If I have one in our new house, it will have to be in a gardening box or planter. The new house is on the side of a mountain made of rock. We don't even have grass to mow, just a few weeds around the fringes of the property. I want to make a retaining wall and put some topsoil so I can have some landscaping plants around my front yard.

Khajiit would like an herb and hot pepper garden.
mALX

I've grown veggies, berries, had apple, peach, and pear trees - and done some nice landscaping.

When in lived in London, my neighbour had a cherry tree. Because of the direction of the sun, all the fruit grew on the branches that overhung our garden. We gave them some of our pears, to make up for it. tongue.gif

Nice, really like those kind of exchanges between neighbors! In Germany our landlady had a cherry tree; and she made homemade brandy with it that would knock your socks off in a few sips, lol.

One year we discovered we had a blueberry bush in a plot right up against our house. A hurricane that had downgraded to a strong tropical storm was approaching so we were placing the lawn furniture up against the house so they wouldn't fly into it. We found the bush then and were frantically picking blueberries before the storm hit. We gave none of them to the neighbors, lol

Just got back from T-day lunch with my bro. The food was better than expected . . . except for its price. I had both ham and turkey, mashed potatoes with brown gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce and what looked to be some sort of black-eye pea with bacon concoction . . . the usual suspects. Started out with a salad bowl. I've never figured out why salad at these buffet restaurants tastes so much better than those I make at home, considering their ingredients are not overly dissimilar. This will in all likelihood be my only traditional meat & potatoes meal of the year, as has been the case a good many years. As is our practice we arrived a good 20min before the joint opened, which proved a good thing. With its only direct competition having shut down early this year the place was packed. When we left tons of folk were waiting for tables, and the entry line was way out in the parking lot.

No supper for me tonight expect for an apple and a glass of water, and my evening meds and inhaler treatment.

Bwaahaa! We grew blueberries; blackberries; and raspberries for years; but between neighbors and deer it was a tough fight to get enough into the house for our own use. They were supposed to be a source of income, but never quite made it that far.

Yes. We offered them each 1 quart free, but they were supposed to buy any more than that they wanted. We caught them out there every year with buckets in the night. One lady had a houseful of friends helping her fill buckets, like they were hers to give away. I seriously considered turning my dog loose on them, lol.

I made a second round of turkey soup tonight, and by the time I got home there was a mini bowl of it sitting all alone on the stove. Big empty pot is in the sink. It turned out pretty tasty!

Yes! One of the best things about Thanksgiving is all the stuff you can make out of the turkey leftovers! Khajiit is planning on doing a turkey and smoked sausage jambalaya on Thursday!

Drinking another two fingers of Laphroaig's while exploring Ebonheart.

Did you know there's a brothel inside The Ebony Flask? Certain NPC's in a single kind of costume carrying on all kinds of suggestive activities.

Nothing explicit, of course. But if you know the things I know, *ahem* you know what goes on there!

And no, I doubt it's the Laphroaig talking . . .

Oh, and ghastley, this one's for you . . .

Had Christmas Day lunch with my bro at a local Oriental all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant. Boy did I take advantage of "all-you-can-eat." Started out with a salad plate, then had a plate piled high with ersatz Oriental cuisine, and topped it off with a smaller plate of ham and taters. That last plate done me in. I'd barely made a dent in it when my stomach announced it had had enough. I manfully struggled on biggrin.gif and managed to empty my plate. No dessert. I haven't eaten dessert food in a great many years. I'm normally not even tempted, but boy o boy did the large bowl overflowing with fancy ice cream my bro had look yummy!

Gotta admit that while the restaurant we ate at has better quality oriental cuisine ingredients and a bit more variety that their one local competitor, their ersatz Chinese offerings all tend to be a bit too sweet for my taste. That other place's entrees are less sweet with a tad more spicy-hot kick, which is more to my liking. Don't take me wrong. I liked everything we had yesterday. It's just not my ideal (as if I'm gonna find that in my neck of the woods).

I was so stuffed that I could eat only one-half an apple for supper. (I had planned to eating the whole apple. It was to be my entire meal. That and a glass of water. I'd have happily done without entirely, but am required to take my evening migraine preventative dosage with food (or milk, which I'm low on).

Had my normal lite breakfast this morning; banana, 100% whole grain wheat bread toasted with ersatz butter and sugar-free strawberry preserves (along with my morning migraine preventative dosage, a multi-vitamin and several very-likely-worthless herbal supplements), milk. Simple as it is, this is often my favorite meal of the day. Not this morning. Still too bloated from yesterday. I didn't mind consuming it. It just wasn't fun.

Will prolly eat a WowButter sammich with a small amount of milk for lunch (I'll have been to the grocery store by then) and salad with water for supper.

Bold: rollinglaugh.gif I can picture this whole scene the way you have written it!

Mine was: Ham, home canned green beans, broccoli casserole, sweet potato casserole (that I thought was the best I ever tasted till I found out the apple dessert had somehow become mixed in with it on my plate) and chocolate cake.

That was also my breakfast this morning = leftovers, lol.
