@TheCheshireKhajiit - at least Kellogg's gun was worth the effort, Snake keeps it around for enemies that have a skull next to their name, now I already learned that these enemies are usually more difficult to bring down.

@Renee - there are some synths in the Capital Wasteland too, the just look different, more human-like.

@Acadian - corn flakes was my first association when I heard that this guy's name is Kellogg. I loved Kellogg's corn flakes when I was a kid and there is an old PC game called Tony & friends in Kellogg's land, which I played.

@SubRosa - one of Super Mutants with a mini nuke once "killed" Logan, I think they're called suiciders or something like that. Logan stepped out of some location and there was a bunch of muties outside, one of them immediately ran in his direction and BAM! - that's how we were wasted for the 1st time but I don't play DiD.

A faint smile is all Victoria needs to focus.

I doubt that's a BoS guy she's fighting, its armor is not shiny enough.

SubRosa –

Aww, nice that Victoria volunteers her time working for Bear Rescue.

Mini-nuke. Interesting proposition. Do I assume that the effective casualty radius is considerably larger than its range? That would make the weapon’s use restricted to the suicidally brave or astonishly dumb, yes?

Yup, there’s another one of those hero-eating suits of armor! tongue.gif

Wonderful action shot of that round in flight.

Lopov –

Wow, neat shot of that ‘mother ship’.

Cool blue beam weapon Snake is using.

Hmm, Valentine’s got the bigger gun. ohmy.gif

And Snake's gettin' all beardy for his Lopov shot.

Nice pics of the Glowing Sea. That place is a nightmare! Khajiit spams the VATS button a lot when traveling through that area.
Lopov
A nightmare indeed! Got wasted two times, first by a deathclaw (not the one on the pic) and then by some flying stinging bugs (forgot the name) that didn't look dangerous at all but finished off Logan in a few seconds. The next time he's going in there wearing power armor.

Yeah, we don’t usually go there without power armor. If nothing else but for the radiation reduction.

In Fallout3/New Vegas, none of Khajiit’s characters used power armor. I’m Fallout4, the changes to power armor really makes it appealing for all kinds of characters, as it’s no longer a fashion choice and more like a vehicle. Really like that aspect of the game.
Lopov
Same here, none of my characters in previous titles would wear PA, it was the worst armor ever for me. In Fallout 4 it's appealing to use, not all the time but for some dangerous areas like the Glowing Sea. I really like power armor, its design, the way you enter it and its usefulness of course.
SubRosa
TheCheshireKhajiit: That person in the power armor about to soak up a missile was the Rust Devil Boss in Fort Hagen Satellite Array. I like how she always has Tesla gear.

Lopov: Tony and Friends looks Grrrrreeeeeaaaat! smile.gif

Those muties are called Suiciders. They always have a red outfit around their shoulders, and you can hear their mini-nuke beeping, and see it blinking when it gets closer. Once they get right on you they set it off, and kill you, them, and everyone around. The cool thing is that you can shoot the nuke in their hand and set it off. In VATS just shoot for the arm holding it. Free hand just aim for the nuke. It can be quite spectacular! If you don't blow it up and just kill them the normal way, they will have a mini-nuke you can loot. But if you do blow them up, they will have nuclear material you can take.

That is some Cliff Racer! I remember the first time I saw the BOS airship. It did not give me any happy feelings. Instead it felt really foreboding, like things just got much worse in the Commonwealth. Afterward when the BOS started sending Vertibirds all over and getting into shootouts with everything that moved it only confirmed my feelings. I really liked the BOS in Fallout 3. But in New Vegas and in F4 they strike me as being a bunch of penii.

I see you met Strong! And the actor guy. It was a lot of fun going down the window washer platforms and shooting up the mutants on the way.

A red sun rises, blood has been spilled that night.

I thought the Glowing Sea was really cool. I love all the buried locations. Not for the faint of heart though. Its a great place if you are playing a ghoul though.

The Deathclaw falling reminds me of Willem Dafoe's death in Platoon.

Acadian: If you are firing it from a Fat Man you can get the mini-nuke far enough away to go unscathed by its blast. If you are just carrying it in your hand... Well, no one ever accused Super Mutants of being smart.

Yikes I can't keep up with y'all! panic.gif Hopefully it'll be slow enough at work tomorrow that I can glimpse into all these pictures. Otherwise, it'll have to be the weekend.
Acadian
Lopov – Ah yes, I see Snake’s new pretty red beam weapon. From a safe distance – wise idea! Some nice action shots. Yes, desolation is a good description of that terrain.

SubRosa – I agree with Victioria that most art is, indeed, weird. So it’s back in the Navy . . . as a SEAL?
Renee
QUOTE(TheCheshireKhajiit @ Aug 2 2018, 02:06 PM) *

In Fallout3/New Vegas, none of Khajiit’s characters used power armor.

Same here. I think Cho tried to put some on one time, but don't we need some sort of special skill or something to even wear PA? Whatever the answer, he wasn't able to put it on.

Lopov: Wow, so Snake really likes that dog, huh? ... Glowing Sea looks rather gross! Reminds me of the poison rooms in some of Oblivion's Ayleid ruins.

Miss Rosa: Looks like Victoria found some sort of avant-garde museum, huh? I like the rowhouses in the Continental pic. The Big Blast didn't destroy all of Boston's common architecture, the way it did in Washington, where mainly the museums, Capitol, and Monument survived.

SubRosa
Renee: In FO3 and NV you need the Power Armor Training perk before you can wear power armor. In FO3 the only ways to get it was by doing the main quest (in which case the BOS teaches you), or by doing the Operation Anchorage dlc. In F4 you don't need any special training to use it. You just climb in and you are ready to Hulk Smash!!!

I liked the power armor in FO3/NV. I admit I was underwhelmed by the game stats. But I liked the look, so a few of my characters wore it. Loviatar started wearing a black and red Outcast suit in her later game. Hecate took to an all black suit when she did the end of FO3's main quest and broken steel. Molly Hatchet started wearing the Tribal Power Armor after doing the Pitt.

I was put off by the F4 power armor at first. The dashboard at the bottom of the screen somehow made it feel constricting and claustrophobic to me. Eventually I found a mod that made it invisible, but kept all the gauges. With that I don't mind wearing it. But I still keep wearing it to a minimum, usually only for certain big quests where I know they will be a huge battle, like the end of the Mechanist questline.

I do like that the F4 version is really a vehicle, and not just an outfit you wear. It feels like that in every way, from it size, and even down to its sounds. Or how it just stands there when you exit it. But unfortunately its very size makes regular weapons looks kind of silly when you are wearing it. They just look too puny in your power armored hands. You need big weapons like the minigun to really look right.
SubRosa
TheCheshireKhajiit: The Prydwyn is triggered by killing Kellog. I have only see it once, since I have only gone that far in the MQ that one time. I still have not had a character who did the BOS in F4. It never feels right for any of them.

Acadian: Victoria prefers her art more fartsy, less eyeballs and blood. Why can't they just paint a picture of a bowl of fruit?

I guess she is back in the Navy, as a Marine? Now that is ironic isn't it! laugh.gif

Renee: The artwork is in The Pickman House. Edward Derby Pickman is... well... Read Here for more

Boston was missed by the nukes. Instead they all hit in the countryside to the south and west. That might not be by accident, as there is a Chinese nuclear sub still in Boston Harbor, and its captain is may have deliberately spared the city. In any case, that is what created the Glowing Sea. Boston would have looked that way if the nukes had been on target.

@SubRosa - when "Snake" Logan got pwned again by suiciders later on, we learned exactly what you're saying - that a key to success is to shoot the nuke on their hands. It was spectacular indeed as the suicider killed all of his mutant companions except one that was standing too far.

I like the Glowing Sea in its own way, when we went there for the 2nd time wearing power armor, it was a far better experience than the first time.

Any art is better than the raider art.

Victoria reporting to the Sentry Bot with a cool hat.

Great home, I like the lights and decorations outside.

Her home is cozy, useful but nothing too fancy or over the top, just what I like.

mirocu would be proud of that teddy bear collection.

Does the old cannon actually work?

@TheCheshireKhajiit - the arrival of the airship is probably scripted to occur after Kellogg's death as you step out of Fort Hagen.

@Acadian - like in previous games, deathclaws are among the most dangerous enemies. But my overall impression is that Mojave deathclaws were still much more dangerous than the Commonwealth ones.

@Renee - that's Dogmeat alongside "Snake" Logan. At first he didn't care much about him but the dog faithfully accompanied everywhere him, so he began to like him with time. If you ever try out Fallout 4, you'll like the Glowing Sea, it provides a good challenge.

Another fine SubRosa mod as Victoria showcases her new tugboat home for us. A beautiful shot by moonlight; where is the other moon by the way. . . oh. . . nvm.

TheCheshireKhajiit
@ Subbie- The boat looks great! Sadly, Khajiit hasn’t had a chance to check out your latest update for it, but this one plans to do it tomorrow.

Could you do this one a favor? If you wouldn’t mind, could you take a screenie inside of the “Raider Mausoleum” at Wildwood Cemetery with an emphasis on the walls? Khajiit is thinking the textures somehow got messed up in there and I’d like something to compare mine with. It’s cool if you don’t want to do it though.

@Lopov- Looks like Logan has been quite busy! Coursers are tough enemies, so congrats on taking that one down.

Doh! I totally didn't know being part of the Brotherhood allows somebody doing the MQ to wear PA. Oops.

Ha! Look at Vicky's boat. That's so wicked-cool. I love how colorful it is.

Does anybody say "wicked" in this game? biggrin.gif Lopov, just so you know, people say wicked in Boston a lot. "Wicked cool ... wicked awesome..." stuff like that.

Snake Logan looks like a movie star in those final pics. Look how shiny his jacket is too!

Khajiit wants to say he’s heard “wicked” used a couple of times. There is a truck shipping warehouse called “Wicked Shipping” and a guy in a holotape found there says “wicked sheisty”. They also do a “paak da caa in da yaad” bit too!

@SubRosa - it's never tight enough for raiders.

The courser uniform is a handy outfit and by wearing it "Snake" Logan bears a message for the Institute:"I'm coming for you."

@Acadian - the wrench is a must, whether it comes to crafting or killing.

@TheCheshireKhajiit - he used Kellogg's gun on the Courser, so he went down quite fast.

Khajiit: Yes, yes, that's exactly what I'm talking about. WICKED sheisty.... that's what they say up in that paaht of New England.

Lopov: Okay, so that porno star mod I almost added into Janet's game last summer is actually lore-friendly then. I found some mod which allows the PC to make it into a porno mag or movie (something like this). Maybe I should ... explore this mod in more detail then. wub.gif

Hot dog! (couldn't resist). Poor Dogmeat. sad.gif

What's the guy on the computer supposed to be doing? And is it my imagination or did Logan get a new haircut?
SubRosa
I recognize that Raider stronghold on the Charles River.

Dogmeat is all prickly now!

Big Boom at Faneuil Hall!

Snake is down in the Old North Church. One if by land, two if by sea...

Looks like Snake is now a conductor on the Railroad!
Lopov
@TheCheshireKhajiit - at that point Logan hadn't yet joined the Railroad but later on he did. It was fun walking the Freedom Trail, not just to follow the clues but to learn new things about the American history.

@Renee - I slightly changed his hairstyle, it's a modded variant of the vanilla one he had before, this one's slightly more unkempt. The guy on the computer - Tinker Tom - is deciphering a chip.

@SubRosa - some time later in the game the Brotherhood tried to kill those raiders from their vertibird but barely scratched them, so guess who had to finish the job to pass through. There always seems to be a vertibird flying above that area.

Lopov: Raindrops keep fallin' on my head... I like how the rain dots up like that on your hud when you are in powered armor. It reinforces the feeling that you are piloting a vehicle, rather than just wearing armor.

I think you need to step up your game from using a wrench if you are wearing powered armor. How about a lamp post instead? Or a bus? wink.gif

Snake is looking to check his oil and top off the wiper fluid at Diamond City?

Looks like he disarmed that synth!

Acadian: I am guessing you are not a Dr. Who fan. Bad Wolf is from the first season of the show's reboot. It was cool, because the phrase kept showing up the entire season. Then at the end it was finally revealed what it meant.

TheCheshireKhajiit: The boat did turn out good. I am happy with it, even in spite of the LOD issue.

The Glowing Sea has such great atmosphere. It’s almost alien with how different it is from the rest of the Commonwealth.

TheCheshireKhajiit: Whenever I see a facepalm these days I always think of the Picard meme.

Lopov: The Constitution's flight is a scripted event, that takes place only when you complete the associated quest. It only flies the once, and well, you can see how well her crew navigates...

The Glowing Sea brings back memories of Fallout 3's perpetual green haze, before I modded that out.

Snake discovered the friendly members of the Church of Atom. They were such nice people in the previous games.

Snake is hanging with the Virg. You are going through the main quest pretty quickly.

@TheCheshireKhajiit - the Glowing Sea has by now become one of my favorite areas from Fallout series. I still have lots of it to explore though on our 2nd run we were more courageous when it comes to exploring.

@SubRosa - yeah, Logan isn't doing almost any sidequests, he's focused just on finding his son. Like any good father in such a situation should be.

I still haven't found any place in the Glowing Sea where one can actually rest. Virgil's cave doesn't have a bed for your character and the only other area which was rad-free was some Red Rocket station up to the north of the Glowing Sea but there weren't any beds inside. Still, I haven't explored all of the Glowing Sea yet so maybe there are some beds around.

Looks like the teddy won the game, he's in better condition.

Looks like Snake is having fun for the whole family. That looks like the raider base that is right on the Charles river at the end of a bridge, and you have to go up through one building to get on its roof, and then you cross over that makeshift bridge to the top of the other roof.

Shot the gun right out of that synth's hand in special delivery!

Awesome pic of Snake lasering that feral.

Those monkeys are annoying. You can gun-bash them, or shoot them, and knock their heads off.
SubRosa
Acadian: Trying to find the Constitution in her new port was not easy! I kept going everywhere but the ship itself!

I love the teddy bears in this game. It is too bad Skyrim does not have an equivalent.

Lopov: I have never had a character want to spend the night in the Glowing Sea. But that is because Loviatar and Medusa never got there, yet. It is right up both their alleys. The Crater of Atom might have beds. But of course the game won't let you sleep if you are taking radiation damage. As you said, finding a place that is rad-free is not easy in the Glowing Sea. You could use a portable bedroll mod, and sleep with it.

The leftenant's hat gives a bonus to charisma!

Renee: I cannot keep up, and I am posting a lot of these pics!

I think the surprise was that the Constitution got off the ground in the first place! The face palm was just natural.

Renee: Victoria is better in the water than mirelurks...

Acadian: Fallout 4 has some of the best facial expressions in a Bethesda game so far. It really helps make the characters feel alive.

That is one of the best spots on the beach!

Lopov: I thought the monkeys were going to blow up too, like the baby stroller bombs in Fallout 3. Thankfully they don't. But the noise they make will alert enemies nearby. You can actually sneak up on them, and they will look like a trap you can disarm. But the game does not let you do anything with them.

Poor swan - the only one of his species in the Commonwealth and Victoria put it down. laugh.gif

Stairway to Heaven is awesome!

Looks like Victoria helped him step on those stairway but instead of in heaven, he ended back in his pond.

I encountered Swan for the 1st time a few days ago, but I was spoiled about him from seeing some screenies beforehand, so I slightly knew what to expect. Up until now Logan was avoiding his pond but now that he's high-leveled, he dared to approach. Thanks to his sneak perks and powerful gun Swan wasn't challenging at all, his health was reduced by half with the first sneak shot and by the time the VATS sequence finished, he only had around 10% of his health so one final shot was enough to bring it down. He's probably more challenging at lower levels or if you don't sneak attack him.

Lopov –

Wow, the bot made quite an explosion.

No luck seeing Snake.

Everything in balance – and not afraid of heights!

Snake cleans up really well.

SubRosa –

More nice shots of Victoria.

No quarter is a neat action shot of that little rocket in flight.

Under water visibility is really good – is that vanilla?

Heh, love the sideways glance Victoria’s giving to Red in that last shot.

For those that couldn't see Snake, here's the same pic with his location revealed, Dogmeat is just left of him. SubRosa gets the cake.gif.

@Renee - it's not so difficult to walk up that rope, at first I thought that a slight misstep causes one to fall but it doesn't.

@SubRosa - I'm not sure if missed anything when coming to the end of that rope, because as soon as Snake jumped on the ship, he slid down to the sea and had to reach the last part of the ship by swimming. I thought that walking on the rope will maybe get you to the top of the ship. Nonetheless, Libertalia is a great place, it was fun killing raiders and exploring it ship by ship, we'll definitely be returning there.

@Acadian - the bot made quite an explosion indeed and by standing too close as it goes off, one can get badly hurt. Two more sentry bots that exploded are featured today.

Bring it down!

A bad day to be a synth

On top of the Mass Fusion building

A bad day to be a brother of steel

Demise of robots - one sentry bot, two assaultrons, one protectron watcher were destroyed

Foggy Diamond City

Another Sentry Bot down
