Also on the subject of cameos, Rise of Skywalker had Wedge (Denis Lawson), manning one of the guns of the Falcon in the big final battle.
There is also a scene where Rey is channeling the jedi of the past, and there are tons of their voices in her head. I had to read an article to find out that it was indeed all the people who had played jedi in the past movies and tv shows: Ewan McGregor, Alec Guiness, Liam Neeson, Ashley Eckstein, Sam Jackson, etc...

Why the Empire adopted the TIE InterceptorIMO, they could at least have added a basic shield to the Interceptor. Nevermind a hyperdrive, life support and thicker armor, but a shield that at least allowed for a hit or two.
Then again, no shield makes for better pilots, methinks..

You have to remember that the Empire is a dictatorship. One thing all dictators have in common is that their personal advancement and continued hold on power is always first and foremost in their minds. The welfare of their nation always takes a back seat to that. In fact it is usually never even a consideration for them.
The military is often the route that dictators take to power, though not always. It is also often the route the people who depose them take. The German Army tried to kill Hitler more than once. So a better, more efficient military is not in Palpatine's best interest. It just places a more efficient weapon in the hands of his rivals. Even in a democracy or republic, the military is always a danger to the society it purports to protect. Take Caesar for example. He destroyed what was left of the failing Roman Republic with his army. Which was of course, Rome's army.
So if the Imperial fighters had a hyperdrive, then half the Imperial pilots would desert or defect their first time in a cockpit. The lack of one keeps all their pilots on a leash, which is important for a dictatorship. Likewise, shields would mean their pilots would live longer, learn from their mistakes, and get better. Some might become heroes. Also, bad for a dictators, because today's hero is tomorrow's leader of a coup against you.
What dictators like Stalin learned is that is that quantity, not quality is all you need. He actually did say that "Quantity has a quality all its own." Hordes of minions are good, because no one person lives long enough to become a symbol for others to rally around. Everyone is nameless, faceless, one tiny cog in a machine of terror that only answers to the guy on top.
Stalin would also pit his best generals against one another, by giving them overlapping objectives, and vague orders. The idea was to insure that the army was too divided against itself to ever rise up against him. Other dictators actually killed their victorious generals, for fear of them becoming too popular. The Parthian general who won the Battle of Carrhae was murdered by his king afterward.

I don't know Y-Wings are suppose to have the best armor and shielding in the Rebel Fleet and it gets torn like paper in the movies.
Edit:
I still haven't seen Rise of Skywalker yet but from a review I saw it seems to me what should have happened was to NOT do Rise of Skywalker but take elements from it and mix it into The Last Jedi, kill off Leia and have the Resistance nearly wiped out but flee to fight another day and let the bad guys relish in their momentary victory. Have Finn and Poe meet back up with Rey who's still training under Luke but inform her that the Resistance has been nearly wiped out and they need Rey and Luke to come back. So now its Rey, Finn, Poe, Luke takes the Falcon to meet up with the remaining Resistance members and they go on this journey to find the wave finder and do all of this questing stuff, Rin discovers that Snoke was Deteriorating Palpatine clone and decides to kill it then leaves to meet the actual Palpatine and here we learn that the Palpatine from Episodes 1-6 was a perfect clone of him till his death on the Death Star 2 and the Palpatine was hiding on this Sith planet for many many years and so on and so forth. Maybe if I see the film I can piece stuff together better but that's just my take.

10/10 for both.
Season 1 tested the waters and the reception was thunderous; bring on Season 2, I say, where the real meat of the story will be served.

Imperial ruthless inefficiency saves the day. The scout troopers get delayed returning to town because they can't get a confirmation of their orders because Gideon killed a dude for interrupting him.
If not for that, yodlet would already have been in Imperial hands before Iggie could catch up.
I’m still trying to figure out the mystery person with the spurs and radio noise at the end of episode 5. Still hoping it’s our boy Boba. And if it is I hope he took his armor back from that Cobb guy.
Filoni did mention that bringing back Boba was very very interesting and possible, and didn’t dismiss the possibilities.

If whatever it is TROS is is anything to go by, then I’d hazard a guess that Yoddler is wanted by the Emperor for his healing powers. Might be looking to siphon the little kid’s life power too, just to make himself feel young again; and why shouldn’t he, Yoddler (and perhaps his species in particular) seems like a natural heavyweight in the Force. Little dude can Force-Choke and Force Heal *as a baby*.

Ok so I watched the first 3 episodes of Mando. It’s very fun but as Subbie mentioned, it seems pretty shallow. That being said, I enjoy the fire fights and style the series is filmed with. The Mandalorians themselves seem really cool (as they should), and I like how the main character isn’t unbeatable. I’m going to have to reserve judgement on the “Baby Yoda” situation for now, though I’m feeling like I would have rather they leave out the Jedi in this. We’ll see.

I’m just not sure the series needs much plot beyond Mando going on his bounty hunting adventures, and *maybe* the Mandalorians as a group trying to get back to a place of prominence after the Empire nearly wiped them out. They could have made it like the old Xena and Hercules shows where each week they go on a new adventure. Oh well, if everything has to be about the Force then I guess we’ll just have to enjoy it for what it is.
