You too! How are you observing it? Rebellion? Watching 4,5,and 6?
mirocu
Not playing Rebellion, and I presume Khajiit mean to ask if I watch Star Wars, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back or Star Wars: Return of the Jedi? No on that as well, but I will watch some Star Wars related guff on youtube with ashens soon biggrin.gif

Mmmhmmm

I need to go on GOG and Steam and see if there are any good deals to be had on old Star Wars games that I don’t currently own. Ooo, or maybe get KotOR 2 on Switch even though they never released the free restored content dlc…
mirocu
I will, as always, recommend Rebellion if Khajiit fancies a great RTS with a Star Wars theme. And if he can find it for a modern console of course biggrin.gif

I’d be shocked if GOG doesn’t have it.

Wow, I did not even realize what day it was. Maybe I will pull out Andor and start a rewatch.

Ooo do you recommend Andor? We were thinking about watching it but weren’t sure about it.

It was good. It depicts the early Empire, and the rise of the Rebels, long before an Alliance was even a consideration for their disparate groups. I misremembered, it is set 5 years before the Battle of Yavin. It has strong working class struggle against authoritarian police state vibes. Because that is what it is after all. It also has a really powerful sense of paranoia, and is very much a spy thriller. I looked it up, and it was made by the same guy who wrote most of the Bourne movies.

Diego Luna is really good, as he was in Rogue One. Likewise we have other solid actors like Stellan Skarsgard and Genevieve O'Reilly (who also reprises her Rogue One role as Mon Mothma). The other actors are all good, and their characters are likeable or dislikeable (depending on who they are), and just feel very real. For example, there is a guy who is a tough police sergeant, and you know that instantly just from looking at him. The actor just plays the role so well.

It has kind of a weird pacing. The first episode starts out with a banger event in the first few minutes. Then the rest of the episode and the next one are just sort of slow. They are just your basic first act of introducing the characters and setting. Then the third episode is just balls to the wall action. Then it does the same thing again with two slow introduce new characters and setting episodes, and then those wrap up with another wall to wall excitement episode to pay it off. After that the pacing sort of smooths out and becomes more of a steady up and down of action vs exposition.

Cool. I really liked Rogue One and with your write up for it I definitely will give it a try. Thank you!

Oops, I misremembered. I just watched the first episode of Andor, and it is set 5 BBY. So it is the later Imperial period. I think what tripped me up was that most of the series is set in systems that had a low Imperial influence to begin with. It starts in a corporate controlled zone, similar to the Corporate Sector from the Han Solo books in the 70s. Which means a single corporation owns the planet, employs the people, and has their own cops. So its a British East India Company kind of thing. Then as the story goes on the Empire uses events to take direct control of the region.

So its the kind of thing that had been taking place all across the galaxy ever since the Empire was created. It just finally caught up to this place. It is an unimportant planet out in the sticks, which is why it never got much notice until now.

Sounds interesting! Maybe kinda cyberpunk-ish?

Anyway, ended up getting KotOR II for Switch on sale, even though they haven’t released/May never release the restored content dlc. While I don’t like supporting bad business practices, I feel the reduction of price justifies buying it. $10. Also, Republic Commando caught my wife’s eye so I bought that on Switch as well. $8.
