Just a little too slick for our ruff 'n' ready Nord hero. But I could get used to it . . . wink.gif

Love the idea of the PC flipping a coin while leaning against the wall while waiting for the Player to come back!

Quick update on what's been going on:

Fighting new monsters

Making new friends

Finding new places to relax

Oh, Haa Rei's new horse is gorgeous!

And I have to agree with SubRosa on what a beautiful vacation spot that last is, is this the place of Haa Rei's birth you are at in these screens?

Acadian
Great shots, hazmick! Nice to see a shot of Haa-Rei's new horse!
hazmick
Glad you all like the waterfall spot, I just had to get a screen of that when I saw it. Also glad you like Eiroch the horse - she's a been with us through Oblivion and Skyrim so I thought it'd be rude not to bring her along here too (even if she was rather expensive this time).

Here's something else before I go to bed:

Nothing like a relaxing jaunt through Coldharbour to clear your head. Molag Bal sure knows how to decorate.

Introducing Sir Cadwell, excellently voiced by John Cleese.

Finally managed to reach Black Marsh today, so expect a few screenie weenies of that tomorrow...if I can get Haa Rei to concentrate long enough to upload them.

That first shot is an awesome looking dungeon! Wait, it is Coldharbour?

2nd shot = GAAAAAH! Are you already going back into Coldharbour? Or do we meet up with Sir Cadwell again later in the game?

Holy Cow, you will be level 30 or veteran rank (or something) in days!!!!

AWESOME !!!!

Grits
Jerric has noticed and admired the canine pets that people travel with, but none of them have captured his heart like little Pip. wub.gif

hazmick, the dead Dread Daedroth really looks frightening. Congrats on getting Eiroch the horse! That’s a major accomplishment. The waterfall area is lovely. Wow, Coldharbor looks neat. That’s a cool staff. I was so excited to meet Sir Cadwell, even though at that point I hadn’t even figured out how to sheath a weapon or turn off the voice channel. I made everyone in the house come over and listen to him. biggrin.gif

Jerric plays with fire. This is what happens when there’s nowhere for him to lean. Silly round buildings.

Jerric falls in love. Sadly at his current rate of earning it will be at least a year before he can buy a horse. He likes his white Imperial pony Bill, but as ever he prefers to walk everywhere. Not a bad thing when you’re an alchemist.
Acadian
Hazmick – I simply love how Haa-Rei can go all Gandolf with that staff and actually walk along with it! Neat screens and very much look forward to seeing Black ESO Marsh. smile.gif

Grits – Little Pip is indeed adorable. Aww, that paint looks very nice. Could Jerric use a horse to simply act like a pack mule (follow and carry stuff) like he does in Skyrim? Lol on the juggling baby fireballs while bored. tongue.gif

These screens are great, I do picture Jerric standing around practicing a new spell like he used to in that basement room of the Mages Guild in Anvil with Darnand, lol.

And that is the first Paint horse I've seen!

** Am I the only one who has fallen in love with the Betty Netches? OMG, I LOVE them! That sound they make is so peaceful and pleasant!

And the little Scuttlers are all over Bal Foyen, I petted a few but got no response. Still, knowing now (thanks to Jerric) that they stink had me laughing every time I saw them, lol.

I spent last night farming that area where the fields are cultivated in low lying water; trying to build up fighting skills and gathering the runes there; then Misa went to some town and played the lute to help the merchants attract customers. I got some screenshots of it, will have to get on my son's PC to upload them.

mALX - been back to Coldharbour twice since the tutorial bit. Just can't stay away tongue.gif

Grits - I know what you mean about those paint horses, they look beautiful! I always get jealous of other players who have Guar mounts too sad.gif

Black Marsh is gorgeous. Lots of crocodiles and Wamasu to keep things interesting, but also lots of pesky Aldmeri Dominion folks causing big trouble.

The city of Stormhold, built upon Elven ruins, and Haa Rei's newest self-crafted equipment

Helping to destroy one of Molag Bal's anchors gives you this cool glowy-hand effect

Taking a break beneath a Hist

Haa Rei is so proud of the staff he made, he can't help but show it off to everyone he meets

Some traditional Argonian architecture

A huge Hist watches over the Argonian Hatching pools Fun Fact: Haa Rei was (will be?) born here.

Beneath the Hist, Argonian nests and eggs line a pool of Hist sap.

How do you go back to it? I could sure use some of the filled soul gems the loot is loaded with there! Or is it the questline bringing you back to it?

In the glowy hand screen it looks like Haa Rei is grinning! Did you see that? That is Awesome!

Er...where his arms were glowing, the flesh is missing in the screen where he is showing off his staff, what happened? His bones in his arms are showing! Poor Haa Rei!

These screens are all so amazing, how does it feel to visit the place of Haa Rei's hatching? And to see the cycle continuing? This is so Awesome to see an Argonian actually returning to his homeland like the Oblivion "rumors" used to say!

The stuff you have crafted yourself, and especially your staff - can you show us the stats on the items you worked so hard to make? I would love to get some insight on crafting your own equipment, feel free to go into as much detail about how it is done and your impressions, etc - bragging is welcome, lol.

Yeah it's the main quest that keeps taking you back. Really interesting storyline too.

biggrin.gif He's always smiling! Even when facing off against hordes of daedra. As for his bone arms, it's just the design of his gauntlets. He's thin, but not quite that thin tongue.gif

It's so nice to be in Black Marsh, I can't describe how exciting it is. I've known Haa Rei since I first played Oblivion all those years ago and we've been wanting to see his homeland since day 1. There's so much lore and backstory stuff!

I'll find a crafting table so I can get some base stats and pop the info in one of the other threads for you smile.gif

Here's a daedric anchor, in case anyone's wondering what they look like. They basically act as Oblivion gates, but scarier and more persistent.

Urk, that is scary looking! And more persistent? Urk!

On Black Marsh - it is so much more beautiful than I ever thought it would be from Oblivion, it is amazing! I fell in love with the Argonian people and the creatures in the Northern end of Black Marsh/Southern end of Morrowind; especially the Betty Netches and Scuttlers; they are Awesome !!!!! Haven't seen a croc yet, that doesn't sound like something I'm going to like, lol.

The Argonian styled armor is really nice, especially in green and brown, and Lyris is one of my favourite NPCs. Even if Haa Rei does look quite short when he stands next to her biggrin.gif

Yep, that number is their level. The yellow glow around someone indicates that they're friendly.

These shots are amazing, I love this insight into what is coming up - and is that gorgeous green the Argonian armor? I love it! It looks beautiful!

Isn't that funny, I always thought of Argonians as kind of reptilian - (cold blooded), so the temperature changes were barely noticeable to them whether hot or cold, and that was why they fared so well in the extreme cold in Skyrim as well as the extreme heat in Black Marsh. (and how they can stay underwater where it is so cold for such long times).

I've never played an Argonian or studied them in the lore - it was just based on the way they look reptilian. So it was just an impression I had personally, a guess at how I would think they might be based on how reptiles are irl.

I remember seeing that "Crocodile Hunter" show - they did an episode on how they made their show. The guy used to freeze the lizards and snakes for his show so they would move slower for filming, but freezing didn't effect them in any way except to slightly slow them down temporarily. Within a minute out of the freezer they were back up to full speed so they had to shoot fast to get the film made and a lot of times had to scoop them back up and refreeze them if the filming didn't catch it right.

(so if you noticed the lighting change during filming, you weren't imagining it).

It just never occurred to me Haa Rei would have felt the cold so much, so these screens were really interesting to me, and it really helps me get into your roleplay with him.

At first my favorite shot was the one with the friendly Giant, that is an Awesome shot !!!! That was before I saw the last shot, where it looks like Lyris BornwithbigTitsen put a flower on Haa Rei's head and is warming him up nicely, lol. That one is my all time favorite Haa Rei screen of all time, can't compete with that !!!!!

Awesome shots, I am loving watching Haa Rei in Tamriel and hearing about his adventures in ESO!

I think you are right, that it is the Giant's level (maybe to warn some drunk Nord leaving that party from beginning a brawl with the wrong character, lol).

Haa-Rei looks great! Poor lizard trying to stay warm in Windhelm. Brrrr! I'm so glad he found some warm company and tea to ease the cold. smile.gif
hazmick
From what I understand, Argonians are indeed cold-blooded. This means that they should die in cold weather, or at the very least suffer some serious health problems. Being cold-blooded just means that their bodies are affected by external temperatures way more than warm-blooded races, who can generate their own heat and regulate temperature. That's why lizards and snakes sunbathe on a morning and mostly live in warm places - sort of like charging up their internal battery happy.gif

Most real-world cold-blooded animals allow themselves to freeze during winter and thaw out during spring, with the help of some handy chemicals in their bloodstream which acts a bit like anti-freeze. Of course it's always cold in Skyrim so Haa Rei couldn't just hibernate all the time (as much as he'd like to). I'm not sure about fish and other cold water creatures, but I guess they have a similar sytem.

An in-game book I found in ESO claims that Argonians don't seem to have as much trouble in the snow as you'd think, and the Altmer author thinks it's something to do with Hist sap which Argonians ingest as hatchlings. So Argonians can still feel the cold, and it most likely makes them a little sluggish, but they can still function in colder areas at least as well as an Imperial or a Bosmer.

ESO has been such a treasure trove of info about Argonians - I've just been super excited the whole time biggrin.gif

One of the advantages of being cold-blooded is that it does not require as much energy to maintain the body. So reptiles can survive on much less food than warm-blooded animals.

This is fascinating! I have never played an Argonian, always wondered how they would be played! I love this, this is so great! One of the major issues I had in creating Maxical's character was how to balance the leopard with the elf side of her genes and ancestry; it was a ton of fun researching the lore and the real life cats to come up with my own version of what Khajiit might be like. You have played Haa Rei since at least 2009 that I know of, so you know him and his physicals better than anyone - really awesome how you have worked out everything for his metabolism, I love it!!!

I wonder if they like lobster? (or mud crab?)
