Kitties! I wonder how many things from ESO might make their way into the next Elder Scrolls game that Bethesda makes? Cats would certainly be nice!

Here's some more:

Met a friendly Reachman, named Kyrtos.

Did a suitably grueling trial for Malacath.

Found a nice Daedric rock.

Helped some Orc miners who stumbled upon a Dwemer ruin.

A very BIG Dwemer ruin, which turned out to be a Dwemer quarry.

The control room was huge too (note Neramo the Altmer to the left of the device in the centre, for scale).

Finally, Haa-Rei and Magni watch as two Echatere clash heads.

That Dwemer ruin/quarry is Awesome!!! Especially the quarry, I don't remember seeing anything like that at all before!

I actually wrote comments on these screens and lost them in my laptop issues, grrrr. Great Shots, Hazmick!

QUOTE(hazmick @ Dec 22 2015, 07:15 PM) *

Just a couple today:

Found a big ol' Malacath shrine. Orcs sure love their statues.

The aftermath of an intense encounter.

Menagerie

And finally, after completing the main quest in Orsinium, we had to say goodbye to Eveli. Haa-Rei and I very much hope to see her again.

Oh no, I was hoping to see more of Eveli! Did you ever get to whistle for her and she showed up? She is adorable!

Love your menagerie, lol.

QUOTE(hazmick @ Dec 24 2015, 05:46 PM) *

Let's see what we have:

Before leaving Wrothgar, Haa-Rei just HAD to explore the public dungeon, which turned out to be a huge Dwemer Ruin, filled with undead Orcs as well as the usual mechanical critters.

Now we've journeyed South, and into Cyrodiil.

We payed a brief visit to Cheydinhal, though it's little more than a collection of houses and a chapel. Odd to think it'll become a bustling town in a few centuries.

Next to the bridge leading to the Imperial City. Unfortunately it looks a little...destroyed...but never fear, a contingent of Imperial Soldiers are working hard to solve the problem...

...maybe we'll find another way in. tongue.gif

That Deadroth at the bridge killed me a dozen times before I gave up trying - and it wasn't easy to keep running back there either, lol.

I would love to see cats, pony guars, and scuttler pets in the next TES game. I love having a non-combatant creature along for the adventure. Tag-along followers are also fun. Jerric had a “Young Wasp” following him for a while after one dungeon fight. It just followed and helped him fight until it died. I had no idea that could happen. I’ve also seen someone with a really gross looking warty bloated spider following them. Not sure if it was a follower or a pet. I don’t have the spider fear, but I could really do without that!

The variety of mounts bring a lot of atmosphere to ESO. I would like to see geographically appropriate mounts in the next TES game. I thought that the bear mounts would look silly, but a huge orc on a roaring bear is a sight to see. A bit odd to see in downtown Mournhold, but a sight none the less. laugh.gif

I would also love to have more equipment slots like in ESO. Head, chest, shoulders, belt, hands, legs, and feet for armor/clothing, plus neck and two ring jewelry slots. There is a lot of flexibly for both looks and the gameplay effects of armor.

If you're thinking of the thing I think you're thinking of, it's a Necrotic Hoarvor pet. Quite an uncommon sight. You get it when you unlock a specific achievement in the Imperial City DLC.

Yes, that’s the one! Necrotic is a good description. I guess we were lucky to see it! smile.gif

Finally got the cosmetic mount upgrades all done today, so here they are:

Guaraug the Guar.

Magni the Bear.

I had to zoom out to get their footwear in. I hope you can all still see it. The upgrades come in three parts - armour, saddle bags, foot wraps.
Acadian
How cute to have the lizard riding a lizard! tongue.gif

Oh, and Magni the Dovabear!
SubRosa
It is the Dovahbear! He even has a helmet!

The Guar seems to fit Haa-Rei better though. It has the whole amphibian/reptilian thing going. It looks like the Guar pooped out the little lizard underneath it's tail! laugh.gif
Grits
Oh my gosh, Magni and Guaraug look great in their new gear! Every time I see a tessellated guar (which is not very often) I smile and think of Haa Rei. I love how his tail rests over the guar’s back. And there’s Venatrix the snow lizard looking adorable! happy.gif

Are the foot armor pieces from speed training? Jerric’s Bill has saddle bags, but that’s as far as he’s gotten. I’ve seen some horses with armor but could never figure out what the visual change is when you train speed.

I looked through your Orsinium screenshots again and you may have pushed me over the edge to spending my birthday money. I would love to meet Eveli the bowgirl! Her ponytails slay me. smile.gif

Yep, the booties are from speed training. Though I think horses get some straps over their torso rather than any leg-wear. Senche mounts get booties too. I'll get a screenie of a horse so you can decide whether to go for the upgrades.

I'd definitely recommend Orsinium. It's also a good place to level up if you get stuck in a rut with Veteran levels later on smile.gif

EDIT: Here's Eiroch showing off the horse gear. I think those leather straps on her rump are the speed upgrades. She has no leg-wear kvright.gif

Here are some recent shots:

Dude… ditto. (from Jerric)

It’s a great day for fishing.

Still a great day for fishing.

Sometimes people will come along and take their shirts off, too.

Jerric loves fish. (That’s Ulfe on his left.)

This time I lost more than my shirt.

Lil’s favorite outfit.

Lil and Hassim in Vulkhel Guard.

Lil gets a lot of attention. Also from that day, a gentleman named “DatBootyClap” (or a close variation).

Naughty Sugar Paws. (They are looking at a butterfly.)

Lil and Hassim had a falling out with Sugar Paws because Alfiq does not ever shut up. This sounds like meowing in-game. They sent her to hang out with Darnand. Now Lil is taking care of Pip the vermillion scuttler, and Ulfe (the golden retriever) is with the Nord. Darnand does not mind Sugar Paws’s constant commentary. She speaks Ta’agra to him and he speaks Cyrodilic back at her. It seems to work for them. It helps that Darnand likes cats.
Acadian
‘Though we seek to cause no offense, you simply don’t intrigue us in that fashion.’ laugh.gif Hey, that sounds like a line that Lil should remember for the Booty Clappers. wink.gif

Love the Jerric fishing shots! And his little baby clannfearian pet! tongue.gif

Wow, Ulfe looks great as a golden retriever.

Lil looks magnificently yummy! wub.gif And I love her big riding cat - and little Alfiq too.
ghastley
Is that really Lil's favorite outfit, or someone else's favorite for Lil? biggrin.gif
SubRosa
I get the feeling Jerric likes to fish. Maybe it has something to do with its magical shirt-disintegrating properties? wink.gif

Wow, Jerric really lost weight at the Vile Clavicle shrine!

I think Lil's favorite outfit is a lot of other people's favorite as well! I can just imagine Jensa wearing it! ohmy.gif

Got to love those lore-friendly names, Troublemaka, Smokey, and Mr. Clap.

I love the cat's expression in Sugar Paws. Someone studied how cats study little, moving critters!
hazmick
Lots of great shots, Grits. That first fishing one in particular looks so calm and relaxed.

Jerric and Lil are looking good, and Hassim is such a handsome cat! happy.gif
Grits
Thanks, everyone! The lads agree that they enjoy ‘Lil’s favorite outfit’ even more when she’s wearing her open-toed shoes. laugh.gif

Here are a few recent ones:

Lil and Pip and a ghost ship. (She has faith in her feet. That fall would have been fatal.)

Auridon is lovely.

Lil has a thing for golden males. She was quite taken with this guy, even though he was Altmer rude.

Auridon is still lovely. And Lil likes to find the high places.

Darnand views a mage party. Anyone know what that light dome is? He wants one.

Darnand meets the biggest airhead in Glenumbra. He has just finished another adventure that involves this guy. Darnand was happy to see him, even though the guy had caused a mess doing something heroic but stupid. Darien reminds Darnand more than a little of a light-hearted Jerric.

Acadian
I’ve always loved Lil’s darkly exotic look and that carries wonderfully into the ESO version of her. wub.gif

Her little Pip is adorable!

Aww, good luck to her with the fellas; at least Altmer don’t have a tragically short life span like humans do.

Yes, that Auridon place looks lovely indeed!

Woot, a mage parteee!

Darnand’s airhead is even more of an airhead than Count Cheydinhal’s son in Oblivion? laugh.gif
SubRosa
The Altmer cherry trees are lovely.

Looks like that one fella was just dying for that view...
Grits
Acadian, that airhead and Farwil are cut from the same cloth. laugh.gif Thank you for your kind words about Lil. I think the elves in ESO look great, especially the Bosmer. Lil has so far been disappointed by the Altmer of Auridon. They look all kinds of heroic and gorgeous like that high elf Hero of Kvatch Merandil, but then they open their mouths and ruin it!

SubRosa, that’s what I thought! laugh.gif There are skeletons like that all over the place, many with fun stuff to be found in their packs. It makes me nervous to let anyone sit down.

Here’s the latest crop:

Jerric cleaning up toxic waste in Shadowfen (in Black Marsh on the Morrowind border). This is the type of terrain that made him find a guar mount. ohmy.gif

The Atronach Stone! Funnily enough the blessing increases magicka regeneration in ESO! Jerric feels his magicka is cursed enough by the MMO mechanics, so he took the blessing anyway. tongue.gif (There is no spell absorption benefit.)

Lil and Ulfe in the Elden Root (Valenwood) Outlaws Refuge. There is a campsite in there that Lil uses. The guy who has his laundry hung around the fire doesn’t seem to mind sharing. He is another cute Bosmer.

Have Baa and Mooch been here?!

Afwa and Rinces in their tree house.

Ulfe looking cute in Grahtwood (a jungle region of Valenwood) with Lil. Laeloria is the name of the nearby ruin. That terrain is pretty typical of what she’s seen so far.

Lil let this handsome woodster sweet talk her. I have a feeling that she is going to want to skin him before her ‘great opportunity’ is over.

Elden Root mist and sunrise.
SubRosa
Jerric is cleaning up toxic shamans in Shadowrun? Sounds like some of the SR games I played in back in the old pen & paper days! smile.gif

The Astronaut Stone increases magicka regeneration? That sounds like quite a stretch from how it prevents magicka regeneration in all the other ES games! laugh.gif So then what does the Magician do, increase your total magicka? Can all the stones be found in each Alliance? Or do you have to go to other Alliance's territories to get to certain ones?

Is the Outlaw place from the Thieves Guild dlc? Or is that part of the vanilla game?

If it can be jumped on, you can bet Baa and Mooch have been there! biggrin.gif

mALX changed her name to Rinces! laugh.gif

The Valenwood jungle looks nice. But not as nice as Lil's abs. I wish I had her tummy...

Lil is going to talk to King James Cameron in Elven Root?
Acadian
What better expert is there on poison gas than Jerric? Just sayin'. whistling.gif

What a beautiful tree Lil is communing with in Elden Root. happy.gif

Yup, can’t see a pumpkin in Tamriel with thinkin’ of Mooch! laugh.gif

SubRosa is right – there’s mALX sitting on the table! ohmy.gif

Gosh, more wonderful shots of Lil! wub.gif
Grits
SubRosa, the Atronach blessing reversal in ESO was a real eye-roller. The Mage blessing increases maximum magicka, while the Atronach increases magicka regeneration. There is a complete set of Mundus Stones in each faction area plus a complete set in Cyrodiil, so no one has to venture onto hostile ground to get a blessing.

The Outlaws Refuge is from the vanilla game. I’m told that the Thieves Guild expansion comes out in March. (Yay!) Right now in the vanilla game anyone can trespass, steal, and pickpocket items from NPCs. The Outlaws Refuge is a place where you can sell or launder your stolen goods with a fence and pay off your bounty without approaching a guard. I don’t know what the advantage to paying off your bounty with a fence is other than not losing the stolen goods on your person, because Lil has only paid off guards. She has also escaped justice and waited until her bounty timed out and she was no longer ‘Disreputable.’ I suppose she could have waited out her bounty in the Outlaws Refuge, but she wandered around having adventures while avoiding guards instead.

I wish I had Lil’s tummy, too! And her butt, and her… The body sliders are great. A lot of characters look similar in the face (especially Dunmer and Bretons), but there is a good variety of body shapes. Although most ladies have bigger boobs than Lil. laugh.gif

Acadian, I knew something was funny about Jerric’s gaseous adventure, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it! rollinglaugh.gif I’m sure his tent mates wish he could have kept that Enchanted Poison Gas Collection Container! That tree house in Grahtwood with the Mooch-pumpkin and the mALX-squirrel really made me smile. smile.gif
SubRosa
That is rather nice with the Outlaws Refuges and way you can bribe guards without being a member of the Thieves Guild. In the older ES games there was no point stealing things unless you were a member of the TG, because it was impossible to sell your stolen items. At least in ESO you can be a thief and not be in the Thieves Guild. I wonder if the DLC will change any of that?
Grits
I hope they don’t change the vanilla outlaw content! I doubt that they will. There are a number of achievements already in place based on breaking the law, and forcing players to buy DLC or have their original game content removed would be a boneheaded move. So far these guys seem to know how to keep customers happy by enticing purchases with cool stuff rather than squeezing money out of players. I haven’t encountered idiocy on the scale of Dawnguard’s random vampire attacks or the way the Dragonborn DLC quest is required to enjoy Solstheim. That is to say I have not seen Mr. Howard’s signature style in ESO. laugh.gif Most of the things I dislike (and there are several things that I strongly dislike) are simply related to the limitations of a multiplayer game.

I’m particularly happy that the Thieves Guild and the assassin DLC (Dark Brotherhood maybe, I have forgotten already) will be separate. They would have to make a pretty neat questline to get me interested in assassin stuff.

Darkness Eternal
Hire are some fantastic screenshots Grits. The ones with Lildereth in Valenwood are great. By the way how big is Valenwood and if you're part of anther faction can you do quests of that region? Miscellaneous quests?
Grits
Thanks, DE! I’m not sure how big Valenwood is yet, because Lil has only explored a small part of one of Valenwood’s regions. (Grahtwood, home of the tree city Elden Root.) I know that the Greenshade, Malabal Tor, and western Reaper’s March regions are also in ESO, but I’m not sure what else is.

I’m told that once you finish your faction’s questline you can go do the quests in the other faction areas, so you don’t miss anything.

So far Valenwood has been just amazing. wub.gif

Cheesemonger's Hollow - An area of The Shivering Isles.

Standing Stone - In Stonefalls, Morrowind. The air is thick with ash from a nearby volcano.

Full View and close up of an Argonian style two-handed sword.
SubRosa
I am surprised that the Shivering Isles is in ESO. I thought it was just Tamriel and parts of Coldharbor. Can you find Old Olroy in the Cheesemonger's Hollow?

The Argonian sword is a Macuahuitl! Very cool, I always thought those were neat weapons, very under-represented in video games.
hazmick
Sheogorath is the (sort of) antagonist of the Mages Guild quest line, and you visit different locations within the Isles with him. Lots of references to encounters with him in previous games -searching for the Fork of Horripilation, meeting Uncle Leo.

As for the sword, yeah lots of the Argonian style gear has a Mesoamerica/'Aztec' feel to it. Looks fantastic. Interestingly, the daggers and one-handed swords resemble Kukris.
Grits
hazmick, that sword looks fantastic! I can imagine it tearing through people with bits of their meat hanging off those jagged edges.

That’s a fabulous shot of Cheesemonger’s Hollow. Lil was just there today. She left most of the residents undisturbed, but she did start one fight just to play in a waterfall afterward. tongue.gif

That’s a neat shot showing the pretty tree and the ash. I love Stonefalls. Jerric still travels all the way back to Davon’s Watch when he needs a bank.

SubRosa,

I’m sure there will be more. I’m interested to see which ones.

(edit to hide a spoiler)
Acadian
Hazmick –

Cheesemonger’s Hollow! biggrin.gif Nice to see the ESO devs have a Sheogorathic sense of humor.

What a beautiful tree in Morrowind – love the color.

Wow, Haa-Rei’s got himself a big boy blade now!

Oh there's plenty of Oblivion realms in ESO from Shivering Isles to Coldharbour to Mephala's realm(coming soon), Deadlands, Hunting Grounds, pocket realms.
Grits
Here are some newish shots from ESO:

Fishing in Shadowfen. The white dog is Jerric’s, adopted after Lil took Ulfe with her. He’s digging a hole. He is hilarious.

Fishing in Shadowfen, Jerric’s view.

Lil and Hassim outside Elden Root. Lil is wearing the outfit that the Bosmeri king gave her. (For real.)

The shirtless guy is Thane Jeggi Gap-Tooth of Windhelm. He and Jerric could be twins, in appearance and so far in habit. Thane Jeggi drinks a lot, and Jerric just found his fishing camp.

Jerric finds a war zone. He isn’t very involved yet, but I couldn’t keep him away. This is I think outside Cheydinhal.

Lil waits out her bounty in Auridon. She and the guy in the background went rock jumping as soon as the guy worked up the nerve to approach her. The guy is why she still has her top on. She does not relax around strangers.

Jerric, Flash, and the white dog (still unnamed) in Windhelm. Flash!!! It took them six months to earn enough gold to get him. wub.gif

Cats!

Saxhleel craftslizard Stays-Up-Late.

Fishing in Eastmarch demands more clothing. The bear never came over to mess with them.
SubRosa
It looks like Jerric is wearing shorts, garter belts, and boots in those first pics! laugh.gif

Wow, Lil's new Kingly outfit is awesome!

Auridon looks fantastic!

That crafty Saxheel looks great. I love how the Argonians look in this game.
Grits
Ha, those shorts do look like they have garters! tongue.gif Unfortunately the belts just look like floating belt buckles when they’re equipped alone, so when he keeps his sword handy he also wears some ‘pants.’

We just figured out that Lil’s green king outfit is in the Khajiit style, so she made a grey robe/gown that looks similar but is longer. The variety of armor and clothing is amazing.

Jerric, Lildereth, and Darnand have all reached a high enough level to travel reasonably throughout most of their maps, so there’s been a lot of wandering lately. Darnand has ventured to Hammerfell, but there was a lot of sand blowing around while he was there. He’ll get some pictures when he returns in better weather.

With the Argonians their tails do a little curl on the ground animation when they stoop down. It is charming. happy.gif The Khajiit also look the best of any game in my opinion. There is a great variety of feline face shapes from cat to lion. A tall, armored Khajiit with a huge mane is an impressive sight.
Acadian
I’m loving Jerric’s fishing tour of ESO-land.

Wow, that green outfit on Lil is wonderful! Perfect style and color, and Hassim the big cat really completes that shot.

Jeggi and Jerric do look a lot alike!

Fabulous shot of Lil and Ulfe on the beach. It looks like a tropical paradise! happy.gif

Flash looks beautiful. It is so nice that Jerric finally got him.

What a neat shot of the cats. I wonder what is holding their interest?

You and SubRosa are right; the Argonians look great in ESO.
SubRosa
The Bosmer King gives you Khajiit clothing? Irony can be pretty ironic at times...
Lopov
Shadowfen looks awesome, love the mist in the 2nd pic, reminds me of Morrowind. Nice that shields can be worn on backs.

Pretty outfit, pretty Lil!

The pic outside Cheydinhal made me think it's outside Whiterun. wink.gif

Khajiit pups! Neat. That outfit suits Lil as well.

The bear not dared to attacked another bear. wink.gif

Some screenies don't open for me, it says that page can't be redirected properly, it's probably something temporary, I'll check on the rest later.
haute ecole rider
Loved the Cats! pic - I expected to see the Khajiit start grooming himself along with the smaller Alfiqs!
Grits
Acadian, I’m sure that most of my landscape pictures will have Jerric fishing in them. There’s rarely an assignment so urgent that he won’t drop a line into the river on his way there (and back). Thank you for the kind words about Lil. It has been great fun getting to know another side of her in Valenwood. smile.gif

SubRosa, I had to laugh when I figured out that was a Khajiiti-style top. I suppose since the Bosmer and Khajiit are allies in this situation? Thankfully Jerric got Nord pants as a gift from the Nord king. It would be strange to get Argonian pants from him. Tail hole? wacko.gif

Lopov, sorry about those links. Imgur has been acting up on me lately. The bear comment made me laugh! laugh.gif Shadowfen is on the Morrowind border, and it has some nice Morrowind influence. Jerric did not like Shadowfen at first because if you just tromp straight through the marsh Jerric-style some animal tries to eat you about every ten feet and you have to kill it. Jerric prefers to kill daedra and other scumbags. Then he discovered that Alit meat tastes just like beef and started to not mind so much.

hautee, I hope we get cats in the next TES game. There are cats all over the place in Daggerfall. Some of them have names, some of them are just called ‘Cat.’ My gang’s Alfiq pal Sugar Paws (a non-combatant pet you can get to follow you) has taken a shine to Stays-Up-Late and has abandoned Darnand. Stays is a budding provisioner and cooks a lot of fish. It’s a good match. laugh.gif
Acadian
Methinks a 'tail hole' for Jerric's pants might be just the ticket. Naturally he would repurpose it as an exhaust valve. wink.gif
Grits
rollinglaugh.gif It could provide him with cabbage-fueled acceleration! "Saxhleel Pants of Nordic Sprinting!"

Some screenies of Haa-Rei's first few minutes of the Thieves Guild expansion:

The city of Abah's Landing in the new region of Hew's Bane, located in southern Hammerfell.

One of three pirate outfits available in the Crown Store. There's a variant with a shirt, but Haa-Rei likes the Keffiyeh more than he likes appropriate torso coverage. Also pictured, the Jackal pet which players receive for free on entry to the city.

The Camel Mount, which already seems to be popular. We've seen a few players galloping about on them.

The tiny Kindlespit Dragon Frog pet.

Finally, for now, the suitably sneaky Thieves Guild outfit. I think Quintus the Guar cancels out any degree of subtlety that the outfit might have lent Haa-Rei.
SubRosa
The new city looks neat. Nice and big, and piled on top of itself.

The Thieves Guild armor looks neat. It reminds me of the shrouded armor from Skyrim and Oblivion.
Acadian
Wow, everything looks great and very alluring. Thanks for sharing your first impressions of the TG add on.

Jackal and dragon frog pets! wub.gif
Grits
These look fantastic, hazmick! Haa-Rei’s jackal looks very naughty. biggrin.gif I think Haa-Rei looks adorable in his desert attire. The TG outfit looks excellent, I think Lil will approve. It matches Quintus’s hide color!

Thank you for sharing these!
Acadian
Hazmick, I just noticed Haa-Rei's screenshot of the month with him working hard on the farm. happy.gif
hazmick
Haa-Rei left the city of Abah's Landing to explore the region of Hew's Bane:

The view from just outside the city gates. The region is crisscrossed by little streams and rivers, which provide life to an otherwise arid land.

It's a veritable haven for reptiles, with several new species including the fire-breathing Haj Mota and the adorable Thorn Gecko. There are also tiny little winged serpents, and Lamias. Haa-Rei and his two Guar feel right at home.

Down by the beach.

Discovering ancient ruins. This area of Hammerfell seems to have more of an ancient Egyptian influence than others, but plenty of statues still have that traditional Yokudan style mixed in.

Finally, overlooking a river just before sunset.
SubRosa
Love the rocky desert oasis.

Neat new critters too. It is nice to see some original creatures.

Persepolis looks neat too. wink.gif

Hammerfell looks really cool in this game.
Acadian
Beautiful land! As desert dweller, I bet that I would feel right at home. I know I have loved visiting Elsweyr via mod. The various streams and rivers look so inviting. I want a thorn gecko! I believe Grits already has one at home? Haa-Rei's head dress looks absolutely perfect for protecting the scales on his head from the hot sun.
