I basically added this as Fallout 4 screenshots may get confused in the general thread... and seeing as the Fallout 4 players on here are quite small for now I thought it would be nice for us to have our own separate space so our screenies don't get drowned out in the screenies on the general thread (not that FO3 &NV screenies aren't gorgeous of course!

Nice idea, Rihanae. I'll add an appropriate subtitle to the other FO screenshot thread 'repurposing' it for FO3 & NV. So going forward, they'll be on separate threads.

Rihanae, your game looks fabulous. That is great that FO4 has TFC-1, as it is such a handy console command. You can certainly see some high quality graphics in your shots as Matty and Piper wander Boston.

Lopov: The backpacks are part of a mod I added them for immersion and RP purposes. I do love the crash site pic. It kinda shows the awe I had myself upon discovering it.

So... I gave Piper a makeover! For shallow reasons! Matty is about 24, and vanilla Piper is looking around mid thirties IMO. I decided to give her a younger look so it's believable for me that Matty would fall for her. He calls her beautiful a lot... and now I think she is! Haha. please don't judge me

Greetings Blondie! I like her armor. Is that a form of combat armor?

Neat how she has the Far Harbor and Workshop posters. Is that from a mod, or are they part of the vanilla game?

Neat, its a giant bobblehead!

Yes, the combat armor is quite good in this game.

Different stat layers can be added, like leaded to help with radiation protection, pocketed to help with carrying capacity, boiled to help with durability and general protection, etc. Each layer of underclothing can also be changed and ballistic weave can be added to that to help with the overall armor rating.

Remember those days when you first saw the cool duster or longcoat in FO3 and then realized that you had to fix the DR with mods? Well the great thing in this game is that ballistic weave comes in a variety of levels to help with that.

With the Far Harbor things I am pretty sure those ones come from a new mod I added. The reason I am not 100% is that Beth also just released new content to the workshop with posters that can now be lit up with background light. I haven't tried that yet.

The Bobblehead stature is another mod. It removes the Minutemen stature and puts up Pipboy instead.

Sorry about re-writing American history there! Us Aussies do have a bad habit of playing around with the past.

The game also has new weapon racks, stands and mannequins.

Lopov- Ada is a 100% old USA robot, through and through. She is a really cool companion that was added by the Automatron DLC. Ada hangs back and gives interesting robotic comments and you can upgrade many parts onto her frame. My science level is still too low but she does have a neat flamethrower on one arm.

SubRosa- The gun is just a 10mm sub machine gun but has the drum magazine attachment that makes it look very Tommy! Ada does look like HK-47!! I have only just noticed that after you wrote that.

I don't think it is unrealistic; because no matter how bad the devastation - first off, it happened 200 years before and they were supposedly perfectly preserved in cryo chambers. How did the dirt get into a vacuum sealed cryogenically frozen chamber?

Secondly - women; we are always going to want to look better. We would scavenge a ruin for a comb and wash our faces and hair with water that buried the Geiger counter before we'd stay filthy.

That was one of the things that burned me on Skyrim = because it was cold Bethesda thought no one would bathe, so coated everyone and everything in dirt. Even the palaces looked like dungeons. Dirt all over, yet you see NPC's with brooms sweeping; so why is the place filthy?

I got to say - don't like what the weather mod is doing, or understand why they are doing it. Autumn in Boston should be beautiful skies; really not sure why they have so much fallout in the air 200 years after the blasts. The ozone would have been burned away; not holding fog down so thickly like that. Even FO3 had clearer skies than that!

Anyway, that is just my opinion.

My favorite of this set is "Winter is Coming," = not just because of Game of Thrones title, She looks gorgeous standing so still in the snowish sky; her bright red pipboy and blonde hair being the only contrast to the colorless backdrop - Awesome shot!

One of the reasons I don't like that weather mod is that it renders all your screenshots into looking too much like the last; there is so much fog that it takes over the screenshot and obscures Chalice and any scenery. Does it ever clear up, like in the summer or something?

PS - I don't have the game, so didn't pick up on the reference to Chalice joining the dark side. Is it the outfit she is wearing that has the significance? What does it mean? Feel free to fill me in on any details, I'd love to know!

Renee- Vivid Weathers is a weather mod from our wonderful PC community. The main mod just loads in an even chance of having all the weathers in the game. The modder has also given us season plug-ins that are simply autumn, winter, spring and summer. He has also made a Silent Hill plug-in that is just fog, lol.

Obviously you just load one season at a time (or just use the lowest one on your mod order) and it blocks the weather that does not suit that season. Autumn is rainy, thunder and fog, Winter is rad storms, light and heavy snow, Spring is slightly clearer weather and Summer is lovely blue skies with some thunder.

Autumn is more like England weather than north-east USA, but I guess he did that so that it feels different to the spring.

I plan to use "Spring in the Commonwealth," a mod that adds new grass growth to simulate the return of warm weather after I have finished with winter. All in all these mods are really neat.

Acadian- Thanks for the Buffy approval. I started out Chalice as a scientist type and somehow she is ending up like Buffy's twin. Not that that is a bad thing, of course!

I agree with your comment on Morthal. That area from Morthal to Windstad Manor was my favorite area of Skyrim. I must love bleak weather.

SubRosa- Thanks for another Buffy tick of approval. Our little bow girl does have one lovely pony-tail. Chalice is following in her wake!

The fog does look very Silent Hill. There was one point last week where I came out of a building after using the campsite mod overnight and discovered a massive pea soup had descended over the whole Commonwealth. And I mean pea soup. It was so thick that I had to look down just to see the road I was trying to follow. It was amazing!!! All I needed was the radio static to alert me of enemies.

It is hard to say much about the weather mod other than it really is fantastic. When you see it running the mist and fog look heaps better than the screen pic can really do justice. Every day is just rain, mist, fog and now little snow leading into heavy snow and radioactive storms. I love the oppressive heavy feel of each day in the Commonwealth and enjoy hunting in the ruins of Boston.

The horrible weather also has the side bonus of causing me to get lost when I am traveling- as every place now looks so different, lol. Bethesda's Fallout has very, very boring weather and has little variety in cloud features, the game now has so many cloud layers I have lost count.

I do not want to say much about Chalice's dark side as it is related to the way some of the various quest lines are playing out. My character is really at the crossroads though- which way, light side or dark??

Acadian's Quest has yet to play out. I must go back to Far Harbor and get some more of that done.

Well, if it adds oppression to the game, I'll stop complaining then!

It does obscure the screenshots, but if it offers you a more challenging game, then that is fine. Does that fog come indoors too? Can you even see enemies attacking while out walking? I bet it makes the game scarier to have them popping out of the mist!

Anyway, sorry for the griping, that was one of my big beefs in Skyrim was the fog everywhere - even indoors! I guess fog isn't one of my favorite things, lol.

Oh, you should see SubRosa's skies; she has "The Red Sun of Krypton" in one of her Fallout games! It was cool and really gave the feel of a post apocalyptic life - ozone burned out, sun burning the remains of ground to a crust and it kind of explains the lack of vegetation and why the once colorful buildings were now faded to varied shades of gray. It was fantastic! You could imagine people having to wear their shirts tied around their head to survive that intense sun, (my kind of oppression, plus it enhanced her screenshot; lol)

Anyway, I'm dying to know about this dark side, you have perked my curiosity now! I'm going to hunt it on YouTube, lol.

I love the grass and foliage. It looks the opposite of my game, lol. That is the really awesome part of the modding community, tailoring to our needs!

Yes, the fog and rain does come into settlements, mALX, but that is okay for me as most buildings you design have huge gaps in the walls and roof. Some of the interior cells do spawn snow and fog which is more a problem of the Beth engine than anything. Sometimes I need to 'wait' by sitting on a chair and moving the time clock forward. There is actually a mod in Vivid Weathers that removes ground fog. I haven't tried that yet.

The game has removed slavery and still has no evil faction, but we can all hope they added some cool ideas with Nuka World. The factions are more grey than white or black, and it does allow you to play off one faction against another which is really neat. :)

The gas mask adds 15 points of rad resistance which is quite handy when the rad storms roll in!

That's the one! It was 800MB when I first downloaded it, takes up almost as much room as all of my other mods combined. I think I'm sitting at about 1.7GB now so there's not much room left.

It seems odd to see the Brotherhood in Vertibirds, but I am sure they captured a lot of them from the Enclave after the events of Broken Steel.

That is a long way down! But at least there is a mattress at the bottom!

Off the map looks the same as in any Beth game. Still, I like that you can actually go off the map. Most games very strictly curtail where you can move to.

If it was a little redder, I would say that planet was Mars!

It is cool to see Boston in the distance. I can even make out the Brotherhood's giant floating penis zeppelin.

Heading home looks the best. I love the purple sky and the ominous red splash along the horizon.

SubRosa's Red Sun of Krypton was AWESOME! I'll try to find a screen of it and show you.

OMG, I love this set of screens! First off, the off the map stuff was wild, that is so cool! Makes me wonder if there is a test zone to be found !!! Remember in Oblivion on the XBox how you would stand inside the Frostcraig Spire garden on top of the Daedric plants and save; then delete the "Wizard's Tower" plugin and reload that save and you would find yourself in the off map "Test" area; with access to every weapon/armor/skill book/sigil stone/etc. in the game? Not to mention the "Mace of Doom!"

I wonder if FO4 for the XBox has a secret area like that? Has anyone found it if they do?

Next - LOVED the Bombing runs!

On the "Miss-step" - is that the Commonwealth building?

"Gore" - Urgh; now that is one bloody mess! Clean it up, and not a bad place to live! Can you take over people's houses after you slaughter them? Can you sleep in their beds?

While the USA suffered heavily during the Great War, it looks like Canada's been through much worse, there's literally absolutely NOTHING left.

Acadian- Yes, the billboards are still really neat in Fallout. I always read each one as I come across it. They always seem charming and fun. The snow effect was coming down in that last pic. Unfortunately Beth decided to leave out the nice snow animation from Skyrim, just how silly is that? Last winter I checked it did snow in Boston...

SubRosa- The handgun is indeed the Desert Eagle. The person who made the mod put the best ever sound to it. The gun booms like a Dirty Harry gun and has echoed in my sleep after many long-night gaming sessions. When you start playing the PC version make sure you try it out.

mALX- I have yet to try that test area under the Wizard's Tower plug-in. I must boot up Oblivion and give that a go. It is amazing just how many things you folk know about Beth games. I am still learning!

The beds in FO4 are the same as the last game. I am pretty sure that ownership does not change to you. But with so many settlements and campsite mods there is always a place to sleep so it doesn't really matter.

Lopov- Matlock! I love it. He does did look like him.

Vertibirds are a strange one in this game. Yes, they look great when they are attacking from the sky but they always have really low health. Most times they just spin in the sky with Brotherhood people falling out the side before crashing landing right on top of the character. A mod can be used to increase their health.

Okay, a few things are changed up this week. I am now using the Spring plug-in for Vivid Weathers and the Spring in the Commonwealth grass mod. I am also testing the Darker Nights mod to see whether I like it better. Still early days as I only downloaded it yesterday.

There is now grass everywhere and it gives the Commonwealth a very different look.
