Relatively recently I found out I actually like baby spinach on my sandwiches, so I have added them accordingly. Made myself a couple of them for dinner tonight: Nature's Own butterbread with mayo, white American cheese, turkey, roast beef, lettuce, and baby spinach. Yum yum.

Yeah Khajiit never eats regular lettuce on a samich. He always puts spinach!

Just finished some Diet Mountain Dew and Fried Chicken.

Had one of my rare sit-down restaurant lunches yesterday, at my local Chinese all-you-can-eat buffet of choice. Good as usual. I overate as usual. Chopstick technique started out strong, then after temporarily releasing the sticks to adjust the book I was reading, was so-so the rest of the meal.

On the home front, I recently discovered, or rather rediscovered, that adding a dash of Frank's Hot Sauce to Thousand Island Dressing significantly improves the desirability of my otherwise rather bland salad suppers. Gotta remember to add Frank's to next week's grocery list, as I'm almost out.

For the first time in ages Walmart carried a yummy selection of Fuji apples. In the meantime I've discovered that Pink Lady is my second favorite apple.

Switching things up a bit for my supper salads. Some of the veggies I use in 'em are the frozen variety, selected in large part because they are within my budget. This week I abandoned my traditional bag of frozen mixed veggies and instead bought fresh carrots, green bell-pepper and cucumber, which came out to roughly the same price. Those join the fresh produce I've been buying for some time...tomato, onion, mushroom. To those I add frozen Broccoli (cheaper than fresh, sad to say), usually tuna, often cheese, sometimes raisins. Lettuce of course. Been drowning 'em mostly in Thousand Isle. Not ideal, but I can't find a dressing that appeals to me, taste wise. There was that one super yummy Oil & Vinegar I tried some time ago, but as you may recall it triggered a series of migraines.

Not big on it, that is for sure. I threw it up once when I was 14, and the memory lingers, maybe? Anyway, I do eat it occasionally, but have to really be in the mood for it; and it can't taste fishy in the slightest or it is immediately given to the dog,

Speaking of lingering childhood memories. Back when I was a wee slip of a lad I spied a cartoon or tall glass of EggNog in the fridge. No one was nearby to say no so I sneaked a quick full chug. Only, it was my mom's buttermilk. You couldn't pay me to touch buttermilk for years to come.

I LOVE Pink Lady Apples, probably the best apples EVER!!!!

Corn dogs, chicken nuggets (store bought not Mac'D's nuggets) and pizza rolls.

Khajiit has a similar thing with the mint chocolate Hershey bars. Vomited one back in the early/mid 90's and haven't touched them since. Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies? Can't do them. Found that one out the hard way, as it made this one nauseous after one bite.


Ooh! You ever have the breakfast version of that with the sausage on a stick covered in pancake? Khajiit used to love that!


Ugh, Khajiit can't stand egg nog or buttermilk (by itself). Blech!

Bought Wishbone Red Wine Vinaigrette at the store today. If I ever used that type of dressing before it was so long ago I've no memory of it. Decided to have salad for lunch rather than supper. Decided to go meatless so no tuna. Otherwise it was the mix of fresh raw veggies I've used for the past week with the addition of radish. Lettuce came from a freshly chopped head. Sprinkled on some sharp cheddar and raisins. Added a crumbled boiled egg. Quite like the to me new dressing. It's a keeper, so long as it doesn't trigger migraines. Too soon to know if that'll be the case. Time will tell.

I'll have either soup/chili or a Wowbutter sammich for supper.

Khajiit usually likes a good red wine vinaigrette.

Glass of Chardonnay on the back porch while I wait for a storm to come through. At 76° it's almost chilly out here!

Grits, how clever! A dry wine like Chardonnay should help stave off that storm!

Bought a pair of house slippers during today's grocery run. (The old pair were falling apart.) For once the SMALL size pair I bought aren't too large for my feet.

If Khajiit were asked, "Khajiit, what is best in life?", sitting on a covered balcony watching a storm (thunderstorm, not a hurricane; Khajiit's not that crazy) rage over the sea while drinking beers would definitely be listed in the response.

"Loviatar, what is best in life?" = To devour your enemies, wash them down with chardonnay, and hear the lamentation of the humans...

I'm getting ready to eat a Mexican style pizza.

What is this Mexican pizza of which you speak?

This and yes its pretty good stuff specially with ranch dressing.

What makes it different than a regular pizza? Does it have a different kind of sauce on it?

It's suppose to have salsa instead of the regular pizza tomato sauce and has a different type of crust, a corn crust instead of the regular flower type crust. But my favorite type of pizza is the Sam Choice Buffalo Wing flavored pizza you get at Wal-Marts. This stuff is ambrosia.

Barbecue pizza, on the other hand, must be made with moonsugar because it is like crack to Khajiit!

But I have had a BBQ pizza before, and it was surprisingly good!

Watching summer storms is always a good way to relax. Gin and tonic, or scotch on the rocks for me, though.

I'll agree with the Gin and Tonic, but start putting ice near a decent scotch (or brandy), and I'll get religious on you.

And if it's not a decent scotch, why are you drinking it?

Monetary restrictions. I have whiskey stones that I use, so that the good part doesn't get watered down.

So you put those in the freezer and then drop them in your glass?
